FR LOTHARIO DALLAT IS GIVING PASTORAL CARE TO 1500 GIRLS AFTER MAKING PARISHIONER PREGNANT

“THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS DENIED APPOINTING A SHAMED PRIEST AS CHAPLAIN TO THE BIGGEST GIRL’S SCHOOL IN NORTHERN IRELAND – EVEN THOUGH IT’S PRINCIPAL HAS PUBLICLY SAID HE WAS GIVEN THAT ROLE.

At a special anniversary Mass celebrating the 60th anniversary of St. Louise’s Comprehensive College, headteacher Mary McHenry welcomed disgraced Fr. Ciaran Dallat onto the altar.

She told the audience at St. Peter’s Cathedral in West Belfast, which included hundreds of schoolgirls “We are honoured to have our school chaplain as our celebrant this afternoon”.

The event was filmed and Ms McHenry’s welcome for Fr Dallat as school chaplain, appears in a video on the St. Peter’s Cathedral website – although on the school’s website the chaplain is named as Sister Anna Byrne.

The description panicked parents of pupils as Father Dallat was forced to quit his role as administrator of the cathedral in 2015 after he got a woman pregnant and then dumped her after she miscarried their unborn child.

In a statement issued to this newspaper last week, the Catholic Church denied the controversial priest was St. Louise’s chaplain.

It said: “Father Ciaran Dallat has not been appointed by the diocese as chaplain to St. Louise’s Comprehensive College”. But that is at odds with how the college principal Mrs McHenry described him at the school’s recent anniversary Mass.

Celebrating this even with Fr. Dallat was Fr. Eddie McGee, the priest who issued the St. Louise’s denial.

Introducing him to the congregation Mrs McHenry said: “We welcome Fr. Eddie McGee from St. Mary’s University, who is a great friend of St. Louise’s.

Fr. Dallat then appeared at the altar and at no point throughout the 90 minute Mass was the principal’s description of Fr. Dallat corrected by either priest.

In a second statement issued last night, Fr. McGee said: “I can confirm that Fr. Ciaran Dallat has not been appointed by the diocese as chaplain to St. Louise’s Comprehensive College.

But this cut little ice with the furious parents of St. Louise’s Comprehensive College which has 1500 pupils at its Belfast campus.

One disgusted dad told us: “I don’t want Fr. Dallat anywhere near the school especially as chaplain. He is a disgraced priest who broke his vows. What schoolgirl will feel confident asking him for spiritual advice after what he admitted to? St. Louise’s needs to clarify now if he ever has been chaplain. You have the principal telling a cathedral filled with pupils and parents that he is , yet the Church is denying it”.

When Fr. Dallat’s ex lover went public with their affair in this newspaper, he announced he was undertaking spiritual guidance “to repair the damage and hurt caused”.

After a year out of the spotlight he surfaced again as prison chaplain in Maghaberry jail where he still has an office.

Not only did Fr. Dallat’s ex lover reveal how the cleric got her pregnant, she also explained how she had lavished him with £20,000 of gifts before he dumped her “after getting a message from God”!

She said, that after the first night they slept together, the priest – who grew up near Ballycastle – walked into her hotel room during a holy pilgrimage and demanded: “Take your clothes off”.

The jilted ex also explained how she would have steamy sex with supposedly celibate Fr. Dallat three to four times per week between September 2012 and April 2014.

At the time he was parish priest at Sacred Heart in north Belfast before being moved to St. Peter’s Cathedral in the west of the city.

“He groomed me and preyed on me, and then he betrayed me” said the woman who described Fr. Dallat as an “experienced lover” and produced a Valentine’s card he had sent her.

The Dallat situation is outrageous.

A priest who seduced a woman on pilgrimage and made her pregnant and then went out for dinner with friends as his partner was losing their baby on the bathroom floor.

If a drug dealer from a rough estate did that we would regard him as the lowest of the low.

But when a so called Christian and priest does it are we not left dumbfounded and speechless?

Dallat himself obviously has neither morals or principles. Rams in his native Ballycastle would treat their yews better.

So the buck stops on the desk of the so called bishop of Low Down and No Honour – a certain and disgraceful Noel Treanor.

Dallat has not only tolerated Dallat but has covered for him and colluded with him.

He should hace been sent packing to work in some secular field where being a Jack the Lad would be unremarkable.

But Treanor did not have either the wisdom or the balls.

Dallat’s behaviour rests at Treanor’s pedicured feet.

May they both be held accountable in the Law Courts of Christ!
