THE REPORT THAT THE BISHOP OF CLOYNE DOES NOT WANT PEOPLE TO SEE.

PAT SAYS

The life and death of Father Lomasney was sad.

I hope he is now finding the happiness that eluded him for so long.

He obviously had a major struggle with alcohol for many years.

His actions on the altar in Kildorery also show that he had a major struggle with sexuality too – something that was probably made worse by his drinking.

Heavy drinking and immune illnesses make people more vulnerable to bronchopneumonia

He died in the Parochial House in Doneraile where he was staying with the PP, Fr Crowley.

CREAN:

The bishop, Crean, has trying to deflect from the whole situation by pretending the altar pictures were photoshopped.

They were not!

And apparently he never even went to Kildorrery to reconsecrate the altar and church.

THE KILDARE GAY SATANIC SET

There is an increasing concern that Michael Lomasney was involved with the Kildare gay Satanic set where a younger man is called the “Agnus Dei” (Lamb of God) and forced to drink bodily fluids from chalices 😱

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CATHOLIC AND ROMAN CATHOLIC.

By ~ Fr Evans Ishiekwene

Roman Catholic is a term sometimes used to differentiate members of the Catholic Church in full communion with the pope in Rome from other Christians who also self-identify as “Catholic”. It is also sometimes used to differentiate adherents to the Latin Church and its Roman rite from other Catholics, i.e. adherents of the Eastern Catholic Churches of various Eastern rites. It is not the official name preferred by the Holy See or bishops in full communion with the pope as a designation for their faith or institution.

Someone can be “CATHOLIC” but Non “Roman Catholic”

One of the Four Marks of the Church set out in the Nicene Creed, a statement of belief widely accepted across Christian denominations. Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and Oriental Orthodox consider the term to refer to a single institutional one true church, “CATHOLIC”

While Protestant ecclesiology considers it in reference as the “UNIVERSAL” Christian Church. Following the term “papist”, attested in English since 1534, the terms “Popish Catholic” and “Romish Catholic” came into use during the Protestant Reformation. From the 17th century.

Being a Roman Catholic does not signify other independent Catholics as non void CATHOLIC, Because the Church Remains Universal. Practicing the Ancient CATHOLIC Doctrines in adherents to the teachings of the Apostles and their successions given directly From Jesus Christ Himself Validly to His Apostles transmitted down to the Bishops, Which indicates the authenticity of the Church as “CATHOLIC”  but Non Roman Juridictions

Formulations such as the “Holy Roman Catholic Church” have occurred by officials of the Catholic Church before and after the Reformation. It has also occurred in the context of ecumenical dialogue with dialogue partners preferring this usage with other independent juridictions,  as “CATHOLIC” was in communication with the Armenian and Eastern Catholic Churches. Some years after the East–West Schism.

However, the last official  magisterium document to use “Roman Catholic Church” was issued by Pope Pius XII in 1950.

Christ is the Church, and the Church is One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, (UNIVERSAL).

Pat, I do not believe you should have printed the information re: Fr. Lomansey. Irrespective of moral and spiritual issues which had been discussed on your blog before and after his death, surely in death his family should be respected. Their awareness of this report must hurt and grieve them painfully. The printing of a person’s medical history should only be done with family permission. If anyone really wanted to know the report , let that be done privately. I was brought up to honour the dead. I still abide by that. Only for those concerned should a report be made available. The Bishop by his ministry has to care for and respect Fr. Lomansey’s family. Did you expect that he post a copy to everyone in his Diocese? I pray that this priest experiences God’s mercy because he was denied that by many on this blog. Yes, his crime was awful but the rest of his personal illness history is not yours to play with. I am disappointed that this priest is still being discussed on your blog.

Would you publish a similar report about a family member of yours if one was to exist. You have sunk to a new low and I hope that if the Family of the Priest sees this or are made aware of it that they will do something about an invasion of privicy. If Fr.Michael were permitted to enter a life long relationship he may not have needed the grog and most likely would have avoided the riskier sexual practices that caused him to become HIV positive. But yes, let’s do you think, speak no ill of the dead and allow the status quo continue so that others may encounter the same struggles.

I seem to have got a flurry of responses.
In short, people make assumptions about homosexual’s wishes about relationships. Perhaps I make assumptions in the opposite direction. But it is reasonable to consider the following. If homosexuals grew up in a world where there were not forced to accept a level of shame being attached to their sexuality, would they be able to live with a healthier sense of relationship from the get go?
With regards to making excuses for any one individual, I didn’t but perhaps Ger would have entered a healthier relationship with Yvonne if he were not compromised by a vow of celibacy which isn’t required by other priests in communion with Rome? Yes 12.05, you have been FACT-checked and found wanting. Look beyond Ireland if you can manage it. Also, it sounds like jealousy when you discuss shopping habits. Personally I shop based on what vouchers I get. I had a 20 off voucher for buying 75 in Tesco this week. Last week I had my club card vouchers from another shop. Things are tight at the moment. I didn’t need 75 worth this week, but Tesco is handy for stocking up on cleaning items and Tesco bloo blocks for the toilet.
Its a bit of a leap to say I am justifying a want in a car though. That’s just messed up behaviour altogether. Everybody knows to only wank in bedrooms and bathrooms (preferably your own).
Not sure how many relies were from
A) promiscuous gay men
B) jealous hetro men fantasising

No one wants to see this. What does it possibly serve to see that Michael was found in a chair by a cater ?

I wonder if those who published these details, commented on them prolifically and spoke terrible words can see their hand in how this man felt about life ?
I’m sure he was aware of his sins, his failings and his disgrace. Did he really need you to rub it in and make it a cause of national gossiping ?
I think you’ve hit a new low Fr Pat. I’m ashamed for Fr Lomasney, he’s a poor auld soul.

How come your only response is one of personalised hostility to my questioning the nature and basis of your religious belief, and you NEVER ever say one word of explanation in its defence?
Why does your religious faith as seen here, solely consist of angry aggression against another’s different perspective? Is that in the nature and essence of YOUR religious beliefs? Just to be clear: I’ve not been on a barstool, nor in a bar since March 2020.
I’ve asked several times on this blog (most recently on 9th Sept @ 11:12), for someone, anyone, to provide some, any, evidence as a sound basis for religious belief.
No-one has, or at best personal belief, the Bible, or that mysterious essence called FAITH is referred to. As you have stated yourself in your last phrase, what some people may consider religion or faith encompasses far more than Rome, which was exactly the same point in the discussion. If we should wish our faith or religion or belief to have an organisational angle at all, we have the absolute right to discern that organisation and remain autonomous from it. While conversations with you have not yet degenerated in the stereotyped direction of Magnum Carter’s, your imagination and observation must have shown you that some commenters wish to say things that are outside the box. Your comments can rightly be directed at specific replies preceding, but not extended to people you don’t know; and yes you have sometimes received partial explanations (which don’t bind you) regarding religions to some of your questions (and probably most of us aren’t continuous blog watchers).

A post or discussion about the eternal souls and destiny of the errant priest is futile – except to say that Gods mercy in wider than the ocean deeper than the sea and this kind of judgement is above everybody’s pay grade except Gods.
To be honest I believe RCC bishops are trained not to believe in the Satan or the demonic – I have personally witnessed many bishops Pooh Pooh the whole notion of personified evil and given their propensity for cover up and concealment I fear they are thick as thieves with the Prince of Thief’s and casting him out is the last thing they want.

I don’t suppose the inquest documents contain any secrets. It is well-known that poor Mick had problems but he is away from that now. Bishop Crean is not being secretive. He is being prudent, respectful and sensitive to the family. He is even being, to use that misunderstood word, pastoral.

We actually knew everything the report excerpt displays here, months ago – except for the timings though. If we think there is any reason for putting some religious authorities under pressure we have to choose our turf. Crean has chosen the turf this time. Now that we aren’t Romans, we cheapen the effect if we call them out solely on their own terms (e.g over an altar).

To subject him to more scrutiny – his family particularly – in your blig is unforgivable. That you live with HIV is not a licence to publish anyone else’s medical illnesses. You did the right thing different bug you cannot inflict deeper hurt on his family by your actions today. I did not know this priest. It’s a tragedy. But you have no moral authority to trespass unto any family’s grief. Such documents are available but I cannot countenance doing what you’ve done today. I do not believe Jesus would have whispered into your ear: “..Yippie!! Well done. He deserves it…” That’s not the Jesus you purport to imitate. 1. More than 50 years ago authority came into my school when we were 14 and told us we should consider “having” sex, this was not our light hearted tittle tattle, this was authority. I had to learn the hard way to keep my nerve in provisional singleness (which incidentally encompasses many “orientations”) and turn down substandard “brotherhood” in more than one form.
2. My mum used to get queried in the street for her complexion and her accent – in front of me – and I now realise that was sinister. She never dared tell us she had a brother who (we’ve figured out) she last certainly saw when she was 16 and he was 12. Three of my grandparents changed religion twice and there was no-one to “catechise” them so we thought it normal to stand on our own feet.
3. The Romans geared up all those centuries to pry into lives and that got worse since the 1920s. The blog analysed contradictions exhaustively but the Roman construction isn’t worth saving since 2018. Can you say where this research/study came from?
Where were the 300 deaths?
What percentage of clerical cases of AIDS HIV post ordination and sexually transmitted and what percentage from blood- contamination/needles/transfusions etc.
Of the 400,000 priests in the world 10,000 are HIV positive contacted post ordination would be an astonishing revelation wouldn’t?
When VGs or clergy in the inner circle boast of knowing where the body’s are buried they don’t mean body’s buried they mean body’s in the closet and I’m sure AIDS is a factor in the pastoral care of many clergy – I think that he had AIDS is a major factor in Creans desire to hush things up about the deceased priest.
Whereas the Catholic Community aren’t condemnatory of AIDS but concealing it.
I think a priest with AIDS should be open about this with his congregation.

I take people as I find them, if that means they have a condition so be it. I dont enquire if it was because of partners or needle stick injury, blood splash. It seems to be a major injustice. The scientists will jump at me and explain how the virus replicates etc etc but we need to know why there is no cure in 2021.

Prevention is better than cure. Education of the dangers and risks of how hiv is transmitted is important.
It would probably be seen as an acknowledgement of the problem, when minimising the scandal is the blueprint being followed. ☹️
Those infected with HIV are getting the treatment they need. That is to be commended but there is the obvious hypocrisy of those who are breaking the vow of celebacy, while LGBT parishioners are shunned.

Interesting article by Mike Harding in the Irish Times about his time at St Bede’s Manchester. The R C church is an evil sadistic institution.

If the bishop wants a guarentee that very few people will see a report, all he need do is put it in the Irish Catholic.

Pat, will we be hearing anything more on the blog about the Scottish Daisy Chain or Mr Keenan and the Paisley Three?

If the Bishop of this Minister’s diocese had just one ounce — or sense — of humanity or decency; then he would have long ago made at least some of the aspects of this official public recorded document available to ANY, and ALL, who may have had unprotected human-relational interactions with Fr. Lomasney.
All Bishops (and people – irrespective of denomination, colour, creed or religion ) have a duty of responsibility (or love and care…). Sadly, again; this is not the case: save for Bishop Pat.
It is very really possible you may have saved a lot of heartache and that kind of thing. A very responsible blog, as always! Possibly more than we will ever know… x
God bless you, Bishop Pat x

We have a situation here where priests who know they are HIV + having unprotected sex with seminarians and other priests/ lay people in one to one and group sexual encounters ( we have discussed the group encounters here) and to some it is not an issue. This goes very deep indeed.

I thought I had a vocation, met with the vocations director a few times, realised it was all a farce. I will find my real vocation, it sadly wont be a priest in the roman catholic church. The Roman Catholic Chruch are disturbing the real message of Jesus.

Just saw the RTE programme on D’Arcy. Pass the sick bucket. He claims the Fr Ted programme was based on him ffs. I am afraid Cahal B didn’t come across very well. I think D’arcy misled people by not admitting he went to apologise to Cahal in Armagh.

8.46: If men want to play around in a sexually irresponsibly way, which this priest sadly did, as did other men with him – all giving and receiving illnesses and viruses to one another, that’s not the fault of anyone else but those involved. When Bishops have preached moral responsibility in all things – sexuality included – you’ll scoff at them and label them as dinosaurs. Now, you want the bishop to tell all who may have had contact with Fr. Lomansey about their potential of being HIV? Are you for real? Men who consensually engage in sexual intimacy in an irresponsible way and who, sadly, may become ill, have only themselves to blame. Let’s put the responsibility where it belongs: in those who are irresponsible in their sexual intimacies!! Many men have discovered their HIV status and own their own responsibility for what happened The world of gay sex can be very reckless. The Bishop of Larne knows this as do many, many others. All of us who engage in intimate sex must be vigilant, honest and take personal responsibility for any negative consequences. And – we must be compassionate and caring towards those who need support. Your attack on Bishop Crean is absurd and unjust. You are shifting blame….as usual.
