THE GOOD TIMES.

Presently, my dear friends Wim and Sharon are celebrating the 25 anniversary of their wedding. I celebrated their marriage at the Temple of the Winds in Mount Stewart, Newtownards in September in 1996.

Wedding Day

Win and Sharon were in Ireland for the summer flying people to various parts of Europe for their holidays.

Captain Wim and Sharon, senior flight attendant.

Weve remained friends all these years and they have visited me and and I have visited them on Lake Simco outside Toronto.

Hilton Hotel Tempkepatrick, a couple of years ago.

In fact I will be going to see them there in the coming weeks to celebrate their anniversary.

MY FLIGHT TO REUS IN THE COCKPIT.

1996 was before 9/11 and I had confessed to Wim at the top table on the wedding day that I had a fear of turbulence. He promised to sort that out.

A week later I joined him at Belfast International Airport at 8 am one morning to join him in the cockpit on a return flight to Reus in Spain.

Apart from take off and landing I spent time in the co-pilot seat and marvelled at the equipment and safety features of the Airbus.

On turbulence I was told:

An airplane’s wings can bent 12 feet in either direction so when you see it moving a few inches just think of a bird’s wing flapping.

After the flight and the experience on the cockpit and the new knowledge, I lost all my fear of turbulence.

The whole experience was exhilarating.

THE BAD TIMES:

This past week the two victims of abuse by Fr J J Murray of Down and Connor got closure as they saw a jury find him GUILTY.

They had waited a painful 40 years for this moment of closure and had been to hell and back.

Murray will be sentenced later this month.

YESTERDAY’S SUNDAY WORLD

CARDINAL KEITH O BRIEN:

One of Keith O’Brien’s priest victims has said the Vatican is SINNING in keeping the church report of him SECRET.

SCOTLAND MAIL ON SUNDAY

Surely Brian Devlin, as a former cleric, should know the the ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH has been burying its secrets for the last 1700 years.

Of course the Vatican is sinning, the church’s topsy turvy worldview makes it inevitable. That’s why Roman Catholic ministers on here describe anyone being open about this as twisted.

Anyone NOT so inclined about the RC institutional church these days would definitely show symptoms of all the problems you listed. And much more, and much, much worse.
You still can’t figure it out, can you? Your institution is a criminal fraternity and is in abject moral disgrace around the globe. It is laughed at, especially when it lauds itself as the ‘one true church’, the ‘Bride of Christ’, and when the pope is divinised as ‘Holy Father’; in fact, such is the high comedic character here, that this self- pretension, in light of all we now know about the institution’s true nature, could rightly, without any exaggeration, be called ‘uproarious’.😅😅
‘Derangeelment of spirit’? 😅 Me? Well, all I can say to that is you people would know such ‘derangeelment’, since your instituion is its prototype and archetype.
Imagine belonging to an institution so morally dark that it had to be dragged by global media pressure, through its own obfuscation, prevarication, lying and thwarting, to implement ANY protections for children against kiddie-fiddling romanist priests and their machievellian, episcopal facilitators.
Personally, I would be just too ashamed to belong to such an institution. You clearly aren’t, ‘Father’. For this reason, I would never allow a child of mine anywhere near you, especially a boy.
As for your ‘prayers’, they are like smoke in a lateral edding wind: billowing from side to side, and rising nowhere useful.

As for romanist theology, whatever made you believe that I gave the proverbial about it?
Remember it was part of romanist theology, Moral Theology, that capital punishment was approved. This is now revoked, without one word of apology from the Vatican to Catholics about the fact that for hundred of years, Rome had taught in grave contradiction to the will of Christ. The spineless Romanists preferred to sweep that one under a carpet of silence, just as it had the dirt it taught on the afterlife for unbaptised children and adults.
Your institution believes in never saying ‘sorry’ for its errors and crimes.

The difference is clear but it is an anomaly.

It’s a matter of time before the decrees of the First Latern Council (1122) on clerical celibacy are reversed. That council was primarily concerned with eliminating civil ownership of clerical benefices and that is the crucial context of its decrees.

The anomalous situation referred to is part of the piecemeal process whereby obligatory clerical celibacy will cease.

A fortiori when a priest in a parish leaves to marry and is replaced by a married former Protestant.

Yes, God knew that even Lucifer would rebel, so why did he create him, and us? I truly don’t know. But if God is eternal, then all these were already in his mind, created as it were, when he knew what they would do, and not do.
I can suggest only that God was not free to pick and choose which of these internal creations he could not objectively manifest, since this would have been a denial of something that already existed, if only in his mind as a construct. God would then have been a killer, as it were; and God is not a killer.

Is this the same spirit that drew and kept these men loyal to an institution whose record on kiddie-fiddling, its systemic, and canonically mandatory, concealment, general worldliness, corruption, careerism, fraud, and distinquished absence of humility and moral integrity? Hatred is not an indicator of mental ill-health; in fact, its absence in light of so much evil commited by romanist priests, like you, might suggest sociopathy, or even psychopathy.
I know that a psychiatrist who, among other research, observed one of your kiddie-fiddling colleagues, Fr Brendan Smyth as he worked in prison, was convinced that Smyth was indeed a psychopath.
Your lack of hatred for the kiddie-fiddling and criminality of the institution you serve over Christ suggests a similar profile for you. In fact, I believe that the vast majority of romanist priests incline at least to sociopathy, since their noted absence of open and vocal protest against the crimes of the RC institutional church is difficult to accept purely as financial and career self-preservation. Even if one were to accept this in its entirety, it still leaves open the question of habitual emotional and moral indiffernce to the behaviour of the institutional church, the classic characteristics of sociopathy/psychopathy.
Never allow a child to be alone with a romanist priest. Ever.

No; rage and anger isn’t directed at such an abstraction, ‘the Catholic Church’, but at the personal concrete: romanist priests. And these emotions are exacerbated when priests, like you, continue to lie about others, including me.
Not one of my posts has incited hatred against priests; on the contrary, they have sometimes been expressions of MY hatred for a priesthood Christ himself did not institute, and most certainly, given its morally inglorious history, could never have wanted.
I shan’t be coy about my hatred for RC priesthood (and never have been on this blog) and the men who aspire to join it, not to serve Jesus, but to serve an institution so mired in its own corruption, it couldn’t, on its own through the prompting of conscience, move to protect innocent children from the priest perverts and predators who had seen the possibility of personal power, gain, and advantage in this sick institution and hurried to join its Christ-betraying ranks. It took the global media time, and relentless pressure, to FORCE the RC institutional church to implement safeguarding for children from the very men, and liars, who so pretentiously proclaimed themselves ‘other Christs’.
And here we go again with that tired old chestnut about knowing my identity from my time at Maynooth. If you know me, you gutless, lying priest-parasite, then name me. But you won’t, because you can’t.

They don’t have any, Betty. They’re bullies and they hate him.
They’re also liars – despite many claims of people claiming to know him nobody has yet named him.
But then that’s clergy for you.

10.00: Miss Betty Boots, the truth is that Mad Mags never accepted help, still doesn’t want help. He lives a miserable life. You need to go back a long way on this blog to understand his dysfunctionality. Yes, we’d all love to redeem him from his self destruct behaviour. Maybe you, as a “woman” might get through…

Perusing through the comments, one humorous observation suggests itself: in the almost two-thousand-year history of the Church, all the Church’s problems as identified by Magna Carta apply only to the last few decades. In other words, only to the time after he had applied to (and was ejected from) seminary. His case reminds me of the religious who was a Pioneer until well into his 50’s and died a roaring alcoholic.

Another Romanist lie. You could do with reading the history of your sect before you make a fool of yourself.

You miss the point at 6.56:
MC’s ‘identification’ of the Church’s problems achieved its clarity after he exited the seminary.
Draw your own conclusions.

But apparently not sufficiently persuasively to deter him from applying for and being accepted initially for seminary.

Pat the best thing on this blog is when the priests let the facade slip and you see the reality 😘

Poor auld magna is getting a bit of going over from other commentators. He does seem to be very angry sometimes and common sense can be lacking in an anger fueled reaction. I don’t find myself in agreement with him too often. However I wonder if free speech might allow for emotive reactions and if the church has not benefited much from suppressing such expressions in the past. A space like this blog offers a remedy to that by having a more Liberal approach to comment moderation. Not speaking for +Pat but that’s just one of the things that I think the blog has to offer.

Yes it does. Pat’s moderation policy does irritate me at times and I take some time off. But the great strength is the way this policy reveals people’s behaviour when they are anonymous.
Hint to the priests and cathbots reading this: get used to it because your days of not being answered back are gone and throwing your toys out of your pram won’t bring those days back.

Pat,
Maybe MC is one of your Larne street preachers. Why?
1. His theology is not Catholic.
2. He believes in predestination – though many mainstream Protestants who used to have abandoned it.
3. He’s a unionist.
4. He’s homophobic.
4. He has three or four lines (life jackets) to fall back on when he runs out of ideas which he rehashes ad nauseam.

9.40: Majority of commenters are non cleric. It’s so obvious, you idiot. Who cares about you haters?

LOL they always deny being clergy. As it happens a few have admitted it today. And you’ve revealed it by your clerical attitude.
I don’t blame you, I’d be embarrassed to be an RC priest as well 🤣
