CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE NAMES AND BACKGROUNDS OF THE LARNE PREACHERS OF HATE?

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=178658420971023&id=105075931662606

It would be nice to know WHO and WHAT we are dealing with.

MY POSTERS AGAINST HATE PREACHING:

AND ON THE RC SIDE:

The archbishop of Liverpool wearing a 50 long purple train.

Mc Mahon

PAT SAYS;

I have no problem with people making speeches or preaching on the streets. That is freedom of speech.

But I have a problem with people inviting hatred against individuals and groups.

These Larne preachers are always condemning gay people.

I think that gay people, and all people, should be free to walk in public without their secual ori.entation etc being condemned by loudspeakers.

I believe that such speech should come under hate speech legislation.

I also think that people should keep their religion for their home and their place of worship.

Yesterday, another of these preacher types told me that he had banned his daughter’s same sex partner from the family home.

If God is love, how can a parent turn his back on his daughter and family.

This is hypocrisy.

As someone said on the blog the other day – FUNDAMENTALISM without the FUN.

In society we neex to be SECULAR and PLURAL and shove the foaming at the mouth taliban types back into their church buildings.

‘Yesterday, another of these preacher types told me that he had banned his daughter’s same sex partner from the family home.’
I used to work with a woman who used to say she would die if her daughter was a lesbian.
Well of course you know what happened next, and the other daughter also stopped talking to her. I had to leave the room whenever she mentioned them to laugh.

I dont know what your point is with his Grace of liverpool pool: he is a former engineer and an extremely nice man. Look at fanny mullaney: bitchy old queen, hates tradition, hates old vestments, soutaines, and only wears polyester zipie albs. He hates dressing as a priest. He’d prefer to be a civil lawyer, but didn’t have the money or brains to pursue that.

Sorry, Pat, but I admire and envy the courage of these street preachers. What they are saying is entirely, and absolutely, scriptural. Nowhere, in either the Old or New Testaments, are homosexual acts approved. This is not so for heterosexual acts, unless they constitute fornication.

Like

9.06
Grow up? How? By denying the fact that every scriptural reference to homosexual acts (3 in the OT and three in the NT) condemns them?
Listen, you can accept what Scripture says about these acts, or you can ignore it; but you cannot deny that it has something to say here.
If you are truly a follower of Christ, then you must take seriously his word in Scripture.

There are different interpretations of those scripture passages. Read JJ Mc Neil – The Church and the Homosexual.

Pat, I agree with McNeil that Scripture does not, anywhere in its ocean of words, morally condemn same-sex love; nevertheless, he is wrong to infer from this that it therefore approves same-sex intercourse as a morally legitimate expression of this love. It does not. On the contrary, it expressly condemns these acts.
Paul the Apostle excoriates these acts IN THEMSELVES. Which means that he regarded them as always wrong, regardless of the context in which they take place, including a loving, monogamous, stable gay union.
Personally, I believe that such unions can be the ground in which holiness (yes, holiness) can grow and thrive in the lives of gay couples, but their intention must be to abstain, as best they can, from sexually expressing their love for each other.

Magna @ 10:07 – and who is to say that Jesus was right in his interpretation of scripture and the OT ? Have you not got past the idiocy of ascribing to this historical man Jesus all the silly divine stuff that Christians believe, without evidence. Yes, he was somebody special and if his words are to be taken as his and accurate, then some of what he says makes absolute sense. But, don’t you realise the construction and artifice that has gone in to the NT accounts, evidently with a purpose in mind to make Jesus seem divine or whatever. Do we really believe this literal interpretation and nonsense anymore ? I don’t. I just wish people would apply logic, reason, fact, physics and a little common sense to what they think they believe.

Like

Thank you @ 11.09. What you comment is sensible, logical and to my mind, absolutely correct. This Jesus character, whoever he was, seems to have left a great impression of goodness on many who then, for a variety of reasons and perhaps with good intent, elevated his status into a God.
The psychological and emotional processes subsequently supporting such a belief have been well rehersed many times now on this blog. There is ample evidence that religious beliefs are man made and without foundation in reality. But many, particularly clerics, cling to their drowning straws of blind faith and hope that it all comes good in the end.

No Christian believes in the divinity of Jesus without good reason; at least, those who have a personal relationship with him and not with the clergy. Unfortunately, the existence of an intermediary agency, priesthood, has deprived so very many of this relationship and made them dependent on the very men who exploited them and their children and who, actually, were, and still are, themselves in a state of infantilised dependency on the very people they exploit.

The incarnate Jesus did not expect people to take him at his word, even though the Gospel records that listeners marvelled at the authority of his words (a quality acknowledged, too, by some atheists today, including at least one who posts here regularly). So Jesus acted upon his words: he worked wonders, miracles, to show that his words had power beyond those spoken by any other. But it wasn’t enough for some, anymore than it would be today; hence the journey to Calvary.

There are three types of personal reaction to the Gospel: belief/doubt, unbelief, and scoffing. The scoffers would never believe in Jesus’ divinity, even if he descended from Heaven in Elijah’s chariot, gilded with etherally luminescent gold, and did a double backflip while drawing his iriedescent horses to a halt. They would simply rationalise the whole scene away, because God does not exist, right?

To say that Paul is citing the Roman attitude (and all letters were read by non-addressees en route) is not to actually say he “approves”. There is vast ground not spoken. Paul’s writings are about the ascended Jesus, which is where the meaning of prophets about widows and orphans, lies.

As BP 7:49 has mentioned, the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus mentioned Jesus circa 90 AD.

It’s is perfectly normal, and to be expected, that someone who doesn’t accept the afterlife will also not accept Jesus Christ.

Virtually no historian today doubts the existence of the historical Jesus. So to continue debating whether Jesus was a real person is a waste of time; in fact, it is time to move on from that ridiculous and discredited canard.

Jesus happened, really. The SENSIBLE question is whether he was divine. This is something each of us must answer for himself/herself. In my opinion, yes, Jesus was divine.

Magna @ 9:06 – these are not the words of Jesus, they are words of some wandering Jews with their sheep and goats in the desert, who think that they are inspired by or spoken by God, but in reality are the words they think he spoke or inspired, and so very flimsy and with uncertain foundation. Even the Gospels fall in to this category. Everything has to be sifted and interpreted. And the best we can do now is to realise that the kinds of attitudes that these so called God / Christ inspired words reveal is a woeful ignorance of the human condition, and how people are these days. Otherwise, you would still be sacrificing goats and sheep on an altar, or cutting off your hand or pulling out your eye, or marrying / raping children because you can, or walking across the Channel thinking it was the Red Sea and would part for you. As has already been said, get real, and grow up – both scripturally and theologically.

Well said @ 10:07. Christian clerics cling to scripture as if it was personally written by the Sky Fairy and handed down with great ceremony to the chosen few, the clerics.
The RCC and other biblical students, like Magna seem both dazzled by its ‘brilliance’, but blinded as to its lack of historical authenticity and therefore its verrrry questionable irrelevance.
I took this up yesterday with Magna, found his response poor, replied to say so, and will check now for any further reply.

Try to be accurate : I referred (not at 9.06, by the way) to BOTH the Old and New Testaments, not only to the former.
And before you write off the Old Testament entirely as the domain of wandering, deluded, sheep-and-goat herders, remember that Christ himself did acknowledge it had divine authority, since he looks to it at times in the Gospel. Don’t throw out this baby with the bathwater.
Incidentally, telling me to ‘get real, and grow up – scripturally and theologically’ might impress you, but it is not a counter-argument.

I am confused, Bp Pat. On the one hand, you (rightly) condemn these foul street preachers, yet you describe Patricia McKeever as “brave.”
In her July 2021 newsletter (page 15), she quotes St Peter Damian on homosexuality as “(it) is never to be compared with any other vice because it surpasses the enormity of all vices. It defiles everything, stains everything, pollutes everything. And as for itself, it permits nothing pure, nothing clean, nothing other than filth.”
In her latest September 2021 newsletter (page 9), she quotes St Bernardine of Siena “no sin has greater power over the soul than the one of cursed sodomy, which was always detested by all those who lived according to God’s law… Such passion for untenable practices borders on madness. This vice disturbs the intellect, unbalances an elevated and generous state of soul, drags lofty thoughts down to base ones, makes men pusillanimous [timid] and irascible [easily angered], obstinate and hardened, servilely soft and incapable of anything. Furthermore, the will, agitated by the insatiable drive for pleasure, no longer follows reason but rather the tumult of the passions… One who lives practicing the vice of sodomy will suffer more pain in Hell than anyone else, because this is the worst sin that exists.”

+ Pat, in law that might well be the case, but speech and attitudes that demean and harm people of difference are always wrong, and should be challenged, whether it comes from Christian, Muslim, Jewish, any religion or none, or just out of plain ignorance and hatred. Let me tell you, if I was to say similar things about a Christian or a Muslim, they would be screaming blue murder, and the latter would probably want to throw me from a high building or chop off my head. These people have no right to denigrate and sow hatred at those that they do not agree with or understand, or just don’t like. I am always suspect of those who are most vociferous in their hate speech and attitudes. What are they covering up, hiding, denying, transferring ? Usually, it has something to do with themselves. I reckon those who are the most vociferous are gay themselves and just denying it. Anybody seen any of those characters in the photos down the cruising grounds, in the saunas and gay bars ? I agree with your comment, except that the officers aren’t RUC, but PSNI. (Name-change about 20 years ago.)
Yes, I, too, heard no hate-speech (whatever that is) there; just scriptural references.
‘Hate-speech’ is a deeply illiberal, trendy, compound word whose meaning and usage is entirely arbitrary and seem intended to silence ANY point of view which offends the sensibilities of an individual, group, or demographic. It’s a way of using language to curb language: this is the kind of abuse (and it IS abuse) one might find in a totalitarian state.
Fine; if you want to protest what these preachers are proclaiming, then do so; but I draw a very firm line against trying to shut them up.
I hope the street preachers lodge a complaint with the Police Ombudsman: that officer who confiscated the microphone overstepped a mark, because as far as I could tell, no law had been broken.

Like

Name change same organisation. They are expressing their firmly held religious beliefs which they are quite entitled to. Pat probably rang the police to complain.

I read the situation as being the preachers winding up the police. Right at the beginning of the video the officer asked them to stop preaching while they spoke to them. I thought the officer was unprepared to deal with the preachers because every interaction between street preachers and police has gone this way.
The preachers should have shut up while talking to the police from common courtesy.
The police officer should not have confiscated the microphone, and should have withdrawn from the escalating situation.
Basically the street preachers wound up the officer to make him do something wrong and he wasn’t equipped to deal with them escalating the situation.
My main thought would be if you have amplification like that your only real goal is to shout everyone else down and if you are recording it you are looking for publicity and confrontations.

Man and woman coming together is part of the Natural Reproductive Order. As part of the Natural Reproductive Order, the LGBT community are most likely born from man and woman coming together.
In some peoples eagerness in today’s world for what they see as equality, they often overlook living in unity. Respect of differences should work two ways.
If people can’t see past the Natural Reproductive Order, they need to be respectful of differences. As the LGBT community come from the Natural Reproductive Order, there should be respect of that too and allow for respectful differences in respect of unity.
It should be acceptable that teaching is from the viewpoint of the Natural Reproductive Order but that differences are also respected.
(An aside point; when people are attracted to the same sex, they cannot naturally conceive a child between them. Instead of seeking external conception, they should embrace adoption in my humble opinion.)
Anecdotal evidence is that the clergy has an influx from the LGBT community. Have the LGBT community within the Church something to fear from a Church that would be more inclusive of LGBT parishioners?
The Church can define marriage as being between a man and woman in respect of the Natural Reproductive Order. There should however be a blessing of same sex unions.
Society needs to be careful that there is no pressure on the youth when it comes to gender and sexual identity.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10718875/

The single-minded focus on abuse by priests lets the far more prevalent abuse elsewhere go unreported and undetected, and means, for example, that people have no idea at all that children are in lions’ dens when they go into children’s homes and hospitals.

FYI I’m a safeguarding director in a large hospital lol.
However you are trying to divert again.
Nice try, but you’ve failed.
Hint: when your church and individuals like you begin to show any hint you’ve understood the impact of the church’s torture people like me will shut up. Until then we’ll carry on because you’re still in denial.

The problems of society will impact on the Church. The clergy have come from society.
With the Church’s obsession with minimising scandal, it is always advisable to report any safeguarding concerns directly to the police.

Like

He doesn’t get it deaf guy and thinks that he can pretend to care about safeguarding as a diversion from clerical abuse.
It’s exactly the same person who keeps going on about social workers and (as above) MMM.
I really hope he’s a priest, because at the rate he and his ilk are going, they’ll be tagged and I would love to hear him moan.

Like

6:40 pm – believe your statement “The clergy have come from society” is reasonably wrong, if you excuse my saying so.
Most clergy are part of kind of “club” and to get in – and keep in – you have to show full allegiance to something other than Christ or the Gospels.
The writing is on the wall, I’m afraid.

Anon at 5.12pm.

Had to butt in there on cos of what you have said up👆 there.

Dont you get it re damn lies on statistics.

Most of abuses went unreported or went under the radar. In my case, it wasnt reported to the gardai or the authorities until I made a complaint. There is a lot of under reported cases out there as we speak.

Lot of cases went to church straight away and settled from there. These cases weren’t reported at all to the state or police. They rcc kept it under wraps. Omerta is their code. There was one ex priest named Patrick Wall who spoke out. So we know from him, there were a lot of cases not being reported to the police or authorities.

Ergo statistics are useless in that respect. There was a famous quote I’m sure that you may heard of – ‘Lies, damned lies, and statistics’.

More importantly the first thing that abused or parents of the abused go straight to the police or secular authorities. So that it got reported and no longer under the radar. So authorities know what’s happening in rcc which was the case in USA.

By the way, are you a supporter of rcc🤔🤔🤔.

I don’t understand who it would benefit or why you need to have the names and backgrounds of these guys. If they were prisoners and they have served their time, that is their business and while I find their message distasteful, I find the attempt to shut it down,by labelling it as hate speech, equally repellent.
They are not advocating the burning of homosexuals at the stake or the euthanising of persons with a disability; speech which could be called hate speech.
As someone mentioned earlier – invoking the crime of hate speech has become a way of shutting down ideas that we don’t like. I don’t think these men and women are guilty of hate speech – they are just sadly deluded.
Of course, they would think my idea that sex between loving same sex couples can be a thing that reflects the love of God for creation equally deluded. C’est La vie.
Best just let them spout their nonsense – either that or buy a microphone and speakers and start preaching your own version of Christianity at they same time. I imagine that no matter how inclusive you make it sound, the vast majority of people will just pass you by as they do these guys.

Oh that’s OK then – how about this for an idea – just one child, one child sexually abused by a Roman Catholic priest, is one to many, and that one child and it’s cover up (there’s always cover up) is enough to bring the church to it’s knees.
Statistics are meaningless against this understanding which if your a RC priest your incapable of grasping.
Stalin said: One murder is a tragedy, a million is a statistic.’
You don’t understand the tragedy of one case of child abuse – it’s easier and consoling for you to compare statistics.

You would have to be a real psychopath to have so little sensitivity as a Catholic as to fail to get it at this point, and attempt to point score over a retired social worker.
Forget the guys in the post at the top – we’ve got the real monster at 5:12, quite possibly of a Brendan Smyth or Oliver O’Grady level of psychopathy.

Pat you will be aware that cathbots/clerics continue not to understand the significance and impact of the church’s abuse.
They continue to minimize it and deflect attention.
If they think it’s funny, they really are even worse than I thought. Whatever they are thinking, this remains an abusive response to the church’s actions and I know that you don’t want victims to be retraumatised here.
I know that you are a responsible person and as somebody who does understand the impact, just as you agree not to publish anti-vaccine comments I would ask you not to publish comments from RCs which attempt to deflect attention elsewhere from themselves, such as the one above.

Like

6:24pm Are you going to determine what is deflection, for debate and what is censored? No religious denomination operates in a vacuum. Did you think cover up occurred without secular assistance? How do you think cover up occurs in secular agencies or among secular professionals? Do you think church and state agencies might still be in collusion covering up scandals? If you believe victims or their relatives never reported to Policing Authorities in the past you are mistaken. By the way, no one mentioned anything was funny other than a one line post accusing another poster of same which was blatantly not the case- which leads me to believe an agenda maker is on the job. Before you get up on your high horse I’m not a priest or cathbot. Just sayin, like! 😎

What strikes me in the comments today is the sheer anger and abusiveness of them.
I wonder what could be going through these people’s minds!
I have been rewatching Morgan Spurlock’s Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden. Everywhere he goes, Moslems tell him they would like to get hold of Bin Laden to put an end to the problems he was causing for all Moslems.
Compare and contrast.

Still nobody has named Magna Carta and thus can’t substantiate the lies they tell that he was kicked out of seminary, I see.

I should be flattered but strangely I’m not – and your point is? What atheists abuse children – who knew?
Roman Catholic clergy abuse children on an industrial scale – as a profession is a by word for paedophilia – its a haven for homosexuality, hypocrisy and industrial strength child abuse – one case should have been enough not tens of thousands – at least an atheist doesn’t believe in God whereas a priest claims to be his representative on earth. Go figure,
.

Like

But IICSA say children are far more at risk in non-religious institutions and the vast majority of perpetrators are non-religious. Why do these facts enrage you? Should IICSA suppress them?

Like

Except that’s not the point you’re making.
You genuinely think this is funny, don’t you.

Like

Take it up with IICSA. Don’t shoot the messenger. None of this is funny, I don’t know anyone who thinks it is. People should be proportionatly furious about abuse everywhere and demand its eradication everywhere, and not allow abuse in non-churchbsettings be ignored or denied and thus go on, hidden in plain sight, unreported and with no public outrage to get it fixed.

9.20. I just find them pathetically anaemic, out of touch with the reality of human life, uninspiring, and parasitically inclined.
I take little to do with them or their affairs. My family have strict orders to have no clerical involvement after my final curtain call.

Gosh it makes me sick re cappa Magna in photo in Liverpool . I couldn’t stand it when I saw it first time re mother Burke was in Ireland. cos it screams for pure attention and sheer colours.
I remember asking myself why are they dressed up like that in this day and age. NO NEED for that cos jesus never wore it on himself. What had brought it on re cappa Magna? It’s irrelevant in this day and age. Does that indicates that rcc out of touch with us? Rcc as they in medival age as ourselves in modern age .
Growing chasm between them (rcc) and us indeed😉
