ARCHBISHOP WEAKLAND’S BOYFRIEND / VICTIM TAUGHT IN GLENSTAL!!!

Weakland

Rembert George Weakland OSB (born April 2, 1927) is

Rembert George Weakland OSB (born April 2nd 1927 is an American Benedictine monk who served as Archbishop of Milwaukee from 1977 to 2002. Shortly before his mandatory retirement at the age of 75, it was revealed in the press that Weakland had conducted a sexual relationship with a male associate, Paul Marcoux, several decades before, and that the diocese had paid $450,000 to Marcoux to settle litigation arising from the affair

Sexual abuse scandal

Further information: Sexual abuse scandal in Catholic archdiocese of Milwaukee

In 1984, Weakland responded to teachers in a Catholic school who were reporting sexual abuse by local priests by stating “any libelous material found in your letter will be scrutinized carefully by our lawyers.”[citation needed] The Wisconsin Court of Appeals rebuked him for this, calling his remarks “abrupt” and “insensitive”.In 1994, Weakland said those reporting sexual abuse were “squealing”. He later apologized for the remarks.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a deposition released in 2009 revealed that Weakland shredded reports about sexual abuse by priests. Weakland admitted allowing priests guilty of child sex abuse to continue as priests without warning parishioners or alerting the police.Weakland stated in his autobiography that in the early years of the sexual abuse scandal he did not understand that child sexual abuse was a crime

Retirement and scandal

Weakland retired on May 24, 2002, at the mandatory retirement age of 75. His retirement was overshadowed by revelations that he paid $450,000 of diocesan funds to prevent a lawsuit.Weakland stepped down soon after it was revealed that the diocese had paid $450,000 to Paul Marcoux, a former Marquette University theology student, to settle a claim he made against the archbishop more than two decades earlier stemming from a long-term relationship with Weakland. Weakland admitted to the affair and apologized after the story broke. He came out as gay in 2009, disclosing his sexuality in his memoir A Pilgrim in a Pilgrim Church: Memoirs of a Catholic Archbishop.
Since his retirement, Weakland has twice been invited to move to Benedictine abbeys in the United States, but both invitations were eventually rescinded.

Removal of name from Archdiocese of Milwaukee

In March 2019, it was announced that Weakland, along with former archbishop William Cousins, would have his name removed from buildings in the archdiocese in response to his poor handling of sex abuse cases. The Weakland Center, which houses parish offices and outreach initiatives, was renamed on March 22, 2019.

MARCOUX AT GLENSTAL

Some comments submitted yesterday:

PAT SAYS

I am continuing to receive comments about Glenstal and some members of the community that give credence to Gregory Collins’ assertion that Glenstal is a gay community.

Someone with pubic lice?

Several with “lovers”?

Someone too fond of cameras?

Is Glenstal a posh guest house for mature gay men?

And on the more global scale – is the Benedictine order a mainly gay order?

As my Dad used to say:

“God be with the days when men were men and pansy was the name of a flower” 🤐

THE RICHARD PURCELLL CASE

The preparation of the Roman case re Richard Purcell is nearing completion and will be lodged in the coming days.

The Dominicans must be very spiritual. They haven’t been mentioned at all in this sorry saga and that must be why they attract so many vocations.

How exactly can a case be lodged isn’t it only the Church that initiates cases and what is the actual process

Good God, Glenstal is a cesspool, and seemingly, most of the Order of Saint Benedict. The Mark Kirby debacle is like a string being pulled which seems to be unravelling what’s left of monastic Ireland. And that is not a bad thing, because it’s rotten to the core. All of this is serving a providential purpose, but, damn, it is not pleasant to watch.

2.29am: Rotten to the core is way OTT….and a LIE. Obviously your late night, early morning drinking blurs the TRUTH for you.

In anotherr entry to the “you couldn’t make it up”, one of the reasons abuse-enabler Weakland was unable to retire to a Benedictine monastery (he was turned away by two) was that a monk in his proposed new home was laicised for the usual and the monastic community was said to be in turmoil.

Mr McGarry must know the announcement is due very very very shortly and Supposedly this very week, but they really only have tomorrow left if this week.

He was the man who spent $10 million wrecking Milwaukee cathedral, including putting up a roundel of his face gazing at the altar and a sculpture with him in it. What a narcissist.
The sheep had a whipround and reimbursed the archdiocese for the €450k handed over to the boyfriend.
Weakland has been airbrushed out, with his name removed from diocesan offices that had been named after him, and at Mass, when they name all the living bishops resident in the diocese, his name is left out.
He should have stuck at being a monk.

Roman Catholic priesthood, religious order and monastic life, is these days predominantly a homosexual culture. The reasons for this are many and varied and have been aired before on this blog. I suppose we could worry that this picture does not reflect the reality of the Church as a whole, but in itself it is not necessarily a situation that is bad in itself. It only becomes something bad when a section of these homosexual men in the priesthood, religious or monastic life begin to act out their inclinations in opposition to their professed way of life, or even worse in dysfunctional, manipulative, abusive ways. I have no problem accepting these men and their – to quote Pat’s father – ‘pansy’ world if it ends there, but when they move in to negative behaviour as we hear described endlessly on this blog, then their behaviour is not only damaging to themselves, to those they misuse and abuse, but also to the wider Church It is for this reason that calling out this behaviour is important. it should be challenged. What we challenge is not the inclination and the harmless colour and interest these men bring to the Church, but the toxic and corrosive level of behaviour that some of them take things to – the Purcells, the Collins, the Brennikmeyers, the McCarricks, and so many more. The inclination, the flamboyance, the interest, the amusement, the talents that the majority of homosexually inclined clergy bring to the Church is something to be celebrated. However, there are too many who cross the line in to abusive and destructive behaviour. Those are the focus of blog like this, and they should continue to be a focus.

I’m wondering if my priest is a homosexual – he’s a bit fey, likes flower arranging, has a ‘friend’ who is always staying over, has a leaning towards traditionalist liturgy and vestments and trawls eBay and other sites to snap up vintage vestments and church furnishings, resorts to hard line interpretation of Catholic dogma and morals from the pulpit, but is generally harmless otherwise. I think we’ve just got used to him, and know that he’s probably all that is on offer. Ah, how I miss the days of the hard drinking, hard living, parish priests of years ago. But then they were probably bullies and abusers, it appears. My solution is women. Ordain women, as well as men, and the thing will balance out and we could get some sort of representative mix in our priests. Until that happens, I think we are heading further and further in to the gay, gueenie, lacy, queer world of homosexual priests.

All nuns are lesbians, bullies or both, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up. The gays featured on this blog are liberals, on the whole. Eg Weakland, Uncle Ted, Tobin, Coccopalmerio, Basil, Rory, McCamley, Gorgeous etc. I think Mark Kirby is the first trad exposed by the blog.

Most Anglican Female Priests have short grey hair and speak with an authoritative deep voice because they are trying to do the job of a man.
Real women should stay behind the scenes.

Mark Kirby is the second trad, the first was Sadie, but her traditionalism is pretend and she was dead liberal originally

10.12 liking flower arranging and vintage vestments doesn’t make anyone “a homosexual”, in any denomination. As for sometimes having company you’ll have to be cast iron. Persons who aren’t wrong are right. If he’s right that doesn’t put him in a disputed category. Whose waters are you wanting to muddy? You want to make your parish more representative by excluding men from flower arranging and sociability. You’re obviously not interested in religion, but manufacturing innuendo in other people’s lives that don’t concern you.

The repeat excuse of men who have spent years studying philosophy and theology including moral theology.
Again the difficult (for the faithful) issue comes up that their pastors have among them several dodgy ones who have ended up in the public eye, with the chorus of nobody knew, that’s an odd case, there are good ones. When an institution so consistently produces iffy sexual behaviour at the slightest examination it is simply rotten. What makes it rotten to the core is everyone knows and these connections and networks keep appearing.
You also have a canonised Saint who in recent years facilitated abuse.
The religious bit is just a sideshow and you all know this full well.

Pat, we urgently need a wee Scottie Day to life everyone’s hearts and spirits after all these dirty monks.
A day devoted, solely, wholly and entirely, to Scotties when they can bitterly wail, loudly lament, imprecate, bemoan the state of the world, denounce all and sundry, shake their tightly clenched wee fisties, greet their wee eyes oot, pour out the contents of their constricted wee hearts and generally recount every single one of their complaints and ills.
Och it’ll be great fun, Pat. Just what the doctor ordered for all our woes. We could drink wee drams all day to the late Inspector Hamish of happy and blessed memory.

Apropos very posh UK Catholic schools why is Stonyhurst never mentioned on this blog? Is it too pure for this blog or is it that its legal defences are too scary even for the regular ferreters often featured here..?

Long time ago, but Fr Jock Earle SJ, ex headmaster of Stoneyhurst and SJ Provincial was eventually caught out for certain proclivities whilst in the Stoneyhurt group of schools – I think it was the prep school. I can remember Earle coming to our prep school to interview us for entrance to Stoneyhurst ( I went elsewhere in the end to a much more chipper place than Stoneyhurt !), and it was like a God descending on us. He was really the Queen Bee. And, all the time, he was fiddling with kiddies in his spare time.

Labels!

It’s interesting how much the human race likes labels! We want to associate ourselves, our children, our churches, our families, our work and so many other areas of our life, with a label….something that we can quickly use to define ourselves…..to distinguish ourselves from others.

Why? That is a question that I have pondered for a long time. I Corinthians talks about this in quite a bit of detail. It seems that the Corinthian church faced some challenges with unity in their church because so many were quick to use labels.

I Corinthians 1: 12-13

Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.”

Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

and later in I Corinthians 2: 1-5 Paul goes on to say:

And I, brethren, when I cam to you, did not come with excellence of speech ofr of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Interesting re Weakland. In case if you didn’t know that Fr Lawrence Murphy, who is believed to have abused well over 200 deaf children at a school for the deaf in the US. There is a movie called maxima mea culpa. A hard hitting, powerful documentary. That is that moment I realised that rcc was a sort of fraud, not real nor true Church nor very Christian cis they ignored deaf kids pleas re Weakland from 1977 to his retirement. You could probably guess what fr murphy was good at was raise fundraising money.

Then I thought about it ah, Church was thinking about money. Then I rem a bible story about jesus telling the disciples to visit homes, take no money just stay at their homes if they welcome you, if not, shake off your shoe with dust I can’t exactly rem bible quote.

Then in the midst of pandemic, people had seen rcc begging with govt to be back in cos no money or short of money.

One thing was clear some people will not come back to rcc after this. One or two priest online acted as if it was a show not a mass.

Not of deaf people don’t go to mass cos they had seen abuses themselves in deaf schools run by Catholic institutions religious. It’s a hypocrite, double standards et al. I believe the church is where two or three people gather and pray but not institutional Church.

Don’t think that jesus had intended for that institutional church. No biblical scripture on this. Canon law is a collection or bunch of golf club rules nothing more than that. It’s another version of company law. John Paul II covering it up for Marciel and becoming a Saint. You couldn’t make it up. This is hypocrisy par excellence coming from the rcc.
I often wondered about the early days of the church with no institutional such as elders, no priest nor Bishop or cardinals mentioned in the bible.

Dermot Farrell is not the right guy for Bishop of Dublin. He’s related to ex maynooth now new ager speaker ex monsignor ledwith. He’s a yes man and also company man as well. He reminded me of Timothy dolan cos he’s v good at hiding money and extracting money to a company such as this – A New York Times editorial has described as “shocking” revelations that the Cardinal Archbishop of New York, Timothy Dolan, while archbishop of Milwaukee, moved $57 million off the archdiocesan books into a cemetery trust fund six years ago to prevent the money being paid to victims of clerical child sex abuse.Jul 5, 2013.
Also because Dublin diocese sold lands to gaa for some 95 millions. The Vatican reckoned that Farrell meet their criteria re handling money and avoid paying out to abuse victims. If that is the case, Ireland rcc is running off the cliff with nowhere to return to. Hence the demise of rcc.

Not fogetting the awful case of the Provolo Institute. Fr Corradi, known abuser at a school for deaf and blind children was moved to Argentina, where he abused again in a similar statement. Victims and campaigners have long said that teflon-man Francis ignored that and other abuse in his homeland.

I don’t know what you’re all moaning about. Canon law has been flagrantly disregarded and the miscreants should be removed from the clerical state immediately.
Dom Coffey has broken two important canons,
1753 Don’t put anything in writing because you’ll regret it and
1754 Always make sure someone else can plausibly be blamed.
In this the bishop of Meath is obviously an exemplar.
The abbot general has broken a canon, violation of which is absolvable only by the pope:
1755 Do not under any circumstances tell Pat Buckley anything.
The case will be closed in about five minutes. Disgraceful behaviour.
