Police in British Columbia say yhey have found the bodies of 215 children buried in the Kamloops school run by the Catholic Church.
They also say there may be more bodies as there are still large parts of the school grounds to be searched.
Some of the buried children are as young as three years old.
The bodies were discovered using ground penetrating radar.
From the 1800s until the 1970s 150,000 First Nation children were forced to enter Christian run schools. When there, they were converted to Christianity.
The police suspect that at least 6,000 children died and were secretly buried.
In these schools children were beaten and tortured for speaking their native language and forced to speak English and French.
May of the chikdren adter being released from these schools went on to becone alcoholics abd drud addicts to cope with their pain and suffering.
There were at least 51 known deaths and burials at Kamloos school between 1915 and 1963.
The Canadian government is planning to repatriate the remains to places recommended by the First Nation themselves.
The Catholic Church ran Kanloops from 1890 to 1969 when it was handed over to the government.
PAT SAYS
First we had the 800 Tuam Babies and now we have the 215 Kamloops babies.
How many other babies were secretly buried by Catholic priests, nun and Brother internationally – around the globe.
Its probably in the tens or hundreds of thousands.
This situation compares to Hitler’s concentrations camps where 6 million died.
The only difference possibly is in the scale of the numbers who were tortured and died .
We have known all kinds of things about bishops, priests and religious.
Now we know that they were the murderers of babies and accessories to such murders.
Maybe those countries who outlaw Neo Nazis should also outlaw Neo Catholic hierarchs, clergy and religious?

I wonder how the cathbots will try to spin this one. Let’s see. They might make out it wasn’t Catholics that did this. They might make out nobody else is any different (although nobody else claims to be the divinely appointed repository of revelation). Or they might make out some local Protestants snuck in and hid the bodies there. Or they could simply erupt in fury, have a go at me and bring up Magna Carta somehow.

Probably like the children placed in homes in Ireland, no one from any government agency paid any attention, visited for supervision, reported conditions: they neglected their miral and ethical responsibilities. Fact. As for the Catholic Church who took responsibility for this school, utter shame that any abuse was perpetrated. A thorough investigation is warranted. No one, irrespective of background or profession or faith denomination can attempt to justify this horror. We await fuller information.

No 8ne basically cared for the welfare of these children. A whole level of civil and governmental collusion, along with the Catholic church failed morally to care for those in their institutions. Meantime some of us had the foolishness to want to find out the things of God. Meantime some of us got told we had a talent for “negotiating”. That the “existential” doesn’t have to be existential after all; that the organisational sacraments don’t need any relation with organisational integrity. That it doesn’t matter that you are a manipulative manipulator (which we weren’t before we started), because the “negotiating” is in a “good” manipulative cause.
Before the rot was much set in and reinforced by JP II’s shallow fads, more than half my old parish “didn’t go up” for smarties, affording tactful cover to politicians. Was the old boy trying to turn us into nuns? I don’t do nun. And that’s just me.

A dark time for society, church and state in Canada. People with evil in their hearts carry out evil. Evil people cannot expect mercy at the end of their lives. Do some so-called religious people, but in reality they are not religious people, delude themselves about mercy?

Clergy and religious in such parts of the world, like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other mission territories, were pretty much laws unto themselves. The Church left them tojust to carry on, and the secular authorities were just grateful that they provided much needed services such as health and education. The same scenario existed in Ireland following the establishment of the State when the secular authorities simply didn’t have the capacity to provide all those services which were required. And so, the Church stepped in. Part of the Faustian pact / deal was that the Church was left to its own devices, few questions were asked, and the presumption was that these Church clergy and religious were good intentioned and would do good. We know now that a lot of good was done, but once the curtain was pulled back we saw that this was cover for so much suffering, pain, and abuse that was inflicted on those who were some of the most vulnerable in society – babies, children, women, the sick, orphans etc. I guess wherever in the world the Church was given freedom to run its own affairs similar abuses will have taken place, indeed in some parts of the world are still taking place.
The lesson to be learned from all this is ? Effective oversight. Just leaving institutions like the Church to their own devices and to mark their own homework is a recipe for coverup and lack of accountability. I think there is still an argument for outside oversight and accountability in the work in which the Church is involved, given that the Church still has as its core client base some of the most vulnerable people in society, and has shown and continues to show that it is not capable of adequately protecting these most vulnerable groups with whom they work. We see this trend already in accountability investigations like IICSA, and in noises being made about outside oversight of such things as safeguarding. The Church doesn’t like it, because it will lose the control that it is used to exercising, and the ability to massage and coverup the truth to suit its own purposes. However, it is coming, and it should come. The Church only has itself to blame for this. It abused the trust and the privilege that it was given for its own ends and to protect its own people. I think the faithful know this instinctively, and therefore it is no surprise – as + Martin of Armagh has suddenly realised – that in the majority of people’s life the Catholic Church has slipped well down their list of priorities and major interest. Well, what do you expect when you abuse their children, lie and cover up, and run things in order to protect your own interests and your own reputation ? As the Americans say : Go figure !

Boris and Carrie Marriage. Westminster Cathedral involvement. Such a lot to unpick here. So, the rationale / justification for Boris getting married in a Catholic ceremony in Westminster Cathedral is that his previous marriages were null and void. Presumably because either they did not in themselves reach the test of sacramentality, or because Boris was technically a Catholic having been baptised one but never practiced, and therefore when he did get married previously such marriages were null and void / illicit / whatever ? So, doors flung wide open. Okay, I get the cold logic of canon law.
However, there is another side to this. Boris is a liar, Boris cannot be trusted, Boris has a very flimsy relationship with the truth. This has been evidenced multiple times during his life, both publicly and privately. Publicly, he has been sacked a number of times for lying, firstly from a newspaper job for making up stories, and then from the Shadow Cabinet by Michael Howard for lying about an affair he was having. He’s probably been let go a number of other times because of his rather loose relationship with the truth. Politically, he has lied through his teeth about Brexit (remember the Bus and the NHS ?); ask Arlene and the DUP and certain groups in NI, and they will tell you he has lied to them about the Irish Sea Border; he’s struggled to show any vestige of honesty in other dealings, in particular with the business of JohnLewisGate and his flat. The man lies as a matter of course. Privately, he’s already had two marriages, during both of which he was engaging in extra-marital affairs, the consequence of which is that there are at least two children scattered around London who are his and he supports but refuses to recognise, as well as a clutch of kids from his various (but apparently do not count) marriages. In relationships this man cannot be trusted. One does wonder why Carrie thinks that at the first bit of skirt that takes his liking he won’t be sniffing around the interesting parts ? I very much doubt if the newly married couple will survive in their relationship for many years. Boris will wander and lie and do his usual adultery.
So, please do tell me, in any prudent pastoral assessment of a person’s suitability to receive sacraments, why is Boris J judged to be worthy ? Do you honestly tell me that this man believes his marriage promises ? Or has any intention of upholding them ? Especially given his proven track record. What nitwit of a priest sat there and believed him ?
Especially since same priest and many other priests will have sat with people who are much more honest, decent and faithful that BJ, and refused them access to the sacraments – people with relationship / marriage difficulties, gay people, people who just want to do their best, but are held at bay. Whereas BoJo swans in and is embraced. It stinks !

10.28am I’m glad that you can get the cold logic of Canon Law. As a priest, it has been the only thing that I have been able to explain to those who asked. As a baptised Catholic, Boris has access to the sacraments. The fact that he has not practiced does not take that right away. If he has been reconciled with the Catholic Church, through the Sacrament of Reconciliation that would be a blessing. We don’t know the full facts.
I remember when we were being taught about Canon Law around marriage, the wise old priest teaching us spoke about the situation where there is great uncertainty about intentions in the marriage. If people around the couple were saying it shouldn’t happen because of A B or C or if it was thought that the person was incapable of making the vows. The old priest told us to make notes on the original marriage papers about our doubts, as it could help in an annulment process.
Just out of sheet nosiness, I am wondering if the have signed a prenup, As that would invalidate the marriage as it shows there is a lack of intention of it being for life.

I think we must also be cognizant of the truth that most nations did nor treat indindigenous people at all humanly, kindly, respectfully, justly or compassionately. Look at the way we treat the traveller community or the poor homeless, those without status. Canada cannot wash its hands of the bigotry and racism with which it treated indigenous people, nor America, nor South Africa. As for the death toll of abortions in all jurusdictions which allow the death/killing of the unborn almost up to full term, who will mourn their needless, cruel and unnecessary deaths – all innocent human beings. Pat these cathbots are incredible, and to think they’re supposed to have educated consciences!
You would think a religious body of supposedly superior morals could produce followers who could respond better than by referring to virtually every other moral failing except the one under discussion!
They even bring up their favourite whipping boy of abortion. Again, you would expect that a religious body with morals would not be reduced to pointing at some other perceived evil. It suggests they’re going to carry on killing children until abortion is outlawed!
The moral giants here are people like Magna Carta, MMM, and anyone else who has had their eyes opened to the iniquity of the institution. I think children would be far safer with them than the moral cripples who keep shouting that they’re being persecuted and nobody else is any better.

They have NO shame as anyone else word be embarrassed but the clowns were not stupid and they are lead by Amy the Clown however they sent Bishop Michael who is only an Auxiliary awaiting Down and Connor

The usual pro forma response and no doubt the diocesan legal team- on speed dial, naturally- are now fending off all and every inquiry concerning this latter day Massacre of the Innocents. The objective is to buy time and try and bury the matter- forgive the gross and inappropriate pun.
Ngyuen wants the matter to up and disappear. It won’t be that simple. Like Pell he will no doubt engage in some serious legal hardball with the victims families and first nations representatives

Thank you NatLog for making that available.
My comment on it: pious claptrap with no concrete proposal for redress.
Then again, that’s typical..

Here’s a beautiful piece from Bach’s sacred repertoire: “Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme” — “Awake, the voice is calling us…”
Better known as: “Sleepers’ Awake. . .”
We have chosen this beautiful piece, just for you, Denise. Hope you enjoy!

PS: Your silence around the Commission table was so deadening. It easily could have stopped there — but it didn’t!
