Yesterday, after 10 days in isolation, I was free to mix again after contracting Covid.
Fortunately, I had received both my Pfizer vaccinations and my illness was “mild” – headache, raised temperature, cough, sore throat and head cold symptoms.
I also developed a Covid related conjunctivitis which Im told happens in 3 % of cases.
I had taken the opportunity to talk with my GP by telephone and he put me on a 7 day course of the antibiotic Doxycycline to protect my chest etc.

I felt quite ill for three days and then gradually became better.
But if this was the “mild” version I would really fear the full-blown version, for the mild was rough in itself.
Its at times like this that we are really reminded how good the UK NHS is – free access to doctors and hospitals and free prescriptions.
I talked to my GP within an hour of requesting the telephone consultation.
THE ANTI VAXERS:
I cannot get my head around the fact that there are many people out there opposed to vaccines, refusing to take them, and velueving in all kinds of conspiracy theiries.

Over 4 million have died from Covid worldwide – over 1 million of those in Europe.
Medical professionals I know tell me very sad stories of people in ICU and on ventilators – even young people.
I think there are always conspiracy theorists on every issue – but we should not be guided by them.
I AM NOT saying that there are not lots of questions to be asked about Covid.
But on the ground we have to trust our doctors and scientists.
COVID PASSPORTS
Of course I am a believer in the individual’s right not to take a medicine.
But I also believe in the community’s right to defend itself from infection and death.
And all our decisions gave consequences.
If YOU decide not to take the vaccine I have the right to say to YOU that I do not want YOU to threaten my health by being in my company.
Therefore, I am in favour of people being asked to prove they are not a threat to others health in planes, pubs, restaurants etc.
If you decide not to be vaccinated, thats one of the consequences.
People say that is Big Brother watching.
Well, as someone who had Covid, I am very glad that Big Brother vaccinated me and kept me from greater illness and potentially, death.

Perhaps the cynics yesterday who are quite happy to kill people will pay attention to your experience. People who have had it talk like you, not them.
Incidentally it’s interesting how when it comes to a pandemic the cathbots just go ‘people die’ about preventable deaths. It rather proves my point that they are not pro-life, they are anti-abortion.

No one, including peoole of all religions and none want to catch covid 19, the mild or seriously fatal virus. Your silliness consigns your comment to garbage: it’s a cheap shot at Catholics. That aside, I am delighted that you, Pat, have recovered a little from the “mild” virus. Having officiated at so many funerals of parishioners who died from covid 19 and witnessed so much grief since March 2020, I believe we each have a right to be protected from the possibility of getting the covid virus. There are many conspiartists who have weird theories about everything and foolishly think that their rights trump the overall rights of the majority who desire and want our world to be free of life threatening viruses. Of course, the longer we discuss this pandemic we realise the absolute inequalities and divisions in our world: the poorest always get left behind and forgotten about. We have major climate change challenges which all countries must be honest about. The politics of the privileged and powerful was evident in the roll out of vaccines: the priority we give and don’t give to the elderly and those on the margins and in socially disadvantaged areas has been highlighted in various discussions. This pandemic is a time for all of us to reassess and reevaluate our priorities, lives, sense of fairness and justice to one another, how we treat the most vulnerable in our communities. Flippant, unintelligent anti Catholic rants do not further serious debate in this issue. Pat, every blessing for a full recovery.

The dead baby, obviously, and the mother who has lifelong psychological damage, the bereaved father, the abortionists who are brutalised, the common good that is weakened by killing the unborn.

In fact I didn’t say anything for or against abortion, however had I realized I was dealing with someone quite so stupid I wouldn’t have expected them to think out the difference i was getting at.
The difference is – when you are pregnant a decision to have an abortion or not doesn’t make anyone else pregnant. Having a vaccine or not will affect whether other people get the disease.
Which just shows how ridiculous the comparison was to start off with.

You are very correct, Pat, about the NHS. I remember my grandmother talking about how, in the days before the NHS, people put off going to the doctor because of the cost.
One of the reasons I am glad Northern Ireland is in the UK is that we have the NHS, unlike the RoI where most people have to pay every time they go to the GP, stay in hospital, get prescriptions and even when they go to A&E.

Tere will now be a charge for
recordings of Funeral Masses and
Wedding Ceremonies from
St Patrick’s Church, Dungannon.
The recordings will be made available
to the immediate family only and will
be forwarded via email.
Funeral Masses and Weddings will
not be recorded unless requested.
Please contact the Parish Office or

prior to the service. At least two-
weeks’ notice must be given for
weddings.
Funeral Mass
£20-00 for single static camera
recording. £50-00 for three camera recording.

A lot of people have been anxious about getting it, which is probably why more anti-depressants are being prescribed. Every day I’m grateful I haven’t had it. Piers Morgan, who has had the dkuble vaccination, said that even the mild version he had was the worst sickness he’d ever felt.
The anti-vaccine people generally annoy me, like the MMMR mothers who refused to get their children vaccinated. Aren’t we all supposed to get done so that there are fewer hosts for the virus? It’s the best thing you can do for others, and why should A&E and ICU have all the distress of treating people who refused to do the right thing. Of course they should be treated, but the worst symptoms are avoidable in the great majority of cases.

Your energy for this destructive approach is misplaced. Jesus didn’t leave sinners or those who failed lying crushed on the ground but enlivened and lifted them up to begin anew. This is the mind and heart we as his “pastors” must have. Let civil law enforce its laws where necessary. We are all different and none of us knows how life may unfold for us. The death of a parent is a particularly difficult time but you, Pat, have zero empathy for priests in any experience of loss, grief, difficulty. You have proved all too often your very nasty nature. May God bless these priests who are being bashed again and again.. May they be blessed with God’s graces as they begin new ministries. I promised last night to pray for John Gates and I did. This was my prayer:
“Lord Jesus, you were present at the death of one of your parents. You loved your mother with a love beyond all telling. Tonight I pray for John who has lost his mother. I ask you lord to comfort him strongly and deeply as you comforted the widow at Nain. Give John a share in the strength and courage you showed on the cross. Send friends to comfort him. Let them hug him and hold his hand on his journey of sorrow. Let him experience the little human comforts that take the sharp edge off the pulsating pain of grief. Lord, help John to convert some of his pain into compassion for others – for the elderly women who live next door to him and the ones he meets in the graveyard and church aisle. Lord, your sorrows saved a whole world. Lord allow John’s sorrows to renew his faith and compassion. Amen.

Haters and trouble makers love to repeat stories and obviously have a weurd psychological psychosis in deriving delight from continually trying to shame others. It’s a sick pasttime. Get help.

2.36: for a grown up man, your queenie bitchiness in your ongoing effeminising of Archbishop Martin is childish, immature and offensive. I’m sure your good mother didn’t teach you this behaviour!! She’d be disgusted. Cop on Pat: You are demeaning yourself. Act your age. Be mature and manly.

Effeminating of Eamon Martin. Are you in the real world? Welcome to the real world. Have you heard him speak? My elderly Father said a few days ago and an Irish News reader about Archbishop Martin. He said no backbone and who can realistically take that man seriously?

Speaking about vaccines, can anyone give me the correct information regarding vaccine certs? Is it possible to gain entry to restaurants, etc. in the RoI with the small vaccine card issued when both vaccines were administered, or have I to have a proper vaccine certificate? Thank you.

The ex Priest Brian Devlin who wrote the book about KOB is a well known trouble maker. He admits there was no sexual assault albeit KOB was inappropriate when he was pissed up, likely drinking too much as he could not come to terms with his sexuality. The compo that he accepted over 3 years ago clearly isn’t enough, thus the book.

Whay’s happening to Rory? Is he finding a source who actually cares about him? The Bishops in Ireland and elsewhere don’t get it. They show fck all care.

That abouts sums it up @5.29pm. The Bishops don’t give a fck about you. Harsh but true. Live with it.

you need a proper vaccine cert issued by the HSE, it comes either in the Post or by email. By email if you registered for the vaccine online or by post if you got it trough your doctor or other drop in site

3.52: Are you out of your trolley, Pat? Your prayer for Fr. Gates was so insincere, condescending and spiritually hypocritical. You’ve spent many hours on this blog before and are doing so again, whereby, you are humiliating this priest. You have absolutely no concern for his well-being. Zero. Stop your pious pretence. Empathy is a foreign concept to you.

Your prayer Buckley reflected Gates when I knew him in Maynooth. He bullied that Nun in the Sacristy senseless in Maynooth. Nothing seems to have changed. He has another Nun afraid of him running about him in his present place frighthened out of her skin. The Bordeaux lot

Pat you have no empathy for a mega bully? But that what your sidekick Mcconnels is, and you like the way he gets under peoples skin? What by telling lies on social media about them, he has no credibility anymore, actually he never did have any and because when people hear his name they think of you, your credibility is little to none these days, I see Mr McConnell was recently found guilty for harassment and bullying and from what I’ve been hearing won’t be his last court appearance as several other people will be taking action against him, let’s see who’s skin he gets under now.

Did you know Mr Buckley that McConnell buried his sister recently, a loving mother that he tortured to hell and back.
I hope you’re still proud of him, he has one friend and that’s you. Not a nice way to live life.

I actually met Francis, his mother over 30 years ago before I met him. At that time I visited the family home in Armagh and the grandparents home in Middletown.
I do not share all his views but I dont turn against people because they are different than ne.
I do like the way he gets under some people’s skin 😉

7.18: Pat, haven’t you said enough about Fr. Gates? Stop always defending your constant judging of other. Who knows, only God, if he is trying to renew his life? Certainly the vindictive, unkind comnentary of you and others is not conducive to this process. I can’t imagine Jesus returning again and again to people who failed many times and consigning them to a dustbin! But, I can imagine Jesus giving people a second, third and fourth chance. It just seems that you will use and abuse the failings of clerics to throw harsh judgment at everyone. I cannot recall a time recently when you spoke kindly of any Catholic Priest or bishop. Isn’t that peculiar – that almost all (in your eyes) are failures, corrupted, deviants, crooked…A strange but a most unjust and dishonest narrative to create.

A member of the Irish Cannibals Society set off on a jamboree organised by his colleagues. On his return, a friend met him hobbling down the street on a crutch. He now had only one leg. “Seamus,” he said, “whatever happened to you, when you were so looking forward to the old Irish Cannibals outing?” “Ah,” Seamus replied, “but no one told me it was a self-catering holiday.”

“Owing to the defendant’s sacred calling, we will only impose a fine. Personally, I think that anything that tended to lower the status and respect of the cloth at the present time is to be deplored, and we are very sorry that this case has come before us.” That was the way the state deferred to the church. Bishop Phonsie would be creaming his pants for a return to those days…. “ https://www.newsletter.co.uk/heritage-and-retro/retro/through-the-archives-priests-ill-luck-as-he-is-prosecuted-for-carrying-gun-3329411
