FORMAL OBJECTION TO THE ORDINATION OF STEPHEN WILSON ON SUNDAY 26.6.22.

LETTER TO EAMON MARTIN

The Man Behind the Mask!

Dear Eamon,

I wish to put on record a formal objection to the ordination of Stephen Wilson on next Sunday June 26 th 2022.

I make this formal objection on my own behalf and on behalf of the many people among the People of God to whom I have spoken and who have contacted me, including a number of Armagh priests.

Our objection is based on our conviction that this man is unsuitable for ordination as he does not have the moral fibre to be a priest and our conviction that he will cause much “admiratioamong the People of God.

We are particularly concerned about his ability to keep the Solemn Promise of Celibacy you will ask him to make on Sunday next.

Furthermore, we do not believe that those involved with his training have given you an accurate report of his suitability.

Nor do we believe that Mr Wilson himself has been totally open with you about many matters.

We are also seriously concerned about your own ability to judge who is or is not worthy of ordination – displayed by your behaviour in the many cases of priests who have caused grave scandal within your diocese and are now “missing in action” – MIA, or returned to ministry in an occult manner – Rev. Rory Coyle, Rev Eamon Mc Camley, Rev Ryan Mc Aleer etc.

There is something deeply troubling about your attitude to homosexually active priests – an attitude, in my mind, that can only come your own personal and internal conflicts.

That is why I am copying this letter to the Congregation of Bishops and the Congregation of the Clergy in Rome

I am not foolish enough to think that this letter to you will change anything.

But I wanted to put a formal objection on record so that when the inevitable happens you cannot plead ignorance or say you were not warned.

In the Name of Jesus Christ I ask you not to proceed with this ordination.

Your brother bishop,

+ Pat Buckley

Canon 277 of the Code of Canon Law (promulgated in 1983) states: “Clerics are obliged to observe perfect and perpetual continence for the sake of the kingdom of heaven and therefore are bound to celibacy which is a special gift of God by which sacred ministers can adhere more easily to Christ with an undivided heart and are able to dedicate themselves more freely to the service of God and humanity.”

I hope that you have sent a paper copy of this letter via recorded / signed for mail to + Armagh ? It is a strong objection, although I suspect that he will not heed it. I wonder if in addition you, or another, might be present at the ordination and make a verbal. objection at the point where the Archbishop will ask those responsible for his training if he is suitable for ordination ? That would have a very strong visual impact. Painful and awkward, yes, but it would make a very forceful point. My own sense is that this young man Wilson is not suitable for ordination, and that there are many questions to be answered about him. Actually, it is an act of charity to him to raise these questions, as well as an act of justice for the faithful. Nevertheless, I suspect that he will be ordained, but it will only be a matter of a few years before his name will appear here as having got himself in to trouble, or gone MIA, or something similar. There is an inevitability to that, I fear. So. many young clergy do not last the course, mostly because they should never have been ordained in the first place. Most bishops and formatters know this, but still put them forward and ordain them. The main issue is usually celibacy. I would think that the vast majority, indeed most, young clergy are not celibate, they are sexually active. Why then, do they promise celibacy ? They lie. They fool themselves, but they do not fool us and they do not fool God. Shame on them.

10:35 have these Bishops & Archbishops learned nothing from their follies of ordaining knowingly unsuitable clerics, Fr Ger Fitzgerald in Killaloe being a more recent example that comes to mind. The damage these clerics do to unsuspecting parishioners is irreparable and no amount of bullying language from clerics & their volunteers to victims of RCC related wrong doing in an effort to shut them up and hunt them off this blog or pursue & interfere in their daily lives in other ways is going to change that. I suspect Martin won’t even acknowledge your correspondence but then he knows damn well that Wilson is unsuitable for Ordination in official terms but we can all see that it’s the unofficial side that wins over with the cabal, they all birds of a feather & all in it together. Wilson is a fool to himself, he could have chosen a more authentic means to live his life and still do good for others. It’s difficult if not impossible to understand Wilsons own logic in this life choice that he is making, Eamon Martin is just making a management “bums on seats” decision & hoping hope against hope that it works out & as usual any parishioners or others damaged by deviant clergy & their cohorts will be vilified and will be hammered and retraumatised repeatedly to shut them up and censor them. That’s not what good Christians nor what any decent person does to anyone so why would anyone lay or with a vocation risk going anywhere near them. A dangerous toxic cabal obsessed with power and money. I hope Wilson will be ok but more so I hope he doesn’t hurt anyone but if he does, we all know he’ll have the full backing and support of the RCC cabal to vilify his victims.

Can I just point out that I do keep saying here that the church has learned nothing from the abuse scandal and keep getting screamed at.

Like

10:41
Maybe it’s because it is not an ‘abuse scandal’ but rather the exposure of the underbelly CULTURE of abuse in the church.

Like

Your daily reminder at 11:41 that the church has learned nothing from the abuse scandal, specifically that the culture of an organization and abuse scandals go together.
Mother of God these people are so thick.

Like

2:04
You are missing the point in your attempt to be clever. Scandals don’t last 35 plus years. Using terminology such as ‘abuse scandal’ is minimizing what is actually going on- the culture of abuse, corruption and crime is being exposed-not simply ‘abuse scandals’. It goes without saying, scandals are part of culture-this is worse for the institutional church-exposure of the intrinsic abusive cultural underbelly, not just another scandal. There’s far worse to come out. There is no need to be abusive in making comments by referring to people as ‘thick’.

Oh dear Pat, he doesn’t have to promise celibacy next Sunday, that’s a given. He only has to promise obedience. Is that why those priests of the Diocese are too scared to have balls and speak out but feel the need to hide behind your petticoats?

Whatever about the theoretical ban on gay men entering seminaries and getting ordained, in recent years bishops have become quite brazen in knowingly and publicly ordaining them. In Leeds, for example, Bishop Stock ranted during the ordination about those who opposed the ordination of Chris Butler.
In Westminster, Cardinal Nichols pressed ahead with the ordination of Alex Balzanella and an openly gay man is to be ordained for Motherwell shortly.
The RCC should be honest and say that it ordains gay men, and celebrate and rejoice in that, or stop doing it.

Well done, Bishop Pat. An experienced litigator partner at Dentons taught me the importance of creating a ‘paper trail’; even if letters go unanswered at the time, the chain is invaluable evidence in later proceedings. No matter what happens to Wilson, + Armagh is going to find himself in deep water in the future when Wilson, and others, revert to type and cause grave scandal. I suspect that + Armagh has a weakness for young men of a certain type, and while he is able to contain his own predilections and live like a big gay girl but avoid any sexual activity (partly because he isn’t a particularly sexual creature himself), little does he realise that these young gay seminarians are not like that and that they are rampaging around the place acting out their sexual preference with one another and elsewhere. Surely he should have learned his lesson with Roreeeee, but even there one senses he continues to support him and hope for his return. No doubt Roreeeee is stringing him along because of all the benefits that come from that. I’m sure that Wilson will have given assurances that he is committed to celibacy and that all will be fine. But we know from experience that the underlying orientation is so strong that it will overcome any intention of the will, and will do so in dysfunctional and toxic ways because it has to do so in secret and in the dark. This is a recipe for unmitigated disaster. Why does the Church and the likes of + Armagh not learn from past experience ? Their previous mistakes and those of their predecessors have landed the Church in very deep and criminal water in the past, and the same will happen in the future if they do not wise up.

My initial reaction in reading the email sent to Archbishop Martin was to have a sense that Mr. Wilson is undeserving of all the implicit sexual references and other related moral and spiritual indiscretions. Surely this is a witch hunt? However, there seems to be real concerns about the inevitability of this man. None of us is 100% perfect. We come with a rimen humanity on many.levels and we must caution against crushing others. Yet,It would appear that Mr. Wilson may not be ready just yet to take on the life of priesthood. Therefore because of much concern being shared publicly, i believe his ordination should be put on hold. I belueve many of the commenters so far are not the epitome of heroic virtue not anywhere her Christine living. Is it possible, I ask genuinely, for any person, deemed unworthy and unsuitable, to change sufficiently and be a reasonably good human being or a priest? Perhaps..

As evidenced elsewhere on this blog, you don’t care about victims of abuse, male or female. If you did you would not collude with the perpetrators of CSA by attempting to obscure the sad reality that its frequency isn’t diminishing. Pouring your bile on a subsection of society that represents less than 0.1% of the population raises the question of whether you have a vested interest in diflecting the spotlight from where it ought to be focussed. Resentment towards this small section of society based on its rejection of your application to join them is feeding your obsession and not helping you.

Like

@ 9.23. You seem to be saying that as clerics are only a small percentage of total population, @1:56 ought not fuss about CSA by clerics as their total numbers are few in relation to total population. 🤔 Is that correct?
If it is correct, then consider Sipe’s figures for the percentages of abusing clerics and the implications that these same clerics abuse is totally at odds with the “religion” they preach.

He was chatting up my friend and he knew who he was long before the “kinky” conversation. To be honest, I wasn’t shocked. However, he would talk to you as if he were an “expert” on everything. I mean, he evolved into this patronizing individual who was more interested in the upper echelons. He loved being the center of attention. So many of us witnessed his tantrums, that we just eventually decided to keep away from him from then on. I think many of us who knew Stephen would all agree that he is not someone that we would not trust, as he would gossip about others, quite demeaningly, behind their backs. It’s horrible to admit that, but it’s the truth, and sometimes the truth does hurt. I mean, both him and that Frank fella (he was studying music, I think) were alike, and it’s obvious that there were more than “friends,” if you catch my drift.
