FINTAN MONAHAN REPORTS GER TO POLICE.

FROM FINTAN TO CAROLE

When your bishop reports you to the civil authorities (police), things have become most serious indeed.

Fintan told both Carole and Yvonne that he believed their stories.

I imagine the matters referred by Fintan to the Gardai may include the five figure sum in Ger’s bank account, his use of other people’s prescription drugs, and his sourcing of marajuna for others’ use.

Decisions on these matters will be matters for the Gardai and public prosecution service.

FINTAN’S INTERNAL CHURCH OPTIONS

Canon 277 binds Ger to “Observe perfect and perpetual continence.”

In other words, Ger must observe complete celibacy and chastity. He has obviously contravened Canon 277 section 1.

Section 2 of Canon 277 requires Ger to “behave with due prudence in relation to persons whose company can be a danger” to their celibacy and chastity.

Her has behaved with total imprudence in his relationship with Yvonne and Carole.

In this, he is in breach of Canon 277 section 2.

How any canon lawyer has told him he is not in breach of Canon Law is a great mystery.

FINTAN’S PUNISHMENTS

Fintan has already moved Ger from ministry.

He can extend that removal period – but that leaves Ger getting € 22,000 + per year for doing nothing.

He can suspend Ger from the priesthood entirely and bring a case to Rome for Ger’s laicisation.

Or Ger can leave the priesthood voluntarily and work out a settlement with Fintan.

Given Ger’s behaviour and the massive scandal it has caused, I cannot see how Ger could ever be given another appointment as a priest.

Parishioners would worry about the parishes’ vulnerable women.

It looks as if the buses beckon.

There was always the Albanese Eparchy of Southern Italy whose Greek Rite priest are usually married although Francis carelessly allows celibate Latin priests to be appointed to parishes. Amidst his simping for Putin and Kirill he has shown (in words and actions) that he utterly despise Greek Rite or Uniate priests thinking they should be all Orthodox despite the Eparchy being as old, dating to when the south of Italy was msinly Greek cultured. Pius XII authorised some Protestant ministers who were married to be ordained. If the norms are incomplete, there’s plenty of precedent to guide us.

Why does Fintan flit from the First Person singular to its plural? Was it meant as an expression of the ‘royal we’? A naked assertion of his presumed episcopal authority as a ‘successor of the Apostles’?
As for that preposterous and ludicrous canonical statement that celibacy leaves a priest with an ‘undivided heart’ to serve Christ, you do know, don’t you, what this pious-sounding drivel snootily implies? That marriage causes a DIVIDED human heart, and, therefore, a heart struggling (and, by definition, failing) to serve two masters, God and mammon. On the blessed contrary, priesthood is seen as the higher and superlative moral state. That priests, sacramentally, are superior to the laity ontologically.
What a load of self-serving, clericalist balderdash! We have seen, categorically, what this ‘higher and superlatve’ state has done to the Church: nonchalantly tossed it into a moral gutter.

God’s love is very much present in the giving and sharing of love in marriage and family life, often in remarkable ways. No. The class of 2011 were an interesting bunch.
One has held a sleepy post since 2017, but for 2011 to 2017 he had to be moved almost every year. Reasons include objections from Gardaí over late night preaching outside night clubs where young people were told that they were damned to hell.
However that group is generally a troubled group.

In any responsible job -social worker, teacher etc -you would be fired sharpish. The fact that you are a priest makes it even worse. Remember, Fr Ciaran Dallat returned to his duties after spending time of “reparation, spiritual guidance and counselling”. I imagine he also underwent sterilisation.
Given the chronic priest shortage, perhaps +Fintan may have a similar plan for Fr Ger. The doctor will, of course, first numb Ger’s scrotum with a local anaesthetic.

I suppose it’s difficult to resign because that doesn’t happen until a priest is dispensed from the clerical state. That used to take some time, but there is a new administrative procedure after a priest has absented themselves for five years. A first step Is for the priest himself to request the removal of his name from the diocesan website and diocesan directory and to refuse to accept diocesan money. In that way, they have cut the apron strings and should be allowed to move on..

Ger has no future in the RC priesthood. He should instruct a solicitor who specialises in reputation management and limit some of the fallout from all this, so he can move forward and build a new life without all this ‘history’ impeding him. Now the matter has been referred to the Gardai; it’s key to get proper legal representation (not canon law rubbish) at this early stage. Fintan and the RCC will hand him over to the wolves.

Despite the hurt of the women, no one comes out of this saga with dignity. No one. Not even the women; their lives are in tatters too, sadly, as are their families. Is it necessary now to continue to flatten Ger? The next chapter of his life is very unpredictable but he is ruined, along with the “lady” friends/lovers.

Having read so much these past few days about Carole, Yvonne and Ger, I come to the conclusion that one is as bad as the other. Ger’s behaviour is outrageous, reckless and morally irresponsible but the two women do not come out of this horrid affair smelling of roses. There seems to have been a very loose set of morals at play, experimental seeking of intimacy, the need for affirmation in strange ways. Experience tells us that when we are selfish and dishonest in our relationships, betrayal, hurt and vengeance usually follows. I have no sympathy for any of the 3 participants in this play. They have each in his/her own way contributed to this unseemly and nasty messiness. At the beginning of Holy Week, all participants would benefit greatly by reading the Passion Narrative from St. Luke’s gospel or place their “misery” against the horror of Ukranian women, men and children who deserve our attention.

Adding on to my comment: All yarns inevitably unravel…the truth will eventually come out. Bishop Monahan blocked me today on Twitter & Facebook. Guess I touched on a nerve & he’s scared I might tag him on social media. Who cares? I’m sick of his posts on his dog and the flowers blooming at Westboune. Pat, can you ask Carole why she paid ger to drive her to collect someone from Dublin Airport apparently she could drive herself as her husband needed the car to collect the children from school on a Saturday I might add…. also why did she join the gym in castleconnell a half an hr from her home in sixmilebridge was it because she knew ger was a member? I noticed your story telling only tells one side and you are letting Carole run riot on the blog….. at least when it was yvonne she had a bit of dignity and didn’t behave the way Caroke is…. I know this won’t get published but maybe you could get Carole to clarify these items and maybe give a statement as she so loves to give…. much appreciated

Also SMB is quite close to Castleconnell footbridge and the Castle Oaks gym. He alternatives are Shannon (a place I’d wish on nobody) or the Radisson in Limerick. Am surprised Ger attends a gym TBH:-)

Fr Todd, smb as u put it is in no way near castleconnell foot bridge or not 🤣🤣 I live just outside the bridge so I would know….. check Google maps if u need to clarify that… plus yhe radisson is a far superior gym to the river along with the Greenhill all within easier reach than the rivers

@ 10:21 I paid Ger to take me to Dublin airport a few times because Dublin is very big and I felt more comfortable having him drive. We had a business deal for those trips. The relationship between us was separate. He did after all claim he was broke all the time, I naively believed him and thought by paying him for those trips I was helping him. One of those trips to airport was last July airport when he had over xxxxx euros in his bank account only I didn’t know about it 🤣. Whether the money in his account was his or not remains to be seen. Ger’s gym membership was paid for by me as a birthday present. Again he told me he couldn’t afford to do a gym membership 🤣. Got that in writing. Pity he didn’t use it to get himself into shape… I did my membership there shortly afterwards and had to sell a designer bag to pay for it. Why shouldn’t I have a membership in Castleconnell? The facilities are clean, there’s a heated pool, sauna and jacuzzi, which we don’t have in the bridge. As usual, I was always thinking of Ger’s welfare over my own. He had me wrapped around his finger just like all the other women in Ennis who used to do things for him. You Ger groupies are trying to sweeten up Yvonne now because you know that she and I together are a force to be reckoned with. You can pass on to Gru that we are talking on a daily basis and we won’t tolerate lies being said about us. And you can be sure that I will continue to go to the gym in Castleconnell and if any of you get any ideas to try and target me while I’m there, you will only be making it worse for your bossman.

@ 12:51 Thanks Todd. It is improving because of the exercise. I never got an apology out of GF. He always knew I was good at finding historical things at auctions and eBay. I bet he never thought that I would find him out. That man had me on an emotional roller coaster for such a long time…. Thank God I am on solid ground again.

The same person who spoke to the Bishop about the €€€ is the same person that GF spoke to about me & if I decide to sue for slander then he will be called as a witness.
