THE ACCUSATIONS OF MY ENEMIES AND THE ENEMIES OF THIS BLOG.

Everyday, my enemies, and the enemies of this blog, come on here with their litany of complaints and accusations.

Their litany includes:

1. The accusation that I am guilty of doing myself what I criticise other bishops, priests and monks for doing.

2. The accusation that I lack the compassion of Christ for wrongdoing bishops, priests and monks.

3. The accusation that I am anti Catholic.

4. The accusation that I hate and am full of vengeance.

I feel absolutely no obligation to deal with or answer the accusations of these ANONYMOUS priests and others.

But hey! I have nothing else I want to blog about today.

1. I have been openly and publicly gay for many years. I came out publicly in October 1999 on the front page of the NEWS OF THE WORLD, a newspaper I wrote for at the time.

NEWS OF THE WORLD 10.10.1999

Six years later I published a book about my sexuality and spiritually.

The vast majority of gay priests are secretly gay and many of them are leading double lives. And that is both psychologically and spiritually unhealthy.

Thankfully for many years now I have been totally open and honest about my sexuality.

My congregation and all those I minister to are totally aware of all that I am.

I do not lead a double life.

I have never been to a gay sauna.

Did I experiment years ago as part of my coming to terms with my sexuality. Yes I did. Do I feel guilty about that? No I don’t.

In fact I did in my 40s what most people do at 16 to 20.

But I was too repressed then and full of Catholic guilt. They had fucked my head up too. And I struggled hard to un-fuck it with the help of a couple of good counsellors and therapists.

Every trapped creature gains its freedom through struggle.

LACKING COMPASSION?

I have great compassion for any human being who is suffering.

And I think there is a massive difference between a priest falling in love or acting out of loneliness and a cynical and conscienceless bishop, Abbot and priest, frequenting gay saunas looking for “fresh meat”.

Many of the priests we hear about on this blog are not seeking intimacy, comfort, love etc. They are prowling around like lustful lions looking to devour bodily bits and orifices, using their positions and priesthood as bait.

They are also forming circles of lust to facilitate gay origies.

And all the time, cynically pretending to be celibate and chaste.

I have every compassion for any man or woman struggling with any human weakness.

But please don’t ask me to feel compassion about lies, cynicism, double standards and cover up.

ANTI CATHOLIC?

I am 100% anti the Roman Catholic institution because it is 100% corrupt in every way.

But I am not anti Catholic.

I am a Catholic. I treasure the Eucharist and the other sacraments.

I like Catholic liturgy and ceremony.

I can find endless inspiration in Catholic spirituality.

I have spent 34 years now as an independent Catholic.

I regard the RCC and many of its clergy and members as anti-Christ in so many ways.

I have thrown away the dirty water but kept the baby.

HATE AND VENGENCE?

Anybody who knows me will tell you I am not a hateful and vengeful person.

But as Christians are we not supposed to “hate” and oppose evil, injustice, corruption, abuse, sin, lies, deceit, materialism, abuse of power, misogyny, prejudice, violence, etc?

I find all these things in lorry loads in the RCC.

I hate all these things

THE ROLE THE BLOG PLAYS

When people accuse me of washing Catholic dirty linen in public, I always reply:

“Well, give me a laundry room WITHIN where I can wash it”.

The RCC has no proper forum for people to debate and discuss all the burning issues.

In fact debate and discussion is forbidden.

So, this blog us one place people can express their views, differences, complaints hurts etc.

And that is why its important and good.

Those who oppose and dislike the blog are those who want to cover up all that is going on.

“Men have shown that they prefer the darkness to the light”.

I will keep the lights on here for as long as I am able and God allows.

A MYSTERY PICTURE

Can anyone identify any of the guys in this old pic?

Pat, Monty has told Elsie in private apparently that you and your blog are stalking him and making his life a misery. How we know this is because the Westminster clergy are talking about it and they are talking about it because Monty has been blabbing it around. I am sure Elsie has bigger fish to fry. Some clergy doubt such a meetimg ever took place.

Like

For those of us who know Monty and have been the subject of his constant gossip I cannot see a meeting like this with Vinny. It’s more likely His Eminence asked to see him as has been the case so many times – how many chances can you give a person? If this were to be true then Vinny would want to know what warranted Monty being mentioned on the blog in the first place. There is no way Monty will want to draw attention to the fact he was gossiping again, Vinny has warned and scolded him before about this and delayed his diaconate for one year. This came after the drunken Lourdes incident when Monty made claims about Alan Hopes, Stewart Wilson, Jim Curry, Martin Hayes and others. Monty never learns.

Like

He should never have ordained this “Monty”. Nichols and his ilk are responsible for inflicting these utter wastes of space upon parishes and the Church. It’s the people who suffer – not these worthless cardinals and bishops. St Bernard warned the Pope of his day that he would go to hell for appointing bad bishops. Elsie and co (eg Portsmouth) are ordaining unsuitable men who, very soon after they are ordained, cause havoc, scandal and become a complete liability.

Bp Pat in “A thorn in the flesh” you report how many clergy have thanked you for doing what their own channels were too choked or not flexible enough to do. Namely you are helping the Roman church and not hindering them. Rome thinks the Bible says “In the beginning was Rome” and ends with the Eternal City. But Catholic is bigger than just Rome. Rome would like to strike an image of perfection but it would come over better if it was grateful, semi-humble and realistic.
If Rome forgets communion, it’s not the rest of us that are out of step. Lay people can still sit in a pew and sit out of Eucharist. Some priests preach well and Catholics proclaim lots of Scripture (gabbled of course) and we have the Lord’s Prayer. Unlike Islam, being present isn’t binding oneself. Religion used to be thought to be in the internal forum, prior to JP II.
I think there has been a trend to appoint a lot of silly men as VDs who talk (i.e pressure) men who were only asking an open-ended question, “do I have a vocation to priest” into entering. The only testimony we seem to hear is “I became priest because otherwise I wouldn’t be a Christian” or “because I wanted to be an intense colossus like JP II”, things that don’t help us. I think it would be a kindness to make more enquirers into permanent deacons to allow men to retain their own creative profession.

The guy on the left bears a striking resemblance to Michael J Byrne.
You tell them it like it is, love. Historians in the future can look at this blog to see how ridiculous they are. I hope you back it up at the internet archive.
The enemies of this blog actually want to turn the clock back to the stage where the state of the church was just beginning to come out. But now the cat is out and their only resort is to deny and blame everyone else.
You are also probably the only internet site which will let virtually any opinion comment, with the result they start fighting amongst themselves like they did yesterday. They look silly and it doesn’t help any of them.
Your enemies also deliberately miss the simple fact that their days of power have gone, and won’t grapple with the way the world sees them – as a dangerous cult whose clergy are kiddy fiddler’s.
Oh dear, there I go hating again. I could bite my tongue out.
The only thing I would take issue with is you didn’t mention that actually virtually none of the clergy live by the church’s sexual ethic. Strictly speaking even masturbation is against the rules. They can’t live by them because nobody can.

@ 4.17, my point? I thought the whole point of being gay was to be attracted to men. So why do many gay men go out of their way to feminise their appearance? Byrne has clearly had his caterpillar eybrows plucked and shaped, just like a woman’s. Hardly manly. So is he trying to attract straight men?

This BBC item, about the loneliness of priests, features Fr Chris Ferguson, Derry’s vocations director, who wishes he could get married. Lol.
He’s a great VD – the message is “be like me and be sad and discontented because you can’t get married”.
Why do they say that? Nobody forced them to enter a seminary. There is no conscription. They were psychologically tested and found fit enough to enter, they were prodded and probed for six or seven years by deans, spiritual directors and spiritual directors who found them ready for ordination.
Then, at the age of 25 (not 17 or 18), they signed publically a statement written in their own hand that they wanted to be a priest. They knew that marriage was off the table so should not have sought ordination with such doubts.
He says he knows 10 priests who within a few years of ordination left to have relationships. A carefully chosen word. Not married. I wonder how many of those relationships were with men?

That’s the same with any job. For example, a person joining an army knows that they have to keep fit and be ready to go to war. A person who is an unfit pacifist wouldn’t join an army, complain about its requirements, campaign from within and hope that the martial requirement will be removed at the stroke of a pen while they are in the army. Their recruiting sergeant would tell them not to join because they’d be unhappy and restless.

I agree with 9.16 and 9.27 but while press gangs have gone out of fashion in the military of some countries we have to wonder about the covert RCC strategy. Originally good young men but overly influenced by sentimentalism, cave into eyelash-flutterers who project onto themselves and enquirers a perceived “need” of Mother Church (rather than letting God look after the Church) and make them forget they would be equally well suited to excellence in just as many outside professions, especially where there aren’t so many institutionalised personalities (including self-imported ones) breathing down each other’s necks.

Once exposed to a downhill atmosphere inside, they may find themselves stunted. One can always turn priest at 50 or 60 (or deacon if one hammers on the door loud enough) and as for layman we need to invent new models for that (& I mean completely new – perhaps Chautard will inspire someone?) I see exceedingly fine potential in the portraits we are shown.

Church should teach lay folks more about prudence and discernment. Indeed those were Nicomachean Virtues almost 2,400 years ago. Also about Holy Spirit power for caring, rather than all the literalist posing. Incidentally I believe the proportion of rather clean priests is higher than some say but still sadly low. I think church authorities are beginning to realise they were brought up on a more dumbed-down product than even some of their most fringe parishioners.

I wonder do they have to give the “Yes, I’d love to be married, but the Church won’t let me” answer in response to a stupid question from a journalist because the real answer is a bit harder – “No, I’m not the marrying kind, so I don’t miss it at all. I wanted to be a priest a long time and everybody knows we don’t marry. I chose this life freely. The single life is hard at times, but so is married life, as many people have told me. Because I’m single I know I have to work a bit harder to keep my friendships and family relationships going, and I wish that people would treat me as a friend as well as a priest, but I have the prayers and support of my great parish community, and moments of great joy in serving as a priest.”

I would say that on the third charge they level against you, that you are anti Catholic, you would have to plead guilty, for to be Catholic is to be corrupt. But I support you in your rejection of the terrible things that the Church has been involved in, the chief of them is violating the innocence of young children, and then to deny this abuse at every level of the Church Hierarchy and to facilitate the continued violation of more infants by these supposedly ‘holy ones’. We have a human duty to bring up our off-spring up to be adults and never treat them as ‘mere things’ to relieve our own desires on them. What a betrayal that act is. We tell them that we love them, but what does love mean? It means that we forgo our own desires and needs for the needs and desires or those we love, so that the lover and the loved are united in mutual recognition. That is why people in a position of power – even as adults (film directors and innocent young actresses; young would be priests and their professors in seminaries, have no right to be violated). As Immanuel Kant said: we must always treat others as ends, never as means! Love, which is so important to a child, must never be used as a means or relievIng the physical desires of those who are in charge of them. But where two adults, recognising the the needs in each other, whether they are same sex or opposite sex, they must only engage in those acts which have the full consent of the other. Where love exists there can be no sin,
Fourthly. You are right. You are absolutely under no obligation to deal with, or answer, your anonymous accusers, but conversely, they are under a civic obligation to explain the corruption and brutalisation they promote. They refused to teach normal love to their followers. They banned books on biology; they forbid divorce to those who had made a mistake in their choice of partner; yet for a fee they would dissolve marriages and turn mother into sinners and their offspring into the ‘products of sin‘. They created orphans wherever they went in an industrial scale by wresting babies from their mothers and then selling them to infertile Catholics elsewhere, while burying others who died as a result of neglect. They promoted the violation of the sanctity of the family, presiding over fathers turnIng their daughters on to the street if they got pregnant before marriage. A bourgeois young woman, impregnated by a married country councillor in the same town in Ireland where I came from, disappeared when I was about twelve years of age. I never saw her for some fifty years, until as a bag lady in Whitechapel, she called out my name and asked me if i remembered her. I had indeed, and almost wept to see what she had been reduced to. And her family pretended all the while that she was fine in London. She was anything but fine, as she never got over the loss of her child.
I never saw my own mother again, after the nuns took her from me in a dublin orphanage in 1944, until I found her grave in Wisconsin, USA. Bishop Martin claimed during 1916 Remembrance that priests were not given enough of credit during the rebellion. What had Jesus to do with that murderous episode? Is it any wonder that the churches are emptying with all this double-think? Keep up your good work exposing the wickedness they perpetrate. You are making us all think and a God who is not reasonable is not worthy of worship.

Call it “RCC” all you like and engage in whatever semantics you like, Pat – the Eucharist and the Sacraments you claim to “treasure” you would not have without the Catholic Church – the universal Catholic Church with all of its different rites – but all united in communion with Peter’s successor, the Pope.

Not one of those Sacraments would you have without the Church, so you are not an “independent” Catholic. You are a malcontent priest with a massive chip on your shoulder who is spitting both inside and outside the tent. Your pretensions and antics are ridiculous. You are pretending at so many levels.

There is no “RCC” there is only Christ’s Church comprised of sinners like yourself and myself. Yes, there is corruption and always has been from Day One. But there is also great goodness to which you have become blind.

Now I think some of that is understandable because you had the misfortune to encounter some real scoundrels; but really, you also need to take some responsibility yourself for how things currently are.

You still belong, Pat, whether you like it or not, whether your “enemies” like it or not. Yes, corruption and wrongdoing does have to be called out and exposed so as to be removed BUT you need to critically apprise your methods and the real dangers your blog poses through anonymous claims and allegations which cannot be substantiated and which may in some cases be malicious lies. Someone with an axe to grind or a vendetta can anonymously slander an innocent person on your blog. That is not Christian. That is Antichrist.

I pray that some day your differences and difficulties will be resolved. God bless you, Pat.

Sacraments are just rites by the Church; they are not grace.

Grace comes from God, not the Church, and grace is not dependent on sacramental rites.

You confused the two.

We have nothing to thank the Church for in this regard.

I’m reading Fr Chris Ferguson differently about celibacy. He says from a faith perspective we are meant to be in a relationship. If your faith tells you that, then celibacy is wrong and you should get out.
Seriously a vocations director with a perspective which is way off celibacy?
On the other hand the more priests trumpet that view the more ridiculous it will look and the faster the church will collapse, so it can’t be all bad.
You wouldn’t become a baker and go around saying bread is wrong.

Like

Very good point. Fr Ferguson said:
“Even coming from a faith perspective, it’s clear we are made to be in a relationship.”
That must mean that the Church is deliberately thwarting God’s will that people are meant to be a relationship. Fr Ferguson didn’t say “have relationships” i.e. close friends and acquaintances, but be “in a relationship”.

Bella, do you think at all? Read the Second Creation Account, in Genesis: ‘Then the Lord said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” ‘ (Genesis 2: 18)
You know exactly what Ferguson meant.
People need God, but they need also other people.
The Catholic Church, from self-interest and from an 11th or 12th century hang-up about marital sex, imposed celibacy on priests. It has gravely damaged many ever since; and not just priests, but those on the receiving end of their psychological and spiritual dysfunctionality.

Some people on Twitter are claiming that the Irish government is about to again suppress the celebration of Mass with a congregation. It may be fake news, but if it is true it will deliver a hammer blow to church finances.

Like

It has already been a hammer blow to church finances. A further curtailment of Masses will not change what has already happened. Some parishes have adapted to this situation well in terms of standing orders but others have not and admitted defeat. There is no going back and the reality is people now prefer online Mass. Even Pat has moved in that direction.

If you believe that Scripture is divinely inspired, then you’ll know that you, and your church, are chronically and seriously out of line with God’s wisdom in Genesis: that it is not good for man to be on his own, that is, devoid of human relationship. Even God knows that he is not sufficient for human beings on, which is why he inspired those words in the Second Creation Account, words which you are intentionally ignoring. You are guilty of the pride that drove Lucifer into rebellion, and HELL 😈, the self-delusion that he knew better than God.

Pat, the “baby in the bath” is a Catholic – not a so-called “independent Catholic”. Call it “Roman” Catholic if you wish, the “baby” is a Catholic. You know that deep down. That’s why you don’t attempt to invent or formulate your own rites. That’s why you still follow the Catholic rites of the Mass and Sacraments.

Like

Actually there is usually a different reason for that among independent bishops. Existing rites have always been used by them (and the Roman rite referred to as the western rite) because the independent episcopacy movement has always cherished an ideal of unity. In fact the Order for Corporate Reunion had unity as its whole point.

The Roman Catholics can’t cope with the way someone else has run off with the word Catholic and it isn’t their sole ownership.
But I have news for you, your empire has ended and people are seeking Catholicity elsewhere. Nowadays some of them even claim to be the real Catholic church (and you’re not) and thus using your own argument against you.

You claim to be an icon of the gospel of Christ – and I’m sure you seek to be such – but invariably your words, attacks, judgments, harrassment of others, to the point of driving some to the “edge” – and I know this to be true – are all destructive of the essence of Jesus’ approach. ‘Catholic values’ of compassion, understanding, mercy, kindness and tolerance are NOT
the essence of the behaviour of many clerics and hierarchs in the Church.
If such was the case, the Church would not be in its current imploding mess.
Lives are ruined all due to abuse, it’s subsequent cover up, justified with the supposedly protecting the reputation of ‘Holy Mother Church’. Bishops were primarily protecting members of the clerical fraternity as well as finance. It is well documented.
The hypocrisy is nauseating. ‘Catholic values’ can be suspended willy nilly when the occasion calls for it. Running to confession followed the occasion of abuse, corrupt behaviour and crime. We’ve had that attitude reflected on this blog within the last few days.

If I look at the body calling itself the Catholic church, and know that the notes of the church are that it is one, Catholic and apostolic, but I don’t see those notes there, I must be forced to think that the Catholic church is elsewhere.
How am I going to reconcile the notes with the bunch of bickering, criminal, corrupt and deviant people who run this show?
I didn’t get any convincing reply and wonder what the commenters above would answer if I said, you say you are the Catholic church but I am not satisfied by you saying it, I need to see it.

Your question will, of course, be ignored by all the priests and Cathbots who post here, because they are too busy being good.

5.48: At last you get it….Why would good priests be bothered with your type…..we are too busy doing our good work as required of us. You are so right!! Fool.

Don’t look at the bunch of bickering, criminal, corrupt and deviant people who run this show.
Look to Jesus Christ, the Gospel of Life, and the Word of God. Develop a deep personal spiritual/ prayer life. Study spirituality. Find a supportive faith community or prayer group.
Some of the characters posting are clueless of deep spirituality.

Fr David Reilly indeed 4.28pm!! Big connection with the young Baz being ordained by Elsie tomorrow. Poor bastard Axcel being posted near the runway at Stansted. Our Alex gets posted instead to the eternal city.

Hey 6:54, your needlessly aggressive comment is a toxic mix of arrogance and stupidity. Bishop’s Stortford is about 4 miles from Stanstead. Both are in the county of Hertfordshire. The county of Hertfordshire is in the diocese of Westminster.
Here is a map.

You will find Westminster takes in Bishops Stortford, Herts, which is virtually near Stansted. It borders Brentwood diocese.

7.09, from the horse’s mouth. Fr David has written in his parish newsletter this weekend that Axcel is being assigned to Bishops Stortford. If you are correct, then Fr Reilly has been misinformed or Elsie has changed her mind.

Like

8.26pm Yes he is wrong. I’m sure the PP of Bishop Stortford knows better who he is getting and gives a different name in his newsletter!! That’s the horse’s mouth!

8.43pm, yes indeed, your horse is correct. Fr David has got mixed up. There is a big reshuffle of APs. Borehamwood AP is moving to Bishops Stortford. The BS one is going to Highbury. If only the Clergy Moves list was made public, as it used to be, we would not have all this confusion. A journalist should always have two reliable sources. Does anyone know where Fr Axcel has been assigned?

If 5:33 really doesn’t know what tight arsed means, 5:40’s comment would be a good place to get an understanding.
Constipated, as well. I can see the straining.

Bishop investigate the clergy gay sex ring within Westminster. Most clerical products of its Seminary in Chelsea have been promiscuous with fellow sems and staff. That may shock you. Tomorrow we will see Elsie ordain men knowing full well they are gay. The big mystery is why Elsie chooses to do this? He chooses to surround himself with ex Anglicans and gay priests

When Allen Hall was at St Edmunds College in Ware it was a different story for those of us there at that time. It’s now a private school. When it moved to Chelsea the rot set in because the gay temptations were in yout face.

Taggart and co. Any news on Fr Neil McGarrity who was suspended after being arrested and charged for sex offences? What about Fr John Sweeney locked up for allegedly sleeping with a school girl? Any updates on the gays up in Glesgay? Big J with the pinkie ring and a certain high profile Priest who shares a bed with Paisley Priest and others in Glasgow? All gone quiet! 😂

Evening all. Didn’t know I had a fan club. Welcome to my first member.
1. He has been charged and is released under investigation. Much as I and most clergy here loathe him, he is innocent until proven otherwise. Living in Diocesan property.
2. Made his first appearance in court and is on bail. Trial is in Jan 2021. Word is that his accuser is a nutter. Residing with parents.
3. Big Nellie is still camp as a row of tents and is supplying. My favourite preacher!
4. They split up but he still likes them young.
