A MUST SEE LECTURE ON UNDERSTANDING CLERICAL SEXUAL ABUSE.

PAT SAYS

Tom Doyle’s lecture is 30 minutes long and begins at 6.20.

Rcc treating survivors and victims as ‘things’ made my blood boil. That’s what fr Doyle had said. Enough is enough.

This cult is not pro-life it is anti-abortion. The only time life matters to the RC church is in the womb.

You’ve nearly hit the mark.
Yes, it is a cult, not of Christ though, but of clergy, fundamentally of the episcopate. It is why RC bishops and their theologians devised the cod-theology of ‘Apostolic Succession’, to bind ordinary Catholics in abject and absolute obedience to these moral shysters, so that they could do to them what they wished. And they got their wishes by and large, for centuries: power trips, sexual exploitation of Catholic children, the gathering of mammon, worldly status, etc.
Their stormtroopers, priests, ensured that the episcopate’s whims impacted in every parish worldwide.
But what was in it for the priests? Why, mini powertrips in their own little fiefdoms, the bonus being episcopal protection, to the hilt, when one of theses natural-born perverts fancied a little kiddie-fiddling in his spare time. And he had plenty of that, since he did not have to work for a living, but sponged off Catholics who did.
They say the devil makes work for idle hands; and he did for these Christ-betrayers: a seeming never-ending conveyor belt of innocent children for their sexual, criminal, and cowardly exploitation. And all the while these child rapists, perverts, and soul murderers knew that, being so close to Jesus through apostolic succession, their bishops could pull a trick here and there to protect them from civil accountability. And boy! They did. For the priests who remained obedient to them, of course. And the vast majority were, apart from one or two honourable exceptions, Pat Buckley being one of them.
No, these men do NOT care about unborn life, not unconditionally, otherwise they would never have morally accepted the Augustinian error of just war.
War is indiscriminate: it kills where it wills. And this sometimes includes not just children, but human life in the womb. These men always knew this; Jesus knew it, too, which is why, in part, he forbade, absolutely, the deliberate taking of human life when he commanded his followers to love their enemies.
These men, the bishops, always knew this, but then, they were never, truly, disciples of Christ, but of their own pride, vanity, and conceit. No wonder they kept the Word of God from Christians for centuries, under even pain of horrible death, because they did not want them to know Christ for themselves, and to follow HIM.
What did Jesus say of Jewish leaders in his time? That they not only were keeping themselves from the Kingdom of Heaven, but others as well.
History is indeed circular in some, vital respects: it keeps going round and round; keeps repeating itself.

3.19pm – for the millionth time you say the same things you always do. Do you have OCD and need to repeat yourself, or have dementia and have forgotten that you’ve said it all many, many times before?

Just as the Gospel is endlessly repeated, in cycles, at Mass, so too must other truths until they are accepted and acted upon.

Change in the clerical hierarchy of the Church has been shown, historically, resistant to major change: to reform. This has come about only through pressure applied to priests of all ranks.

When you priests learn vital lessons here, and implement them, then there will be no further need to repeat the truths that clearly frighten you, ‘Father’.

But you shall, ALL OF YOU, change.

10.44: People – keep your children and vulnerable relatives or friends away from the dangerously dysfunctional Magna Carta. He’s deranged and quite capable of inflicting grave harm…

Like

@11:24. I’m obliged to ask you for the evidence behind the need for your warning. In several years following this blog I have not seen any evidence to suggest that Magna is a danger to children or adults. However I have seen many criticisms of him, some of which were justified in relation to his former use of intemperate language, although that seems thankfully now absent.
Much of the criticism however has been poorly and viciously worded ad hominem disagreement with the points he makes in criticism of the RCC, its clergy and practices. There is seldom any attempt at disputing his points by production of contrary evidence. Your comment at 11:24 is a prime example and does you little credit.

Like

7.22: Your comment does little credit for you if you have any scintilla of psychological insights into personality types. MC has displayed on many occasions his propensity for very ugly, deranged and hateful behaviour. His narrative is mostly an incitement to hatred. He can indeed make good arguments but he has little tolerance or respect for different, rational thought or argument. His viciousness as a commenter is not comedy or satire but a very hateful onslaught against a particular group of people. His language suggests that he is mentally unstable, prone to anger and hatred and psychopathic, dysfunctional outbursts: therefore I would most certainly not allow any child or vulnerable person to be with him. Language as used by him gives a clear insight into his instability for any such a role.

@ 11:24 & 8:14:
Your comment @ 11:24 referred to a comment by 10:44 concerning “kiddie fiddlers” and the need to “keep kids away from them.” You immediately commented at 11:24 on the need ( in your opinion) to keep kids away from Magna, as he “is capable of inflicting grave harm.”
It appears from this, YOUR immediate linkage, that you were inferring and projecting a risk of this form of abuse from Magna. That is why I asked you for your evidence.
You seem unable to appreciate that your comment at 11:24 was a baseless and inappropriate inference on your part. There appears little point in debating personality types or psychological insights. Magna’s personality traits are not the issue here.

The question and answer at the end? Given all we already know about the corruption and criminality, even the sexual psychopathy of the institutional RCC, these matters are pointless while there remains even the remotest semblance of priesthood in the Church. Where there is priesthood there is both the rationaae and the structure for the exercise of power. And where power is exercised by human beings, it will be corrupted by human ego and ambition, and driven often by human self-aggrandisement, including the desire for sexual satiation.

Speaking of shrinks, the next major Nationwide public inquiry needs to be into psychiatric hospitals run by catholic religious orders, including private, public or part publicly funded hospitals. Human rights abuses galore will be uncovered.

My sister worked in one which was run by the Western Health Board….she was a brilliant psychiatric nurse who had to work under crazy circumstances and in very challenging situations. She wasn’t always happy with approach to patients but nurses were not encouraged or tolerated if they spoke out…I visited a friend for 2 years in a psychiatric hospital (not run by relugious but by HSE) and I was shocked at the treatment given to her. Horrendous. After much persuasion her family agreed to question staff and hospital about all treatment. This resulted in a thorough report which advised that a new psychiatrist be assigned to her. Thereafter, a professional lady doctor enabled her progress to a completely changed person, her well being and health were managed by a person-centred approach instead of being blurred and dazed by buckets of tablets. Disgusting approach by the psychiatric staff. Were it my sister ir relatuve, I’d have sued the hispital. Sir, find someone else to blame for “ills” of society…

I believe in calling charlatans out, particularly white collar charlatans.
Are you rattled due to being ontologically challenged or experiencing cognitive
dissonance and existential angst? Or, did my call for a Nationwide public inquiry
into religious run psychiatric hospitals cause a panic attack? You, sir, seem very
threatened, by anyone challenging the Rcc calling all those who do ” haters” or
potential “haters”. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. You sir, have little
knowledge of the psychiatric industry. I believe your tale of the professional lady doctor
to be a very tall tale. If psychiatrists didn’t have a pen, prescription pad, an assortment
of medications to use on human beings or the use of ECT, psychiatrists have nothing
to “offer”. Psychiatry, in my view, is modern day quackery, a pseudo-science, State
sanctioned medical abuse controlled by Big Pharma. Psychiatry is fundamentally a
medical form of social control. Sir, you used the word blame, not me.
I’m calling on those in positions of authority, who had/have duty of care, and had/ have
responsibilities, to be made accountable for human rights abuses. RESPONSIBILITY, is the
appropriate word, sir, not blame. I suspect, you, sir, are another white collared charlatan.
The truth sets us free, but white collared charlatans fear truth-so they should- but they do
for all the wrong reasons.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Sir, wise up and shame the devil.

Ah, now! Come on! Don’t you know that the priests are different from the rest of us? By dint of ordination? Ontologically, well, elevated above the common run of humanity? Yes, it’s true. And there’s proof: no one is as corrupt as they are; no one kiddie-fiddles as they do; no one embezzles as they do; no one lies as they do, etc
Yes, they as a caste are particularly close to god, and their behaviour proves it.
Satan DOES have favourites.

How can men who consider themselves ontologically elevated above the rest of humanity
by virtue of ordination to priesthood, justify, what many commentators are calling, crimes against humanity. It makes no sense, other than, as Tom Doyle points out, it’s a collective form of magical thinking.

Do they think Jesus Christ will condone this corruption of His Gospel for the sake of the clerical caste?

Honoring with lips but hearts far from Him, immediately comes to mind.

Clearly, despite what is portentously said of priests, they are NOT ontologically changed at ordination in the way you described. Behavioural evidence against them suggests precisely the opposite.

While I respect Dr Thomas Doyle and admire his uncommon courage in calling out the sexual violation of children by Catholic priests and its deliberate canonical concealment from civil authorities, I question his hope for healing and reconciliation of victims not just within the current clerical structures/hierarchy of the Church, but within ANY such organisational feature. Even fundamental reform of these will not negate the clericalism which Doyke has cited as enabling child sexual violation by priests.
There is absolutely no basis in the New Testament, at any point of it, for the continuation of priesthood after Christ’s death and resurrection. Priesthood is the primary structural flaw in the Church, and it was not founded by Christ. In fact, Hebrews declares priesthood ineffective for salvation and, therefore, absolutely null and void.
While priesthood continues in the Roman Catholic Church, so too will all the evil associated with it down the centuries, much of which is now depressingly familar to us.

Like

Is Tom Doyle hoping for healing and reconciliation of victims within the current clerical/hierarchy structures of the church? I don’t think so. Doyle knows better.
The hierarchy are simply trying to ignore problems hoping and waiting for victims to die off.

Like

Yes, he is.

Dr Doyle correctly recognises that healing and reconciliation within the CURRENT clerical hierarchy of the Church is impossible, but he does imply, through his failure to recognise the abject failure of priesthood in the Church and the need for its immediate abolition, that healing and reconciliation is possible through the retention of SOME form of clerical structure.

I believe that he is wrong.

Indeed, Dr. Doyle correctly recognizes healing and reconciliation within the
clerical hierarchy of the Church is impossible. He does mention this phenomenon
was acknowledged in The Didache from 98AD : a problematic issues for the Church
from the get go!

I don’t think Doyle’s views on priesthood can be extrapolated from one lecture or if
calling for the abolition of priesthood would prove helpful.
However, he does explicitly say EVERYTHING that contributed to this phenomenon must be put under the microscope.

Doyle's diagnosis of the malaise inherent in institutionaised clericalised Church is spot on.says:

Doyle’s diagnosis of the corruption at the very heart of the institutionalised clericalised Church and its functionaries is excoriating. It is great to hear someone so fearlessly describe what ails the institutionalised clericalised Church, and the harm this ailment does to the People of God. I guess he is able to do so because he has managed to extricate himself from whatever damaging influence they might have over him. It is interesting; it is usually those priests who have some independence of means and action that are able to be critical of the institutionalised Church, the majority of priests being unable to do so because of the feudal relationship of patronage that they continue to have with it and their bishop and the dangers to them if they speak out.

Doyle has made a diagnosis, but I detect that he is not hopeful about a treatment, because they very people whose task it is to shepherd the Church are a large part and parcel of the malaise that they need to root out. The Vatican, bishops, priests, functionaries of the Church, all have an investment in keeping the status quo, which gives them authority, influence and power. Add to that, at this level of the Church there is an incestuous passing on of this corrupt culture from one generation to the other. Those who are currently part of the clerical ranks of the Church have been imbued with clericalism and believe that it is the right order since it is the will of the Church and of Jesus Christ ! They are busily passing this on to those who are preparing to take over – in the seminaries. So, my assessment is that we cannot have faith that the institutionalised and clericalised Church will heal itself. We have to hope that God will intervene, and that he will use as his instruments the People of God. There needs to be a new 21st century reformation to deal with this corrupt malaise at the hear of the Church.

I would defend MC here (most of it) BUT He gives us an insight into rcc’s double standards. sometimes with incisive insight which enlighten our minds re rcc. His use of language such as romanists, moochers, parasites, kiddy fiddlers is something we could learn from. Also he mentions in Hebrew bible that jesus hadn’t intended the priesthood. That’s something new we learn every day. Rcc don’t tell you everything cos they don’t want to get them exposed big time. Today was the day that I want to walk away from rcc for good after I saw rcc saw us survivors as ‘things’ which was very impersonal. This was/is not a community, more of them against ourselves.
