A DUP councillor has been arrested on suspicion of child sexual grooming following claims made by a so-called “paedophile hunter” group.

William Walker is a representative for Newry, Mourne and Down District Council and works in DUP Strangford MP Jim Shannon’s constituency office.

Above is the picture of another DUP member (not a party official or politician) who is also an Orange Order member.

He has been having sex with a N. Ireland priest and dressing in his mother’s clothes.

He asked the priest to buy him high heels and the priest obliged.

In this area neither the priest or the man committed any crime. They were both consenting adults.

Of course the priest has to ask himself about the activity in relation to his vow of celibacy.

ORGANISATIONS CANNOT BE BLAMED FOR THE BEHAVIOYR OF MEMBERS

If a particular priest, clergyman, DUP member, GAA member is misbehaving sexually that behaviour cannot be blamed on the church, the political party or the sports body.

Unless of course the behaviour took place on the organisation’s premises or is somehow linked to the organisations in some other way.

As in the RCC moving offending priests to new parishes all over the world and covering up for them.

In the case if William Walker the DUP quite rightly immediately suspended him pending the outcome of the investigation.

This is because he was an elected councillor.

No church or organisation has a monopoly on virtue.

Nor a monopoly on wrongdoing.

If the last few years have taught us anything it is that people who speak about others and their sexuality in such reprehensible terms have frequently, if not usually, something in their own sexual lives which they are not dealing with in a constructive way. The bishop of Rome has spoken previously about ordaining older married men. It is something which should be strongly considered. A man of good standing who has raised a family in respect of his marital responsibilities, why not elevate these men to clerical state?
Many of the nephews of the brethren are great men. They all have lady wives however. Such a pity that these men cannot also be clergymen of good standing.

Defamation legislation in NI predates the internet and it’s the last part of the UK to review it.
The people who really are affected by it are, ironically, trolls.

It is most important to remember that they don’t actually hold the positions they state, it’s purely to cause trouble.
That page also has the best advice for how to deal with them:
Call out their behavior. Many people recommend you simply ignore trolls and don’t respond in any way, but this gives the trolls even more power as it gives them the power to silence you. Instead, ignore the troll but address the problem with the “audience” in a matter of fact way. Do NOT respond in a manner that stoops to the troll’s level or you risk two outcomes: 1) Feeding the troll and engaging in an unwinnable argument that will escalate, or 2) having the “audience” see you as another irritant/troll rather than as the balanced, decent and aggrieved party.
Frame your comment to the group along the lines of “Wow. Looks like we’ve got a troll trying to attack people on this site, derail meaningful dialog and control our conversation. I suggest that this forum doesn’t give them that power by ignoring their unproductive comments and continuing our discussion, or even take a moment to create a guideline for how we want to deal with trolls.”
Understand that where there’s one troll, there may be many more waiting to pounce once the first troll has started. All too frequently, you see cases where others pile on with additional nasty comments. This just means there may be more than one troll that needs ignoring.

Bishop Pat at 10:51, the key thing about trolling is the intention behind it, which is to create havoc on an online setting by making comments which are offensive in some way. It’s confusing because trolls’ behaviour is not necessarily their real thoughts and it’s behaviour designed to escalate.
Because it’s about the intention and trolls never admit to intending to create havoc it’s impossible to say ultimately what comments are and are not trolling, however in moderating comments my advice gained from moderating several forums, is to be very suspicious.
You decide what you want the comments on this blog to be like and set rules. If you have the slightest doubt that a comment is sensible just don’t publish. If the person really has something to say they can rephrase it. I haven’t met you but I don’t believe you really agree with many of the racist, homophobic and transphobic comments on here, and so you are the only person who can decide whether you want them.
Having a published comments policy will stop people who don’t mean to troll from straying over the line – unfortunately it doesn’t stop trolls because they don’t care.
I think you are a genuine liberal who is not easily offended but I also think you forget how offensive some of the comments on here can be. That’s why it’s better to set general policy and be suspicious.

You’re not obliged to allow comments. It sounds like it’s stressful. There is nothing wrong with a day where you have no comments or stop anonymous comments if you need it.

The first port of call for crooks is to deny everything and screech, lies, lies, lies. Second port of call is to feign illness or commit suicide. Accountability or facing consequences for wrongdoing is clearly never an option nor on agenda of anyone in RCC hierarchy or in its ranks. This is excellent news. Thousands of comments on this blog have been and continue to be deliberately offensive, hurtful, homophobic and hate inciting. Glib answers and responses are given to serious questions. It is Pat’s blog so he has the power and moral responsibility to ensure that commenters do not cross a certain line of personalised and ugly vitriol, designed to cause maximum humiliation. It might also be pertinent if “rules” for commenting are published, as some blogs do. I just cannot fathom the depth of nastiness that’s tolerated and the “bring them down” mind set that prevails. Where egregious crimes of abuse occur, we all know where we stand and that civil courts deal with such but targeting individuals to the death because of personal sinfulness, failures and transgressions is utterly disgusting. A troll on the internet someone posting online to get a rise from someone or a group of people. Sometimes harmless, sometimes nasty. Sometimes a whole online persona is created to that end. The Daily Mail meaning is anyone who says mean things to celebs and their stunning pins. An old meaning is seeking gay sex, I think, but there’s no relation to this new meaning.

Fr Vincent Daka who is a close confidante of Bishop Deenihan has been very vocal in how he has treated Dom Benedict Anderson and how he has handled the entire Silverstream situation around Mark Kirby and would be an interesting figure to get in contact with.
