PRIESTS REFUSED TO PRAY WITH COUPLE OVER THE LOSS OF THEIR TEN-YEAR-OLD CAT + I SWEAR AFFIDAVIT IN THE ABBOT PURCELL CASE.

Three Down and Connor parish priests refused to pray with couple over the loss of their ten year old pet cat.

Yesterday I prayed over the telephone with the couple as they sat at their kitchen table with the ashes of Sooty.

And yet we hear peoole like pope Francis and bishops droning on about nature and the enviornment being intimately connected with God?

As Christians and Catholics we believe that God is the creator of EVERYTHING.

And that means God created Sooty.

We know from Jesus’ direct teaching that not one bird falls out of the sky without God KNOWING and CARING.

And that means that God knew about and cared about the death of Sooty.

Isn’t it very sad that God’s supposed disciples dont care about these things and dont care either about the grief that comes upon humans with the loss of a beloved pet?

I am a dog man and in recent years I list my Doberman, Nero and my Jack Russells, Sheba and Scrapper.

Their loss caused me great sorrow and grief.

Personally, I believe every living creature has a “soul” – a spark of the Divine – and as such all those creatures will be in Paradise.

I have absolutely no problem with conducting a Christian service at the death of an animal with particular reference to the comforting of their human stewards.

If God cares over a sparrow falling out of the sky, why should I, as a priest, not care, and seek to comfort human beings at the loss of their loving and loyal pets.

ABBOT PURCELL CASE

Readers may have thought that the Abbot Purcell case had gone away?

Nothing could be further from the truth.

It has been making its way through THE VERY SLOW PROCESSES IN ROME.

Yesterday I swore a 10-page affidavit in the case and it’s already gone to Rome.

I will keep readers updated. But don’t expect swift news.

Copies of the affidavit were sent to the Irish bishops in time for their June meeting at Maynooth beginning tomorrow, June 14 th 2021.

Now just sit back and wait for all the good priests to line up and openly condemn what those three Romanists refused to do.
Maybe the three of them thought that there wasn’t enough money to be made by such a blessing.

I agree with your view on this, Pat.
The Romanists are blessing weapons these days. I recently came across one such blessing on Facebook; it took place in America. (Where else?)
Sure didn’t one Romanist, in 1945, bless a B52 bomber that was going to drop an atomic explosive on Japan?
I just love it when Romanists are consistent.
It’s a major wonder that those three Romanists who refused to bless the couple and their cat passed up the opportunity to make money out of those poor critturs
I mean its what parasites, spongers, scroungers, and moochers do especially well, isn’t it? Prey on the vulnerable? 🤔

Totally different. Defending yourself with violence may be justified but should be with regret, not co-opted for God. But then God couldn’t possibly be displeased with you, could she, ‘Father’?

Indeed. Side with the rich and powerful they invariably did. It’s why the Romanists were considered fascists by republicans during the Spanish Civil War and dispatched off this mortal coil accordingly.
The Romanists would even have jeered at Jesus the Cross, his display there a sign not of power, but of weakness.
Saint Oliver Cromwell was correct : Romanism historically was more a political force than anything else.

Yes, it’s the reason so many Catholics have given up on not just the Church, but on Christ himself, since historically the Romanists have co-opted God’s will as their own and made appear morally good the darkest practices.
The romanist institution has made God’s will synonymous with its own corrupt will. The only silver lining here is that people now see that mammon was always the Romanist’s chief concern: I don’t think they’ve ever belated so much publicly about their depleted coffers than they have since the Pandemic started. 😀

10.45: Marge, you’d agree with Pat on anything that seeks to undermine, humiliate and condemn Catholic Priests. The judgments of the clerics by Pat is childish. Your response is not surprising. It’s a repeat of your hate speech. Priests receive all kinds of requests by phone – many being nuisance calls and seem at times to be testing a respinse of some kind…That a couple would chase after clergy for a blessing for their pet cat is not a priority and I’m certain the priests had legitimate reasons for not doing so. We are in a pandemic still and are required to behave responsibly in visiting homes of the sick and the elderly. Only those working in parish ministry appreciate the HSE and Diocesan protocols and guidelines. Stop always finding superfluous reasons for slamming priests..

I agree Pat. The theologian Andrew Linzey has a liturgy for animal burials. I myself have celebrated the life of sheep, dogs chickens and other birds and even found a Christian liturgy for a tree I had to cut down-(Cedars of Lebanon maybe). Unfortunately, Christians have over the years seen the natural world as completely different from the human world and as a commodity. Redemption and salvation has been seen as only applying to human animals- an anthropocentric perspective inspired by Genesis 1. Here in New Zealand now it is common to be buried and married by secular ministers. In Maori culture, blessings are said on whales and other beings that have been washed up, on trees before being cut down, before meetings etc. Unfortunately, the Christian response to events in the world has become more and more seen as antiquated, legalistic, and not a response of compassion. I should have a book out soon ‘Beware of the Human’ on the use of 1080 poison in NZ to kill ‘pests’ and a plea for a more compassionate conservation. I use Albert Sweitzer’s reverence for life as a moral base. Unfortunately, conventional Christianity doesn’t have anything to say on such issues. See also theologian Stephen Webb ‘On God and Dogs’ “..from a theological perspective animals are more like gifts than something owned…obliging us to return their gifts…A kind of covenant exists between the human and dog.’. Personally, I like the version of Paradise ‘Rainbow Bridge’ more than the conventional one that leaves non-human animals out. I’ve seen a grown man who hasn’t attended mass since boyhood cry when Ive read that account of Paradise out at the local dog club when one person there died-Isn’t that spirituality?–‘,……… we give you back your child.

Many RC priests are too selfish to have pet dogs as it would interfere with their trips to the saunas and lay-bys. I always remember that Bishop Oakley when on the staff first time round at Oscott had a sheepdog called Bromwyn and she used to run around the place. A lovely dog and a little bit of normality in an otherwise strange place. Bishop Holland of Salford had two dobermann as attack dogs I think.

I lived in a place some decades ago – a religious community of men, who were as you might expect the usual dysfunctional, angry crowd. There was a dog. It was interesting to watch. These old angry farts were horrible to each other, even though they made a big thing supposedly of community and charity, but individually they were all nice to the dog ! Strange. I guess the dog had a purpose and brought out the better side in them. However, to each other, to their fellow human beings, they were horrible. I often wondered why, and eventually worked out that these men were playing out frustrated self-loathing. They were stuck, they were angry, they had made wrong choices, they blamed everybody, they hated everybody and above all they hated themselves. What a sad place. I’m glad I got out.

Ref to Pat Relihan’s €77k salary. I recall +Pat’s blog discussing Relihan’s departure – a time when he was on the MTAS website as CEO and the Cloyne website as missing in sabbatical.
Yesterday people wrote that the salary was good in general but modest for a CEO. Both are accurate reflections.
But the wise Catholic blog 25 Aug 2015 also recalled that +Pat had correspondence with ++Clifford about Relihan around the time +Crean was appointed. We now need to ask, what was that correspondence about? And did Clifford and Crean offer Relihan 4.28 times his priestly salary to go. Was the €77k Relihan’s few silver pieces and did all of this happen to avoid +Pat exposing something? In essence, was Relihan’s misconduct known all along and is there elements of +Pat’s correspondence that now needs to be sent to the charities regulator to have the suitability of both Crean and Clifford fitness to be patrons of charities reviewed.

The couple sound like hypocrites. When Sooty was alive, they didn’t appreciate the cat enough for a proper baptism. Now that the poor cat has passed away, they all of a sudden care for the creature.
Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
It was a Christian thing to acknowledge their sense of loss. The couple however could have blessed their departed cat themselves. For some reason they wanted to plot a course of drama.
I’ve heard of farmers blessing their livestock before they departed to the mart. Many Christians do acknowledge the journey of animals. Many just happen to be able to do so humbly without being so dramatic about it.

Have a huge problem with rcc use of ‘tradition’. What sort of tradition are they talking about? Is it oral or written or something? Are they playing with words that they don’t have evidence for it.?
As we know that tradition would die out as times goes on say 2 thousand years. For instance, music or sports tradition change or die as that’s the reality.
Also rcc said tradition is on par with the Bible which is something that I don’t get it. I would regard the bible as supreme than the tradition.

They mean the Holy Spirit, DG, continuing to instruct them.

Which is downright silly when this conflicts with the Bible. For example, Jesus clearly taught love of enemy, but the Romanists, for centuries, taught in favour of the death penalty. A clear disagreement here, which the Romanists implicitly admitted, and put right, back in January 2018, when Pope Francis revoked that teaching.

But he never admitted that centuries of ‘sacred’ magisteria had got it WRONG!

No humility, see? Unlike… me. 😀

No, DG, I’m not saying that, but THEY would. It is how they have managed, for centuries, to cow the majority of the Faithful into compliance with the teaching of successive magisteria.

They call these magisteria ‘sacred’, because they claim that, like the Bible, their teaching is divinely inspired. Sometimes this is true, but other times it clearly is not. Proving that their teaching, just like some in the Bible, can be inspired by men rather than God. However, they would prefer it if no one dwelt on this reality, since it might undermine trust and confidence in magisterial leadership. For which reason, they rarely apologise to the Faithful for feeding them error, sometimes grave and fundamental error, like the moral approval of the death penalty.

They behaved this way, too, when they revoked the theological nonsense about Limbo, and the souls of unbaptised children and adults. This teaching, which they wrongly claim was only ever presented as a possibility, must have caused generations of parents (countless pairs of them), untold worry, stress, and misery about the condition of their unbaptised infants in the afterlife and about the supposed fact they would never, ever, be reunited with them. I know that it affected in this way my mother in particular.

There was never any acknowledgement by the Romanists that they had, for generations, been teaching utter and irredeemable bullshit, and that this had brought such unspeakable suffering to such large numbers of people.

Should we be surprised at this callous indifference by these preposterously named ‘Christmen’? Well, when you accept that their rape and molestation of innocent children, and the concealment of these vile and cowardly crimes, would have continued without exposure of these to the world by global media (including such blogs as this), the answer can only be ‘no’.

Good explanation on 1st and 2nd para. Claiming to be sacred but they need to show that proof is in the pudding. Also problem with Catholic Church was that it revolves around a cult of personality aka Pope instead of looking at jesus.
I don’t think jesus intended that one. No mention of Popes in the bible, just mainly elders so on. A community rather than an organisation in first 100 years after jesus birth. No hierarchical structure that time cos no mention of it in the bible.
Now in your 3rd para, I came across that word ‘limbo’. I never heard that word cos barely primitive or near zero Catholic education. It was a nun who had worked in deaf school as she’s was a very good nun now retired. She spoke to me about the limbo as she got upset over this. I was interested to hear this cos it was news to me cos she was quite distressed at times as she said she didn’t believe church teaching on the limbo. It was an education to me re 1st Catholic teaching that I never heard of in the first place. It made me wonder and think if rcc teachung is bit convulted at times or designed to confuse us.
It also happened to one of my relatives and also my mother as well re unbaptised infants due to miscarriages. She never spoke about it until just prior to her death.
Then many years later I was told that I had a baby brother who died before me and buried without a name in unmarked family grave plot. I now believe its linked to the issue of limbo cos of unmarked family grave plot (that I didn’t know for years until last parent passed away on that day) .
It was a tale of untold suffering experienced by one of my late relatives and also my mother as well. Cos it was brought up to me by a nun on the issue of limbo. She simply said church teaching on limbo was wrong as that’s her view.
In last para, re callous indifference. Yes I have seen it re some priests expecially preacher one at novenas (sacred heart missionaries) show a callous indifference towards one or two women prior to receiving holy communion. It was shocking to my eyes to see this happening.
After that I lost respect for that preacher. It sort of made me to see rcc’s misogynistic attitudes towards women.
After all, rcc made a lot of money from women than men in church collections, donations, wills re donations so forth.

3. Accused him of being an alcoholic, as an insult and with no mercy.

5. Dysfunctional.
6. A danger to children.
I think you will see that most of these things are better said about RC priests themselves and thus what Magna is, is a sort of whipping boy on whom these dysfunctional clerics project their own most disliked features.
Magna himself has said that the MC persona is fictional but its author was a seminarian once and left of his own accord. The fact that a man can go into the church and then realise that it is rotten to the core is a fact which seems to have escaped them. I have to say I don’t know about afterlife for animals. Every living thing has an animating principle in them that we call the soul. Whether or not the soul is rational would have traditionally been the difference between humans and other creatures. Best to leave all of that with God and not worry about the speculative theology. The point here is that two Christians were going through a loss and were deprived of the support of their pastors. I’m sure a lot of laughing and mocking has gone on between the clerics in question about this. Would it have hurt to pray with them for their healing and consolation and then have a cup of tea and a chat? A half hour spent like this would have gone a long way. I do wonder why some of these priests are still in ministry, we’d do better in the church without such indifference.

Back then I attended a wedding in wexford where fr fortune was there. If my memory serves me correct, I noticed no kids or children at the wedding. I asked a friend (he’s a local) there. He told me a story about Fr Sean fortune then I understood why no kids at wedding.

Danger to children implies that person is an abuser or serial child abuser. I can’t see MC is one of them. But bishops are a danger to kids because of their methods of moving kids around from parish to parish.

When people said that Magna replied that he had spent the weekend with his niece and nephew. Since Magna has repeatedly asked people to post the real name of the individual behind the Magna character, and nobody has yet done so, I don’t believe the blogs readership know who he is not have proof about safeguarding issues with Magna. I certainly don’t know who he is and wouldn’t have any proof. I would tend to believe him over people throwing abuse at him.
It is horrible not to see your relatives because of being deaf. Being deaf isn’t a safeguarding concern and I don’t think alcoholism need automatically be one either. Taking into account the person’s pattern of drinking, insight into their condition and whether they were likely to influence the children or get drunk in front of them. I think there is much worse parenting routinely going on.
Certainly I wouldn’t see a reason why the person behind the Magna character should not see his nephew and niece, on the basis of his behaviour here. The only thing his detractors actually have against him are that he hates RC priests with a passion and is an alcoholic, which I’m sure they would be the first to say is a human weakness and should be treated with mercy, if we were talking about a priest. In fact they actually hate him, and are really quite fixated on that hate, as witnessed by the comment at 6:23. They say they know the truth but are unable to name him!

DG, there is no prohibition on me whatever from being around any of my nephews and nieces, whom I adore; these are lies being told, I suspect, by romanist priests, so-called ‘Christmen’.
The one thing they got right about me was that I do have an alcohol problem: alcohol – abuse disorder, to give its clinical definition. However, I have not taken a drink since 10 January this year, following a health scare, and I sincerely hope that this remarkable turn of events continues.
The nature of my addiction was only to relatively small amounts of alcohol; nevertheless I WAS addicted to the amount I drank. The degree of the addiction can be learned from the fact that I once, some years ago and with the help of a sibling and a friend, effectively locked myself in my home for a period of six weeks to ensure I couldn’t get to an off-licence and to wean myself off alcohol. My sibling brought me food once a week. Sadly, the confinement didn’t work: upon release, I knew, literally within minutes, that I was going to drink that night, and I did. I could have wept.
Nor was I ‘kicked out’ of seminary, as these liars claim: I left of my own accord.

And thanks for being frank about your drinking – frankness and honesty I think are the antidotes to the poisonous clergy screaming at you. Anyone would think they look back on their wasted lives serving a mediaeval state, and wish they had left in seminary. 😁

Indeed re your comment which I agree with you such as this :
Taking into account the person’s pattern of drinking, insight into their condition and whether they were likely to influence the children or get drunk in front of them.
Nearly everyone including MC have a human weakness. yes it should be treated with mercy and kindness.
Some priests hate mc just because MC speaks the truth to power, nothing but the whole truth. His insight into rcc at times has helped me into rcc thinking. It was interesting but I don’t condone him re his previous drink problem.
If you have a drink problem, it simply means that you have a problem inside that needed to be sorted out. I had it before before i found out the connection then I stopped it. It could be done but it’s difficult due to many reasons such as addiction issues, killed someone on the road when driving that led to drink (heard it from an alcoholic) or guilt issues as I could go on etc etc. People try to drink more to erase their inner traumas in their minds. That’s why I don’t condone people who drink. They have their own reasons such as 👆.

Thsbks for your reply which I didn’t expect it. Yes its fine re your explanation re nieces and nephew as I accept that.

Re drink addiction, would you please see at my post at 7.41pm.

I had one confirmed by a pysch. It was necessary to see a pysch re abused case like myself. I had to know as what’s bothering me a lot that led to drink. It was abuse, very common driver cos I was trying to erase the inner traumas of mine stemming from deaf schools in Dublin. It happened to many deaf men as well, who were abused in one way or another.

I rem that pysch said to me that the amount of whiskies I drank were way too high. I was just stunned to hear this cos I didn’t think that I was alcoholic. It was a phrase, a terminology coined by pyschs re people who were abused as they go various stages or phases before becoming a full blown trauma experience. Had a full blown one that I didn’t know it in the first place. I didn’t understand as what’s happening or coming to me that time.

Education was the key to understanding this. Rcc didn’t give a fig about us. Then towards healing came then Purcell name came up as a chairman sickened me which I didn’t know at first until I saw this blog on him cos I have links to Mt Melleray.

So you were in the seminary and you left it at your own accord. That’s fine but it might clears up for others on this blog re their speculations.

My question to you as you don’t have to answer it or not.

What made you leave the seminary??? 🤔

I left seminary, DG, because I began to suffer severe depression, and anxiety, to the detriment of my studies.

Ger Nash (a good man), Fintan Monahan (a good man) and Thomas Deenihan are classmates.

Eamon Martin (a good man) appears to have no interest in seeing that his friends and/or classmates are promoted most likely out of concern for them since he knows only too well what a crown of thorns episcopal ministry is.

Are you having a laugh Good Men.
What has shocked me is your ability to read this blog as all FOUR have featured on it regularly and it is well seen it is Sunday or Bishop Pat would have corrected you but he is too busy with my Snails.

Snails are important animals in the RCC as that is the speed it works at and I am sure you all know that very well.

Eamon Martin must be the laziest Archbishop the Church has in it’s episcopal ranks as someone not even 60 needing an Auxiliary was shocking and more so he says he has 61 parishes.

You should really only get an Auxiliary at 100 Parishes so it is not a shock when the Clergy refer to Micheal as the plus one.

Archbishop Eamon has a national and international role as Primate of All Ireland and President of the Irish Episcopal Conference, in addition to governing Armagh. That is why his predecessors also had auxiliaries.

Plus the archdiocese is very big, geophically, so the auxiliary bishop has traditionally been based in Drogheda to look after the southern half.

This is a beautiful poem “The First Mercy” by Bruce Blunt, which was set to music by Peter Warlock:
Ox and ass at Bethlehem
On a night, ye know of them:
We were only creatures small
Hid by shadows on the wall.
We were swallow, moth and mouse;
The Child was born in our house,
And the bright eyes of us three
Peeped at His Nativity.
Hands of peace upon that place
Hushed our beings for a space
Quiet feet and folded wing,
Nor a sound of anything.
With a moving star we crept
Closer when the Baby slept:
Men who guarded where He lay
Moved to frighten us away.
But the Babe, awakened, laid
Love on things that were afraid,
With so sweet a gesture He
Called us to His company.

Sooty has been the star of the show today! 🐱 Abbot Purr-cell just never got people purring at all. The Abbot might have been purring on that during the Magnifi-cat of Vespers! 🙏

I’m glad you prayed with and comforted the couple who lost their cat beloved cat, Sooty, Bishop Pat. Some people just don’t understand love, loss and the importance of lifting people up when they are hurting from grief; grief is an extremely painful experience, especially grief from the loss a loved-one or pet.
— Here’s a poem called RAINBOW BRIDGE: Pets in Heaven…
“Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….”

Thomas do not get upset about poor Amy.
If Amy stopped entertaining people (males) he would have more time for his Dioceses.
As for Brady he was too busy covering up abusers and should have resigned.
And do not forget Amy has a large team of Admins and support staff.

The star of Ireland will be Archbishop Dermott Farrell when he sorts out Dublin.

8.05: Magna, that’s a very honest admission to make about your alcoholism. You sought help. Now, you should seek help for anger management, your predilection for hate speech, yourcabusive vulgarity towards priests and probably other groups also. Having a drink problem is never an excuse for abusive behaviour towards others, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. Despite your admission of seeking help, you have yet to learn many other important lessons and I say that as one who sought counselling after much loss and grief in my life. One of the many important lessons I learned was to be aware of every person’s story of life, the hidden illnesses or addictions of others, having a compassionate empathy for all who fall, fail and struggle. When you engage in therapy or counselling, you discover much about yourself which isn’t always positive or likeable. The journey of change, being a better human person, care for others and self awareness must follow on from any meaningful counselling. Our bad, destructive behaviour, despite our addictions or personal challenges can never be justified. Truth spoken to oneself is essential for renewal. Self care is a must when faced with demons of any kind. I wish you well. The other wonderful benefit of having had counselling is that I have studied bereavement counselling and find it has enriched my pastoral care for many, many parishioners.

My ‘drink problem’ was never used by me as an excuse for my detestation of the Romanist institution; this has an altogether differnt source: the vile commitment that priests, like you, make to an organisation correctly described as ‘corrupt, and riddled with corruption’.
If there is anger in me, it is because the presence of unadulterated evil in you priests makes me angry, as it does God himself.
Forget about gaslighting me, priest, with ‘anger issues’ ; it did not work on Jesus and, with his help, it will not work on me either.

8.40: An honest lot of commentary. I guess Magna will file with rage…It is appropriate for someone of his uncontrollable tempers and angst to seek professional help. It appears, while he admits to his personal challenges, he has yet to attain a normal level of civility and emotional intelligence. We keep him in prayer and all who suffer from addictions and irrational behaviour.
