HAS ANYONE SEEN RYAN Mc ALEER OF DUNGANNON?

Mc Aleer

Ryan McAleer, up until recently, lived in the parochial house in Dungannon in Co. Tyrone, was Amy Martin’s primary school adviser and was the VF – the vicar forane of the Dungannon clergy area.

Now, he has disappeared and is listed as gone to do post graduate studies – whatever and wherever that is?

Notice there is no name of the college where he is studying and no address for the college or even the subject he is studying.

One Armagh source made the claim the other day saying: “He is gone to stay with Rory in London”.

I fact that Armagh source is wrong. I had it confirmed this morning that Ryan is not in London.

One correspondent, below, says he is in Leuven.

My understanding is that Rory, by Amy’s arrangement is living with a religious order in London and doing volunteer work with the London Irish community?

It seems that Ryan, like Rory and Thomas McHugh (aka Tomasina) are all favourites of Sean The Wounded Healer Brady.

Thomas and Ryan ordained the same day.

This blog and its author has a special interest, at this time, for knowing the whereabouts of Ryan McAleer.

Pat, they were Brady’s boys so leave them alone. Amy has, however, kept them close to her bosom. Follow the money on this one, can of worms springs to mind and Tyrone/Derry Clerical individuals are in the epicentre of a big scandal.

Sean “Did you enjoy being abused by Brendan Smith” Brady is the ghost of Christmas past, no one wants to be associated with him, unfortunately he doesn’t get that at all! Eamon Martin should grow a pair and instruct him to keep as low a profile as possible preferably in sackcloth and ashes. Brady thinks he was badly treated and doesn’t feel that he did anything wrong, in his brain the holy priest was seduced by Satan in the child. The sight of him posing on the stage with Francis was sickening, the realization that he was allowed to do that was equally sickening and speaks volumes about Eamon’s ineptitude and failure to control his clergy. Best solution Eamon is to send him off to Rome for further studies, out of sight out of mind, he can spend his time in obscurity counting the number of angels dancing on the pin of a needle. For God’s sake Eamon show a bit of leadership and direction!!!!

It’s interesting this one move to Leuven was not
announced officially as part of the Armagh clergy changes last year.

I ABHOR the MIA. And I should know, I was MIA myself as a young priest until I went to a support group.
Now I understand the phenomenon fully and nobody can tell me about it.

Like

Don’t question me, I’m a priest, have been to support groups and have an understanding you will never have.

Leuven, very nice! Not far from a big gay scene in Brussels and has an Irish College where lots of MIA’s stay. Home to Stella Artois, a Pontifical University, an ideal place to hang/hide out. Elsie sends some of her men there to get them out of the way

Like

Most people think that Stella is French. Nope. It’s Belgian. French speaking Belgian, but still Belgian. Wife beater stuff, if you have too much, they say. But, I doubt if many of Elsie’s or Amy’s MIAs in Louvain / Leuven would know that ! I doubt if they are able to go out so much for fresh air and exercise – hhhmmm ? – at the moment because the lockdown in Belgium is pretty fierce presently. Better off in Alice Hall or somewhere like that around London within easy reach of Hampstead Heath. Apparently, the police are quite relaxed about a bit of al fresco cruising there even with lockdown, as long as you don’t scare the horses, and don’t make the group session too large or too noticeable. We all have our crosses to bear….. !

Talking about MIA, I haven’t seen our lovely Fr Peter saying Mass for the last week, at least since Sunday 10th. I wonder if he has been ‘furloughed’ from saying Mass at present because of his rather gauche joke about breasts ?! Yes, breasts ! Can you believe it ?! Have a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58_6ifZjbmw and go to 13:20, beginning of the sermon and listen to the story. Bit odd. Anyhow, maybe he will reappear. Hope so. I do so look forward to him saying such a lovely Mass.

I didn’t think it was either. but I could not bring myself to listen to the whole homily 🤧

@10.09am Hampstead Heath is overrated and too far out on the northern line from Chelsea for a quick shag. It’s not the only cruising ground in London anyhow. The number 11 bus delivers sems directly to the main fleshpots of Soho. If you walk to World’s End one bus takes some sems to brompton cemetery at night.

The punch line is definitely about breasts – breast size 8 again, she says. Not 8 years old. Listen carefully ! Anyhow, I don’t think anybody laughed. Cringe !

I think she said DRESS SIZE 8

I don’t know a great deal about female anatomy but a cup size 8 would be a pimple 😅

I had a dream last night that I hated my job, was unhappy in my work but my boss was great and allowed me to go abroad to a nice city for further study and then to do a bit of volunteering in London, all expenses paid.
Then I woke up and remembered that I’m a layman and my shift starts at 10.30.

Is there something in the water where young McAleer is from in Tyrone where a young CC had hanky panky with a married man and had to leave the parish as a result and sent to a quiet Co. Armagh parish.

How much study does a diocesan priest need? It’s very agreeable for the priest concerned and the Church has prized scholarship and developed the university system, but why does an ordinary diocesan priest require postgraduate study when there is a shortage of priests and the old guys are worked to death. Why not fund lay people to study?

Also, what does it say about Maynooth that despite the millions spent on it, Irish priests invariably are sent abroad for postgraduate study rather than to Maynooth? Few of Maynooth’s clerical staff have doctorates from Maynooth – they did theirs in Rome etc.

It’s a mediocre teacher training college with the lowest admissions standards of any Irish university. It is the equivalent of a very low-ranking ex-poly in the UK.

Like

I suspect the low standard of education at most Irish seminaries is, and has been low for a considerable time. In terms of intellectual rigour, my own was pathetically inadequate, mostly at the rote learning level of simply unquestioning acceptance of information and teachings regarded as immutably correct. To question accepted teachings was to be seen as suspect.
I have no reason to believe that other colleges were, or are any better from my perceptions of my fellow clergy.

Like

Bit like Oscott. Very mediocre academic standards there. No rigour at all. Well, not the academic type, anyhow !

Like

Maynooth is a joke academically and in every sense. A man who, as a seminarian, was mediocre in absolutely every respect is now its president.
Until relatively recently, a man who was a “sem student” in the 80s, was in charge of “formation” and having right old time for himself researching lads’ erections and ejaculations!!
Very disturbingly, there are rumours of seminarians being sexually assaulted by other seminarians and even “rape” has been mentioned.
Close the damned place down for f***’s sake!!!

Before Eamon Martin went to Armagh and was Administrator of Derry Diocese he was told directly to sort out the scandal of a PP in Derry Diocese and a relationship with a woman. The result was he did sweet f.a. and the relationship continues.

I would not waste my time and energy with incompetent Archbishops or Bishops.

Terrible education in Ireland when I was a boy in the 50s. Rote learning and trashing are only necessary where neither the teacher nor the student believed or understood what was been taught or why it was been taught, and that extended to a lot more subjects than theology and started in the National School system.,

Like

That’s very true John.
Seven boys and six girls did the 11+ in 1955 from my N. Ireland primary. We were segregated with two teachers in each of the boys and girls separate classrooms. The boys “head” was a local man appointed by the PP. Only one boy passed; five girls passed. I failed. We boys had only started doing the IQ practice tests a week before the exam; the girls had been doing them for months. Our former boys’ head (he had left two years previously for much larger school headship) told my uncle he was amazed at our failures, and was hearing negative rumours about the quality of his successor. Of course in those days we kids didn’t know any better, nor did our acquiescent passive parents.
Subsequently five of those boys, including myself, went successfully through universities, proper Unis at that.
At my secondary school a pupil who failed Junior Cert in 1954, had to repeat the year before eventually passing in 1955, same year as myself. So being in same 54/55 class, I knew him as “none too bright.” He subsequentially went to the then Trench Ho teacher training college, (now St Mary’s Uni College). I met him much later when he was head of a medium sized N. IRE
catholic primary: his first cousin was the PP! In talking with him then, both in our 50’s I found him still “dull”, and with neither knowledge nor interest in modern progressive education. That just about sums up good old Catholic education!

Thomasina is, to quote Tom from Gimme Gimme Gimme, ‘’so far back in the closet he may as well be in ****ing Narnia’’. There’s no chance of Thomasina starting a family! The clergy of Armagh diocese are by and large gay, with some very thin veneers put up to hide who they really are. I’m sure there are many stories to be told. It’s good to have Bishop Pat on the case.

The photo of that duo is like a cover photo on an album for Country and Western singers. You could just imagine those pair crooning in the parochial halls in backwater places like Coalisland, Ardboe etc and all the rednecks from the west of the Bann swinging their yokel women round the floor.
All they need would be D’Arcy hearing confessions in the Merc out in the car park.while in the back of other motors, big red headed hallions with names like Assumpta and Gorretti are getting badgered.

Pat, a few months ago, during the Dom Dick bareback episode, we had “Goodbye Joe, he gotta go …. “ – Joe didn’t go and Rawhide Purcell is still in position.

The dolly’s trolley is still trundling on towards diaconate and priesthood with all its goodies and wheels intact.

The stuff you have Pat is enough to cause this tottering institution to collapse into rubble and dust. But no one is interested. You’d think the media would use your stuff to bury the church and pat down the grave with a big shovel.

No one seems interested and the church ignores you. I find that unfathomable.

Mgr Mark Langham RIP of Westminster Diocese has been mentioned several times over the years on this Blog. I would have had no reason either to praise or to disparage had it not ben for this eulogy in The Tablet: https://www.thetablet.co.uk/columnists/2/19280/being-a-priest-doesn-t-mean-you-can-t-have-fun-along-with-all-the-business-of-life-and-death

One of his early achievements as PP of Bayswater was to chuck out the wandering poor and destitute who had been “encouraged” by his predecessor, the legendary Father Michael Hollings.

At Westminster Cathedral he not only kicked out the sainted blind priest Father Norman Brown, who had had an amazing ministry at the Cathedral for decades, but, according to this very Blog, had titled-tattled about details concerning the Confessional during those “legendary” gins on the Cathedral roof terrace – nice work. if you can get it.

Nobody has mentioned his time at the English College Rome – following his painful and humiliating – according to himself, as outraged that he had not been sent ( according to Couve immediately to Rome) – experience of Allen Hall. Once at the VEC he amused himself by drawing portraits of the better looking seminarians. I have no problem with that.

Nor does anybody mention his sudden departure from Westminster. Nothing to do with a “senior altar-server” named Paul?

I’m glad he had a useful career at Cambridge, but, I suspect, there were questions, which had they been raised in Scotland, would have been addressed by the redoubtable Patricia McKeever.

In short, was he ever anything other than a shit and a careerist?

Mmm, I kind of thought there was another side to the coin. There usually is. Gossipy, gay, faux Posh, clerical, careerist, ambitious, I could go on….
