These seminarians are and have been sexually active with each other, laity, priests and monks.
They are involved in a culture of heavy drinking, poppers and drugs.
Some seminarians have been having sex with senior clergy and have been rewarded with money, holidays, extravagant meals and fashion accessories and even cars.
A small number of seminarians have evolved into clerical escorts for priests and senior clergy and sometimes they are paid exorbitant fees.
A small number of seminarians have committed crimes like assault, blackmail,sexual assault and rape.
PRIESTS:
2. Sexually active seminarians go on to be sexually active priests.
These priests continue to have sex with younger seminarians, each other and even parishioners.
Some priests engage in dangerous activities in cruising area and truck stops and toilets.
Others like Fr Carey of Killaloe commit sexual acts in public and are arrested and prosecuted.
Some priests attend gay saunas and move on to the more extreme ends of sex like BDSM.
Some priests are blackmailed and pay their blackmailers out of personal or church funds.
An increasing number of priests are becoming addicted to drugs.
BISHOPS:
Some bishops have been sexually active seminarians and priests but hooe not to be sexually active as bishops.
Some bishops succeed and some fail.
There are a number of Irish bishops who have been sexually active in the past and a small number remain sexually active as bishops.
Such bishops will be active with priests or seminarians.
That activity leaves these bishops compromised and unable to deal with erring priests as they are erring themselves.
SECRECY:
This clerical club is typified above all by secrecy and the protection of each other. It is its own type of the mafia.

+Pat here in D&C some of us are wondering why the Diocese is not implicated in the Storey funeral scandal. Why allow a religious to conduct the funeral? I know Fr Gary is a Shinner priest and had a permanent deacon on show too but why is no one addressing why the diocese allowed this? I wouldn’t conduct a funeral under covid restrictions when 2,000 people turn up and I doubt you would either Pat. Perhaps I am missing something. Somebody told me this morning Fr. Gary doesn’t live in Belfast let alone run a parish in the city. Presumably he has permission of +Noel. Many unanswered questions and it’s causing so much tension within andytown and beyond. I think we can confidently assume that there are more which are never reported to police.
This lack of reporting makes me sceptical of statistics for sexual crime, particularly rape and paedophilia – there seems to be no shortage of active paedophiles online for vigilante groups to snare.
My point in saying this is that as in society, only the tip of the iceberg of sexual (mis)behaviour in the church will ever be public. I honestly don’t know how much to multiply it by, but if the sexual crime we know about in the church is a small proportion of what has really happened I shudder to think what the full picture would be like.
For those clamouring for a police case, you need to STFU and know that these little hints and suspicions are the way the original scandal was exposed in Boston.

That article is for England and Wales last July and the CPS has changed their ways and now higher convictions.
In Ireland it is a priority just like in Scotland no stone will be left unturned.
As for the Church any sexual scandal and they will be removed from ministry pending outcome but they will be tarnished and most likely no return.
Everyone knows the Church does not like scandal so they would get rid of the scandal if there is PROOF and EVIDENCE.
The Truth will set you free even if it is revolting.

I wonder about the things said on this blog and without attempting to detract from the hurt of any person I can’t help but wonder if cynicism is the biggest abuse of all. A lot of unspoken hurt is experienced by the faithful who are faced with clerics who use reason to justify words and actions but surely in the Lord’s eyes reason all amiss. Men of lost ideals and misplaced values.
