PRIEST WHO DENIED TUAM HOLOCAUST MADE PARISH PRIEST IN DUBLIN.

The word Holocaust is derived from the Greek holokauston, a translation of the Hebrew word ʿolah, meaning a burnt sacrifice offered whole to God.

PAUL CHURCHILL

DERMOT FARRELL of Dublin has appointed a 68-year canon lawyer who tried to deny the Tuam Baby holocaust as parish priest of Berkeley Road in Dublin’s north inner city.

ST JOSEPH’S

Having worked all his life, as a bachelor, deciding whether men and women trapped in bad marriages should get a church annulment – he is becoming a parish priest for the first time – seven years before his retirement at 75!

In the nterview below Paul Churchill maintains that he is on the side of truth. Of course he means Roman Catholic truth. In the minds of people like him there is no other truth!

In the interview Churchill attemts to deny that the Bon Secours nuns piled 796 uncoffined babies bodies wrapped in Coke like bottles, all on top of each other.

In a letter he wrote at the time he says anyone accusing the nuns, especially the media were doing the work of THE DEVIL!

CHURCHILL’S LETTER SUPPORTING THE NUNS

Everything that Churchill claims about the Tuam Babies has been blown out of the water by Catherine Corless, the local Tuam historian, who has backed up everything she says with extensive documentation and taped interviews of former Tuam internees.

REFUSING TO ALLOW A COUPLE WHO CARE FOR THE DISABLED TOMARRY IN THE INSTITUTION’S CHAPEL SO THAT THEIR DISABLED CLIENTS COULD ATTEND!

Cardinal refused chapel for wedding

A YOUNG Dublin couple have been refused permission by Cardinal Desmond Connell to marry in the chapel of their choice for reasons…

PHARISEE CONNELL

The Irish Times – Patsy McGarryFri, Dec 7, 2001, 0

A YOUNG Dublin couple have been refused permission by Cardinal Desmond Connell to marry in the chapel of their choice for reasons “too numerous to recount”. They were assured, however, that those reasons were “sufficiently serious to merit what might seem a rather strict regulation”.

Ms Laura Smyth (26), a physiotherapist at a residential centre for people with mental and physical handicap in the city, wrote to the cardinal on November 8th last seeking permission – as is necessary – to be married in the centre’s chapel on February 20th next.

She explained this would mean a lot to herself and her fiancΘ, Mr Michael Cooke (30), as it would “allow my clients, who would not often witness a marriage, to be involved in the day”. She also said that in making the request she had the full support of the centre’s administrator, a member of a religious order.

FATHER PAUL CHURCHILL replied on behalf of the cardinal, on November 12th. He said the cardinal, while appreciating Ms Smyth’s reasons for making the request, “would be unhappy at this stage to change accepted diocesan policy in regard to marriages in private churches and oratories”. The matter had been gone into “very carefully” some years ago by the late Archbishop Ryan, he said.

“The pastoral difficulties and problems that led to this decision are too numerous to recount here, but I can assure you that they were sufficiently serious to merit what might seem a rather strict regulation,” the letter then said.

Replying to Cardinal Connell on December 2nd Ms Smyth said the reason given for his refusal was “not a satisfactory explanation”. She and her fiancee would now “have to explore the alternatives of cohabiting or a civil marriage, neither of which we want but have little choice about at this time” .

Once, again we see Churchill as the mouthpiece of the hierarchy pushing ROMAN CATHOLIC TRUTH!

I dont believe that Paul Churchill is a “bad man”.

But he is a BLIND MAN putting RC teachings, doctrines and laws before compassion.

Would it not have been a human and pastorally wonderful thing to allow the clients of their carers to see their carers married, to be part of the ceremony and to be part of the celebration?

Clients like these probably never see a eedding in their whole lives.

Would Jesus have refused the wedding taking place in a chapel in a facility for the disabled? Absolutely not!

What would Jesus think of those who, like the Pharisees, refused?

Would He repeat what he said before – things like: “brood of vipers”, ” whitened sepulchres”?

“You lay burdens on men’s shoulders and won’t lift a finger to remove them”?

So what qualifies Paul Churchill at 68 to be a parish priest for the first time in his life?

A lifetime defending RC teaching on marriage?

Letters and interviews denying the Tuam Holocaust?

Refusing marriage to disability carers in front of their clients on the basis of a church laws that lays down the only places where marriages can be celebrated?

Would Cardinal Connell and Paul Churchill have allowed Jesus to attend the Marriage Feast at Cana and turn water into wine.

On the basis of canon law – YES!

PS:

Connell was a philosopher who was an expert in the Beatific Language – the language God and the angels use to communicate with each other in Heaven 🤡.

When Connell condemned homosexuality on one occasion the gay activist Senator David Norris came out with a brilliant statement:

“The cardinal seems to know a lot about Angels but absolutely nothing about Fairies” 😜

Pat, Paul Churchill is one of the most sincere and dedicated priests that you will ever meet. He is a deeply spiritual man who lives a frugal and simple life. I have never in my years of knowing him heard him utter a single negative word about any human being. His ‘crime’ in you eyes is having the audacity to challenge the narrative woven by the media around the Tuam Mother and Baby home. Paul is however well qualified to challenge the media spin, since his father was a child born and raised up in that home. You cannot invalidate someones experience because it doesn’t concur with the media version of the ‘truth’
Catherine Corless continues to repeat the fiction of babies ‘dumped in a septic tank’ despite the interim report of the commission refuting this as without evidence. The media laud her as a historian, but she is without qualifications.

Your attack on Paul Churchill is another demonstration of your vile poisonous character. You will however one day have to account for yourself before the judgment seat of Christ.

Anything but the truth, any type of self deception, but not reality. Pat’s blog does not just illustrate three different levels of lies and shocking sleights of the cleric’s hand.
Deception Number One.
These were not orphans that were allowed to die. These were infants deliberately stripped of their protective mothers by the priests and nuns themselves and let die behind these high clerical walls and then quietly dumped in the night when they passed on. How was that possible on such a scale? To do this one needs the collusion of the state and its elected representatives. And how does one get that? By pretending that one has access to some powers and important places that they haven’t got access to; and then setting oneself up as an authority above them. One has to pretend that one has access to some secret knowledge. That is where a collection of writing, supposedly written by goat herders two thousand years ago, comes in, and that they have all studied this for a decade in the abdundant seminaries of Ireland paid for by ones parents; and that one has been anointed with magic oil; and that one is doing good works for the poor.
Deception Number Two.
One has to dress in outlandish clothes, weighed down with crucifixes, and vestments and carry rosaries and crosiers, some sit on gold thrones to pray for the poor and the sinners (like the Cardinal with his doleful face). One needs to be anointed with the sacred oils, who can forgive forgive their brutality and celebrations of patriotic murder with elaborate and colourful spectacles – as well as the routine ceremonies, which must be attended under pain of further sin. The men who run the state don’t mind this so long as they are permitted to make money and they get all these so called ‘educational’ and ‘caring’ services cheap. So there is a double benefit here they will get the poor to pay for there so-called benefits and the ‘punishments’ doled out to the innocent ‘transgressors’ themselves in ‘orphanages’, ‘poorhouses’ , ‘colleges’ and ‘reformatories’. And the benefits these charlatans provide is supposed to last even beyond the grave, in that if you pay them for masses said for these ‘dead’ in purgatory, in limbo, or any of the other places they have imagined the dead are lodged so that they can get into the heaven that they have promised.
Deception Number Three
They have thus corrupted the body politic of the total society by claiming that they know what is right and wrong, and that this is a morality made in heaven, because the ‘son’ of God has had to die for man he had created – the son of who? Of God, of course! Once you have swallowed that camel, there is no lie after that the likes of Paul Churchill need worry about, with his simple ‘man of the people’ whinge about only looking for the ‘truth’ and ‘only telling people about the great time his father told him about in Tuam’. Doesn’t the simple pleading of this holy, dedicated man, deeply spiritual man not move one, very different, incidentally, from the authoritative pronouncements of Connell. And the nuns doing their comical dancing in the corridors of their very modern convent. Where did the money come from to pay for such comfortable, modern buildings. Would it be from the Irish taxpayer, or perhaps 11.43 apologist above, or perhaps from selling some of these babies who were deprived of mothers?

My grandfather passed away in 1993. Churchill was assisting in my grandparents’ parish at the time. The night before my grandfather’s funeral he called to my grandmother’s house where all the family were gathered. He walked in the door, made the sign of the cross, then said a decade of the rosary and promptly walked out again. He did not sympathise with us, introduce himself or offer any kind of comfort to us at all. We were all upset by how badly he treated us that evening.

Ah, the myth of the undisputed expert in the RCC !! Yes, a priest may have done some study, but the foundation of the awe and respect that we gave to the authority of people like Churchill was more to do with the fact that he was a priest – in other words that nonsense fiction of ontological change through the grace of ordination which bestowed on the priest instant wisdom and authority on any subject or matter !
I think back to two characters who had something of this character about them who held significant sway in matters in the diocese in which is my parish is based.(I am not a priest, but a layman who was actively involved in my parish). Firstly, Fr Bede Walsh, who was viewed with such awe as a man who had fine artistic and cultural taste, refurbishing Pugin churches, moving from one significant post to another, and as well being one of the people who made judgements about annulment cases and marriages, which of course other than some quick course, he really knew nothing about. And where is he now ?! Then the recently convicted and imprisoned Fr Quigley, another shining light of the Couve de Murville – Nichols era, who was an ‘expert’ of Catholic education and schools, and would wander around the diocese advising people about religious education and all things education in relation to the many schools that the diocese ran. A man of great significance and influence in the matter of education and schools. And where is he now ?!
The general point is, I am nowadays always very cautious and mildly suspicious of clergy who are presented to me as ‘experts’ in their field, largely because I know the paucity of their knowledge and experience in whatever field they claim knowledge and expertise, and secondly because I’m always aware of the other side of the coin, and keep in mind that what I am seeing is not the true reality of their lives. I would treat Churchill, good man though people say he is, with the same suspicion.
The reason for all of this ? The clergy have only themselves to blame. The fiction of priestly ontological change, instant and wide ranging expertise and wisdom, the assumption of arbitrary and complete authority by virtue of ordination, the lack of assessment and accountability – all of these things and more we have now seen to be a fiction by and large, exacerbated by lifestyles and behaviour, some of it criminal, which was well concealed by the fictions I have described. They have only themselves to blame for making people like me look at them carefully not once, but two and three times, before I can give them even a modicum of trust.

The link above is to an article by Fr. I agree completely and wholeheartedly having had experience of Walsh and Quigley myself – Quigley has a PhD and that really floats Elsies boat – he is easily seduced by academia and Oxbridge – Stock is Oxbridge and perceived therefore as highly intelligent (that he is a chronic insomniac and emotionally illiterate isn’t considered relevant). Oakley has a PhD (Hull) and again this covers over a multitude of sins – Stephen Wright, Birmingham auxiliary is a qualified barrister (didn’t practice) and so too is Arnold – I think McGough has a doctorate in scripture and for a lad from the Potteries speaks awfully posh!! Longley is Oxbridge and Couve was Cambridge etc Between them couldn’t organise a party in a brewery – Kevin Dunn had a doctorate in canon law but it didn’t help him poor fella as stress of promotion contributed to his early death at 57!! Oh and Tighe is a barrister too I think! And so far up his own arse it’s really not funny!!Don’t get me started on Canon lawyers they are living breathing Pharisees – utter nightmare – a decent secular lawyer would have them for breakfast – clerical expertise tends to foster the myth that if they weren’t priests they would be big earners, top of their game etc which is blatant bollox but it is a prevailing myth they put out – oh yeah and Kenny has a PhD in sociology and an expert on fecking everything!! And Ian Kerr – thankfully now retired – another doctorate or two – heralded as Newman scholar but prone to hissy fits of Do you know who I am etc!! Very Newman like!! Humble, hard working, average intelligence parish priests are perceived as thick as shite and leave the Big Boy stuff to the doctoral or Oxbridge experts, my Arse!! Oh and before anyone goes the route of I’m a jealous, bitter old cleric etc – I’m neither I just got eyes and I see!! As for Churchill – he’s lying through his teeth – old Irish canon lawyers with limited pastoral experience are good at self delusion and believe lay people (pray, pay, obey) are as thick as sheep. Only problem is they ain’t and Newman got what he prayed for – an increasingly educated laity who can see through the faux expertise and posturing!!

Aldo, more innocent I imagine, but still up his own arse with all that priestly nobility and ontological difference stuff. Probably still is. I heard that Aldo wouldn’t go to his niece’s wedding because she was marrying a non-Catholic in an Anglican church. I think that hurt his family. What an arrogant, judgemental, self-opinionated twat ! And all that parading in to Walsh’s trial all decked out in his clericals, as a show of fraternal priestly support. What was that all about ? I’d say Tapparo probably does really think that Walsh was innocent and all those kids were telling lies. How could a priest possibly abuse those kids like that, I mean, he was a holy priest !!! Not. Walsh still has a long time to go in prison because he won’t play ball and recognise his guilt and conviction and so the necessary rehabilitation courses he needs to do for early release. So, he will do at least two thirds / three quarters of his 22 year sentence, maybe even the whole lot. Maybe that’s what he deserves ? Let’s leave it to God to be merciful to him ?

The blog’s very good today Pat. And the clerical cast of misfits are clearly rattled!
The bottom line is would anyone give them a job out here except out of awe for their ontological delusional state!

Oh YES@5:21! I’d certainly recommend them for work: shovelling shite at municipal sewage works. They’d be good at it for they’ve lots of practice peddling it.

5.21: I’m psychic too! There are too many non-clerics here today, hating, sneering and displaying dysfunctional behaviour. What a crowd of deranged misfits…including you!! 😈😈😈😈😈👺👺👹👹👿👿👿…

Did anyone think of the fact it was probably an easy appointment for Farrell as Churchill was effectively a spare priest in the wings. Farrell perhaps didn’t see Churchill as playing an important plan in his administration and he needed someone to fill an imminent vacancy. It’s probably a simple solution really….

Masturbation is not really a moral issue and is a social and personal issue if the habit is distressing for you in some way.

The healthiest outlet for sex is with another person.

So you are morally approving not just casual sex, but another’s willingness and body as a substitute and antidote … for masturbation?

I’m suggesting that it could good for the man to have sex with another consenting adult.

There are a lack of services to help with addictive behaviours around sex. If you want to try a 12 step approach there is Sex Addicts Anonymous.
Failing that you could try approaching your local mental health services for either counselling or cognitive behavioural therapy – however because addiction to sexual behaviour is not clearly a diagnosable mental disorder you may find it excluded from services.
If you can afford it you could see whether any psychologists local to you specialise in addictions.
There are self help resources based on CBT principles, but they are likely to be more about anxiety. I have been trying to get CBT for chronic pain for several years without success myself.
Trying to have sex with someone else may not help because it may move the addiction to sex and you anyway may not get the fix you get with porn and masturbation.
Best wishes.

Has anyone else noticed how often Bella has posted on the blog today in a desperate defence of her beloved institutional Roman Catholic Church? It’s hilarious. She must be on speed to keep up.

I always thought that rats deserted a sinking barque.😅

I’m not desperate and the only rat is you, the barque of Peter shall never sink despite what you and all the other rats think. You wont be hilarious when you arrive at your final destination.

Dear @ 9.37, are you another of those “You’ll be sorry” eejits? You know the sort. They creep around Norn Iron in the dark with a ladder, hammer, nails, and those warning signs, “The End is Nigh: Repent and be Saved,” etc, etc.
I remember talking to one of them several years ago, well “trying to talk with.” I tell you it was impossible to get any sensible answer to even the simplest questions. He was clearly exhibiting symptoms comparable to psychosis, ….completely out of touch with reality.
