In a sharp and monumental departure from Catholic Church teaching, the Vatican celebrated “testimonies” of child adoption by homosexual couples as well as homosexuality itself.
The Synod on Synodality website, overseen by the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops, on Friday highlighted as praiseworthy three stories of homosexual adoption that were shared by Noelle Therese Thompson, the synod leader of Immaculate Conception Parish in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
The first, titled “Parker’s pro-life story,” tells how a woman who was on the verge of having an abortion decided to give her child up for adoption when she saw that a friend of hers, who was in a same-sex relationship, wanted a child. The story credits the homosexual relationship for being responsible for saving the child’s life, concluding, “Today, Parker is an eight-year-old boy with two loving parents, Karl and Diego, whose relationship saved this child from abortion.”
The second, titled “The story of a sexuality that gives life,” shares how a “married” homosexual couple adopted local teenagers with mental disabilities. It is noteworthy, considering that it is impossible for a gravely disordered sexuality to “give life” that the website page itself makes clear regarding the stories, “The titles are our own.”
The last story tells how a man who teaches at a Catholic school and his “married” partner “decide to foster, love and adopt young children internationally and, in doing so, lift them out of extreme poverty.”
The teacher’s “greatest sadness is that he has to hide his sexuality in order to keep his job in a church institution and that he does not feel welcome in the Catholic Church precisely because of his sexuality which he considers God-given, and this despite his attempt to love the poor and destitute through his pro-life decision to adopt,” the story concludes.
The Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) has stated, according to then-CDF prefect Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, “Allowing children to be adopted by persons living in [same-sex] unions would actually mean doing violence to these children” by placing them “in an environment that is not conducive to their full human development.”
PAT SAYS
For the Christian, the great test of everything is LOVE.
God is LOVE.
Wherever there is Love their is God.
Too often on the Blog we see lust, permissiveness, abuse, using etc.
But people must never forget that there are.many homosexual couples are not motivated just by sex. These couples love each other. And that Iove is acceptable to the Loving God and pleasing to God.
For many heterosexual and homosexual couples sex is vitally important at the beginning and for a long time.
But many couples find, that as sex decreases in their relationship love and companionship grows
That is the essential difference between lust and love. Lust decreases. True love increases.
The Church cannot write off love in any form.
And if they do, they are writing off, at least one aspect of God.
THE CHALLENGE
In these days the Church is being challenged to rethink some of its traditional and unenlightened approaches to human sexuality.
It’s not a matter of abandoning everything. It’s a matter of allowing things to evolve through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which is also reflected in human and scientific progress.
As Jesus said – the wise merchant brings put from his wares things both new and old.
I am sometimes uncomfortable by strident gays insisting on calling their partners husbands or wives.
Are these not terms associated traditionally with heterosexual marriage?
Same sex marriage is a new phenomenon.
Can we not find new terms?
I always introduce my “other half” as my partner.
Neither he or I see ourselves as husbands or wives.
I don’t think we can expect the RCC soon to regard same sex marriage as traditional marriage.
But the RCC must recognise where love is and and find ways to celebrate that love.
Next week, as I’ve done before, I will celebrate a full legally recognised same sex marriage for two Catholic men who are in love.
By agreement that marriage will take place in the context of the Mass.
I fully believe that what we will be doing will be fully pleasing to Almighty God.

What is utterly confusing, conflicting and contradictory is the governance of the Church, i.e. the hierarchy and clerics, covering up worldwide systemic abuse of children and vulnerable adults in order for the governance of the Church to ‘appear good’ – the complete antithesis of the message of Jesus Christ. Clerics and hierarchs are NOT victims.

11.46: Recently in the Dublin Diocese land and property were identified as being surplus to requirements and were offered to the various City and County Councils. The council’s and local community groups objected and overruled the acceptabce of such by the Diocese. Why? Because political and conservation activists didn’t want such lands to be built in the identified areas. It was argued that any housing developments would destroy their ambient sensitivities. The lands offered were substantial. It would be useful if people had all truthful facts at hands before creating lying narratives.

The definitive schism with the eastern Church came just before advances in technology and notions of doing something for Jerusalem, in which the eastern Church would have been a steadying hand.
The definitive schism with anything spiritual, led by Montini, Teilhard SJ, Rahner SJ, and colleagues, came just before notions of projecting a big, famous image.
When children in my generation were in need, where was the big famous Church? Not on its knees for us and not attending to wrongs in Ireland or the confessional, but focussed on belittling us by abolishing the new liturgy (facing the congregation) it had only just brought in (and ever since it makes out liturgy is all-important).

YAOUNDÈ, Cameroon – A Catholic priest in Malawi is one of a dozen people convicted over the murder of a man living with albinism.
MacDonald Masambuka, 22, was brutally murdered in 2018.
In a judgment April 29, a High Court in Malawi concluded that the 12 people, including the priest (Masambuka’s brother), a hospital staff member, and a police officer plotted to kill Masambuka to extract his bones, hoping to benefit financially.
“MacDonald was betrayed by those he had trust in, namely the brother, the priest, the policeman, and the clinical officer. These are positions of trust,” said the country’s public prosecutions director Steve Kayuni.
ustice Dorothy NyaKaunda Kamanga, who issued the verdict, described the killing as “a violation of the right to human life and the greatest violation of the rights to life and integrity for persons with albinism.”
Since 2014, Malawi has witnessed a wave of assaults against people living with albinism, as their body parts are extracted and used for rituals with the belief that they could bring luck and wealth.
The Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi, Father Henry Saindi, says the church was shocked at the involvement of a Catholic priest in the murder, and expressed hope that the killing of Masambuka “would help in establishing the underlying issues pertaining to the killings considering the cadre of personalities involved in the murder of MacDonald Masambuka, as besides the Catholic priest, a police officer and a medical officer were also involved.”

5:22pm Simply not true, the travelling community are proud family people and make good donations to clergy on the occasion of their sacraments. The Rathkeale travellers are so well regarded by the Roman Catholic priest that he performs First Holy Communion at Christmas for them.

Men make better parents it’s a fact. So two men raising a child is better than one. Women are too emotional and unstable and worry too much about nothing. I would rather have two daddies than two mummies. Even from the perspective – when you see a gay male couple, they tend to look after themselves better and take pride in their appearance and look clean. When you see a gay female couple they tend to be heavier or with harsh haircuts and rough.

It’s true though, I can vouch for it. My sister is a lesbian. Her and her partner are singing. I wouldn’t let anyone say a word about them, of course but family is family and I have been honest with them myself. They need to have a word with themselves and ditch the dungarees and shaggy hair.

This is such good news. The Catholics have tried to be so kind to the Latin and lace brigade, and got nothing but abuse back. High time they stopped it. When Cardinal Tagle is pope the trajectory of the true church will be fully implemented and the so called traddies can go to the SSPX where they should be anyway.
They’ve been accomodated in their rejection of an ecumenical council far too long.

With the increasing amount of autistic children in modern society it’s time we set up an area in church to put these children so as not to distract other parishioners. There’s this one child, sounds pure animal, that screams continuously and it’s very distracting.

Henry was ordained as recently as August 2020. Why do so many young priests get ordained and then leave a few years later?
LikeLike
@9:16. Some would say that it’s because they hadn’t the balls to quit thinking all doubts would be resolved after ordination. So effectively they allowed themselves to drift into ordination. I’d suspect many of them harboured doubts long before ordination.
And after the ontological change magic failed to live up to expectations and the con job intolerable reality of priesthood dawned, as the song goes …………”and another one bites the dust……”
I’m just thankful I quit before ordination, tho’ I do admit it was not easy at the time, in mid ’60’s long before the scandals broke and aul Mother Church was still highly regarded.

Parents ‘requested’ to pay €60 for child to make confirmation in south Dublin parish
A parent has complained that they have been “requested” to pay up to €60 for their child to make their confirmation in a south Dublin parish.
A woman, who was not named, contacted RTÉ’s Liveline programme regarding a letter which she received from the Sandyford Parish.
“It’s a new one for me, you have to give money to the catholic church to make your confirmation,” the woman said.

7.29pm: Sadly, the headlines by way of promotion by Joe Duffy were completely (deliberately) misleading. This story crops up every year! Parishes run support programmes by way of preparation for young people and families – FAITH FRIENDS or other similar support programmes. Most of the candidates sign up with permission of their parents. What is 60€ for? The training of parent volunters who act as “FAITH FRIENDS for the young people over a 4/5 week period. The leaders are trained under supervision of a facilitator. At the end of every night the classes receive soft drinks and “goodies”. There is much printing for work sheets for leaders candidates. Also, at end of programme a disco is held and often a trip is organised for all. I have never in 16 years have had any complaints from parents to pay 30/40 for the programme. It is not compulsory and if any parent cannot afford the cost, there is no issue. Also, children who attend Educate Together Schools and whose parents request sacraments are prepared outside school hours. This requires the help of one or two professional catechists, thus they must be paid. No one objects. I wish Joe Duffy would have these facts at hand. All he need do is phone the Parish Priest of Sandyford for information. It’s a non issue for 99.9% of parents. We get this item every year ariund sacramental celebrations. Usually the ones who make an issue are those who’ll pay €100’s for bouncy castles, fancy cars or horse drawn carriages!! Says a lot about their values. No child is ever refused 1st Communior or Confirmation on financial grounds. Never. Let’s not be creating misleading narratives and lying.
