PERSEVERANCE IN THE FACE OF CHURCH, CLERICAL AND HIERARCHIAL CORRUPTION.

The Job’s Comforters who visit this blog keep telling us that we will never achieve success in our mission to highlight corruption at high and low places in the clergy and hierarchy.

But we can take confidence from the parable below.

THE PARABLE OF THE UNJUST JUDGE

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’

“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she will not eventually wear me out with her coming!'”

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”— Luke 18:1-8,

PERSEVERANCE is a very important and formidable tool in the toolbox of reformers, whistleblowers and the exposure of clerical duplicity and cynicism.

DICK AND PHONS

We now have established that DICK PURCELL has a minimum of four strikes against him – the Boilerhouse, Fr. Dargan, Oxford and a farmer in Roscrea who is a lease holding of Roscrea land.

We are no longer seeing smoke and looking for the fire. We are seeing lit and smouldering sparks in the undergrowth.

This blog is more than happy to leave the Purcell thing alone if he and his superiors do the right thing.

If not, as is said by Shakespeare in Macbeth:

“We fail! But screw your courage to the stickingplace, and we’ll not fail”.

We will not, under any circumstances, let this go until right is done.

SOME QUESTIONS

1. Does Richard Purcell have the dirt on others who are therefore afraid to act against him?

2. Is it a cases that if Purcell, a constituent card in the pile, falls, others will fall?

3. Is the Abbot General, Eamon Fitzgerald, himself compromised on some way?

4. Why is it that the local ordinary of Mellerary, with a history of speaking out on moral issues, Phonsie, is now totally silence on this massive moral issue within his own diocese?

Of course, currently, the Irish Hierarchy as a whole are in defence mode, ate are afraid to budge an inch.

As a Kerry priest said recently:

“The main reason Ray Brown ordained Sean Jones was to spite Buckley and his blog”.

So all kinds of people in the Irish RCC are being retained, protected and ordained out of severe episcopal and abbatial pigheadedness and spitefulness.

What a dangerous “spirit” to be guided by!

Yes they have no moral authority at all.
When you look around and see a few sad queens as candidates in seminary and a handful of old men left in monasteries, this is why.

Tom Wood uses that Bible passage on Another Abbot Extraordinary blog. Thanks @ 9.26.
Your comment is clearly cloud cuckoo clerical delusion and has given me the best laugh today.

Well + Pat, I admire your perseverance and wish you luck. I’m afraid the Vatican, Nuncio, Bishops, and the doesn’t seem to be interested in what you have discovered and revealed. So, you might have to wait some time until something turns up that will force them in to taking this seriously. As you said the other day, something big eventually does turn up in situations like this, and that becomes the tipping point. So, keep at it, please.

Sad to See the Carmelites are no longer at St Josephs Berkley Road Dublin. They gave many many years of service. Now the Archdiocese has the Parish again. God bless the Carmelites.

Dermot intends to keep the church open and has appointed Fr Paul Churchill as PP (from yesterday).

The Carmelites are now able to bolster their two remaining Dublin communities: Avila Centre and St Teresa’s. Fr Dougal has been sent to Oxford.

Paul Churchill is a classmate of mine from Clonliffe days. Not a bad chap, but as a canon lawyer, very limited in outlook and pastoral experience.

10 55: You know nothing about Berkley Rd. That whole area has been redeveloped with many young people and couples moving there in recent years.. A service Church in many ways.. Fr. Paul will be fine. Your disparaging comments are not surprising. You are a butch bitch. I’d have Fr. Paul than you, ignorant smuggie, any day. God heal you.

Of course, I accept the confrontational style of this blog.

I have never been confrontational in tge pastoral setting.

All my confrontations have been with clergy and rarely with parishioners.

A difficulty here is the number of masses celebrated during the week. How can a parish priest spend so much of his time saying the mass? An assistant is required, without doubt and let’s hope it is somebody suited to Fr Paul’s style of running the show.

Captain Brown ordaining Corporal Jones because of the blog. I doubt it very much. The parable is good but only speaks of one known petitioner

We are very Theologically Constipated. I sail a lot, the wife says I sail an awful lot but on my travels I have not been stopped at any border in the Irish See. I don’t know what poor Arlene does be talking about. She reminds me of Deaf Guy where everything that is said seems to go over the head. The best news is I got a great price for 38 pigs I sold last week, much better than expected.

I think of them now, that having followed Foster & Co’s short sighted line, they stand forlornly in the unpainted corner ‘digging-in’ by reverting to form. Substitute “No Surrender ” with “Ditch the Protocol.”
And on they go, digging themselves into another hole.

I’ve been watching this World in Action about slums
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-UOKQLXrb7Y
Strangely no mention is made of the fact that merely using contraception would have stopped 8 people having to live in a slum. The assumption is also that the council should do something about the family’s situation but I think the Archbishop of presumably Southwark should have accommodated them.

Quite so. There were huge developments in providing decent housing in London and elsewhere during the nineteen sixties and seventies. Strangely enough, people who paid the market rent in say the Barbican managed to live there decently without pissing in the lift and chucking old fridges over their balconies. Clearly the Catholic Church was to blame then; and later naturally Mrs Thatcher.

No more scandals from Scotland? Where is our wee pal Patricia from Catholic Untruth Scotland? Still blowing smoke up the ass of Fr Latin n Lace Dunn? She must be pleased with Frankie’s latest announcement to allow females to be acolytes. She may even get to be a Permanent Deacon (glorified Altar server) in a few years. She would be good at that. Her and Stephanie would make a great combo. In saying that, I hope the new Arch of Glasgow gets rid of SD immediately. Mad as a box of frogs.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Priests in the Diocese rely on the offerings of the people to live. With the suspension of public Masses, there is little money coming in for the payment of clergy. I know that this is a difficult time for most people. If however, you would like to make a donation towards the payment of priests at this time we have made this online payment facility available.
I also have in mind various projects for spreading the faith in the Diocese and for this we need to employ a Youth-Ministry Officer and a Faith-Development Officer.

These roles are vital to help change the negative culture that surrounds us and to let people know God’s message of truth and mercy.

If you would like to help support these and other diocesan initiatives, you can contribute to Bishop’s Evangelisation Appeal below.
I would like to thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
Yours Sincerely,
Bishop Phonsie
