POPE PIUS XII DID DEAL WITH HITLER TO BURN THE FILES OF GERMAN PRIESTS AND MONKS INVOLVED IN SEXUAL ABUSE.

FROM: NCR

https://www.ncronline.org/news/new-archive-findings-reveal-previously-unknown-talks-between-pius-xii-hitler

Cornwell said that in his view, the real “bombshell” to emerge from Kertzer’s essay is not regarding Pius XII’s negotiations with Hitler, but instead Kertzer’s uncovering of documentation that the Vatican ordered the burning of files regarding German priests who had abused children — an issue von Hessen raised during one of his visits to the Vatican.

“It is now clear that the Secretariat of State, then under Cardinal Pacelli’s direction, had indeed taken immediate action,” writes Kertzer. “A folder in the Secretariat’s files from the previous year is labeled ‘Vienna: Order to burn all archival material concerning cases of immorality of monks and priests.’ ”

ROME — New research from the Vatican archives appears to show evidence of previously unknown backchannel negotiations between Pope Pius XII and Adolf Hitler during the Second World War, although some historians cautioned that the findings do not represent a “paradigm shift” in understanding the Catholic Church’s wartime actions.

“No new finding has been as dramatic as the discovery that, shortly after he became pope, Pius XII entered into secret negotiations with Hitler, a story told here for the first time,” writes Brown University historian David Kertzer in a recently published essay in The Atlantic, adapted from his new book, The Pope at War.

The article chronicles a series of meetings between Pope Pius XII (formerly Italian Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli) and Hitler’s emissary, German Prince Philipp von Hessen, newly discovered after the 2020 opening of the Vatican’s Pius XII archives.

Kertzer, the author of several best-selling books on the Vatican, has uncovered transcripts of meetings between the two men, which include a series of cordial greetings between Hitler and Pius XII.

PAT SAYS

Pope Pius XII, like all RC hierarchs and clerics, was willing to sacrifice ordinary Catholics, and victims, to protect disgusting and lecherous priests and monks.

The protection of the so called good name of the RCC, and bishops and priests, has always been more important than non clerical, totally dispensable.

Catholic laity are simply clerical fodder.

The while ROMAN CATHOLIC INSTITUTION is an evil and not of Christ phenomenon.

In fact, at this stage, I think I have to say that it is more true to say that many popes were the vicars of Satan rather than the vicars of Christ!

Thank God, I only wasted the first 33 years of my life on the RCC.

And thank God, at the age of 33, through the machinations of the RCC hierarchs, I had a road to Damascus liberation from the RCC and for the first time in my life experienced what it was really like to have freedom of the sons and daughters of God.

ROME is the new Babylon for the People of God.

And I’m so glad to be in Larne instead of Babylon 😀

I literally just came across the idea (which I suspect you’ll like) called either Disney Princess theology or Disney process theology. It’s the continued and systematic framing yourself as the goodie in biblical stories (and I suppose other myths as well) despite being chronically or repeatedly in the wrong and causing stuff like this.
But then I suppose there’s many a priest who sees himself as a Disney princess.

Disney Princess Process Theology or (DPP) originated from ‘School of Pollyanna Theology’
which adopts the teleological position…. ‘it’ll be alright on the night’ …Omega point. 🤔

+Pat: Indeed as you say, you are free from RCC’S machinations. But aren’t you still wedded to the concept of an almighty creator God’s manifestation in Christianity?
The more positive moral values of Christianity are commendable, originating as they do from evolved ethical concepts. But their positivity adds no value in legitimising or validating their basic premise concerning a redemptive messiah who was/is also the sole creator God.
Professor Brian Cox’s programme a few nights ago on seeking evidence for past life on Mars puts a perspective on humanity’s self considered centrality to existence. Contemplating the evidence, and the millions of years and miles involved, from which to gain understanding and formulate basic propositions of life’s earthly origins seems more relevant than deciphering ancient biblical tracts from which to understand our existence and dictate our behaviour.

Well no actually, and it’s fairly well known that false accusations of sexual abuse against clergy and religious were common at the time because the Church was the main opposition to naziification. You have to read broadly on the era and area and not just the occasional historian that suits our preconceived notions. Just read any history of the period by specialists in the area and then use the bibliography to see other books. Kertzer is a particularly nasty in his anti-Catholicism. I can only imagine why.

Like

6.00am Is there any “anti-Catholicism” as you put it that people as yourself would not classify as “nasty?”

Like

10.33 well said, the definition of nasty we see every day in the vile & utterly vicious contributions made by clerics & their kathlicks on this blog. Many of them seem to have eating disorders & are also addicted to money, sex, porno etc & clearly they are utterly unable to control their stalking tendencies in order to block the truth of their multiple deviances. They don’t repent, that’s for sure. Holiday season for clerics fast approaching, will they take a break from the blog? It’ll be interesting to see what parts of the world they will pop up in this year, post-Covid etc.

Like

Thanks 10:33 and 11:11 you both expressed what I was thinking very well. We have a public duty to communicate that they see anything other than unquestioning submission as anti Catholicism and want dominance, not a fair share of the public sphere.
If you can legally express your opinions in public and legally practice your religion, you’re not being persecuted.

Not the first time there was a burning of papers/letters in the environs of Bishops House/Office in Mullingar. Lol, Lol. When Lenny RIP ( an Armagh Auxiliary) was dying, he burned himself ( by accident of course) while taking care of the fire he had lit to burn many papers/letters. Now with email, despite deletions, its always there somewhere, a salutory reminder that turning anything to carbon from the office is quite redundant.

Yes they conveniently forget that. When you do a deep dive you invariably find there are reports going well back. For example Jonathan West received accounts of abuse at Ealing Abbey going back to the forties.

Wherever there is or was power the institution of the Roman Church cosies up beside it. Its most recent waste product was the Cardinal Archbishop of Hong Kong who spoke against the Chinese-Vatican deal, to say nothing of the Belgian who has returned his red hat without ever wearing it. In the reverse, at its very origins, Constantine identified it as a way for his empire to cling to power; from that time the Roman institution called church has used the very same operative device to further and hold its power ( Lateran Concordat,Mussolini). Look at the countenance on the Montini face in that photograph.

11.32 Brady and his ” learning curve.” It might have meant something to the impressionable. He was lying, he knew and knows that the RCC, its bishops and officials have known for centuries that this was and is a reality/phenomena of a particular demographic of popes, cardinals, bishops and clergy/religious, sisters and nuns not yet come to light. They opened up St. Luke’s in Washington ( Stroud another)( Canada) and other facilities predating it so that percentages and profiles could be kept secret within the putrid institution. This was the reason for closing a John Of God facility in Dublin also, and “disappearing” its files. Think Suetonius The Twelve Caesars, its been far worse in the RC Empire . His interview along with Donnelly in Dundalk with that young victim and the questions they asked, odious but it disclosed much about their own makeup and the makeup of their kind. Many others who would have been interviewed have never come forward. Putrid. Entirely.

I am not in the slightest surprised to hear that negotiations / contacts such as reported here took place. The Vatican will have for years, and no doubt still does, have contact with odious people and regimes as they pursue their foreign policy / realpolitik. Any principle can be subverted by the need to achieve a presumed good end, they think. These things are still going on. We know a little about Pope Francis’ protection of certain bishops with whom he is connected / friendly, and there will in the future be some shocking revelations about that. As significantly, the foreign policy of the Vatican, in particular in regard to China, under Archbishop Paul Gallagher, an Englishman and a Liverpool priest, works on the same principles that certain things can be done which are morally and ethically questionable in exchange for a presumed good / gain. And so, in China, essentially the loyal Catholic Church of decades has been thrown to the wolves and subjected to the authority of the Chinese Government under the state controlled Patriotic Catholic Church. Never mind the hundreds and thousands of Catholics who have suffered and given their lives for their faith in that country over the decades. If it suits the exigencies and objectives of the Vatican at any particular point, they are quite happy to do a deal with the devil. Such it has been for ever, and such it will continue to be. So, I am not at all surprised to see this story about Pius XII and the Nazi Regime. In hundreds of smaller ways in diocesan chanceries decisions and actions like this will still be taking place. I am certain of that.

@9:50… which explains why in hundreds of diocesan chanceries appalling decisions and actions which took place in the past, and continue to take place, have many bishops quaking in their ecclesiastical boots, while legal eagles are coining it.

The RC response to clerical child sexual abuse is notably in contrast with the response of the German state, where the shoah originated, to prevent it happening again.
In Germany you literally can’t forget it happened. If you so much as mention their crimes to an RC they start ranting that you’re persecuting them.
This is why the scandal is so far from over. Significantly the frequent comments on here about old people, other churches, the LGBTQ community, etc would be stage four on the right stages of genocide (http://genocidewatch.net/genocide-2/8-stages-of-genocide/).

WARNING: This story contains distressing details.
” When James and Tony Charlie first arrived at Kuper Island Residential School in British Columbia, they were given identification numbers that would be stitched into their clothes and put on lists for chore duties.”…” Tom Doyle, a former priest who studied at both Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa, frequently speaks out on behalf of survivors of clergy abuse. He told CBC he wonders why the church continues to protect, shelter and employ those convicted of crimes. “They are a danger to the order,” said Doyle. “They shouldn’t be allowed to remain in the religious orders or in a diocese. They should be laicized because the excuse that we have the opportunity to monitor them, to keep an eye on them, to do all this stuff is a very weak one, because in practice that has not been very well carried out.”

What is most amazing about this is the fact that unlike the German government or people, the RCC has never come out with its hands up for its behaviour in WWII.

Germany has never denied or minimized what happened. They have published paper after paper and continue to do so. It is a criminal offense in Germany to deny the Holocaust occurred and people have been imprisoned for it. I am not giving them credit for this but generally speaking since the mid 60s they have been absolutely forthright in their shame and condemnation.

On the other hand the RCC is up there with the Japanese for denial. Rape of Nanjing? Never happened. Live vivisection on human prisoners in droves in Manchuria? Never happened. Appalling treatment of POWs, worst in human history? Never happened. Babies in septic tanks? Mass paedophilia? Selling babies? Never happened.

Truly the RCC are the Devil’s work.

Child abuse is the RCC deepest darkest secret – they have been committing it and covering it up for centuries – it’s a playbook every bishop sings up to – nothing new there – they will bang on about Safeguarding whilst continuing to abuse and cover up.
Dominic Lawson eviscerated Pope Francis yesterday in the Sunday Times and called out his duplicity regarding Ukraine and China.
Chinese Communist Party chooses its own bishops – the Vatican are desperate for diplomatic status in China and will pay any price especially if it means turning a blind eye to forced abortion and mass sterilisation and the human rights of indigenous Muslims of which 1.3 million are held in concentration camps.
The hypocrisy is dizzying and staggering and history (secular) will cast its own judgement on this pope while the church will very likely canonise him.
