PAT SAYS

The EUGENE GREENE abuse case was one of the worst in Ireland.

On the night, he was sentenced, the bishop went to sympathise with the abusers family and ignored the victims and their families.

When Greene was in prison, the Catholic parishioners collected money to build the priest abuser a house for when he got out of prison !!!

It shows what the Irish RCC did and still does.

IS BISHOP MARTIN HAYES STILL MISSING FROM KILMORE DIOCESE?

Above is the picture of MARTIN HAYES THE DISAPPEARED BISHOP OF KILMORE, in Tipperary recently.

Hayes was visiting his home parish in Tipperary.

But is he back in his diocese in Cavan?

Remember:

1. He disappeared suddenly and without explanation.

2. The Kilmore priests were ORDERED not to pray for their ishop purely!!!

3. As a result, rumours became rife as to the abuse of the disappearance – illness, scandal, etc

It is still not known if he is back in Cavan.

Nor is the reason for the curious and swift departure.

When a priest / vicar or bishop disappears it’s usually sex / abuse related. Sadly, usually somebody, usually a vulnerable person, has been grieved and the clerical colleagues are in the background trying to cover up the mess. Again, as so sadly is often the case, there is usually a clueless victim in the background being gaslighted, while being lead up a very sinister “garden path.” Usually, lay-people, as well as clergy, are involved in this toxic and poisonous practice.
Sometimes it can even be an “ecumenical” affair…
I could write a very long book with lots of colour pictures and sound bytes!

Excellent post.
In my experience, lay professionals, including a doctor, as well as a counselor, were involved in assisting or informing the Church on strictly confidential matters. It is long past time for the hierarchy to take responsibility. Stop gaslighting survivors. Safeguarding MUST be completely independent of the Church. Every diocese on the Island of Ireland needs to be independently investigated.

8:34am yes, our parish is a controlling network – priest always in and out of doctors & visibly scanning waiting room to identify patients. Priests and their covert connection to lay professionals, as you have experienced for yourself, are an issue in every Diocese in Ireland – yet another type of clerical interference and downright breach of human rights. Basically you are dealing with a proactive and corrupt Mafia who are constantly on their guard collecting information to use in case they are caught out for their own wrong doing.

Like

The truth about the church hits people gradually and they adjust as they go along. For example Robert Nugent is still at the stage where he wants to purify the church of corruption – I hope he isn’t disappointed when he discovers that without the corruption there is nothing left. You are at the stage where you’re horrified at realising how extensive the mafia is
But I notice you call it our parish. You really don’t need that parish in your life and I think on reflection you will conclude it causes you more distress than helps you.

Ah, yes! Lovable Eugene Greene. So lovable that one of his victims, years after his sexual abuse by the alter Christus Greene, confronted him, and then bodily threw the bastardo across a room.
God bless the RCC.!

The worst thing about that documentary about the fiend Greene and the evil atrocious schoolteacher was the leniency of their sentences. The fact that the schoolteacher had the audacity to go back to Donegal was unbelievable. They should both have been sentenced to life without parole.

11:34am. When a cleric is off ill it is either to the St. Luke’s Centre, Manchester; the presbytery; or the hospital.
To disappears all of a sudden without any valid reason is quite different from being off ill; parishioners usaully get unsatisfactory answers upon asking questions. Their colleagues go quiet and say they haven’t seen or heard anything; when genuinely off ill, clerical colleagues will speak more openly without rudely shutting down or changing the subject.
I sincerely hope this answers your question, Father?

I am not a priest, but I do sometimes wonder why people just don’t think the obvious.
If that priest is visiting his GP often, then might it not be that he has poor health rather than his seeking from his doctor information about his parishioners? This is the obvious explanation.

You say what I have long believed :
that:
When the inveigling combination of youthful altruism and indoctrinated religiosity wanes, the true abusive nature of the RCC and it’s dubious foundations becomes clearer and eventually erodes many clerics beliefs. Many come to see it for what it is: a massive sham and con. But by then, their financial and economic entrapment imprisons many who descend into the abusive behaviour now so prevalent.
The courageous ones get out.
The weak charlatans hang on.

That you do all those things is laudable, I suppose. But there is no getting round (no defence for) the fact that you gave your allegiance, first and foremost, to a church that has disgraced itself on every continent. You can’t expect plaudits for that; only contempt.

9.58: MMM: For an avowed atheist, you have a great interest in all things Catholic. You generally contribute variations on a theme, the theme being that the whole edifice of Roman Catholicism or any Christian religion is all founded on myths, stories, lies. You argue that the courageous leave, the weak charlatans hang on. Am I a charlatan? I sincerely hope not. Irrespective of your certain theories or learning, I don’t consider attending the sick, housebound and the dying as the work of a charlatan: officiating at funerals, some very sad and tragic (suicides/drugs); visiting 4 schools as frequently as is possible; sacramental preparation; organising parish seminars, retreats, missions and overseeing three parishes -you’d want me to believe that this is charlatanism. I find your comment offensive and I’m sure you include Pat’s Oratory in your sweeping judgment. Yet, you use his blog to play your variations on a theme, almost every day. I respect your rational views but this, along with other vulgar comments today is most unfair. It amounts to a narrative of poisonous vitriol and sneering contempt. I know we must accept criticism but sometimes the deliberate denigration hurts when you are smeared by the language typified in your comment today.

@11:58: I make no apologies. Your comment provides absolutely no proof of the veracity of the religious claims of the RCC. All it does, is to refer to “good works.” While such are commendable, they do not validate the weird beliefs of your church: that an almighty Creator became man, allowed himself to be killed for our sins, left behind priests empowered to
“transubstantiate”, etc etc…..in fact the whole charade into which naive children are indoctrinated.
The weak charlatans hang on trying to validate their beliefs and position through community services, but under the more “praiseworthy ” banner of pastoral works.

9:07 Yuk. indeed. Oddballs 🤮. Let’s face it. Most churches are literally empty, who would actually miss them if they just packed up and left every parish. The only ones would be their own oddball adoring cronies who benefit from the association via various means – being those self important and self entitled social control freaks who must be heard and get their own way at all costs. Schools should reflect the reality of modern society and not influenced and controlled by the undercurrent of Catholic priests as they are currently. Teachers should not be so closely related & connected to local priests as some of them are – leading to unauthorised informal sharing of student data. As someone else said on here today, they only use anything they can to help themselves.

Good morning Pat
Is it possible for you to do a blog on canon law and why the church appears to have more importance for this law than for the laws of the new testament in the holy bible. I am confused about it all. I read that pope Saint John Paul the second did not help sexually abused victims because of his purity of thought where such evil actions of abusers did not enter his head and this purity of thought has made him a saint.

According to Fr. Tom Doyle, John Paul 2 knew of the CSA looming crisis in America in 1985. JP2 did nothing. Purity of thought is pure propaganda- a load of bull.

Yes, it’s a code word for refusing to see it. Pope John XXIII already met with Fr Fitzgerald about the abuse problem in the sixties so if Pope Paedophile Promoter didn’t know it’s because he refused to.
Pro tip: There also isn’t one diocese in the world that hasn’t had it’s share of disastrously handled abuse. Krakow is no exception. No bishop is untainted.
Purity my arse.

So please don’t be offended if in 2022 the amount of cover up and lying makes people assume you are a sexual predator and cover up stooge until proved otherwise. We’ll try to stop our children shouting paedo at you in the street but children don’t understand the seriousness of abuse and think it’s funny.

Good afternoon Bishop Buckley.
I am a concerned mother of an autistic child that was abused verbally by our parish priest on Sunday past after mass.
After mass, father approached me and give me a nasty telling off at the noise my son was making.
Granted, he was noisy but as a child of god he should be welcome into the church; but also given the fact he has autism and cannot comprehend his own behaviour it makes the priests behaviour even more appalling.
I was very shaken up by this and fellow parishioners told me of the same happening to them and advised me to write to the bishop.
I have done so but they tell me not to expect anything substantial to happen to him. While speaking with a friend today they told me about your blog highlighting likewise concerns and hope you could help me end this mans behaviour.
Thank you

Surely you yourself must realise that many of your commenters are using your blog to repeat very offensive judgments and crass vulgarity against the vast majority of clergy? You allow repeat, daily diatribes of horrible, nasty, vicious and hateful things to be said. It is an injustice: the name calling, effeminising of names, bulldozing people into the ground, lies often told, much hearsay and innuendo. You provide a forum for opinion but you must at least realise the unnecessary offensiveness of much commenters – who are daily contributors and who seem unable to say anything good or positive, all of them given encouragement by you. You facilitate a very nasty, hating, vengeful platform for too many repeat commenters.
