REVEREND MOTHER OF TEGELEN CONVENT IS TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH KIRBY.

MOTHER IMMACULATA FRANKEN

ONE OF MOTHER IMMACULATA WEIRD TEXT MESSAGES MESSAGES TO KIRBY.

She woke up and saw Jesus and he told her to suffer rather than leave Kirby.

Apparently on visits to Silverstream she went completely hysterical if Kirby did not spend enough time with her?

Kirby used to beseech the other monks for advice and how to deal with her and handle her.

THE THIN LINE BETWEEN MYSTICISM AND MENTAL ILLNESS.

As a Christian a priest and bishop I do of course believe that God is able to and does speak to certain people.

But in general God uses other people and daily circumstances to communicate with us.

Occasionally, God raises up mystics like St John of the Cross, St Teresa of Avila etc and communicates with them.

DOM KIRBY AS MYSTIC?

Book by Dom Kirby

I do not believe that Dom Mark Kirby is a mystic or that Jesus was speaking to him from the tabernacle.

Kirby has and has always had, serious psychological and emotional problems.

His sexual abuse as a child, which he has never really come to terms with, has left him seriously psychologically scarred.

His failure to accept his homosexual orientation and to hide behind the holy, chaste, celibate monk image is a serious case of sexual repression and sublimation.

His habit of expressing his sexuality by his fascination with younger men and having whoopsie moments with them of genital exposure is very disordered.

In Sinu Jesu Mark Kirby is trying to reinvent himself as a “saint” in order to cope with the ‘sinner” he really believes he is.

That it became a spiritual best seller says more about the minds of the buyers and readers than it does anything else.

Why is it human beings are always in search of new gurus and Christians are not satisfied with Jesus Christ?

NUN STALKERS

Nuns stalking priests is by no means a new phenomenon.

I had two nun stalkers as a younger priest.

They would beg me to let them do my washing.

In the car they wanted to hold hands as we drove along.

They got viciously jealous if I dared look at another nun.

One even burgled a consultants office and filing cabinet to get reading my medical notes!

I love that word invented by the playwright – CHASTITUTE.

Priests and monks who have not come to terms with their sexuality and engage in secret sexual behaviour are male chastitutes.

Nuns, who have never had a baby in their womb and get a notion of a priest and stalk him are female chastitutes.

It now seems that Dom Kirby chastitute has her “baby” now living under her roof?

As a priest once said to me:

“Pat, they wouldn’t let us get rid of our semen and it went to our heads and made us mad”.

One has to be careful of trolling. The new law of defamation requires only a judge to make the decision. If a person felt that a
member
of the clergy had taken away their good name it is vital that the judge is completely neutral of the church. Remember there was a question over the judge in the Fr. Flynn case. A person has to be careful when God talks to them that they are completely 100 % sure of what he is saying to them.

You mean that law that is still under discussion and hasn’t passed into law yet? 😂

I agree. Moreover they should ask God to put it in writing so the RCC can give it an official ‘imprimatur.”
That would make it best evidence, in fact, as good evidentially as the Holy Bible. MMM

Good luck, Tom. 👌

Another Delusional Sheelagh – Cathbot – obsessed – at least she is professed – most church obsessed women are laity – highly manipulative and dysfunctional. Just like their Idols. Proves how dysfunctional management are in sending Kirby to Mother Immaculata in first place now that the past history of these 2 is highlighted. Another disaster in the making. Immaculata sounds vulnerable and obsessed with Kirby. A very poor and questionable destination for the errant Dom Kirby. One wonders what other MIA’s are tucked away in these convents worldwide.

Sexually repressed women who covert their sexuality under the illusion of devotion to God or the religious life often divert it towards an obsession with an authority/high control male – a basic sado-masochistic model – that’s what’s going on with this petulant nun.
Same for:
Von Balthasaar and Speyer
Von Hugel and Underhill
Wojtola and his lady friend
Francis and Clare
De Sale and Jane Chantelle
Christianity and sex not good bedfellows too much hypocrisy and repression and unexpressed emotions and sex come out in darker more complex ways.
Kirbys Nun is a sexual hysteric who isnt obsessed with Kirby she’s obsessed because her sexuality is repressed.

Maybe the nun was divinely sent to get DMK to catch himself on. If he was uncomfortable with the attentions of the nun, he from that experience should have reflected on the discomfort he was causing others.

When I was a student in Rome I met and befriended an English novice sister about my age. To borrow your famous phrase Pat we were two consenting adults who pushed the bounds of a platonic relationship for about a year til she returned to England. I carried on in Rome. I don’t think it did either of us any harm and it never had any adverse affects on me in my career.

Like

A quick google shows that she is a nun in the UK and I’m a priest. I don’t think it has had any averse effects on my abilities or sincerity and dedication to my vocation. I can say, hand on my heart, that in my years following I’ve never been inclined to do it again or anything similar.
I know that at least one of my superiors knew about the relationship (through confession) and I was still allowed to proceed to perpetual vows the following year.

Like

So one of your superiors ‘knew’ about the relationship but only in a way where he couldn’t tell anyone else.
And you comment that it didn’t stop you proceeding to perpetual vows…
Of course it didn’t! Jesus!

Like

If you knew anything about seminaries and houses of formation in those days, you’d know that “anything you say or do can and will be used against you…” including from within the confessional. ‘Twas brutal. If a brother confessed regularly to having a roving eye they’d just say that it was clear he wasn’t ready to live a chaste life etc. Simple. I was lucky that this particular superior was quite normal (and not Irish; are these two things connected?)

Like

Is it a good idea to confess to superiors? Inner and external forums etc

Like

No Pat, its not. But the Church is slow to change as you well know.

I’m settling into a new role in formation (incidentally, in the same house in Rome where I first met the aforementioned sister many moons ago) and it is a fundamental rule that formators are not to be available to hear the confessions of those in formation. Usual exceptional circumstances not permitting of course.

Like

Pat at 2:02, this has arisen with Silverstream. Once again the total moral bankruptcy of the church is revealed by a single comment.
And it’s far from simple.
1. A temporary professed ‘pushes boundaries’.
2. He lets one of his superiors know in confession.
3. He thinks that the notional seal of confession will be broken and believes this to be routine.
4. Internal/external forum are totally mixed up.
5. He continues to final profession and both he and the sister are still religious.
6. He comments about this online.
Are there any boundaries of any sort here?
No.

Sexual dynamics dominate the Catholic Church – it’s the Big Unspoken Secret – they are like the Victorian’s (Foucault) we think they suppress it but the truth is they are obsessed with it.
Every dysfunction at parish level or in a religious house involves frustrated sexuality in one form or another and the thirst for domination. v submission, whose top dog (top), whose the bottom dog (bottom) all underpinned by the clerical caste (clergy or religious) being affirmed and indulged.
It’s all about sex stupid!!
But and here’s the RUB virtually to a man and woman clergy and religious are sexually immature, stuck in adolescent lock, obsessed with masturbation and pornography all under the cloak of enforced celibacy and the illusion of piety etc!!

Reverend Mother Immaculata entered into this of her own accord when she provided safe haven for a known creep and two young novices.

Someone in Holland was clearly concerned enough about this to provide information to Bishop Pat.

Something tells me that it would be much less of a story if it was just Kirby himself and not the young novices.

And, of course, none of this Silverstream saga would be on Pat’s blog had Bishop Deenihan dealt with the issue in a just, responsible way.

The collateral damage, as you say, is unfortunate, but the responsibility lies squarely at the feet of one Tom Deenihan.

That picture is really creepy. If he’s declared Venerable, it’s yet more proof that the system for assessing causes of saints is irredeemably broken. After some minor PVI changes, JP2 broke the integrity of the system. Removing the so called devil’s advocate was a sign of that, but overall there was a loss of rigour. It might be noted for St Josemaria Escriva care was taken to investigate issues that would detract from his cause (resurrecting an ancestor’s aristocratic title was an apparent obsession, claimed too the Opus Dei founder thought of becoming Eastern Orthodox so devastated he was by the New Order, and usually Fr Josemaria got an indult for the Vetus Ordo without asking for it). Opus Dei had the nous to ensure his cause was looked at with some rigour.
Dodgy bishops giving money that makes the receiver look dodgy and beholden to them, is a well trodden path.

The European and world community ought to act more cohesively to end this madnes of Putin. Parishes hopefully will rally behind all efforts to help arriving Ukranians. While many of us are paying attention to the potential for world war and worry about the future because of this conflict and are shocked at the slaughter of innocent people and the fleeing for the safety, we realise the futility of war and hatred and egomaniacal and dysfunctional madness. The world is a very fragile place. Doesn’t scripture ask, ” Where do these battles come from…they come from within…We want something and can’t get it, so we use violence..and force..” Violence and force to assert our dislike of others is evidenced by our desire to strip others of their dignity, to dehumanize them, to humiliate, to ridicule…to mock, to reduce others to a feeling of utter uselessness and fun. Many commenters on this blog should hang their heads in shame. May God in some way heal your sinful hearts.
