The Irish government has introduced new legislation which allows Covid vaccinated people or those with proof of recovery from Covid to eat and drink indoors.
I am very frustrated by the number of stupid people going around spreading conspiracy theories about the Covid vaccine and refusing to be vaccinated.
People believing such nonsense like there being a tracking element in the vaccine that allows the government to know where you are.
Most of us have mobile telephones and these can be accurately tracked by the police etc
I do think that people have the right not to take the vaccine.
But that leaves those people more vulnerable to getting Covid and infecting others.
You have the right not to be vaccinated but you DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to infect me and others with the virus.
All our decisions and actions have consequences.
If you decide not to be vaccinated then the rest of us and the government have the right to keep you out of places where you are a threat to others.

Macron in France is as tough about this as you are. And rightly so. He says that people have the freedom not to have the vaccine, but in doing so they also have to accept the right of the common good to protect itself. So, if you are not vaccinated in France he proposes that you are not able to go to work, are not paid, are not able to travel and take public transport, are not able to go to social venues such as restaurants, cinemas, stadia etc. Unless you have a good medical reason to be exempted. There is a price to be paid for individual freedom of choice, especially where that freedom of choice has impacts on the common good. So, get the vaccine !

People who don’t want to have the vaccine should obviously not be forced and natural selection will take them out of the breeding pool. ‘Mass of Ages’ is a misnomer. There’s no such thing. Liturgy has always been enculturated. The rate of enculturation merely and unnaturally, slowed after Trent.
He has simply abolished the novel concept of a duality of forms: the eucharistic liturgy reformed by Sacrosanctum Concilium is the form of the Roman rite. What else could he say? No big deal.
Only priests who can understand Latin sufficiently well to know what they are saying and to grasp thoroughly rubrics and texts are permitted to use the unreformed books. Again, makes perfect sense.

I cannot see how any argument can be raised to prohibit to any degree the form of Mass which, with only minor changes, had been the source and summit of the Church’s life and existence from the days of Gregory the Great (†604), and in substantially the same form for many years earlier.

On the topic of yesterday, people have a choice to be vaccinated or not. Indoor dining for the vaccinated is a sensible move at this time.
Mike Ryan, of the World Health Organisation (WHO), says it is a failure of world society that the most vulnerable around the world are not being vaccinated. It is an absolute failure of the current day.
Healthy people in rich countries are being prioritised ahead of the most vulnerable in poorer countries. That is absolutely wrong.

Back on topic, followers of Christ should be good at encouraging people to follow the covid guidelines. Society has lost the strong voice of the Church. The Church is to blame for that. Sadly it happens to be having a negative affect on society.
The covid illness is mild after a vaccine. It is like getting a flu vaccine. You could still get the sniffles.
