WHY IS TOM DEENIHAN TOLERATING DYSFUNCTIONAL AND HARMFUL SILVERSTREAM?

TOM DEENIHAN, the bishop of Meath is the one with the authority and power to sort Silverstream out.

Silverstream is a diocesan monastery and not a religious order or monastery by pontifical right.

Deenihan is their “Ordinary”.

Deenihan continues to tolerate the following:

1. Allowing the abusing Kirby to remain on in Silverstream with access to all the young monks.

2. Refusing to investigate Kirby for breach of the seal of the internal forum.

3. Refusing to investigate Kirby for distributing the monks medical and private information to others.

4. Allowing a monk with a porn addiction to remain as priory superior.

5. Continuing the despicable unjust treatment of Dom Andersen in exile without a letter of good standing.

6. Investigating Kirby forcing monks to accept religious names revealed to Kirby by God.

WHY IS DEENIHAN NOT ACTING

I. Is he himself seriously compromised in some way? There is information among the clergy to that effect – information I am privy to.

2. Does Kirby have the “dirt” on Deenihan?

3. Has Deenihan received any gifts from Kirby?

4. Does Deenihan not want this blog and its author a “win:?

Now, that would be a pathetic reason for allowing dysfunctional behaviour and injustice to continue.

Perhaps he should have stuck to Silverstream rather than Thurles Seminary / Mary Immaculate College when he was only able to produce the hint of having previously unknown info. I think RN was right that it was the seminary suicide that might have stirred up some people. I think until he had a something like a full report (suitably redacted) he shouldn’t have said a thing. Dom Kirby would be too relaxed to bother getting anyone to make threats. He’s hopeful +Pat will forget. +TD now in the frame! He should always have been in the frame. There has been an unrealistic expectation of the visitation that was carried out. The diocese had an abject lack of their responsibility for the monastery.
The visitation findings were food for thought for both the monastery and the diocese. If the diocese are now living up to their responsibilities and the monastery is not, the monastery will be on shaky ground.
It was suggested by someone that the monastery are claiming that the visitation exonerated them. That’s a wild claim by the monastery. The next visitation could very well go against them.

The onus is on believers to provide evidence to support their reasons for belief, ….(.if they wish and choose to do so), and in an absence of which, they have no justifiable reason to criticise non believers or require conformity to the “belief” position. .
Non believers have no requirement to support non belief, either in God, or pink teapots for that matter. They simply say, I see insufficient evidence: kindly, if you wish to change my view, show me the reason for your belief.
Fact is that “proof” from believers is unconvincing, weak, riddled with contradictions and usually devolves into “faith”: a concept much influenced by indoctrinated wishful thinking and psyco/social emotional needs.
So on the evidence, and balance of probabilities, each of us makes our choice.

9.04: Well said. Robert Nugent is a very fine Christian with a great ministry of prayer and spirituality to share. He is also mostly guided by Gods mercy, love and compassion and his conviction about his Catholic faith is very inspiring. While I have disagreed with his handling of issues on this blog, he remains a true seeker of truth and justice. He will achieve these goals once he stays with Christ. That, I’m glad he chooses to do every day. Robert is away at the moment but his videos are uploaded each day. I pray that he will be speed the vicious bastardos who spew out scummy stuff at him. This article by Kitty appears to indicate +Tom visited Silverstream on 11 July 2020 during Covid-19 lockdown. No social distancing being observed there it would seem. Travel was also restricted at the time I think.

Its but useful for those in need of help.

However I’m not comfortable with this towards healing cos

1. unfettered access to names or files.

2. Problems with interpreters as 3rd party which I wasn’t comfortable cos some interpreters out there are loose cannons with their mouths or slip of their tongue to interpreter pals etc.

Also its a very small world as regards to deaf community and interpreters.

Less is better in my view. Was in hospital few months ago as they asked me if I would like an interpreter. Said no as there is a pen and a piece of paper as it worked out well. Thus saving hse money and our time as well.

Interpreters fees is quite high almost same level as senior partner lawyer fee – rate per hour. We aren’t rich as some of the Deaf are on disability allowance.

My preferred choice is the therapist and myself in a private setting without interpreter. 3rd party involvement has huge consequences if broken trust or something like that. It’s happened before here in Ireland without any oversight.

It might be OK if it wasn’t a deaf person, a hearing person the better cos of no 3rd party et al.

What do you know, please, of Father Thaddeus (Thaddy) Doyle? He’s on YouTube and has a website – http://glendaloughprayercentre.org/ – and it looks as if he has a support team behind him.
Although he seems to have studied at Maynooth and been ordained for Ferns Diocese he seems to be as independent as yourself, and taking a very independent line on some matters of possible changes to RC church teaching and discipline.
