DOM RICHARD PURCELL MOUNT MELLARY – COPY OF COMPLAINT TO ABBOT GENERAL.

Richard Purcell
Abbot General

Dear Abbot General,

I wanted to pass on to you the information I have received from a priest Killaloe diocese.

I wish to make a formal complaint against Fr Purcell and ask for a formal investigation to be undertaken and to be informed of the outcome.

+ Pat Buckley

INFORMATION FROM DIOCESAN PRIEST

“Pat, the bishops of Killaloe know a thing or two about Dickie Purse. Remember Willy Walsh? His brother or cousin was a monk in Roscrea.

And that shite Kunty Reilly, now in Cashel, has the dirt on the guy Dickie fucked in Roscrea, his fuck buddy monk who was a priest of Killaloe who tried his vocation at Roscrea for a while.

“Kunty” O Reilly

O Reilly shafted the same Killaloe priest in a very nasty way, booted the poor guy out without any justice. Kunty had the dirt on the guy, used it and was merciless. I know all this because I’m a Killaloe priest but I have to be careful.

Kunty advised the Galway priest who was caught by the police at Salthill. Imagine if Drennan knew that! Kunty working against +Galway. Told him not to shit on his own doorstep.

Small world too cos the Salthill ex priest, Lee, was a regular at the Boiler House and could never keep his big mouth shut. Thats why his classmates in Maynooth called him Galway Bay! He blabbed around about the Killaloe priest being in the Boiler House, same priest who suffered at Kunty Reillys hands and who was fuck buddy of Dickie at Roscrea.

An ex seminarian friend of mine was fucked bareback by Dickie Purse in the Boiler House. The poor guy was lying on his back in a cubicle and Dickie landed in all horny, jumped on him and rode him without a word, yes, no, nothing.

My old friend was stunned. He couldn’t  put a name on Dickie at first but knew the face. He had been on retreat in Roscrea. He put two and two together later.

Dickie is one cocky bollox. When he was a theology student in Oxford, there were lots of stories about him, doing the rounds of OSB and SJ bedrooms! By the way, Coffey at Glenstal was a Killaloe priest. He’s salt of the earth, a really kind genuine guy. No double life for him. He must have heard about Dickie. Don’t know how he puts up with him when they meet.

Brendan Coffey

LATER

Your friend Bill Mulvihill could tell you about the Killaloe priest fuck buddy of Dickie. They are friends and I hear Bill is loyal to him.

“Lugs” Monahan

I had a lot of contact with Bishops House in Ennis before Lugs Monahan came there. That’s how I know about the former PP of Kildysart and his travails at Roscrea.

Someone mentioned Gerard Gillen on here a few days ago, who is not dead. Gillen is a big friend of Dickie and Dickie moves in those Dublin musical circles. Gillen was a big friend of Ledwith too. There’s a clique there. xxxxxxx had a close shave with a male student in Maynooth, bur got away without an official complaint. Be careful with him. He’ll bring out the big guns to defend Dickie if you dig too much.”

LATER

“I had to go quiet. Was warned the big guns gunning for you over Dickie Purse. I didn’t  think I’d be identified as source of info to you, but was naive. The bastards seem to have to their spies in Killaloe. I warned you about Gilken and the musical crowd. The Knights of Columbanus are very powerful. Friends in the police who won’t obey the law. They’ll monitor the blog and breach gdpr snooping on people posting and their ip addresses to locate them. Be careful. They don’t want Dickie going down.

Go easy on the Killaloe priest who was in Roscrea. He’s fragile enough and now in lay life in Dublin. He had the honesty to acknowledge his double life, not our Dickie though.

There was a shagfest near Melleray a few months ago organised by Dickie and some young Dominicans. I see someone else on your blog is on to them. You need to check the Irish OP, in Rome, teaching now at Sant Anselmo, the OSB place. He’s the boyfriend of the xxxxxx there, but that doesn’t stop him screwing any cute hole within 1000 miles. Total slut. I hear too that Dickie has been known to service two of the Glenstal guys and the odd C of I, very ecumenical our Dickie with his dick”.

John Lee was the ex-PP of Barna, and before that chaplain to NUIG, who was laicised following the Salthill beach incident, though there must have bit a bit more to it than that.
What of the late Fr Gerry Garvey? We all know what he died of. Clue: the same thing that took the sem in Maynooth. I wonder what Gerry would be thinking now if the truth could be revealed from his grave.

Like

Frankie Lee. He was never chaplain in NUIG. He was in St Mary’s teaching, the diocesan college, his alma mater, which is where he would have known Gerry Garvey,

‘Corrupt, and riddled with corruption.’ (Historian Dr David Starkey on the institutional Roman Catholic Church).😄

Like

In June 2020, during a podcast interview, Starkey stated that “Slavery was not genocide” because “so many damn blacks” survived. Following these comments, he apologised and resigned or was fired from a number of fellowships and other senior positions, along with his book deals being cancelled, and having his Medlicott Medal withdrawn.

Like

9.13

He was right about the Catholic Church, though.

It owned black slaves, too. Ask the Jesuits of Georgetown University, in The States.

At least, Starkey didn’t own black slaves. Or any slaves, for that matter. 🙄

Oh! Did I mention the white-slave trade? The Church approved that too. What was it a Pope said of the Anglo-Saxon children taken slaves by raiders and sold in Roman markets? 🤔

That they were rightly named Angles, because they had the faces of angels. Something like this.

But it never crossed the mind of ‘His Holiness’ to condemn the evil trade. Of course, why would it have? Didn’t Paul the sainted apostle approve it in his letter to Philemon?

Yes, ‘corrupt, and riddled with corruption’. That’s the Catholic Church. 😀

Like

9.24

Its context is historical and contemporary truth. And this is that the Catholic Church is ‘corrupt, and riddled with corruption’.

Almost every day now this truism is confirmed, along with Starkey’s competence to evaluate evidence. 😀

Your post is an example of the championing of prejudice over truth, subjective opinion over objective evidence.

And now that we know what you look like, imagination over reality.

Yestetday you claimed the Church caused WW1 and WW2.

Pigs and aviation spring to mind.

You naughty s**t stirrer! 😡 I said no such thing about ‘Holy Mother Church’ 😇 and both world wars, and my post on yesterday’s blog objectively 😉 proves it. 😊
As for objective evidence of the corruption in ‘Holy Mother Church’, it’s there in cartloads now; just follow the reek. No need for subjective arbitration here, since the evidence independently speaks for itself. 😅
Sorry to slap you down, yet again; but I did say you were naughty. 😎

Like

9.38 and increasingly self-referential (by talking about yourself talking about naughtiness) 2.10: Paul’s letters weren’t in private envelopes and were as far against slavery as was possible in those days and much more so than usual (he was challenging Philemon to develop a solution rather than micro-dictating one to him). He addresses personal issues within churches such as consideration and peaceful self-assertion. Your usual overkill defeats your actual good point about Georgetown. And Starkey’s quotation in this format, though deeply bland, is apposite of you to bring in. (You remind me of the arch-Romanist, too thinly disguised, who fortunately went away.) Contemporary bishops only dangle politics so much, because they can’t remember what else to teach that’s equally important in addition.

Like

I noticed you have quoted that nasty old anti religion queen David Starkey twice now. He is very impartial isn’t he with his views! An auld racist too after what he said recently about the blacks and slavery. Had to resign his honorary fellowship of Cambridge Uni over the matter. Great role model he is that you quote. What does that tell us about you?

Like

Pat, have you heard anything back from the Abbot General? Is there an Abbot in Roscrea or is Richard Purcell the de hire Abbot of Roscrea, if so surely the monks in Roscrea and staff of the college there and the students and the students parents who pay have a right to know if these allegations have been refuted or what the story is. I’m not sure if the school there is closed though. But surely the monks in roscrea have a right to know as I think he is their Abbot? Have you written to the prior or whoever is looking after things there

‘Degenerate’? 😕

Now there’s a snug-fitting glove for you, Bella. 😅

What else could reasonably be said of a Christian (nominal) who wishes people to Hell, and who gloats at the prospect of their ‘burning’, ‘roasting’ for eternity? 😲

Jesus isn’t pleased with you, Bella. 😠 Those are people he loves, and died for. 😎

No Polly wrong again, what other word for these disciples of satin is there but degenerate. These degenerates bring hell on themselves and it is Our Divine Lord’s own words that they will burn for eternity because Our Lord is not just merciful He is Just, so by their actions they condemn themselves.

Like

12.02

Oh, no Bella! 😶 It is on record (on this blog) that you wished people to Hell and that you gloated at the prospect that they would ‘burn’, ‘roast’ for eternity. You wished evil on these people, whom Jesus loves, and for whom he died. That is a very serious sin; stop trying to spin your wsy out of it. You need to repent, otherwise the sin will press YOU down to Hell. 😈

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil. 😨 Why woe to them? 😮 Because those who think evil is good cannot repent of it. And if they cannot repent evil, then… 😕

You know the answer to this, Bella. And you have not repented. 😎

‘Civilisation’ : what an arcane word! It brings to mind the glorious days of Roman empire-building. All that oppression of native peoples, and their cultures, under the ‘civilising’ influence of Romanist friars and priests. All that plundering of strange lands, and the bodies of different people, including children, by the holy men of God as they condescend to, erm, persuade these grateful folk that gentle Jesus was their saviour.

Odd that you, like Bella at 11.25, are roused not by the sexual acts those words denote, but just by the words themselves. One might think that you and Bella were trying to divert attention from the acts: you know, to cover them up.

Are you an offending priest? And is Bella a cranky, and very old, nun?

The diocese of Dromore, currently under Amy’s leadersip, has a number of MIAs.
Where is Mgr Aidan Hamill, former VG and PP of Lurgan who had to resign following reports of historic abuse.
Andrew McMahon went to Australia. Did he ever come back.
Matthew O’Connell is c/o Bishop’s House. Following his ordination in 1989 he had a brief stint as a curate before embarking on almost two decades of study in TCD, Germany and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, where he trained to be a GP, all the while remaining a priest and occasionally turning up at public Masses. Did the people of Dromore pay for all that study, including the medical training.
He was then spotted as as a doctor in Glasgow though may now be practising in Dublin. It is all a bit unusual for a priest.
Stephen Crossan seems to be well and truly disappeared.

Anon@ 6:53: Perhaps O’Connell is just another priest who quickly realised that the priestly life and its raison d’etre is all a sham. Perhaps he copped on fairly quickly, but also realised the many perks and privileges it could potentially afford him, so he capitalised by undertaking further more useful studies under it’s funding patronage. And of course the stupid hierarchy fell for it hook line and sinker!
At least he may have been quicker on the uptake than those clergy who blindly had “faith” (!!!!) and despite their misgivings, held on until it was too late to opt out, so they remain on as the empty vessels sounding off, …..just like so many found here on +Pat’s blog.
Just wondering like.

Christianity is about having a personal relationship with Jesus and doing his will. The RCC, as it is, is a block to finding Christ.

Like

No it is not, Pat at 10:35am. There are plenty of people in the Catholic Church who have a personal relationship with Jesus and who are doing His Will. They are not in any way “blocked” from Jesus who warned us that scandals would come. He also gave us the parable of the wheat and the weeds. These corrupt bishops, abbots, priests, etc are not the sum total of the Church. There has been scandal and corruption from the get go. The Church continues and the faithful people, priests and laity, get on with living their Christian lives. You ask yourself, Pat, are YOU doing God’s Will? For example, allowing this young Scottish seminarian to be hounded by some vicious lunatic? You allow anonymous persons to come on to your blog and say whatever they like about whomsoever, naming names, without any regard to the truthfulness of what is said or the effect it could have on the person or persons. You allow it to happen. Is that doing God’s Will? You are breaking the 5th and the 8th commandments and you are facilitating others to commit grave sins against charity and justice. It’s diabolical in every sense of that word. Examine your own conscience and take stock of your own behaviour.

Could you send the above message to an RCC bishop, Abbot or priest who would publish it unedited on his diocesan, monastery or parish newsletter?

1.31

Now-now 😬 Don’t be a deceiver. There is no such thing, in the Romanist Church, as having a personal relationship with Christ; you know this very well indeed. Such a relationship would make Jesus, through the exercise of individual conscience, the final and supreme arbiter of good conduct rather than the teaching of ‘Holy Mother Church’. Such a relationship would place the pope and bishops as ‘also-rans’, and their teaching as not necessarily obligatory. We can’t have that now, can we?

Traditionally, Roman Catholicism has defined the exercise of personal conscience as decision INFORMED BY CHURCH TEACHING. This is tantamount to a relationship, not with Jesus Christ, but with the pope and bishops.

Was it the Will of God for deafening silence from the faithful?
Was it the Will of God the weeds, known criminals, to continue

Was it the Will of God for members of the Hierarchy to put the reputation of Holy Mother Church first and foremost while protecting finances.

I have a real difficulty with the argument that corrupt people are not the whole of the church. When I asked my parish priest about this when I was in my teens he told me that the church is holy because it makes unholy people holy so I could expect it to be full of sinners. I think it is difficult to express a belief that the church is holy Sunday by Sunday when it is evident that the scoundrels are not unusual but actually the church is run in a way which is, if not corrupt, virtually criminal.
Priests on here point to odd examples of virtue, but then are arrogant, abusive, foul mouthed, show no suggestion of being shocked by anything which comes up here, and then resort to death threats!
I cannot reconcile what I see in the church with its claim to be holy, and am inclining to a position where the church which calls itself Catholic isn’t the Catholic church because it doesn’t show the notes.
I do know that the church must be indefectible but I can’t see where it is.
Does anyone have any practical suggestions at this point?

1.43: Pat, when you are asked relevant, moral questions and challenging questions are put yo you, have the honesty and integrity to answer them. 1.31 makes very valid points. There are, of course, many, many – millions in fact – who have a deep faith and relatiibship with and in Jesus Christ who make a difference to our communities and world, all who seek to luve the GISPEL of CHRIST. You cannot be so smugly arrogant to dismiss these good, God like people in so dishonourable and cynical way. I feel sad that you always avoid the hard questions and never allow yourself the mirror of gospel transparency. That mirror will reflect your conscience mire honestly. Mercy towards those who fail and who – yes- abysmally fail, morally and spirituly, is a requisite of the GOSPEL and none of us deserve to have nails hammered into our hands. TRUTH, YES but with mercy. That isn’t to hide truth but to express it so that it transforms, changes and effects true “metanoia” in the sinner.

Like

Mercy towards those who ‘fail’, @ 3.24? ‘Fail’ implies ‘tried not to fail’.

This isn’t about men who heroically stumbled morally, like latter-day Christs; it’s about men who willingly, and habitually, dishonour their vows or promises, who serially rape or molest children, who routinely cover up all such behaviour, who by policy go to extraordinary lengths to ringfence Church funds from the victims of sexual and other abuse by priests, etc.

Your mercy call, in practice, is just ‘let’s give Father yet another chance’, no matter what he has done, to whom he has done it, and how many times he offended. It’s casuistry from Hell, and historically it has benefitted ‘Father’ over his victims.

Change the tune, priest.

What it really means is that you’re pissed off that Pat won’t come round to your, erm, truncated opinion. YOUR self-styled ‘gospel transparency’.
One that willingly falls short of the truth. 😕

Like

4.12: No Magna, wrong as ever. I never said or inferred anything of the kind. As per usual you rewrite the narrative of others. In fact I admire Pat’s courage but there are times when he sets himself up as a god that he abrogates to himself a superior moral attitude where, if others- priests – don’t aspire to – or live his vision, they are pummelled into the ground. He cannot measure others against his standards because they too are questionable. But, you, MC, have always misinterpreted and misrepresented others simply because you were denied priesthood and have such a a pathological hatred of priests that your rhetoric should be banned. Surely if Pat makes judgments about others (presumably in light of GOSPEL TRANSPARENCY), they too are entitled to ask similar of him, a challenge which Pat is well able for. He doesn’t need your snake poison tongue to speak for him. And yes, though difficult for you to envision, gospel transparency is what I judge my behaviour against!!! – the way of CHRIST: P.S. – are you still living in Misery Country?

Like

3.24: A good post but Pat is too entrenched in his self belief and arrogance that he will never see the huge planks in his own eyes. The majority of priests i know are decent, good human beings trying to do their level best in ministry, with huge challenges at times and with many personal flaws. There are many factors accounting for discordant and contradictory behaviour by clerics. I do not believe in further inflicting shame or guilt or humiliation on already discredited people. There’s a vicious witch hunt out for certain people. I cannot imagine Jesus commanderring his disciples to become a lynch mob and bring clubs with them to break apart the sinner. There is something very unsettling and questionable about the hate-filled, nasty and vengeful rhetoric of some comments. It’s as if a war has been declared by opposing factions in the presbyterate and some are delighted with the downfall of fellow colleagues. Christ, of course, wants all of us to be people of moral and spiritual integrity but do we need to drag people through the gutter? I’m only asking as I’m not sure about the motivations of some repeat commentators. Some of them have trailer loads of axes to grind and no better place to do so than on this blog.

You’re asking for trouble if you recruit to the priesthood and religious life the gays, who are by nature sex-obsessed, promiscuous, and constantly in search of new sexual encounters, usually with complete strangers.

Asking them to obey the rules of celibacy is setting them up to fail.

Their worship of me

The puff-piece put out by the Irish Bishops Conference press office for Martin Hayes’ consecration as Bishop of Kilmore includes the following statement:

“In August 2001, Father Martin undertook a sabbatical year studying at the Jesuit School of Theology, Berkeley, California, and separately at Tabgha Farm – Centre for Ecology & Spirituality, located in Cessnock, New South Wales, Australia.”

Firstly, what lay person gets a sabbatical. The only people I know to get them apart from priests are academics, supposedly to allow them to research and to write scholarly articles and books.

But why does a country priest need to have a year-long jolly in two continents? With course fees, accommodation, travel, subsistence and sundries that must cost the thick end of €100k. What does the poor laity, who could only dream of such a year, get out of it?

6.06: And thank God we have many good priest who remain very faithful to the ideal of priesthood and ministry. They deserve our support and prayers. These same priests, good human beings are very aware of their ssinfulness and failures but do their utmost in ministry to live the gospel of Christ. Let’s be fair.

Well, I would thank God, if I could find those many good priests. Perhaps they’re in hiding, like the Apostles after Jesus ‘arrest. But-but yes, they are, of course, still good priests. Obviously. 🙄

That Tabgha Farm place in NSW that he went on his world tour is now kaput. It was sold to the Hare Krishnas lol and is now called New Gokola.

They can’t help it, Bp Pat, gays look for gays. The so-called celibates will be worse, they’ll be gagging for it.

117 monks in total in that photo. There were more, 150 monks, just before the wonderful Vatican II, after which they declined rapidly.

Like

Yes. Well, death does have a habit of decimating numbers. Annoying, granted; but that’s life, in a manner of speaking.

What were you gibbering about Vatican II?

Like

Yes. I don’t think the comments yesterday took account of how Vatican 2 affected monasteries, especially as before it life was very rigid indeed. I think the books about Merton give a good account of Cistercian life in the fifties.
Apparently New Melleray Abbey has a gym for the monks because they no longer labour. Can monastic life without physical labour really be called Cistercian? I’d call it at the more comfy end of Benedictine life meself.

Monks died before Vatican II, but monasteries got new members. After Vatican II many monks left and they got far fewer new members.

Was it necessary to humiliate him so publicly like this? Could have privately sent a letter to his superior. Dealing with peoples lives here. Not very Christian.

In my experience, sending letters privately to Bishops, Nuncio’s, etc, is a waste of time, effort and energy.

No doubt his monastery is claiming a charity tax exemption, so their… well, let’s just say, “activities” are of public interest.

Let’s hope he goes the same way as, for example, Rory Coyle, a flat in north London within walking distance of the Tube plus £25,000 a year. It’s only fair.

Any hot slim good looking priests up for party and sex fun in the holylands, Belfast tonight. Young Uni lads in GAA sports gear. We have a bet going here from last night that if one of us gets to shag a priest tonight it’s worth a few quid to us.

Begorra fly scrolling through the comments makes me dizzy.
