Word on the Clerical Street says that Farrell of Dublin has come to a settlement with an insurer for what is termed “A CONSEQUENTIAL CLAIM” because of loss of church income due to Covid
Apparently all 26 dioceses have sued an insurer with DLF being the bare knuckle negotiator?
A source told the Blog: “Dermot has signed off for a one year pay out and a year two will then be claimed. Dublin will get millions. All 26 dioceses are in for big claims. The money will go to dioceses and will then be passed on to parishes – that’s if Dermot, being the money man he is, passes it on”.
Apparently, dioceses have hired the services of another insurance supremo to fight their case.
ANOTHER DLF FINANCE SCHEME:

PAT SAYS,
DLF is not a pastor. He is an operator. He is an EMS – an Ecclesiastical Mover and Shaker.
He is also a company man and a man who puts the RCC Mafia before all else.
Rare bishops desire to leave their diocese spiritually better after their reign.
DLF wants to leave Dublin and other diocese in the black after his “rain”.
There are all kinds of reasons why the RCC is in decline.
But one of the principal reasons is that the RCC’s clergy are wolves in shepherd’s clothing.
And wolves neither believe or pray.

Pat, if you are to genuinely analyse the decisions of Archbishop Farrell, it would be very useful to do a little research. It is also useful to be a little more intellectually rigorous. Since his arrival in Dublin the AB has reached out to priests and parishes in a very kind, caring way. If any company or organisation is to utilise its personnel and finances more prudently and effectively, then plans, vision and strategies are an absolute must. It is insulting and rarher spiteful for you to make such uninformed, shallow judgments anout Archbishop Fatrell. Personally, I applaud him for his leadership in engaging all parishes in a new pathway of renewal, ministry, service, parish leadership roles and a consolidating of resources among neighbouring parishes. His vision is very challenging but commendable. He is to date well respected by the vast majority of priests. Your denugratory sweeping statement that all RC clerics are wolves in shheps clothing is our role, dishonest and abusive. If you read intellectual political, historical or religious journals, you might be more educated to speak about the declune of relugious faoth and of irganised religions. Simple soundbytes are easy but shallow. As for the witness of prayer and belief and lighting the flame of faith anew, I’d turn my eyes to Drumcondra first than to Larne. Why do you feel the need to “down” every new initiative by Bishops? Why the constant need to denigrate all clerics? Incidentally Pat, the special Lay Ministry Collection In our Church today totalled €4,500. An amazing response after members of our Parish Pastoral Council spoke at all 5 masses. That respinse expresses parishioners support for Archbishop Farrell’s plans. God bless Archbishop Farrell, priests and all parishes in the Dublin Diocese. Pat, while you independently do much good pastoral work, I am saddened that you pour ice cold water on all our initiatives, efforts and ministry. A blog “source” is usually an unhappy camper, envious of being sidelined.. of which there are some in the Dublin Diocese who’d twist knives as you poured them a glass of wine….

Dearest Pat, Once again your all hateful agenda drives your response to this, as to every issue, regarding the church that has rejected you.
Archbishop Farrell would be remiss in his duties as a steward if he did not seek to claim benefit for the church from their insurers at a time of severe financial loss. If there was no legal entitlement to such compensation you may be certain that the Insurers would gleefully disclaim it. Each year the church pays millions in ensuring liability cover for all kinds of eventualities, this is normal prudent behaviour. It’s a bit rich for a maverick like yourself to seek to twist the story in the negative manner that you have attempted.
The Vintners Federation, as well as many others have already received handsome compensation for their losses, I don’t recall an attack on them from your poison pen?
Sometimes Pat your blind prejudice seems to defy rationality and logic and we are treated to the kind of diatribe as evidenced in this post, silly and unjustified and revealing of the dark movements of your mind. I will pray for you dear Pat. Now in your eight decade you should be preparing for coming face to face with the God who cannot be deceived.

Every bishop, without fail, is obsessed with money. So are their priests. That is their raison d’etre-to keep the coffers of the RCC business full. Anyone who believes that Christ is at the centre of their being is a fool. Christ is used just as their tool for raising money. They are a business and a ruthless one at it. Thank God more and more people are wakening up to them. Now that their control over people is weakened, they have become more devious in order to raise funds. They will use every trick in the book to cover up their misdeeds and if one of their number brings unwanted attention to them, they are dropped from a great height . They are the biggest bunch of charlatans that exist. Oh how I would love to meet those Christian brothers and priests that taught me. Absolute wicked bastards every one of them and to think I once held them in esteem.

The Archbishop of Dublin is concerned for priests and parishes. All of us who have met him have found him to be approachable, kind and ready to listen. His task as Archbishop is not an easy one but he is acting swiftly by way of Diocesan and parish initiatives. While the new projects and initiatives require much work at parish kevel, at least we are all working from the same templates of plans for renewal. One of the positive outcomes of these initiatives is the emphasis on Laity Leadership Roles in our parish communities. The annual Lay Ministry Collection will be a financial resource to assist with the “Building Hope” initiative. Pat, your reference to the Archbishop in such cynical and dismissive tones is contemptible and unnecessary. You should genuinely try to be more open to Archbishop Dermot Farrell and get facts rught before making skewed judgments.

This doesn’t sound right to me, just because it sounds extraordinary that any insurance company would be foolish enough to insure any concern to the extent you say from a natural event which would of course be unpredictable. The premiums for that sort of coverage would be colossal and I haven’t heard of any business getting an insurance payout for this.

Victims Are Not Guilty! Spiritual Abuse and Ecclesiastical Responsibility
(CHILE) Religions [Basel, Switzerland]
May 9, 2022 By Samuel Fernández
” The aim of this article is to show that victims of spiritual abuse are not guilty of what they have undergone and that, in the Catholic setting, the Church has an institutional responsibility for it.”…” Spiritual abuse in the Catholic context is the misuse of spiritual authority that controls the victim to the point that the abuser, taking the place of God, obstructs or nullifies the victim’s spiritual freedom. This type of abuse is perpetrated by an individual or a system supported by the Church as trustworthy. Hence, it always has an ecclesial dimension. This kind of abuse can harm the person at the spiritual, psychological and physical levels.” ” In conclusion, victims are not guilty of what they have suffered “… ” The Church, then, must guarantee that her representatives and structures—cultures, rules, statutes, teachings—do not foster abuse but care.”
