FATHER DES WILSON’S PLAY – HOW TO READ THE IRISH NEWS WITHOUT BOKIN.

THE RECENTLY DECEASED FR DES WILSON WROTE A VERY FUNNY PLAY CALLED “HOW TO READ THE IRISH NEWS WITH BOKIN” (gagging or vomiting)

The play describes a competion to which three competitors have reached the final. They have to read The Irish News without bokin.

The first competitor only goes a page or two and then bokes.

The second competitor get a bit further and then bokes.

To everyone’s surprise the last one reads the whole newspaper without bokin and is the winner.

He goes up to collect his prize which turns out to be a year”s subscription to The Irish News – and then he bokes 😊

The Irish News was set up in 1891 by the Roman Catholic Irish bishops and priests to compete against the other newspapers who were supporting Charles Stewart Parnell to remain as the political leader of Ireland in spite of the fact that he had just come through a very scandalous divorce case in which he was involved.

The RC bishops and priests were the first shareholders in The Irish News.

As part of an MSSc taught masters degree in 1989 I in QUB I did a 30,000 essay studying how the Irish RC Hierarchy collaborated with The Irish News control church dissidents.

Available on Amazon Kindle for free. ** It has some formatting issues but is all there.

CONTANTS OF BOOK

The Irish News has traditionally under the control of the RCC and the non violent Irish Nationalists.

It’s current owner is a Knight of Columbanus and a Cathbot, Jim Fitzpatrick a good friend to Down and Connor bishops.

My own history with The Irish News is one of being blocked, censored and refused a right of reply.

In 2013 I wrote a letter to the Letters Page and wrote a blog about what happened:

IRISH NEWS NEWSPAPER BELFAST PUBLISHES EDITED VERSION OF MY LETTER.

THE “IRISH NEWS” NEWSPAPER, BELFAST HAS TODAY, JUNE 28TH 2013, PUBLISHED AN EDITED VERSION OF MY LETTER SENT TO THEM ON JUNE 17TH ABOUT PRIESTLY SUICIDES. THEY REMOVED 3 SECTIONS OF MY LETTER – (1) THE SECTION ABOUT PRIESTLY CELIBACY NOT WORKING; (2) THE SECTION ABOUT THE “CLERICALISM” CONDEMNED BY POPE FRANCIS AND (3) THE SECTION ABOUT BISHOPS, INCLUDING BISHOP NOEL TREANOR BEING ALOOF AND UNAVAILABLE TO PRIESTS. WHY WERE THOSE SECTIONS REMOVED? IS IT BECAUSE THE PART ABOUT CELIBACY NOT WORKING WHO ANGER BELFAST PRIESTS? AND IS THE IRISH NEWS NOT WILLING TO ALLOW CRITICISM OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS?
OR IS THE NEWSPAPERS EDITOR, NOEL DORAN, AFRAID OF HIS PROPRIETOR JIM FITZPATRICK – THE RIGHT WING WEALTHY BELFAST CATHOLIC?

NOEL, I AM ONLY A POWERLESS DISSIDENT BISHOP WHO HAS NO POWER TO BRING YOU TO BOOK. YOU ARE THE EDITOR OF A NEWSPAPER THAT CAN RUBBISH ME WHEN YOU WANT AND YOU ARE BACKED BY YOUR MILLIONAIRE OWNER.

BELOW ARE THE SECTIONS REMOVED AND CENSORED:
1.Most seminarians and young priests are initially dedicated to the life of celibacy. If they make it through the seminary without being propositioned or seduced by another seminarian or priest they are fortunate. However when they mature a little they are confronted with their own very normal sexual urges accompanied by loneliness and they become hopelessly trapped. The majority of priests eventually leave the priesthood, lead a double life in secret or succumb to psychotic loneliness, depression, anxiety or to various addictions. Whatever way they try to cope they are internally conflicted and lose a sense of integrity and wholeness. Also Is it an accident that there are a greater number of gay men in the Catholic priesthood than there are in society as a whole. Being secretly gay puts huge pressures on priests.
2.The “clerical club” in the seminary and later in the diocese is a cruel and unforgiving environment. Among seminarians you will find the same bullies as you find in secular life. Priests are afraid to be vulnerable before other priests. They are afraid to being judged and thought weak. When they are in a crisis they often cannot bring themselves to talk to another priest about their crisis.
3.Bishops are supposed to be “fathers” to their priests. But many bishops are aloof and cold and unapproachable. How many priests have their bishop’s private mobile number? Could they call him and go to him at 3 am if they are on the very edge? Could Matt Wallace have done that? In any event how can you talk to a bishop about your struggles or weaknesses when it is he who has the power to discipline you, take away your life as you know it, or even report you to the police.

Oh, what a load of shiite. Catholic Ireland. My arse. Not suitable to be a political leader because of his scandalous life. What crap. How many of those bishops were up to no good on the quiet themselves at the time, I wonder ?! Whenever somebody gets all moralistic about stuff, I wonder to myself, why ? What are they trying to hide by their indignation and huffing and puffing ? And, it’s usually something to do with themselves and what they are up to. The more moralistic and condemnatory of other people these clerics are, the more they are trying to hide. Its a simple equations. Back in the the last century, and now. Watch the fuckers, they are a load of liars and cannot be trusted. Now, if they were to use the language of conciliation, compassion, mercy, love, acceptance…. well, then I might take them more seriously. Until then – well, they are just a load of hypocritical, self-serving See You Next Tuesdays…..

Oh, let me see now…..a bit of both, I think ! Still, what I wrote is a valid view, and it seems to me that not much has changed in over 100 years plus. The Catholic Church is still full of hypocrisy, still full of clerics leading double, duplicitous and parallel lives. I’d know because I’m a disgruntled cleric and I know it from the inside. And if you think that by talking about it I am a nasty little fucker, then maybe you are right, because I’m shining a light on what you and your confreres get up to. And don’t tell me that they / you don’t ! We all know it. Including the laity, who are beginning to make their own mind up about things, because they are no longer going to be lectured to by a pile of clerics who have no credibility or moral authority. It has come to this pass because of the deep selfishness and self-interest of the clerical class over the decades who thought that they were above everybody else, untouchable, and immune from oversight, and could just please themselves. Well, times have changed, thank God. You won’t get away with it anymore.

Did you ever notice Pat that the Irish News will always try to find a GAA angle ot connection to a story. Even stories about animals. I remember some years ago a story about a lost cat. It told us the cat belonged to Aghaboggle GAA Club secretary. It then reminded us how Aghaboggle has been narrowly defeated in the ulster championship by Tullytotty.
Was it any wonder the cat done a runner!

I have my bishop’s mobile number and I’m pretty certain so do all the other priests in this diocese. The Irish News are no longer a Catholic newspaper and the Pro Patria et Fide is a bit of a joke nowadays. Most of their columnists are antiCatholic or religiously indifferent. I’m pretty sure the only committed Christian in the IN isn’t a Catholic.

Most Catholics only read it for the death notices but you can read them online for free now. The Irish News know how to charge for inserting a death notice and they won’t allow you to read any free online content instead making you pay a suscription. Alison Morris who writes for them quoted on social media a few weeks back that she has no time for organised religion.

Further to the concerns about formation for the priesthood raised in Pat’s letter which the Irish News refused to publish, there appears this sad report in today’s Catholic Herald:

https://catholicherald.co.uk/news/2020/01/29/devastatingly-tragic-news-young-priest-takes-his-own-life/

Of our charity we should certainly pray for the repose of his soul, but it is clear that something went very wrong, and knowing what we know of the conditions under which priests are accepted and formed, we owe it to others and indeed to the entire Church to highlight certain danger signals:

* he was ordained by special dispensation below the canonical age
* his background suggests an over-heated piety such as to Our Lady
* both he and his clerical friends seem very focused on the peculiarly special and elevated nature of a priest’s calling. I should prefer he were still alive rather than being “a priest forever” whatever that means. If marriage no longer obtains in Heaven, surely that a fortiori applies to priesthood?
* he had himself photographed out in the mountains dressed in cassock and collar
* elsewhere he appears in lace

Even should there turn out to be no other factors behind his suicide, I would suggest that this level of fantasy is unworkable when confronted with reality, and he is an unfortunate victim of the system which set him up.

Naturally I am going to be accused of viciousness, and there will be the usual call to let him rest in peace. That is God’s call, whereas here on earth this is something which cannot be swept under the carpet.

Your rantings and ravings are delusional 11:14. The fact is that most Catholic seminaries are now environments in which formator priests with immature, repressed psycho-sexual problems are given free reign by hierarchs, who themselves have similar issues, to project their warped view of reality on to young vulnerable men who are completely beholden to these sickos in order to proceed to ordination. I’d say this could be more like what was to blame for this poor young man’s suicide.

Yup, the whole case looks a bit dodgy, and no doubt in time the truth will emerge. It certainly seems odd that this young man was wandering around like he did in cassock, collar, and lace with a very elevated notion of himself as priest. He was setting himself up for a downfall with that kind of mindset. Anyhow, I think rather of his grieving parents, family and friends at this time, and trust that they will eventually find some peace. They might want to ask questions in time themselves, I’m sure.

Most priests have zero faith in God, and this shows in personal crisis.

Yes, it’s easy to sail along in a fair wind (and many do so for all of their lives), but when a tempest arises, the lack of faith is telling when there is a turning to suicidal ideation.

When I say ‘faith’, I am not talking articles of faith, such as those comprising a creed. Even Satan can recite these, and more convincingly than most Romanists. No; I’m talking unshakable, rigid, die-hard belief that God really does give a f**k and will actually intervene, at the right monent and in the right way, if you allow him to.

But that requires faith. And most Romanist priests just don’t possesss it.

What most Romanist priests do at times of crisis in other peoples’ lives is reach for that great big book of platitudes that they have memorised for precisely these occasions and dare to tell a trusting child of God that he sometimes says ‘no’.

Another reason that Romanist priests are utterly, and uncomporomisingly, useless.

Like

Most people don’t know this, but in the fairly near past the Roman Strumpet would have called upon even Satan to conceal the fact that this young priest committed suicide: his death is a denal of the Gospel message he undoubtedly preached to others, and that priests in general love to preach (and upon which they wax so …apparently…believingly), that God actually gives a damn about each and every one of us. If they truly accepted this rather than just talked about it, then their generally and utterly useless lives might make a difference to others.

A short story by Frank O’Connor expresses the existential gap between what many Romanist priests say they believe and what they actually believe. ‘An Act of Charity’ is the story of suicide by a young Irish priest. His parish priest takes great steps to avoid the scandal this death would cause if the public got whiff of it, so he bullies into mute conspiracy the doctor, the other curate, and the undertaker. No one, not even the dead priest’s family, knows the truth here.

The story is all about clerical public image: the fantasy that these men believe in a personal God.

And, on a wider scale, this is the story of the Roman Strumpet. She has nothing of substance to offer anyone, because her belief in a personal God is as shallow as a pavement puddle. It’s why she went to extraordinary and criminal lengths to conceal the sexual abuse of children by pervert Romanist priests.

All the Strumpet has is a carefully coiffed image to hide the horror of her ugly features.

Here I am this afternoon Pat on the big chair howling at this article about Fr Des Wilson and that cheerleader for all things Co Down and GAA. The Irish News.
Years ago in a continued effort to reinforce the “ specialness” of the clergy The Irish News used to print great screeds reporting on the deaths of priests.
Firstly, soon after his passing here was a whole chapter and verse on the priests death. Where he came from, his places of education, any notable degrees, who his relatives were, where he served and even his minor achievements. Even the re roofing of a parochial hall was lauded with a trumpeting akin to the accolades for those who built the Empire State Building. His connections with the GAA and the Pioneers were always mentioned. One notorious faux pas however on the part of the IN concerned a newly deceased priest, described as a great promoter of the Pioneers, who a week before his sudden death was done for drunk driving outside Strabane on his way back from Donegal.
However, this piece of biographical twaddle in the Irish News paled into insignificance when a couple of days later we were treated to a magnificent journalistic extravaganza reporting on the funeral itself.
Often this report could run to half a page. It usually began with the headline HUGE CROWDS ATTEND OBSEQUIES OF BALLYBONKERS PP.
NB how a priest had an obsequies whereas we poor mortals had a funeral.
The piece then usually began with the line ‘His Lordship, the Most Reverend Charles Purplesocks, Bishop of Slight and Underhand, presided at the obsequies yesterday in The Church of Our Lady, Ballybonkers of Fr Willie Underused, PP.,VF. Then we had more of the specialness which was obviously aimed at keeping the Irish News’ uneducated catholic reader spell bound. Terms like Dirge, Chanters, Solemn Office of the Dead and catafalque were all used. Then we had the names of the celebrant, deacon and sub deacon plus the Master of Ceremonies and their connections to the departed Fr Willie. We had the names of hand picked bishops favourites who were described as ‘Attendants at the Episcopal Throne’
We would have been told how the deceased PP’s coffin would have been surrounded by 6 candles and that his coffin was carried head first and by other priests in choir dress. More specialness! Must have been to do with Fr Willie being ‘ontologically changed’
And if all that wasn’t enough we then got a who’s who of the clergy in attendance, usually with their title and form of address.
We had Venerable Archdeacons, Vicars Forane, Monsignori, ( both of the Right Rev and the slightly lower Very Rev rank. Papal Chamberlains and Domestic Prelates. By this stage the unwashed reader Up the Falls or in The Glens must have been completely in awe and consumed with pride to be part of this organisation.
Then came the Canons and they were followed by the ‘ordinary PPs, CCs and members of the religious orders. All named and titled appropriately.
There was however one occasion when a certain Canon from the Mournes was listed as attending. He may well have done. But it sparked incredulity among his parishioners as he had died suddenly the previous night!! Perhaps being ontological change had other fringe benefits.!
Finally the grieving family got a mention, even cousins and their spouses. So also, as an afterthought did the devoted housekeeper/lover of x number of years.
Printing all that nonsense was a reinforcement of the elite caste of clergy in the eyes of those who had to pray up, pay up and shut up.
Little did they know that we would catch them on and are now calling them out.
My late father sick of all the puff like that I have illustrated above often said the Irish News was only good for 3 things. Deaths, The Dugs and being used in the smallest room in the house.
Anyway, a wee glass poured and a quick look at the Telegraph to see if I know anybody in the obituaries

‘Where do you think you are?’, the gentle Romanist yelled at the child in front of mourners. ‘A priest’s funeral?’

Added to that consideration we have in the comment of 10:00, an attempt at blackening the motives of the earlier poster, and all of that without a shred of evidence.
