CALLING THE KILKENNY YOUNG MEN WHO SENT ME THE KILDORRERY ALTAR SEX PICS TO RECONTACT ME.

*** Would the man who contacted about this matter in April 2018 please get in touch again

bishopbuckley1@outlook.com

At the end of April 2018 a young man contacted me from the Kilkenny area to say a priest was sending nude images of himself to his friend, via Grindr, trying to get the young man meet him for sex.

The priest turned out to be Father Michael Lomasney, the former PP of Kildorrery and at that time a curate in Cloyne diocese.

The young man sent me the photographs Father Lomasney was sending out of himself having sex on an altar with a young man.

I immediately sent the information and photographs to William Crean, the bishop of Cloyne.

BISHOP WILLIAM CREAN

BISHOP OF CLOYNE

30th April 2018

Dear William,

I have been contacted today by a young man who has supplied me with photographs he says shows Father Lomasney having sex with a young man on the altar of Kildorrey parish church.

Father Lomasneysent these pictures to another young man who he was attempting to seduce.

I would be most grateful if you let me know you got this email and assured me you would investigate.

+Pat Buckley

bishopbuckley1@outlook.com

And just like the thick Kerryman, Crean is reported to be 🥴, he did not even have the good manners to acknowledge my email.

Instead, Crean decided to involve the Garda even though there was no suggestion by anyone that a crime had been committed. This was a cynical deflection by Crean who could now say: “As the matter is now subject to a Garda inquiry I cannot comment”.

In Ireland, thank God, two men having consensual sex in private is no longer a crime.

Any offence committed by the two, especially by Lomasney, a cleric, would be a religious, moral or canonical crime. That has absolutely nothing to do with an Garda Siochana.

But it allowed the cynical and bullish Crean to say nothing and do nothing.

As a Mayo priest friend of mine once remarked: “If you see a pig with two heads say nothing and after a while say nothing at all”.

As far as we know, Crean never even bothered to go to Kildorrery to reconsecrate  the altar or church after the blasphemy.

CREAN NOW DECIDES THE PICS ARE PHOTOSHOPPED!

Crean now seems to have decided that the pucture are photoshopped!

Look at this pic.

Notice the man giving the fellatio has his face all obliterated by a black market.

Why would a good photoshopper use such a crude method to cover the priest’s face with a black marker when photoshopping techniques would do it much more professionally and cleanly?

I dont know any photoshopper who scribbles on his images with a black marker.

THE OTHER MAN ON THE ALTAR:

It has been alleged that the younger man on the altar was a seminarian.

We know that Lomasney was a regular visitor to Maynooth.

We have been told by seminarians that Lomasney was known among seminarians as “Big Mick” – a reference to the size of his member!

We know that Lomasney was into younger men and used Grindr to source those younger men.

PRIEST’S DENIAL:

Bishop Crean is saying that Fr Lomasney denied the incident.

Fr Lomasney was, sadly, a long term alcoholic. Alcoholics have a absolute need to lie to survive.

Why would Fr Lomasney admit the incident  and sacrifice his right to being financially supported by the diocese, leave himself open to dismissal from the clerical state and face a possible Garda investigation?

I think Fr Lomasney had every motive not to admit the truth.

CONCLUSION:

As it stands the Garda are still involved.

Crean first involved them.

Now the bishop of the alleged seminarian has written to the Garda enclosing letters of complaint sent to him.

But nobody has accused anyone of committing a crime.

It is not a criminal matter.

It is a religious, moral and canonical matter.

It is not a matter for the police.

It is a matter for the church and the church authorities.

Crean doesn’t want to act. He’s stubborn. He’s thick. He will not be told what to do by anyone – including Jesus I imagine.

The seminarian’s bishop is weak and afraid.

He’s afraid of what the seminarian knows and what he might do with that knowledge.

A big pay off is an option – but that brings its danger of later coming into the light.

Crean & Co are between a rock and a hard place!

You couldn’t make this up. Why are the Garda still involved after all this time? It’s totally not a crime.
Did you get any indication of who the seminarian was supposed to be?

If this story wasn’t so tragic it would be hilarious – it’s like an especially saucy episode of Fr Ted – Crean is priceless fancy involving the police – he needs to get out of 1959 and re-enter the 21st Century- he’s playing that old photoshopped card because the truth is not only embarrassing it’s scandalous and sacrilegious – and must be blasphemous and don’t or didn’t Ireland have a blasphemy law etc. Mind you I know gay atheists who would be scandalised and offended that any one would have sex on an altar – the back ache and lack of cushion for a start.

I feel I need to correct you in relation to your claim that Holy Cross Parish had provided 2 bishops. It did but I think you might be getting mixed up. Crossbill born were John Mone and Stephen McGill, both bishops of Paisley.
Hugh Bradley is from Croy parish He is not a native of Crosshill.
Bishop Jamie Ward was from Dumbarton.
Bishop Gray Graham was from Edinburgh.
They were both PPs in Holy Cross and were both already bishops when appointed to HC as they were not to the liking of the archbishops newly appointed to Glasgow and Edinburgh back in the day and sidelined to the plum parish of Holy Cross. They were not native to the parish.
Holy Cross was the home parish of the Abbot Donald McGlynn of Nunraw.

I am not sure what more needs to happen. Something does need to occur if a seminarian was involved but that should be a private matter. All that needs to be established is that something has indeed happened to put accountability in place – names and any further lurid descriptions should be curbed. By the way, I really do not know why you continue to pubish the photographs. They add nothing to your case.
As for Bishop Crean tea, a dose of diocesan amalgamation and a pp. post would seem to be the best outcome. There are far too many bishops in Ireland and a rationalisation of them is long overdue. I am sure Crean Tea would disagree with me.

Is the relevance of this resurrected story a threatening / blackmailing seminarian....?says:

I’m struggling to understand what the relevance of this past unfortunate episode is at the moment ? Okay, I get the outrage etc., but we all get over that. I get that the priest involved is dead. I get that the Bishop is a thicko and incompetent. I get that it is not a police matter. So, why is it flashing its lurid story at us again ? The only thing I can think of is that some seminarian is holding something over the bishop and other priests and seminarians as a threat in order not to have to face whatever sanctions should be coming his way for his involvement in this matter ? If that is the case, then it is worthy of being reported to authorities because it is threatening behaviour with elements of coercion and possible bribery. Other than that I can’t see much relevance, and it doesn’t really tell us anything that we don’t already know, or haven’t seen many times in the dysfunctional behaviour and lifestyle of the clerical and episcopal culture. Given that, I would suggest that the bishop and others be brave and deal with any threatening seminarian robustly, confident in the knowledge that whatever he could possibly reveal it will not surprise us because we have seen it so many times before and it is what we expect !

I can see the point. Pat Buckley has a long history of publishing things on his blog which makes people wonder why he’s done so.
Then, just occasionally, everything becomes apparent when a further revelation is published later.
The point of publishing unproven things is a contemporaneous record. Then when the seminarian is ordained priest it all comes out.
It is exactly to provide the kind of proof which people accuse him of never providing, because a sudden statement three years from now that the ordaining bishop knew full well that Fr X had sex on an sltar as a seminarian, would be dismissed bu Pat’s detractors as without evidence.
The picture of what is really happening in the church is of necessity only revealed in short flashes as things get out.
Pat also does the whole world a favor by publishing these slips of information because if these are what get out I shudder to think what the whole picture is like.

It is interesting that you write that the late Fr. Lomasney was an accident waiting to happen. While we like to (and should) to let the dead rest in peace, it is alleged that the other party on the altar is a seminarian – so it is important that the identity of the other party is established. If the individual is NOT a seminarian; then this story needs to stop appearing on this blog. As it keeps appearing it leads me to believe that the allegation is true. The identity of the (alleged) seminarian has been repeatedly published on this blog. Bishop Buckley who revels in notoriety has not indicated that he is in receipt of any form of threat of legal action from the (alleged) seminarian. However, I suspect it is only a matter of time if Bishop Pat Buckley is correct before the video [allegedly] taken of the sex act on the altar involving the late Fr. Lomasney and the [alleged] seminarian comes into the public domain.

Then Bishop Crean will be forced to make a public statement. Then the proverbial shit will really hit the fan, because it will evidence irrefutably that Bishop Crean was negligent in not taking the allegations, seriously. It seems to any rational person that the involvement of the police was nothing more than a smokescreen to avoid dealing with the really difficult issues…

I am ambivalent about Pat Buckley and his blog. But at times I am so grateful for its existence when it highlights this truly sick and sacrilegious behaviour.

It is nonsense to keep saying let the dead rest in peace – what a load of bollox – if that was the case war crimes would never be investigated, wrongs by the institutions or organisations they represented could never be brought to book or justice – it’s the truth that sets us free not sentimentality or fuzzy thinking about leave the poor crature alone and rest in peace etc – the rebuke of the church is ‘Leave it alone’ the cry of justice is Over my Dead Body.

Pat ,the altar should be smashed up and replaced. We all know that, but it won’t happen. Its so frustrating knowing the bishop has gone into denial mode.
Unfortunately for him if he doesn’t act quickly events will overtake him.
The video is going to be publicly revealed very soon.
It will then be too late for the seminarian also.
At the moment he is being told to lie low and stay quiet. They are hoping it will go away. He’s being reassured by other nasty, promiscuous queens in Maynooth that nothing will happen.
Its an abomination that these guys can be heading towards ordination. It must be stopped. They have no comeback. They can threaten and squeal but to no avail.
What needs to happen urgently is for Crean and at least 2 other bishops to publicly acknowledge that this terrible sacrilege took place and serious mistakes were made in allowing these people to remain as long as they have in seminary . They deflect by asking for evidence when its staring them in the face for so long.
Pat has revealed time and time again some of those who are actually working to bring down the church for good. Their actions are sacrilege. Its nothing to do with being gay. Its the promiscuity and arrogance. We don’t need them.
If action is taken now it will ,in fact, help restore some of the esteem which has been taken from the institutional church.
There are many fine priests and always were. It seems that some bishops are trying their level best to work fairly and engagingly with everyone.
Normally Rome doesn’t take much interest in the goings on here but I believe that in this case they are.
Time is running out.
This thing will bring down a lot of people and action is need now.
Starting with the removal of the seminarians immediately.
As regards the altar priest he is gone and its a pity that he couldn’t be helped when he was here. I can’t judge him.

Like

John you are totally unfair to most Bishops they are not stupid men and really are hurting However they cannot act without evidence they need sound evidence.
You only need to ask Bishop Fintan how hard it is and remember most Bishops are not Canon Lawyers but they have access to they but it drains the resources of the dioceses and the clergy know this so they play it out.
Father Gerard Fitzgerald and Father Carey should resign but they will not so canon law needs to kick in.
Bishop Crean better tread careful here or he could end up like John McAreavey and forced to resign.

Sexual harassment of any kind has no rightful place in any profession, or wider society let alone the priesthood. I am employed. Even if I committed verbal harassment, I would expect to be sacked. Stop using the idiosyncrasies of the Church as an excuse and turning it into a den of iniquity. Priests are ordained for the salvation of souls and therefore have a strict moral code.
The starting point for harassment should be suspension or dismissal from the clerical state.. Ecclesiastical Tribunals should only work back to a lesser sanction if there are clear mitigating factors (e.g. the harassment was low level, which would require a definition/guidance, or the perpetrator’s poor mental health was a clear contributing factor). Certain aggravating factors should necessitate disbarment unless there are clear exceptional circumstances. Repeat offender? Dismissal! Physical sexual harassment with explicit non-consent? Dismissal! A senior priest harassing someone who is inherently vulnerable by virtue of their junior rank (e.g. a curate, seminarian)? Dismissal!

I would also be keen to know from canonical minds if it would be lawful/ to capture priests who have evaded justice with weak sanctions under the current system (i.e. could existing sanctions be reviewed in exceptional circumstances)? It sickens me that some clerical abusers are still in situ and can still call themselves ‘father’’.

PS Have the bishops, ever spoken to the lay faithful about their expectations of their priest or put your view to them? There is no evidence that they do not care if priests commit harassment. There is, however, ample evidence to show that they don’t trust clergy. I wonder why. As a lay person myself , I damn right do care if my potential priest has committed harassment!

You cannot discipline clergy without written proof from the complainer and the evidence must be bomb proof.
A Bishop cannot even just transfer clergy without good reason and there must be a vacancy.
The ACP and canon Law is more for the Clergy than the Bishop or the dioceses.
However a dioceses has no responsibility for a Seminarian until he reaches the diaconate up till then the dioceses just pay for their education.
No one would get weak sanction in 2021 as it is hard enough to get a sanction so sanctions would be at the top end however they can appeal to Rome.
You will likely find Father Carey will not accept the diocesan tribunal outcome and will likely appeal o Rome even although he has a sexual criminal conviction.
Father Ger will be playing the waiting game hope it blows over but it is too late for that so he will most likely end up c/o and go through the canonical procedure.
It really is a nightmare for a Bishop more so the good ones who have inherited a right mess.

I wonder in this case what if anything or everything the Westminster Diocese knew/know of these shenanigans – how can a purchase of real estate of size under the auspices of the Secretariat of State not inform Elsie, his Financial Director, etc. And if they say they didn’t know or weren’t in the loop I find that hard to believe and if they did know what did they know. Also wasn’t some of this cash provided for from the St Peter’s Pence Collection? The sims are staggering – the buildings are worth something like £250 million – what they just fronted up without even a nod to Westminster? One to ponder as it unfolds and unravels.
