KERRY DIOCESE REFUSING TO ADMIT THAT KING PUCK JONES – CELEBRATED COVID BREAKING WEDDING.

Jones

Our old friend, King Puck, Sean Jones is back in the headlines after celebrating a Traveller wedding that appears to have broken Covid restrictions.

At the height of Covid restrictions in the South two Traveller families were determined to have a normal wedding, with a large number, a horse drawn carriage and several limos.

The Southern restrictions say that only 6 can attend a wedding along with the priest and couple – a total of 9.

The diocese of Kerry have been trying very hard to keep Jones name out of the media – his presence is a sensitive matter in Kerry.

He’s the pink elephant in the room.

Jones has the power to destroy the already disliked bishop of Kerry Ray Brown.

If you want to get ahead, get a hat

If Jones steps out of line the Kerry clergy will down on him like a ton of bricks for ordaining Jones.

The Blog has heard that Brown made Jones sign an affidavit denying rumours before he would ordain him.

A Kerry priest told the blog yesterday: “We are watching Jones like hawks”.

TRAVELLER WEDDINGS – THE CHALLENGES.

There are soecial issues around Traveller weddings and ceremonies.

For a Traveller bride her wedding day is the greatest day of her life and her family’s life.

Such weddings are hallmarked by large attendance, extravagant dresses, flowers and receptions.

But Travellers, like all of us, have to accept the restrictions around Covid.

In the South that means 9 at a wedding including the priest and the couple.

That leaves room for 6 guests. Take the couples parents out of that and you can have two other guests.

That’s it!

That’s Covid.

The priest celebrating is responsible for policing these regulations.

If he is strong enough the Travellers will cooperate.

If they don’t, then, sadly, the priest needs to seek help from the police.

This did not happen in Tralee, for whatever reason.

Maybe I’ve missed it in this blog and in other media outlets that have carried this story, but I’ve never read or heard of a Fr Jones as the celebrant.
Can you please correct me.

I was of the opinion that Jones was the one that is the head the ball. Poor Ray’s only crime is that he’s not very good at the old personal hygeine.

Trying to manage travellers is akin to herding cats. Not even the guards can manage them. They are a law unto themselves.
They often don’t follow the rules at the best of times and good luck to anyone who tries to “make” them follow the rules.
There’s another role now for you, Pat – National Policer of travellers weddings. They will obey you obviously. They will do the bidding of a Man’s Man and not a pansy like Jockstrap Jones.

Like

The rule is a farce. The travellers will in and out of one another’s trailers and won’t have social distancing at home, yet only a handful is allowed into a big, airy church. The same wedding goers could go to the local supermarket and be let in to join the hundreds already inside.

Bp Pat, I see mention of the Westminster porker again! This saga has been allowed to continue by Elsie. When will bishops ever learn that moving problem clergy from place to place does not work. Have they not learned from past mistakes?

Pat, I think you mentioned on the blog before that you went abroad for dental treatment. I’m looking to have a procedure done but would be interested in going to either Poland or even Turkey (Its not dental work). Would you recommend going abroad and was your experience good? I don’t want to come home and have lots of problems. Your advice is appreciated. thanks.

I would advise against any treatment in Turkey. A young Irish lad, Richard Molloy, went there with a pal some months ago for dental treatment and he came back in a body bag. His pal survived. Turkey is not advisable.

Clearly, this is a matter for the police. Clergy were put in an impossible situation. Identifying the bride and groom will be a simple matter, as is the identification of witnesses to the marriage. Others will also be identified. They need to be prosecuted and punished by the imposition of harsh financial penalties. This was a very serious crime.

The trouble with retreads is that they don’t usually last that long and are liable to blow out. All these characters like Jockstrap King Puck and Rory and many others – once they have shown themselves to be trouble, there is a very high likelihood that they will be trouble in the future, especially in keeping the pecker in the pants department. No matter how many rehabilitation / counselling / finding themselves courses they have done. In the world in which I worked for many decades, if the sin was great enough then you only got one chance and once you had blown that you were out. It was just not in the interests of the business or the others connected to it to take the risk of keeping these people on. Harsh, but it worked. We all knew where we stood. These young clergy are mollycoddled by the Church and their bishops, getting themselves in to idiotic trouble, being rehabilitated and welcomed back in to the fold, but pretty much always falling by the wayside again and again. Bishops need to get tough and see the reality. If a young priest is not able to keep his dick in his underpants / jock strap, then he needs to be moved on. The likelihood is that he will never be able to behave himself as currently publicly required by the Church for priests, and no matter how many periods of prayer and penance, or remoulding, he undergoes, he will be inclined to fall again. So, they need to be moved on, PDQ, to a way of life where it doesn’t matter. Gorgeous seems to have found a successful niche for himself where his proclivities and lifestyle are not such a problem. However, if he is readmitted and ordained, I guarantee there will be trouble for all concerned. He’s best left as he is, and left to get on with it. All that happens when a bishop thinks that these guys are given chance after chance and treats them with kid gloves is that they are being given the opportunity to fall again, and again, and again. And spare me the parable of the Prodigal Son !

Like

I think part of the problem is that some bishops secretly / or not so secretly are gay themselves and fancy / fantasize these gay sems and priests.

Fr Jones presided at the wedding. Great lengths have been taken by officialdom in the Diocese of Kerry to keep his name out of the media. Why? Because of the unanswered questions among the older priests in Kerry about the judgement of Bishop Browne about his decision to ordain Jones. The parish priest of St John’s in Tralee is now Browne’s scapegoat to keep the name of Jones out of the press. Why all the secrecy? If it was any other priest in Kerry his name would appear. What is so special about Jones?

Like

@ 9.37a.m. Maybe Jones will be the future Bishop Of Kerry. They would Ordain anyone to the Diaconate, Priesthood or Episcopacy these days.

Neither clergy nor Bishop have a responsibility in this matter. Let’s get that straight. If the congregation wished to infect each other, so be it. They should all be traced and fined heavily. The police is the institution responsible, led by excellent evidence from the parish priest. Let us be crystal clear, this is a police not a clergy matter. I hope this puts an end to the misleading comments offered so far. My hope is for silence rather than accusatory blubber.

Like

The clergy are in charge of the church premises and its grounds. They must police the place – and if becomes too much for them to handle they should then send for the police.

Like

They called the police, surely. Very foolish if they made themselves complicit. It will all come out.

Like

Typical clerical avoidance of responsibility. If you have a large gathering in your home you get fined.
So should anyone not taking adequate efforts to stop it.
Idiot.

Like

You are liable to a big fine if you allow people to use your home as a gathering. What’s different about letting people use your Church for such a gathering. Tralee/Kerry should be fined heavily. What is that PP dressed like? He looks scruffy as if he works in a builders yard, I would hedge a bet that his personal hygiene leaves alot to be desired.

Why are we worrying about San Diego. Chicago, and Milwaukee ? We should worry about Westminster and moving Elsie on. Well past the sell by date, that one ! You do wonder why he bothers to hang on ? I mean, there is nothing but trouble brewing for him, and more and more cases of his careless mismanagement will continue to surface. Also, I think the Vatican will get up to speed on the timescale of things and the IICSA criticism, and realise that their asking him to stay came before they were aware of the IICSA criticism. When they get around to reading that, I think they will have a different view of the indispensability of Nichols ! Why would he want to continue living in A’s House in Westminster, all that lime green paint, shit and off shit brown, and smelling of boiled cabbage. Uuurrrggghhh !

There’s trouble brewing in the USA amongst the bishops there, the usual culture wars stuff. Cupich was in Rome recently to see Francis, and I think Francis is not best happy with Gomez of LA and the other bishops who put out that rather begrudging statement on Inauguration Day, and since have started to talk about refusing communion to politicians who do not stick to the rigourist culture wars line. I think you will begin to see Francis moving to replace some of those rigourist bishops when he is able and replace them with more balanced bishops. I doubt if Gomez et al will be asked to stay on after 75. It will be very interesting to watch how quickly their resignations will be accepted. They’ve pissed off Francis.

And don’t forget others. Cordelia of San Francisco. Paprocki in Springfield IL. Strickland of Tyler Texas. Don’t think Francis will have use for them.

Apart from the crude language used in your last sentence, this is an interesting matter you express well. Talking of interesting and divisive characters, how is Etienne of Blackpool getting on these days ? Still pissing off the parishioners and teachers, still swanning around in lace and brocade, still saying Mass with his back to the people, still under the delusion that he’s going places…..?! I think Blackpool might be the limits of his ascent. He won’t raise an eyebrow around the place when all the trannies and gay boys return to Blackpool for a party after the pandemic. Good point about the permanent diaconate being a middle-class hobby, particularly popular among retired Headteachers. It’s the same with ordained women among the Anglicans, who often turn out to be married to a barrister. Still not as ghastly however as the clerical husband and wife teams. Whatever happened to the type of priest as played by Spencer Tracey?

Browne is an interesting character.
He seems genuinely believe people who report issues to him. Yet he later seems to genuinely believe the excuses that come from the clergy. He is the prize example of the question as to why any priest would even want to be a bishop.
Having one’s own parish, quietly working away at living a good Christ-like example is where the vocation is at. These Bishoprics destroy a man.

Like

That could actually be an actual strategy, because many a complainant of abuse has gone away convinced the bishop believed them.

Bishop Campbell of Lancaster had to shut up a permanent deacon Donnelly because he thought he wasn’t just the PP but the bishop himself. Permanent deacons are a nightmare. They are essentially middle class laity or aspiring to be middle class who have ideas way above their station.
