MC CARRICK MOVES TO LUXURY PAEDOPHILE COMMUNITY FOR DISGRACED PRIESTS!

He has ‘moved to a residential community of priests who have been removed from ministry’

The disgraced former cardinal Theodore McCarrick has moved from the Kansas friary where he had been living since 2018.

A spokesman for the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Conrad told CNA that McCarrick left St. Fidelis Friary in Victoria, Kansas, just days ago.

He has moved to a residential community of priests who have been removed from ministry, senior Church officials told CNA.

The former cardinal made the decision to leave the Kansas friary himself over the Christmas period, sources say, adding that his continued presence in the friary had become a strain on the Franciscan community that was hosting him.

McCarrick moved to the friary shortly after he was accused in 2018 of sexually abusing minors, seminarians, and young priests.

McCarrick’s new location remains undisclosed. Sources told CNA that the former cardinal arranged his new accommodation for himself, adding that the residence to which he has moved is “rather secluded and away from public attention.”

“McCarrick remains a guest at his new accommodation, but he is funding his own stay and is there by his own choice – no one can make him stay if he does not wish to,” a Church official told CNA.

Sources familiar with McCarrick’s situation told CNA that both the Kansas friary and McCarrick had been concerned that a forthcoming report on the former cardinal’s career, due to be released by the Vatican in the near future, would bring disruptive media attention to the friary.

McCarrick apparently hopes the new “secluded” location will limit media attempts to contact him in the event of renewed interest in his case, a Church official told CNA.

“It is not a secret where he is, but it is private, and for the good of the community I don’t think there will be a public announcement of it at this point,” the official said.

“He left on his own accord,” Fr. Joseph Mary Elder, a spokesman for the Capuchin province, told CNA Jan. 7.
“It was his decision.”

Elder said he was not aware of where McCarrick had moved.

In June 2019 Elder told CNA that McCarrick, 89, “is in poor health and remains under a supervision plan.”
“At this point, the length of his stay is indeterminate, but he is looking for lodgings closer to his family. There is no timetable for when or if that might happen,” Elder said in June of McCarrick’s residence at the friary.

“Mr. McCarrick follows the everyday life and routine of a friar with the exception of public ministry; he lives in the same type of room as the friars, joins in the community prayers and the celebration of the Mass, and participates in community meals and interactions,” the priest added at that time.

In August, McCarrick told Slate magazine that “I’m not as bad as they paint me.”

“I do not believe that I did the things that they accused me of,” McCarrick told Slate, in the only interview he has given since allegations regarding his sexual abuse of minors emerged in June 2018.

McCarrick was Archbishop of Washington from 2000 until 2006. He resigned from the College of Cardinals in July 2018, and took up residence in the friary that September.

In February 2019, he was found by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith “guilty of the following delicts while a cleric: solicitation in the Sacrament of Confession, and sins against the Sixth Commandment with minors and with adults, with the aggravating factor of the abuse of power.”

McCarrick was laicized in February 2019, but remained in residence at the friary.
McCarrick told Slate in August 2019 that didn’t ever leave the friary while he resided there, even to enter the adjoining Basilica of St. Fidelis; a condition of his residence was that he remain on the grounds of the friary. He indicated that he spendt much of his time in the chapel and the library.

McCarrick discussed in particular the accusations that he had solicited James Grein during confession: “The thing about the confession, it’s a horrible thing. I was a priest for 60 years, and I would never have done anything like that …

That was horrible, to take the holy sacrament and to make it a sinful thing.”

The former cleric told Slate that he thinks men who said he abused them while they were seminarians during weekend trips to his New Jersey beach house “were encouraged” to develop similar stories, attributing this encouragement to unnamed “enemies.”

“There were many who were in that situation who never had any problems like that,” he said.

MC CARRICK’S NEW HOME

Priest Retirement Residence

  • Casa San Pedro is an independent living retirement facility with six apartments built and maintained by the Diocese of Saint Augustine. The facility is primarily for retired priests of the diocese, but is also available to other priests and religious who desire a beautiful, quiet environment for either a short or extended period of time.

    Location

Casa San Pedro is located on the grounds of Marywood Retreat Center. The center is approximately 30 minutes south of Jacksonville and 30 miles NW of St. Augustine. There are shopping centers within 2.5 miles of Marywood that provide restaurants, specialty shops, pharmacies, post office and gas stations. The heavily wooded property provides many opportunities for reflective walking or quiet meditation in the great outdoors. There are docks that extend out over the St. John’s River which offer another milieu for enjoying nature.

    Living Quarters

Each completely furnished apartment contains kitchen with full size appliances, study or library, large bedroom with a walk in closet, bathroom with a shower, dining and living rooms, washer and dryer, and a separate private garage with covered walkways leading to the apartments. All utilities are provided except telephone service. Wireless internet is now available. There is a private chapel for the residents to celebrate Eucharist as well as the main chapel at Marywood.

    Services

Residents are responsible for providing their own breakfast and supper with lunch served in the commons dining room for all residents from Monday through Friday. Arrangements for additional meals for the weekend can be made with the Marywood Retreat Center provided that there are groups in attendance. Residents are also responsible for their own personal items, laundry and the cleaning of their apartments. All of the programs offered at the Marywood Retreat Center are also available to the residents.

PAT SAYS

This move by McCarrick proves what many RCC people have been denying for years – that the RCC actually runs places for defrocked / doshraced priests.

The next question is: “Who is paying for these places”?

ANSWER: the baa baa’s.

Of course, the real reason for the move is the impending Vatican report on McCarrick.

They are afraid that

1. McCarrick will be attacked.

2. The Franciscan monastery where he has been staying will be attacked.

This would be especially true if the report confirms that McCarrick abused minors.

AND, WHY IS A LAY MAN, LIKE MC CARRICK, MOVING TO A RETIREMENT HOME FOR CLERICS?

BECAUSE, HE IS STILL ONE OF THE BOYS!

AND, HE’LL NEVER SPEND AN HOUR IN JAIL FOR 60 YEARS OF SEXUAL ABUSE.

McC will be ninety this summer.
Even if he is moved into a luxury flat it will only be for a matter of days, and then it’s a nursing home.

This is punishment, ex-Cardinal style. I’d love to retire to Florida. I wonder if it has a beach hut for seminarian overnighters?

Buckley, despite the horrendous nature of McCarrick’s behaviour and the legacy if hurt and pain for many survivors, do you think it might be better if he was marched, hands in chains and led to the market square for public execution? That seems to be your inferred consideration and judgment. Oh for the gospel of Christ to be taken seriously! Yes, Jesus would ensure that he was reprimanded, sought forgiveness and be placed out of any possibility of repeat abuse. Yes, Jesus would condemn outright the crime and sin but would undoubtedly ask that he be placed in a safe community. Your attitude is what we expect of you: a messiah, God-play acting, casting judgment, condemnation and crucifixion.

Like

Yes, he’s one of the boys.
I am wondering how the friars must have felt having him foisted on them… And I will bet their views were of no importance.
As a wealthy layman he should be expected to accommodate himself and arrange his own security.

Like

I am wondering, Bp Pat, maybe there should be another #MeToo movement set-up called #PoovedOnMeToo to guard against priests.

Elsie Nichols has had a blazing row with his Cathedral Dean and the Rector of his seminary in London (both ex Anglicans). Some within Archbishops house say there was a fracas on each occasion in the last few days and both were not offered coffee – usually not a good sign where Elsie is concerned. Some of the ex Anglican Queens had a get together over Christmas at Friendly Society in Soho (their usual haunt) and it was a pure bitching session about Elsie. Much gin and cocktails consumed and screeching. The knives seem to be sharpened and out for Elsie. Apparently the Queens view Carmel as a gay icon but heaven knows why. Elsie is aware and hates the notion with a vengeance. Have you heard any whispers from there Pat?

Like

What a fantasy at 10.02. Westminster Cathedral has never called its administrator a Dean. Also the Administrator is still convalescing so I doubt there was a meeting.

Like

I also think a fantasy. However, the Administrator has been back pottering around the cathedral though certainly a lot frailer. And fantastic or not, the comment at 10:02 am catches the atmosphere in the Diocese now over-run with ex Anglicans. Second or Third Spring, it is NOT!

Like

Irrelevant the use of Dean or Administrator but you are not that well informed 12.31 – are you? Tuckwell has been back at the Cathedral for days and I too heard there was a row with Vincent. Whether he’s Dean or Administrator or not and convalescing or not is neither here or there. Keep up and get your facts correct next time.

Like

That sounds a familiar slice of Anglo-Catholic culture now imported lock, stock and barrel into the Church – especially Westminster where geographical proximity means they can gaggle together and screech and bitch away over industrial quantities of gin. It’s par for the course for them to identify a “fag hag” real or imagined, and single women have often been their camp followers – unwanted or not – in the Anglican Heritage we are all supposed to welcome and celebrate now. I can well believe that His Eminence is furious as, give Elsie credit, that is not his world at all, but he has reaped what he has sown by letting in those awful queens. Not that he was in a position to refuse them; otherwise his diocese would be depleted of clergy, especially ones with the social graces to hold their knife and fork properly in his smarter parishes. I rather think you are stirring the pot here, you scamp, so let’s see what bubbles up to the surface! By the way, Catholic cathedrals have Administrators. Dean is Anglican, so don’t encourage them. Remember the Dean of Belfast? Now, what happened to him … luxury priests’ retirement home?

Like

You are not up to date sweetie @ 12.32pm. Catholic Cathedrals in England & Wales (excluding Westminster) are now in fact Deans and not Administrators – check it out. You are too much still rooted in your Anglican heritage to know this fact perhaps.

Like

In the Langham/Stack era there was discussion of the WC Administrator being rebadged as Dean but it came to nothing. Meanwhile the ex Dean of Belfast is living in his sea view penthouse apartment in Portstewart.

Elsie is taking some flak online following the sudden departure of the renowned organist Martin Baker, Master of Music for 20 years, last month.
It seems they had a disagreement about a change in chorister boarding arrangements, going from 7 days to 5 days.

Like

Martin Baker lived with his close male friend and Elsie knew. This is only one of the rows however and there is a big scandal about to break about Allen Hall. There’s a connection with the well known diocesan Queeny clique. In Westminster the Queens are nasty and viscious queens always huddled in corners laughing, mocking, scoffing and bitching.

Like

Interesting, I’ve met Baker’s ex-wife and she didn’t strike me as a beard.
You wouldn’t be confusing him with another prominent musician with a Westminster connection, by any chance?

Like

So much for the earlier two posters saying any disagreements and rows involving Elsie were just fantasy. There are those who say Elsie is losing it in Archbishop’s House and the Cathedral.

His predecessor as Master of Music was of the non-marrying kind. Sort of goes with the territory in church music circles.

Yet he remains a practicing Catholic and regularly attends Mass in the Cathedral.

McCarrick has been accused of the most grievous sins and crimes. I think we have to leave it to the secular state authorities to investigate the crimes, and I believe that is underway. Perhaps he will be called to account in the courts for what he is alleged to have done. That is the business of the secular justice system in the USA and it is proper that should be left to them. It is not for us to double guess that process. Indeed, I think we have to be careful, as in all cases before the courts, to moderate what we say so that we do not prejudice the trial. McCarrick, like everybody else, is innocent until proven guilty by a court, and is entitled to the due process of law and justice. Otherwise, ignoring this basis principles of justice would undermine all of us in the rights that we believe we have.

The ‘sins’ part of his behaviour has to be judged by the Church, and it appears that the Church has done this within its own system of canon law. McCarrick has been defrocked / laicised and given the punishment of living a life of prayer and penance, I imagine. I do not see that it is for us to decided where he lives, or in what degree of comfort he lives. That will depend on him, the place that is hosting him, his resources, the help that is available to him etc. I don’t think we need to be too judgemental about that, and in truth we probably don’t know the true details of his conditions or his finances or the help that is being offered to him.

I am prepared to leave things as they are, and allow the due processes I have talked about to work their way through. That’s how it should be done, rather than some sort of mob judgement and rule, which only leaves us all diminished. I have the greatest compassion for his alleged victims, and recognise that they need to have recourse to justice as part of their journey towards healing. But, that has to be done within the boundaries and processes I have mentioned.

Like

Reported???? Is that all you’ve got to go on. As usual, too much idle speculation. Leave it to the authorities instead of being a lynch mob.

Like

Paper never refused ink Pat. I’d say he has a stash but a fraction of that. He is undoubtedly an evil man who fooled many for a long long time, but he is now unmasked. The judgement of God will follow- as for us all.

Like

And if he has that much money then I am sure he will be funding his own expenses. That would be only fair and just. He may have some pensions from the Church/ diocese that he is entitled to as well. The days of denying a rightful pension to someone who’s has done wrong are long gone so he is entitled to that as well. Just as you or I would be entitled. As to recompense to his alleged victims, that is a matter for his conscience and the civil and criminal courts. I really do think the same criteria should be applied to Mc Carrick as would be applied to anybody else rather than making him an exception and unilaterally prejudicing him. If we want justice in his case then justice has to be applied to him in all respects including those areas which we find disagreeable.

Like

@10:20am
Nonsense. Justice has to be done but also has to be seen to be done.
He has been laicised which means the church has found his behaviour unsuited to his position. This is another case of the church continuing to support bad behaviour.
There has been no indication that he is in any way penitent.
You are merely coddling bad behaviour if not crime.

10.20: An excellent contribution. Balanced, just, fair and very Christ-like. It is difficult to comprehend Pat’s vindictive, self given role of judge, juror and executioner. Hang the sinner in shame on trees is Pat’s anthem. Disgusting and shameful.

No one wants the downfall of any Romanist priest, not least because it would usually involve the rape/sodomisation of a child, or its otherwise sexual molestation. But people (and I hope this includes you) want them held accountable for their vile crimes and severely punished for them in criminal court, along with those Romanists who protected them.

I wonder if + Nichols will be worth $6 million when he retires ? Even if not, I doubt if he will have to slum it. There’s a nice pad in Chelsea / Putney where CMOC used to live in retirement, and I’m sure it’s available for Vin and the nun to retire to. Once he’s left Westminster, Vin will still be under 80 and still eligible to vote and do jobs in the Vatican, which I’m sure he’ll love, popping back and forth from London to Rome frequently. I’d say he’s probably looking forward to retiring from Westminster, and leaving behind all that bitching and the ex-Anglicans who seem to cause him so much grief. The man deserves, surely, a bit of peace and quiet ???!!!

Like

CMOC”s pad was not in Chelsea but in Chiswick. It was paid for by the parish of Chiswick when Jim Curry was PP there (Basil Hume’s hand picked secretary) now PP of the plush Our Lady of Victories, Kensington. Like lots of dioceses it’s jobs and plush places for the boys – CMOC’s and now Elsie’s. No surprises there.

Like

Chelsea, Putney, Chiswick…..all nice pads…..all worth millions £. I’m sure + Elsie will be happy in any of those places.

Yep, which is why it’s good to have your own resources or family money, because if you are not one of the boys, you won’t get anywhere nice for retirement. No wonder many priests takes lay jobs which pay property, or chaplaincies that have a decent pay scale and a pension. TG for those !

Vin, once retired, should piss off back to scouse land and the diocese he came from. No grace and favour pad in Westminster or Brummie land. At least Peter Doyle has the grace and humility to return to Portsmouth and do supply work. Retired bishops (‘if well enough) should do supply and not expect the Baaaaaa’s to fund luxury pads.

So McCarrick’s ‘new location’ remains undisclosed. I’ll bet it does. I’ll wager, too, that families with young children who are living nearby will never find out about it until one of their youngsters is sexually molested by a priest-pervert-criminal in residence there (that’s what the euphemism ‘priests removed from ministry’ likely means), or until a local reporter with an eye for the main chance does some digging. You can bet your final dollar that, like so much else that is sordid and seedy in its history, the institutional Church will not be transparent about this, but seek to deceive about it; it us alread doing so.
Look at these priests…CRIMINALS. Would YOU be half as pampered as these privilged, entitled scum had you offended even half as much in your community? You know you wouldn’t: you’d be in disgrace…ostracised. Yet these priest-pervert-criminals are going to have it nice ‘n’ cushy for the rest of their useless lives. Meals all made for them; rooms all cleaned for them. The best of audio abd televisual equipment. PLUS free wifi…where they can indulge their deviant passions by streaming the sexual abuse of children on the Net.
And guess who will pay for it all? Not these guys. Not their former bishops. None of these parasites actually worked for a living.
So who will pick up the tab? That’s right: the braindead laity, the ones who actually work for a living and don’t sponge off others. THE SHEEP.
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! 🐑

Talking of ex Anglicans, whatever became of the Anglican Bishop Broadhurst of Fulham? I’m sure he crossed over to Rome and I can recall his total vitriol against Canterbury before he left. All those Ordinariate “bishops” were ordained at the same time, so their Ordinary is not Elsie but Keith Newton, who is the only one having any kind of prominence. And doesn’t he just love parading around dressed as a bishop at every possible opportunity? One poster here even suggested he was entitled to the seventh candle – and he knows where he can stick it!

Like

Anybody happen to know whether an Ordinariate clergyman prays in the Canon for the bishop of the diocese – as the SSPX do – or for his Ordinary which would be Keith Newton? If the latter were true, that would make the Ordinariate an outrageous charade for those intent on having their cake and eating it. In monastic communities the bishop is prayed for not the Abbot. If the diocesan is named, then what the hell is the point of Newton dressing up in full pontificals – unless of course he just likes dressing up? Broadhurst and Burnham don’t make fools of themselves in that regard at least.
