NEW VATICAN PENALTIES FOR CHILD ABUSE INADEQUATE AND WISHY WASHY.

Marie Collins

MARIE COLLINS, the child abuse survivor and campaigner has spoken out about the total inadequacy and shortcomings of the new Vatican penalties for the abuse of children and vulnerable adults by clerics.

Marie condemned the Vatican for not including a NO ZERO TOLERANCE and NO MANDATORY REPORTING.

She went on to say that the Vatican still saw women and children as being “TEMPTRESSES”.

According to the new rules an offending priest CAN be punished.

But it still left to the local bishop to punish or not and decide the punishment.

This says Marie Collins amounts to NO CHANGE.

It also excuses priests who offended IN THE HEAT OF PASSION!

The document also equates CHILD ABUSE with ADULTERY!

Apparently the bishops of England and Wales asked the Vatican not to use tgis language.

TheVatican ignored them!

The Vatican excused it as TRADITIONAL LANGUAGE!

Collins said:

“As a survivor of abuse as a child it bothers me that I’m still being lumped in under ” thou shalt not commit adultery”.

PAT SAYS:

There is only one way to sort the Vatican out:

1. Italy must renounce the 1929 Mussolini concard with the Vatican and bring it back under Italian and European law.

2. The international community should regard the Vatican as a rogue state and as an axis of evil.

3. Interpol and the Hague should investigate the Vatican as a criminal abuser of human rights and the rights of the child.

4. Take the pope out of the Vatican in handcuffs and march him and others off to be put on trial in a similar way to the Nazis in 1945.

So the Vatican excuses treating children, and vulnerable adults, who are raped or sodomised by romanist priests as parties to adultery on the ground that this is… traditional language?!
This strumpet, and her pimp-pervert/pimp-pervert-protecting priests, will never learn; such is their arrogance, they think they have nothing TO learn.
But wait! ALL the good priests we keep hearing about on this blog, ad nauseum, will stand up to the plate here.
Won’t you, Holy Goat?

Well pointed out Seamus. As you rightly say, the bishops wanted a change in language and were happy to leave the wishy-washy guidelines as they are.

Seamus, with respect, learn to read my comments with a less jaundiced and prejudicial eye: I said (and you even quoted me) : ‘ALL the good priests…’ The bishops of England and Wales clearly do not meet this criterion.

So we have ‘good priests’ and ‘bad priests’, but what is clear is that the bad defeat the good, otherwise there would be no child rape or crime in the Church. In short, the combined actions of the Church leans towards the evil the priests say they are against in the world, so hypocrisy rules. Of the thousands of heavens the the priests of all the denominations in the world, the individual human desires of priests thwart the rule of the imaginary spiritual heavens; and Holy Orders have no ontological effect on the priests themselves. Therefore , we are dealing with a man-made, man-centred Church. Not even the magically thinking of the church can escape the basic logic therein!

Seamus, your ego isn’t big enough to hide your personal embarrassment, which is only going to deepen the more you duck and dive the silly gaffe you made earlier.

How do you know that all the so-called ‘good’ priests are thankful to the bishops of England and Wales for their protesting that Vatican lie?

Or did you just make that up, Seamus, to save face, as the Vatican is trying to do over its plethora of priest-perverts by presenting the criminally abused as tempters (and, therefore, as co-responsible)?

Pope Francis is as much part of the problem as the false perception that he’s part of the solution. His own record on this issue is appalling and scandalous. Argentina, Chilie, McCarrick etc.
Clerical child abuse and institutional cover up/perverting justice is ‘intrinsic’ to the Roman Catholic priesthood.
Amendments to Canon Law, apologies, Synods, reduced to the lay state are all part of the playbook and completely ineffectual.
Everything changes / nothing changes.
It’s the problem of evil – the awful, devastating reality is that the Roman Catholic priesthood has always attracted child abusers and always will.
Canon Law won’t change it – the Pope arrested for Crimes Against Humanity, Atchbishops imprisoned for covering up, bankrupt dioceses, global shutdown of seminaries (paedophile factories), the Vatican and Holy See made a pariah state for not abiding by international law and money laundering regulations would be a great start.
Bring It On.

I would have thought that Vinny would welcome this kind of thinking by the Vatican, since he has spent so much time in the past trying to minimise sexual abuse of the vulnerable by his priests, usually with the trope that, of course, most sexual abuse happens in families and that priestly sexual abuse is such a small phenomenon in comparison, and therefore isn’t that terrible, surely ?! Vin used to begin pretty much anything he said about abuse with this statement. It is indicative of the same mindset that the Vatican has, namely that the ontological, sacramental character of the priest somehow makes it an excusable and understandable action when that priest abuses a child, and that this priest must have been drawn in to the abuse by the victim, who must have been a tempter. Vinnie is steeped in the discredited theology of priesthood, seeing him and his priests as something oh so special and exempt from the normal laws of physics !

Ex-priests as therapists. I am exhausted trying to find a male counsellor who is not an ex priest. My life and my family was severely damaged by the Church. I have tried counselling on several occasions to discover that the counsellor was a priest or ex-priest. It seems that the “confessional model” is the only profession these men can pursue. I’m wondering is this another form of power with an empathic tilt of the head and large does of priestly presence. I’m working my way through a lineup that included Jesuits, Dominicans, Carmelites, Redemptorists and Sacred Hearts.

I remember going to a therapist in Dublin and then meeting him in the boiler house. I continued therapy and then found out that he had taken leave of absence as a priest. He later returned to his order, I guess he processed his Issues in the boiler house therapy centre.

As the Vatican becomes a pariah it will still have an ally in Republican US. Arizona is currently gearing up to conduct executions using the gas used in Auschwitz. This has not been used in the state since the nineties, when a death row inmate took 18 minutes to die, but they now can’t get the drugs used for lethal injection. Now you may say the teaching has changed but it will change back. Killing people and covering up abuse are tradition.

Lots of haters will be out revising stories and misinterpreting narratives without having read the documents in full. Truth will be the casualty and justice for survivors will not be served. Magna’s extremist, violent, ugly verbiage, along with The Pat Says fatuous commentary, serves their cause alone: a deepening of and a greater incitement to hatred of Catholic Priests. Lads, try something more intelligent. All of us are shocked by any abuse of children and vulnerable people. A of us are enraged and have made known our views with all relevant personnel. We are not, as Marge the idiot contends, uncaring or indifferent. From his hiding place, he does zero, nothing beneficial for anyone, whereas many priests actually practice a caring ministry, making worthwhile differences to the many we encounter In our ministry – a grace denied Mr. Dysfunctional.

It is morally okay to hate, especially when the object of hatred is an outrageous Vatican ruling that places both priest-abuser and the abused person as co-responsible for the abuse; make no mistake, this is how the ruling presents it. Marie Collins is correct: nothing has changed.
Parties to adultery mutually consent to that act, but children, and vulnerable adults, offer no such consent to their abuse.
The Vatican is making a lie the canonical optics through which future abuse must be viewed. Your indifference to this, priest, is noted. Had you any moral credibility, you would, like the German clergy who refused to accept the CDF ruling on blessing same-sex unions, protest this gross and grotesque injustice openly and courageously; but you won’t, because you’re a moral coward, like the vast majority of your spineless, freeloading colleagues.
Frankly, it is amusing to hear somene like you refer to me as posting from a hiding place.
Dysfunctional? By God! You, and your useless kind, could talk authoratively , for hours on end, about dysfunctionality.

ANYONE, young or old, who continues to donate money to the institutional Roman Catholic Church (‘corrupt, and riddled with corruption’) is morally complicit it in its vile crimes.

This pope, and his priests, are guilty of treating the least of Christ’s followers, children and the child-like, as exploitable and dispensable chattel.

When you see a romanist priest, you see someone who hates children so much that he hates Christ himself.

So all you can think of at such a dangerous time for the safety of little children at the hands of Vatican canonists is… how much you got from parishioners for your 40th ordination to a priesthood Christ did not institute and which has become notorious for producing sexual abusers and their protectors, and for other criminality? 😱 This, and how wonderful you believe your parishioners perceive you to be. (At their expense, of course, since you don’t actually work for a living, but sponge and mooch off them.)

The notion of law being about facilitating communal living and right relationship, which is of course law’s proper function, will always have to bow to the ego of some priests and bishops who just want to protect their own.
