Dear Brendan,
For a long time now I have been receiving communications from priests and people of Galway diocese uneasy with how issues are not addressed.
For instance, has the former Redemptorist priest Father Rob McNamara and his housekeeper being involved in a succession of disputes with fellow clergy.

He began working in Galway diocese apparently in 2009.
In Mervue, did he accuse the parish secretary, Mary O Donnell of being involved in witchcraft?
Did he report the PP of Mervue, Father Willie Cummins to Bishop Drennan?
When he was moved to Renmore did he have a row there with the PP Father Michael Mulkerrins?
CANON MICHAEL MULKERRINS
Did he call the German parish secretary in Renmore a “Nazi”?
When he was moved to Knocknacarra did he accuse the PP there, Father Tadgh Quinn of breaking the Seal of Confession?
FATHER TADGH QUINN
Did he accuse the PP and parish staff in Knocknacarra of installing secret cameras to watch him?
He was moved to Galway University Hospital as chaplain. Did he have a row with the other chaplain Father Peter Joyce, accusing him of assaulting him and resulting in Father Joyce needing counselling?
FATHER PETER JOYCE
Did he have problems with the new chaplain Father Daithi O’Murchu and did Father Daithi refer matters to the Gardaí?
Eventually was Rob himself and Daithi removed from the hospital?
Did father Daithi involve the Association of Catholic Priests, canon and civil lawyers in the dispute
Is Father Daithi now ministering in the UK where he not happy?
Have you now appointed Father Rob as a curate in your cathedral?
Does Father Rob say he WAS gay but was cured at Medjugorje?
Brendan, quite simply, what is going on and what are you doing about all this?

What gives you the right to interfere in any diocese, Irish or otherwise. Have you not got it into your peanut sized brain that you are a heretic, dissenter, schismatic, renegade and apostate. Buckley, I’m quite certain that none of the priest you refer to have given you their permission to speak or ask questions on their behalf. And those who are supposedly talking to you are, in all truth, malcontents and disgruntled or sheer trouble makers. You have no business interfering in any Diocese with such arrogance. Thank you Pat. That’s Fr. Derek Feeney you have there not Willie Cummins. I heard, from someone that knows him well, that Fr. Daithi is very happy in the UK. He had a lousy time in Galway by all accounts.

That McNamara fellow is barking mad. He should not be in ministry. The Redemptorists’ “formation” system has a hell of a lot to answer for. That bald guy with the mad stare inflicted on a Parish in Belfast is another prime example. The CSsRs seem quite happy though to dump their mistakes and problems on dioceses and parishioners. It’s the people who suffer.

I’ve always opposed the idea of religious order priests being put into parishes or made bishops. It’s not their charism, as the nuns used to say, when we still had nuns (though of course the trad orders are thriving).

Yes he kept taking photos of cardinals and bishops and the pope and kept featuring in photos, so perhaps he didn’t see much of anything else that was going on, he was too busy being a photographer. Although he managed to keep the more controversial seminarians out of the photos.

I’ve come to this party rather late. Hugh Clifford was director of Formation in Rome???? As in a Dean? Jesus, Mary and holy saint Joseph, I’d say they ran rings around him. Just googled him and saw him in a video about the Irish College as I didn’t believe the above post that Hugh was a Dean.

Daithi doesn’t know me, but I know a friend of his and she was telling me how happy he was now, so you’re not right there Pat. The rest about your man is, sadly, by all accounts, true. I also know a family whose house he used to come to and sit wailing on the couch about the mean PP. Well done Pat, never mind the begrudgers. I’m from Limerick and I heard they threw a party in the Redemptorist house when he left. Pat, he was in Clonard too, not a million miles from you. The scariest of all though is someone told me he was in charge of formation in a seminary in The Philippines..

It seems to me that + Pat is perfectly within his rights to ask questions of a bishop about his diocese and priests. They are public institutions, and are accountable publicly for what they do. So, it is quite right to ask legitimate questions about the leadership, management and personnel of the diocese. After all, who pays to keep all these bishops and priests in the style to which they have become accustomed ? We do. So, + Pat, and others are perfectly entitled to ask questions, even awkward and impertinent questions ! As so many of you ask of + Pat himself ! Transparency and honesty are the way forward. No go areas only breed dark things. So, Bishop of Galway, how about answering + Pat’s questions ? On here, even !

Some of us here in Galway know one of the disgruntled female moaners on this subject. She is a well known malcontent with issues and most avoid like the plague. Get a life the lot of you and as for you Pat…. you are supposed to be a man of God, why not put your energy into using your talents to teach us about the word of God (which I know you are actually good at), rather than spreading gossip and constantly doing people down and hurting them. Your obsession about outing gays is remarkable when you too took the same vows yourself that you choose to ignore. I know at least one who has self harmed and even considered suicide because of stuff you published on this blog. Are you proud of this? What about your partner? Presuming it wasn’t a partnership of convenience to secure residency? What does he think about you constantly updating your blog 24/7, 365? If you are still together, your relationship must be awful.
