IS KILALOE THE “DDII” – THE DIRTIEST DIOCESE IN IRELAND ?

GER THE IMPREGNATOR
JERRY THE SPRINKLER

Below are TWO of the hundreds of texts Ger Fitzgerald sent his girlfriend over their six month relationship.

He says:

“If it wasn’t for ny job we’d be doing each other nightly”.

FROM GER TO WOMAN

So Ger regards the priesthood as a JOB? Telling that?

“So you’ll be naked again in a few minutes…tell me when you’re at the gate”.

FROM GER TO WOMAN

Did Ger like to be greeted by his GF naked? An extra turn on?

FACTS OF GER FITZGERALD CASE:

1. Ger had a 6 month relationship with this lady.

2. Ger and her went out every Sunday to Limerick for food.

3. Ger, who is as tight as a duck’s ass brought the lady on the Sundays to a chip shop in Limerick 🦆

4. Ger and the lady planned to take the relationship to the next level and have intercourse.

5. As soon as the intercourse was over Ger hopped out of bed, claimed to have OCD and needed to get home 999.

6.Ger later told the lady that he only had full sexual intercourse ONCE with a woman, because of his job.

7. Ger explained that had applied the “intercourse only once” rule to all his previous women.

8. The woman was interviewed in oerson by the diocesan secretary, Fr Ger Nash and diocesan safeguarding officer, Cleo Yates.

9. Both Fr Nash and Ms Yates told the lady they believed her 100%.

Fintan Monahan

10. Bishop Monahan has told the ladyhe totally believed her story.

11. Bishop Monahan told the lady’s friend, Tommy, that Ger Fitzgerald. was denying everything.

PROPER ACTION

Fintan Monahan should have immediately Fr Jerry Carey and Fr Ger Fitzgerald from active ninistry and submit tgem to a canonical process.

WHY HAS FINTAN BEEN SO WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE;

1. Is Fintan afraid?

2. Is Fintan weak?

3. Is Fintan compromised?

4. Is Fintan incompetent?

4. Is Fintan under pressure from clerics?

5. Is Ger refusing to move and declaring independence in Clocklee with the support of his female cohorts there?

In the meantime, a priest who has been shagging women, one at a time, of course, is still mounting an altar on a daily basis, and preaching about woundedness.

And Fintan has nothing to say about the WMD – weapon of mass destruction in the priest’s trousers.

Women of Clare! Beware!

OCD wouldn’t explain his behaviour. A more likely explanation would be he knows he shouldn’t be having sex like this and so feels guilty. He may even feel he isn’t in control of his sexuality, in which case he needs to sort himself.
Not being funny but this is the kind of thing that should have been sorted before ordination.

When you see that picture of lugs you want to set about thrashing those huge lugs with a lump of wood for his failure to act. He is an impotent bishop and Francis should remove him. I do hope the Apostolic Noncio has marked lugs cards. I mean what were they thinking appointing someone with lugs like that.

Lugs is obviously utterly incompetent and completely unfit to be a diocesan bishop (another Brown disaster).
He’s being laughed at by this Ger fella who is putting it up to him and acting like the hypocritical thug he obviously is.
Having several thickos defending him and playing the old in denial/shoot the messenger is not going to save him.
He’s a disgrace and has to go .
The question is will Lugs act before its taken out of his hands.

As a woman I really can’t fathom why someone would get involved with a priest or married man. I just don;’t get it. While it’s true that a layperson doesn’t make a vow of celibacy, is there no responsibility on the other person in this situation to have some sense of integrity? For what it’s worth, I have no connection whatsoever with Killaloe and I had never heard of Fr Ger until I read this story on the blog. I’m not defending him either. I just think that there are two parties in this.

All Ger wanted was a fling while Yvonne was looking for a serious relationship, it was always going to end in tears. It’s like an extra marital affair, you’re going to get found out sooner or later while your safe enough with a short term fling.

Sure, I get those things in the sense of an initial attraction but following through into a relationship? I’m not judging anyone – I’m just a bit flummoxed by it. It can only ever end in tears surely.

Then quickly liaised and removed from the web site completely.
There is NO way Fintan Monahan can be transferred to the Archdioceses of Tuam.
I hope the victim has kept the Papal Nuncio up to date with the shocking treatment by Fintan Monahan and Ger Nash and stop their careers

Like

Well hear now, a move to Tuam? The closest thing he has to getting to Tuam is listening to the Saw Doctors and weeping while he sings “And I wish I was on that N 17”.

This spring virtually guarantees 21 years of Monaghan in Killaloe, unless he resigns. This is all very sad for all parties.

Bishop probably advised to act slowly by solicitors.
A social progromme under funded (again) due to legal costs
Lady’s led up the garden path.
Priests who can only mate once.
Parishioners wondering who in the confessional has the bigger sins.

Broken dreams, dysfunction… How much of this traces back to the incompatability of celebacy with a psychologically healthy life?

How much of it traces back to sexual immaturity compounded by an overly-academic understanding of Catholic sexual morality? Was Hugh Connolly his lecturer for moral theology? He was certainly the head of the seminary council for Ger’s time as a senior in Maynooth. And what of the man who was his formator in both junior and senior house, the man who later realised he has no priestly vocation himself and left? Are there others in Ger’s class (or Maynooth era) who may need to be returned to seminary because their ministry is founded on poor formation?

I have said it many times before. A priest with poor formation will struggle. This is not an excuse for poor behaviour. It is a statement of fact. Any person in any walk of life will have a life-long reliance on their foundational training. If we want a goof priesthood, we need a good seminary. No excuses for bad behaviour there by seminarians. No excuse there for bad decision-making by priests who have no concept of parish ministry. Ger’s trainers were Dermot Farrell, Hugh Connolly, Enda Cunningham, Donal O’Neill, Paul Prior, Fanny Mullaney.

Like

It’s a case of he said she said Pat with no proof either way. Ger probably has two phones and those texts weren’t sent from his official phone. Without proof Lugs can do nothing. As for Jerry he can’t function as a priest in Ireland again, he will be stamped for export only and begin a new ministry abroad.

You are Wrong.
Bishop Monahan can do many things and the first should have been done weeks ago when Ger should have been suspended.
Bishop Monahan, Father Nash and the safeguarding Officer believe the complainant so what message does that send to Ger Fitzgerald that he is a compulsive liar.
What does his Brother priests think or Ger likely very low for letting the club down.
Bishop Monahan is responsible for the Dioceses of Killaloe and therefore he can suspend, remove or transfer Ger at any time or place him on leave till another parish becomes available.
Bishop Monahan is letting the victim down badly and furthermore the people of Cloughleigh alongside his brother Priests and should start to consider his own Leadership.
Ger should be ashamed of himself and I agree there will be two phones and as they are personal the bishop cannot demand them but the Bishop will know he is dealing with a liar.
Some of the comment yesterday could assist the Bishop whom I am sure want rid of Ger so the information posted yesterday can you confidentially email it to.

Holy Goat the trainer you mention are all certain the best however I do ask you give Archbishop Farrell a chance a Dublin he has many plans and he is a worker.
Dermott Farrell has no baggage from Ossory and Denis Nulty is very shrewd so there God willing No problems in those two dioceses but Dermott Farrell has a mountain to climb and just hope he has the health and gets at least one Auxiliary.

Now that Tuam is vacant is suppose to be Kevin Doran or Brendan Leahy so they can amalgamate dioceses again no one knows a Dermott Farrell was a shocker as Brendan Leahy the money was on.

Is he a worker? His legacy in Maynooth was 60% loss rate of seminarians across the 7 years in formation. This was a target he set when they arrived in the welcoming prayers. He once stated his target in public. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.irishtimes.com/news/time-to-answer-the-call-1.488176%3fmode=amp

Having set the target we have 2 results.
1. 60% have been complaining for years about the integrity of the system.
2. 40% appear to eventually end up in scandal.

You say he is a worker. It is possible to be a “busy fool” and a worker.

I feel some empathy for these men. It’s hard coming to terms with sexuality in the background of Irish Catholicism. I don’t think their struggles condemn them but the arrogance that often characterises the attitude of clerics to laity certainly does. This arrogance often manifests itself in moments were clergy have not behaved as they should, rather then introspection, they rejoice and gloat among themselves in the canonical security they have. I wonder how many would still be in ministry if they were independent financially and practically, given that the “bond of communion” with the Bishop has very little influence in the thinking of the average priest.
+Pat I just looked at your Sunday Mass. Good to see you back. The courage and persistence you have always displayed in your vocation in spite of many unjust obstacles is something I find very consoling. Every good wish!

As a regular reader, it always seemed D&C was considered the dirtiest diocese in Ireland (DDII). However, with Bishop Monahan’s pictorial associations with Silverstream and Mt Melleray plus the two featured filth merchants, perhaps Killaloe is now the second dirtiest diocese in Ireland. Still, it is quite an achievement in such a short time as a bishop.

In my view, the inaugural gold medal should be jointly awarded to Bishop Crean and a certain bishop in Northern Ireland, because: a) the former has failed to do anything about what was a blatant sacrilegious act on an altar in his diocese, and, b) the latter bishop has been apprised in writing of the allegations concerning the alleged seminarian with the deceased priest of the Diocese of Cloyne, and both bishops have done f**k all.

The 29-year-old victim was tortured and then asphyxiated
A criminal court has sentenced Catholic priest Francisco Javier Bautista Ávalos to 27 years and six months in prison for the murder of Leonardo Avendaño, whose body was found in the Tlalpan borough of Mexico City on June 12, 2019.
The prison sentence will be served without options for early release. The court also ordered a fine of more than 400,000 pesos (US $19,850).
The former parish priest was found guilty of murder on Tuesday. The family had asked for the maximum sentence of 50 years.
Avendaño was reported missing on June 11, 2019, a day before his body was found in the back of a pickup truck in Tlalpan. The body showed signs of torture and asphyxiation. Bautista was detained a week later after having conducted the victim’s funeral service.
Video footage showed that he met with the 29-year-old deacon the night of his murder. Shortly after Avendaño’s death, his family said he was murdered to prevent him from going public with unspecified accusations against Bautista.
Initially, many parishioners supported Bautista. An online petition gathered more than 6,000 signatures in his support. Some early reports suggested that the murder may have been an accident in the course of a sex game. Josué Avendaño, the victim’s brother, emphatically rejected those claims.
“My brother was tortured. [His injuries] weren’t from a game or anything like that. It was something that was planned in advance. My brother was tortured, and then, after that, the cause [of death] was asphyxiation,” he said. He added that the body was badly bruised with a broken nose and some missing teeth.
After the sentencing, the victim’s brother said he was satisfied with outcome.

Going back to clergy wealth discussed yesterday. Bishop Leo McCartie (Northampton) left behind £255,000. Not bad as his lived to be 100 and must have racked up care home fees. He left cash gifts of £126,000 to various individuals including £25,000 to his ‘devoted’ housekeeper who seems to have retired with him to the same nursing home. The rest of his estate (about £130,000) was left to the diocese of Northampton.

Wonder how many clergy die with over £1 million in their estate?
How sad that McArties imagination didn’t go beyond giving it to Northampton Diocese?
Would all the little old ladies who give money as Mass Stipends do so if they knew ‘Fader’ had almost 1/4 million in his bank account poor crature!!
How much do bishops earn?
Do they get a higher pension than a bog standard parish priest?
I think linking paying money for a sacrament is obscene and deeply offensive – both to God and everyday folk.
The first Reformation was all to do with money and purgatory maybe the second will be all about child abuse and the abuse of money.
Bottom line is – Catholic priests can’t safeguard children does anyone seriously think they can safeguard money?
Before you label me a begrudger, lapsed, a hater etc – be assured I’m neither but God in his mercy made me curious and while it may kill a cat it hasn’t killed me and I love how questions about clergy and cash rattles the clerical cage. Something to hide me thinks.

@Seamus and 4:41
You both display an inadequate or even twisted understanding of God’s mercy. The Catholic tradition is very plain both that humans must act with regard to the whole circumstances of an event and also that forgiveness requires contrition, ideally perfect. It is not enough to say ‘be merciful to X’ unless you are sure that X is contrite, that any risks to others around his behaviour are prevented, that reparation has been made for the sin, that steps have been taken to ensure it doesn’t happen again and finally if it is a crime that any civil penalties are observed.
I am afraid that your attitude is exactly the attitude taken by the bishops about abusing priests and has led to incredible damage and scandal. A developed theology of mercy will take the other aspects above into account.

Are you taking the proverbial piddle?
The definition of a mistake according to Merriam-Webster dictionary is- a wrong judgment : misunderstanding : a wrong action or statement proceeding from faulty judgment, inadequate knowledge, or inattention.
A crime is defined as- an ILLEGAL ACT for which someone can be punished by the Government especially : a gross violation of law: a grave offense especially against morality : criminal activity : something reprehensible, foolish, or disgraceful.
Sin can be defined as- an offense against religious or moral law : an action that is or is felt to be highly reprehensible : an often serious shortcoming : fault : transgression of the law of God : a vitiated state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God.
We are living in a democracy not a theocracy. The good Lord certainly doesn’t take His cues from 8:29pm. Maybe 8:29ers might feel more comfortable moving to the Vatican State.

6.22: You are so totally wrong. The ministry of a priest is not to condemn or judge in such a way that you make the person feel like rubbish, unworthy and useless. The ministry of a priest – in my humble understanding is to lead the penitent to deep remorse, sorrow and a realisation of the wrong or hurt or abuse committed. When the penitent fulfils has genuine, contrite heart, that surely is the moment to offer God’s mercy. There is a big difference, of course, when speaking about the crime of sexual abuse of minors and vulnerable people. And, sir, do not make the stupid mistake of comparing me or any other priest, to being like abusers or like church personnel who covered up abuse. I never was and am not a cover upperer!! That’s the lazy, lying narrative perpetuated on this blog. I think, sir, you need to reread the Gospels and truly discover the JESUS aporoach to sinners!! 30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”(I)

Seamus you are forgetting the crime it was of a sexual nature so with Safeguarding there is NO place for a Bishop to place him.
Parishioners find it repulsive in Ennis two clergy in a month and tbh so do the Clergy.

Bishop Pat, is priesthood considered a profession, with a professional code of conduct, fitness to practice procedures, professional competencies, etc ?

You having a laugh it is suppose to be very strict however it seems full of weak and compromised Bishops.
I bet Bishop Pat Buckley would kick them out as well if he is honest.

Pat I often disagree with your very liberal moderation for comments but on days like today I can see it clearly has benefits.
The main benefit towards the bottom of the comments is to demonstrate that the church has learned nothing from the sexual scandal of the past decades and are still quite happy to let a sex offender get away scot free and say that this is something to do with God! Holy shit you couldn’t make this up.
I predict that in years to come when RC clergy are compulsorily tagged by law these clowns will still be screaming mercy.
Just to be clear- if a teacher, doctor nurse or solicitor had committed this crime they would definitely be looking at a fitness to practice. If they failed to declare it they would be looking at being struck off for sure.
My favourite gospel passage is the one where Jesus says, plough your own furrow and let everyone else get on with what they feel like doing and justify it with some pseudo-spiritual rubbish.
Oh that’s right, he didn’t.

I agree. It seems to me the church has learned nothing from the ongoing sex scandals now
in the public domain over the last 35 years. Gods mercy, stone throwing, forgiveness or
a second chance-new beginnings, are not the issues.
