SSPX ALSO MIRED IN SEX ABUSE ALLEGATIONS.

THE SOCIETY OF SAINT PIUS X – the Latin Mass and Traditional brigade are drowning in sex abuse allegations presently.

Feberve

The Society was founded by Archbishop Le Feberve who rejected the changes of the Second Vatican Council.

The above report is from Church Militant.

I am not a fan of CM – but they do address issues others will not touch.

It shows the lie to the claim that the sec abuse crisis was a Vatican 11 crisis.

Sexual abuse by religious and priests is 1700 years old at least.

It seems to me tgat tge superiors of tge SSPX were as bad at cover up as the Romans.

Their former superior general Bishop Fellay is a real cover-up merchant.

I did not realise there were as many as three hundred gay SSPX priests in Scotland. That will require a considerable amount of silk and satin and, of course, lace, I imagine.

Your point about the length of time abuse has been happening in the church is significant. Throughout that time sex has only been acceptable between one adult man and woman in marriage. Why is this apparently so difficult to see as a problem?
I am coming to a point where I think that the Catholic church can only be found where abuse is acted on.
Otherwise the apparent holiness of the church is a sham.

Like

Thanks for admitting the Romans are the Church as there is only one Church
SSPX is now run by a priest and he is in charge of everything as the older Bishops just do Ordinations (mock) and Confirmations.
But the Romans are attempting to clean the Church the SSPX are in denial not in their priories.
People is glass houses should not throw stones.
Also they should take the splint out their own eyes.

You do know that the Vatican regards SSPK ordinations and sacraments are perfectly valid?

So they are not “mock”.

Pope Emeritus Benedict tried to get them back into the fold so accepted their Ordinations.
However it is all under discussion with Pope Francis and we do not know what he will do.
What we know is he has made it very clear recently there is only One Church and One Leader and it is him.
HE went further this week and said the appointment to the CDFDS will be pro Vatican Two.
Interesting times.

Rome has not allowed the ordination of the organisations Leader to be made a Bishop yet so that will let us know what Rome thinks.

They want to be like the Ordinate of Walsingham

Bishop Bernard Felatio is far worse then any RC cover up bishops and I hope he rots in hell. There are some seriously twisted perverts in the SSPX, one of them even used knitting needles and scissors on his victims. They need hitting with some good law suits to take their wealth away. It’s the only way they learn.

Like

Bishop pat.
Certainly not attacking the Sacraments as they are to Sacred to attack.
But after fifty one years of trying to change Rome’s mind surely they should start to see that it is not happening.
So not they are holding out for an Ordinate which is on hold until the new CDFDS is appointed and he maybe a bit more lenient towards the SSPX however I very much doubt it.

Rome has stated that the fruits of Vatican two have to be more used in parishes more involvement from the people and that certainly goes against SSPX.

Mary what’s the alternative? Live in a rose tinted spectacle world where all the seminarians, priests and bishops are so holy and pure that they would never abuse children and vulnerable adults? Did our Lord not get so angry with the money lenders in the temple that he overthrew their tables and kicked their backsides out? If our Lord had not exposed the hypocrisy of the Pharisees then he may never have been crucified! Bishop Pat is following our Lord’s example in calling out and condemning the deep rooted sin in the church. The current stench in the church is suffocating and many unable to breathe because of it.

Mary that is very unfair. Anyone who has worked behind the scenes of the church rapidly comes across a very corrupt and toxic culture. This needs to be brought into the light and dealt with. Even Pope Benedict said that there was so much filth in the church.

I follow all denominations including daily Mass broadcast from my own Catholic parish and your broadcast regularly.
Remember Fr Buckley and who am I to preach or indeed judge others but Jesus loved sinners but hated the sin.
We all have made poor judgement in life and those in position that commit wrong do need dealing and challenged but from the appropriate authorities, not being hung out to dry and than lambasted for months to follow.
The Catholic Church has committed much terrible wrong and caused much pain and suffering but I do believe in constructive criticism towards it, but resent the flith and slander that many including yourself continue to use against it and its weak members. There are other more powerful ways to bring about change- change that will make it more welcoming for women like me.
God bless you and your family.

9.29am: My sentiments too Mary. This blog is certainly justified in highlighting the abuse, wrongs, corruption and egregious crimes committed by the Church. However, the same narrative us repeated far too frequently with individuals being chased down, 3/4/5/6 times, perhaps more! If someone has been named and shamed, surely we should leave it to the authorities to deal with the situation instead of inviting the throwing of boulders of harsh, merciless judgments? We cannot dispense a lynch mob style justice on any person through this platform. Many of the comments are merely attempts to incite hatred, vengeance and violence (as in comments two days ago where people were asked to spit at priests and bishops!!). That’s reprehensible and regrettable. Some commentators make balanced, rational and constructive criticisms, which are very welcome. However, there is a large cohort whose sole mission is to crush, crucify, mock, scorn and delight in the ignominious fall of others. That I find morally reprehensible. Spiritually, the blog is not interested in supporting such a quest. Instead, we are subjected to a daily diet of poisonous, damaging and outlandish narratives. If we want spiritual nourishment for our faith, prayer and spirituality, there are other, wonderful alternative sites. Mary, I suggest you search them out, perhaps even tune in to your own parish webcam!!

This blog exposes abuse corruption and criminality in the RCC.
It is not a blog focusing on nurturing faith, prayer, and spirituality.
What is morally reprehensible is the Vatican policy in covering up child rape for generations.
What is equally morally reprehensible is how survivors of clerical abuse are treated by the church when they come forward, as exemplified in Christine Niles- Church Militant video on the SSPX.

The large cohort of abusers in the church are destroying lives, discrediting the gospel and moral authority of the church while, at this juncture, bringing Christianity into disrepute.
Unfortunately, church authorities cannot be trusted to deal with errant abusive clerics.

Like

The Authorities do not deal with it and that is why the blog is here.
far too many weak Bishops not acting.
Look for example of Fintan Monahan two clear cut cases in canon Law and he is going so slow.

Ger Fitzgerald is using his Mass to promote his case and that is wrong today is Vocations Sunday and not one word about vocations not just to the Priesthood or Religious Life but the vacations of all.

No it was about him and a farm and sheep and the sheep (his followers ) not to lose Faith.

And he forgets the Gospel speaks about the lost sheep and the one lost yet he lost one because he slept with a parishioner.

This blog is separate from our Faith.
Bishop Buckley has his Oratory and his congregation when others go to their own parishes or do not believe.

The blog forum is highlight the filth in the Roman Catholic Church and today in the SSPX and anyone in a right mind wants the filth highlighted and Pope Francis calls it Caca.

People like the child abusers, double standard clergy, the sauna crew and this past month the Carey’s and Fitzgerald’s all have no place in the Catholic Church.

There are obviously some very well motivated people but there is a hierarchy of leadership, too many unknowns, a complete lack of transparency and an unhealthy connection with very wealthy donors. The deliberate web of deceit, cover up and a belief in their own untouchable world is totally bizarre and dangerous. We have seen ither cultic groups end disastrously….

News stories about financial settlements with adults who had sexual encounters with a bishop show that the issue of sex abuse in the Catholic Church is not limited to the abuse of minors. When a Cardinal was suspended from the priesthood after being credibly accused of abusing an altar boy, it was also revealed that financial settlements for his actions had been made earlier with two adults.

The church has adopted a zero tolerance for the sexual abuse of minors, but how should it deal with other sexual activity by priests?

The requirement of celibacy for priests in the Catholic Church is a topic of debate in the church today. Many think that priestly celibacy should be optional, as it is in other Christian churches. Pope Francis has signalled that he is open to considering the ordination of married men but wants the request to come from national bishops’ conferences.

But Francis is also very strong in stating that in the meantime, celibacy must be observed. He would not throw out every priest who violated celibacy; individual lapses can be forgiven. But a priest who is incapable of observing celibacy should return to the lay state, Francis wrote before he became pope, especially if there is a child who has a right to a father.

Not everyone agrees with Francis. Some are less forgiving and would expel from the priesthood anyone who even once violates his promise of celibacy. Others argue that celibacy has never been universally observed and bad laws should not be enforced. In some cultures, bishops know that many of their priests do not observe celibacy and simply ignore it as long as it does not become public or as long as the parishioners don’t complain.

It is unknown how widespread are violations of celibacy. There are lots of anecdotes, but little data. How are we to think about those who do not observe celibacy?

There is universal agreement that those who have sex with minors should be prosecuted as criminals and expelled from the priesthood. But what about violations with adults? Are there other sexual violations that should be treated by the church with zero tolerance?

Rape or other criminal violations should, of course, receive zero tolerance. These violations should be reported to the police and prosecuted under the law. There is no place in the priesthood for such criminals.

But what about other cases of sex with adults? Many people don’t think sex between consenting adults is an issue. But they and the church need to learn from feminists and the #MeToo movement. They have taught us about the danger of sex between adults who are not in positions of equal power.

For the church, this would clearly be the case of a bishop or priest having sex with a seminarian or a bishop having sex with a priest. The relationship here is even greater than that between an employer and employee. A bishop is supposed to be a father to his priests and seminarians. The church needs a zero-tolerance policy toward such abuse. Any bishop having sex with a seminarian or priest should lose his office, as should any priest having sex with a seminarian.

There also are many lay people employed by the church. Surely, the church should follow the highest standards in protecting lay employees from sexual harassment from their supervisors, whether priests or lay. Here the church should adopt best practices developed in the secular world.

There are also pastoral relationships that need to be examined since often the people a priest deals with are very vulnerable.

For centuries, the church has recognized this problem with regard to confessors and penitents. As a result, priests are excommunicated if they absolve their sexual partners.

Secular professionals, such as psychologists, recognize these dangers as well. Clients can be very vulnerable and dependent on their therapist. The feelings and emotions that come up in counseling can be exploited. The church can learn from other professions about best practices.

Why am I not surprised that the SSPX has a history of questionable sexual abuse and coverup. I don’t doubt there are financial irregularities that go on as well. No surprise at all, given that the usual SSPX and Traditionalist follower, including priests, are very strange people with rather odd and autistic tendencies. Otherwise, why would they be up tight and rigorous and take inordinate interest in such matters as their dress, their liturgical actions, their sense of their own importance, all that elevating things to a ridiculous level and significance ? I’m sure a good psychologist could give a damning explanation for why they are as they are, and why they attract such strange people. Best avoided, I think.

If we take two steps back from the increase in sexual offences among clergy before Council we see leadership at a loss how to cope with the new trends (underhandedly fostered by some among their number at or before that time).

Then if we take two steps back from the announcement of Council we have a confused picture with:

– the generation J H Newman helped to genuine belief (schools and soup kitchens and all) had been wiped out in the Great War (hence there was no-one to catechise my ancestors when they enquired)
– Barth’s fundamentalism taking root
– the seeds of cliquey mutant Schelerist “body theology” waiting in the wings
– different supposed purposes for a Council being touted in different countries
– things that were bad for Ireland and some Latino countries needing to be stopped
– different liturgy reforms being pursued in different countries and some good ones then abolished needlessly
– usual Catholic passivity and lack of knowledge by laity and hierarchy alike about what true liturgical values (or belief) really were
– a daft model adopted where bishops had to have their ministry halted for 4 months every year but not know what was going on the rest of the year – or even during those four months
– shallow counterreactions to tactical retreats (picture Basil Cardinal Fawlty goose stepping as he barks “Don’t talk about contraception / gaiety / non-gaiety / renovation / anti-renovation / etc”)
– sloganeering from power wielders, which has become ever more nonsensical
– accusations of weight throwing around by those doing it worse against those not doing it so much (blackening in order to steal affections)
– incomprehensible volume published afterwards and impenetrable opinions by proponents re. what it apparently was about

Wojtyla and Ratzinger were leading “revolutionaries” (i.e reactionaries). Kung tried to warn and asked good questions. Overhauling of Vat. I, Trent and before, was overdue. Probably, there were “councils within the Council”. Modern media – which Paul VI pushed – have led to worse Vatican City State tyranny than ever before, now trying to abolish our consciences. At one time (perhaps in some parts of England) your religion was private – from the church.

The transubstantiation fallacy (which is distinct from Real Presence) has led to a “need” to tamper with clergy’s personal ontology (which fortunately, hasn’t “got to” a lot of those I know): whereas as per Scripture we are ALL becoming sanctified in Holy Spirit providence if we believe, especially those of us thankful to not have any “vocation”. Especially from Pius XII’s time on, there always was good in church liturgies: more Scripture than other denominations, a sermon (often passable to good), Lord’s Prayer to join in. Why was the Office not given to us? Apparently there was at one time a “second gospel” and a St Michael prayer which should not have been deemed unfashionable. But liturgical reforms shortly before Council, and since, have not borne much rrelation to Council. Pius X’s “eucharist” fad has denied politicians tactful cover. Few people genuinely took up Leo XIII’s Holy Spirit prayer.

Wise priests told me during the 1970s and 1980s “the Church has nothing more for you” than the few hours instruction I had got at age 9. They knew the rubble would take more than a lifetime to land on our heads.

Father Peter was only filling in while replacements were found.
Bishop John Wilson is sorting the Archdioceses out for the future which may take a while.
Vicar Generals, Diocesan Secretaries and Chancellors all need to be in parishes for two reason the most important to be next to the Lay faithful and also the shortage of clergy.
The UK Government has changed the Visa system so it is very difficult to bring Clergy from overseas even for short term gaps.
This is why there will be a big hopefully uptake for the laity to be more involved in their parishes.

In Bereavement situations the Laity could do the receiving and the Graveside committal.
