VATICAN AND IRISH BISHOPS – KEEP YOUR INDULGENCES AND CONSECRATIONS AND INSTEAD GIVE MONEY AND EQUIPMENT TO THE HEALTH SERVICE.

THE WHOLE WORLD IS UNDER THE MOST SERIOUS THREAT SINCE WORLD WAR 11 AND ALL THE VATICAN AND IRISH BISHOPS CAN COME UP WITH IS MEDIEVAL INDULGENCES AND MARIAN CONSECRATIONS!

CONSERVATION IN PHONSIE’S PRIVATE CHAPEL

P = PHONSIE

IHM = IMMACULATE OF MARY

P: I’ve great news for you IHM. The Irish Bishops are going to consecrate Ireland to you to cure the Coronavirus.

IHM: WHAT! and are you doing anything practical for the infected, the sick and the dying?

P; What had you in mind IHM?

IHM: Like all 26 dioceses in Ireland giving a ventilators to the Health Service. They are only €80,000 each and each diocese has millions in the bank?

P; Phonsie looking shocked

IHM: Like each diocese giving half its savings to the doctors to get medicines etc to treat the sick?

P: Phonsie breathing become laboured.

IHM: Like each parish offering its churches, halls and presbyteries for recuperating patients.

P: Phonsie’s mouth twitching when he’s angry.

IHM: And will tell that Argie in Rome to stop giving out those meaningless indulgences that caused the Reformation.

P: Phonsie looking like he does in the pic above.

IHM: I dont need countries consecrated to my heart. My son consecrated the whole of mankind to Himself on Calvary. Do you forget that Big P?

And while I’m at it, how dare you refuse Body and Blood of my Son to my devoted servant in Larne  Bishop Buckley.

P: Right if that the way you want to play this, Baby, there’ll be no consecrations, no more Rosaries, no more Knock and Lourdes and no more of us bishops and priests making you a goddess. No clear off and get out of my sight!

Dumb Broad. The Bible was right. “Can anything good come out of Nazareth”

THE LAUGHING MADONNA

Indifference (a.k.a. When Jesus Came to Golgotha)

Geoffrey Studdert-Kennedy
(1883-1929)

Matthew 25:31-46

When Jesus came to Golgotha
They hanged Him on a tree,
They drave great nails through hands and feet,
And made a Calvary.
They crowned Him with a crown of thorns;
Red were His wounds and deep,
For those were crude and cruel days,
And human flesh was cheap.

When Jesus came to Birmingham,
They simply passed Him by;
They never hurt a hair of Him,
They only let Him die.
For men had grown more tender,
And they would not give Him pain;
They only just passed down the street,
And left Him in the rain.

Still Jesus cried, “Forgive them,
For they know not what they do.”
And still it rained the winter rain
That drenched Him through and through.
The crowds went home and left the streets
Without a soul to see;
And Jesus crouched against a wall
And cried for Calvary.

Begorra this virus thing has quare effects. I thought indulgences were outlawed by common sense. Are they still selling Mass cards in the shops. Pay as ya pray hi. Fella said today in petrol shop. I’m not religious but…. is the world being paid back for the way we are. Why should we apologise about God. I wonder if God would apologise about his church and the anthill mob that runs it but

Could Fr Derek Darby of Mullingar sell some of the many houses for clergy in his parish? Perhaps just leave two houses: one for priests and one for the bishop(s).
That way he wouldn’t have to be asking hard pressed parishioners to dip into their pockets for the Cathedral and he could use whatever’s left over to donate towards the cost of ventilators at Mullingar hospital.

I am as cynical as you about Romanist bishops’ rummaging around in their medieval spiritual apothecary in search of balm for trying modern circumstances. But it makes them look good, doesn’t it? Really useful? As though they are performing an essential, and quintessentially superior, service to humankind, above and beyond even that of people who really do matter here, medical personnel.
And it is all done with a polished and practiced flouish and ceremony that seems to insist on immediate and fulsome gratitude from others. I’d bet these men feel preternaturally pleased with themselves when all is said, and solemnly done. There is nothing quite like the self-satisfaction that follows self-congratulation.
But, as I asked on a previous blog, if Pope Francis can knock time off in Purgatory for people😅 , then why the hell must they wait to contract Coronavirus for it? What’s wrong with any other time? Why can’t he dispense these favours everyday? After all, that treasurse chest of merit in Heaven they talk about can’t be emptied, can it? So why does the old meanie not hand out to the faithful, and everyday, these By-pass Purgatory cards? Because once one is issued, the faithful, being the faithless (to God), inevitably relapse into sin…and right back into the prospect of porridge in Purgatory. Which makes the papal indulgence of issuing plenary indulgences seem, well, pointless really. A lot like Sisyphus’ task in Greek mythology. The gods punished poor Sisyphus by having him roll back up a hill a huge boulder that would eternally roll back down.
As for consecrating Ireland to the IHM, er, why?😕 Mary can’t take what does not belong to her. And she would not do so anyhow, since, like her Son, she respects the freedom of every person to say ‘no’ to his offer of salvation.
But not the Irish bishops. Being the thieves they are, they presume to take what does not belong to them either, Ireland, and hand it over to her. As I said, too, on a previous blog, there’s hubris for you.
The Irish bishops would have Mary handling stolen goods, effectively. 😕 But I suppose if she had to handle such goods, she’d rather these than the stolen innocence and lives of her little ones raped, molested, and driven to suicide by priests, and by the bishops who protected them, and enabled and facilitated their further kiddie-fiddling.
You know, were I Mary, I’d be livid (I really would😬) at the brazen audacity of these men’s offering me anything other than their collective shame.
Followed by their individual resignations.

According to the BBC, at least 50 priests have reportedly been killed by coronavirus in Italy.
One Italian priest who gave a respirator to a younger coronavirus patient he did not know has died of the disease. Father Giuseppe Berardelli, 72, died in hospital in Lovere, Bergamo – one of the worst-hit cities in Italy.
According to the hospital, he refused to use a respirator his parishioners had bought for him – choosing to give it to a younger patient, instead.
(Note: his parishioners bought the respirator for him, not the Vatican.)

Rev Buckley, why don’t you report the priest in Italy who died after refusing a ventilator, purchased by his parish for him, in favor of a younger man whom he did not know? One of the 50 priests in Italy who have died due to this pandemic. The Church will grow through the blood of martyrs, despite the smoke of the devil entering the Vatican! – as Saint Paul V said.

Why are you fixated with the deaths of Romanist priests in this pandemic? The vast majority of those who died in Italy with Covid-19 were NOT priests. Some of these may have sacrificed themselves like that priest. That is, if it was a sacrifice on his part and not guilt-driven atonement for terrible sins and the hope that his apparent sacrifice would fast-track him inyo Heaven. Let’s be honest: he probably knew he was going to die, so why not make the best of it by playing the martyr.
Hmm?😕
You remind me of Professor Donal Kerr, an expert on the Irish Famine, who wrote about the ‘heroic’ deaths of some forty Romanists during the period, not of starvation mind (the Romanists had full bellies while their parishoners, including new-born babies, slowly starved to death), but of fever.
As with you, Prof Kerr was keen to present Romanists like himself in a remarkably heroic light. Being a historian, he probably knew that not one priest died of hunger during the Famine, and was embarrassed by it. (Well, wouldn’t you be, were you a reverand gentleman?😕)

No doubt the work of the Saint Vincent de Paul Societies will be helping those in need, as they have always done. When I visited Dublin last year, I noticed the only apparent social support for the homeless was the men and women of the Legion of Mary around Grafton Street. Take the practical Church out of society and you will leave a gap that will resemble the neglect of the British Government during the Famine. Please show appreciation where it is justified, otherwise you sink the whole ship with the innocent passangers.

We all know the need for scrutiny on the Church and relevant issues, but today when the Church invites us to prayer, the poisonous vipers only offer the invitation to hatred. Shame on you all. Are you a total idiot? Or is there even the remotest chance of your intellectual redemption?
When you use such language, you expose as an utter pretense whatever claims you might make of personal piety, and moral goodness, and yourself as an utter hypocrite.
Do you believe you served God with that post? You probably do, because the God you worship is yourself.
And your bishops’ ‘call to prayer’ is an utter sham, an affront to God, because their attitudes and behaviour make this clear. This is all for show, to make them appear important, useful, even necessary. This ‘call to prayer’ is not about the sick, but about themselves.
And I do hope that thoughtless remark of yours (‘At a time when we are all asked to be together in this unprecedented crisis…) wasn’t meant spacially.😕
By the way, if ‘being together’ here means a mutuality with you and with those mammon-grubbing Romanist bishops to whom you bend a deferential knee, I’d rather pass.

Thought For the Day at 8:45 am this morning on the BBC Radio 4 flagship Today programme was given by Bishop Philip Egan of Portsmouth (I think he’s also known as Phyllis here !). His theme was the Annunciation, Feast of today, March 25. And conveniently 9 months before Christmas ! You could almost see the jaws dropping and looks of incredulity and incomprehension in the Today studio ! What is this man going on about ? What planet is he on ? Here we are in the midst of one of the biggest crises in modern humanity, and all this man can go on about is some nice twee little story of angels appearing to a young girl and telling her she is to get pregnant. by – well, God knows how ! A Catholic bishop is given the privilege of talking to millions of people and he just squanders it, reverting back to a nice story, narrative, myth, descriptive vehicle for some sort of message, but in doing so just sounds so out of touch and naive. What will have people taken away from this little vignette ? Probably something along the lines about those stupid Catholics who believe any kind of pious twee shiite. I doubt if they will be inviting any of our bishops back on in the future. At least somebody like Archbishop Rowan Williams ex of Canterbury and now of Oxford University is able to talk cogently, intelligent, eloquently and meaningfully about the Christian message in the context of today. So, Egan et al of our dear Catholic bishops, if you get invited on again, please do us a favour and decline, because by and large you are an embarrassment to us and our Church and have little of any value or substance to say.

Pope, Christian leaders around the globe join in prayer for pandemic’s end
By Cindy Wooden Catholic News Service
3.25.2020 7:36 AM ET
VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Joined by Orthodox, Anglican and Protestant church leaders and faithful from around the world, Pope Francis led the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, imploring God’s mercy on humanity amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“As trusting sons and daughters, we turn to the Lord. We do it every day, several times a day, but at this moment we want to implore mercy for all of humanity so harshly tried by the coronavirus pandemic,” the pope said March 25 as he introduced the prayer.
“We will do so together, Christians of every church and community, of every age, language and nation,” he said.
“We pray for the sick and their families, for health workers and those who help them, for civic leaders, police and volunteers and for the ministers of our communities,” the pope said.
Holding the prayer on the feast of the Annunciation, when the angel told Mary she would bear God’s son, Pope Francis said that “with full confidence we, too, place ourselves in God’s hands, and with one heart and soul, we pray.”
The Church of England asked Anglicans to join Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury in praying with Pope Francis and to share their photos on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #PrayTogether.

9.07: I do not know where they get money for these: 4 × 4’s….all pastors…think you are lying. It’s a good soundbyte.

Pat, aside from all the sarcasm, nasty comments, horrible, unkind words flowing through your blog, mostly against priests, can I reflect seriously with you. In these days when all of us are now in isolation with only the absolute need to go outdoors, are you, like me, and a lot of other clergy, feeling a bit ‘useless’ to anyone? At a time when, in tragedies, we as priests can accompany people spiritually and pastorally, we now are very limited in what we can do. Every activity, groups, social and parish and our Churches are closed, locked for the well-being of one another, we are in a very strange place of quiet and solitude, with only the minimum of contact with parishioners, and except for funerals, we cannot do much. Yes, we can give financial help to needy families, we can make phone calls to the sick and housebound, mind and care for our parish staff, offer mass and prayers on the webcam, visit the sick if urgently requested, but the vacuum of non contact in the ordinary everyday encountering of parishioners and with the community, is very surreal. It certainly has made me grateful for the wonderful opportunities given to me in the last 40 years but now I feel almost redundant as our nation faces a huge crisis. I admire all our health care workers: such sacrifices for our health and well-being. Do you, not now being able to carry out your normal duties, find this a strange time? A time when we seem almost irrelevant. And yet, I know if I had a special mass tomorrow morning, I’d have a full church if allowed. I know there are thousands much worse than me but after 40 years, suddenly I have troubling questions about my relevance. That I will have to resolve myself. Sadly, there will be some on your blog who will rejoice and say ‘tough luck’, you deserve it. I have been so dismayed by the horrible ugliness of anti clerical comment from some of your regulars but I believe we need adult conversations, shared with respect and tolerance, not with vicious put downs. You may have different feelings since you are in a relationship and are independent, but surely you too must have these existential questions about the meaning and relevance of priesthood, ministry, faith and the gospel of Christ. Thankfully, I have a strong, questioning and searching faith, a reasonably real prayer life and generally have no problems in relating with people off all ages and opinions. For now I hope and pray our nation holds together and that we who are in parishes may do whatever we can. The Gardai have been patrolling this area like clockwork. It’s amazing. No one out all day. My elderly neighbours on either side of me are in total isolation, fearful and anxious. At least I can give them Holy Communion by special arrangement. I trust you are keeping and surviving well. Strange times for us all.

Yes, Brother. Dark times. I am self isolating too.

I am concentrating on telephoning my congregation and others and giving them encouragement and hope.

I am also driving my significant other and delivering groceries and meds to housebound, without leaving the car.

We are under a dark cloud and facing weeks when the sun may not shine.

I an praying, believing, hoping.
