IS AMY PLANNING TO SEND RYAN MC ALEER TO LECTURE AT CATHOLIC TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGE?

ST MARY’S BELFAST
MC ALEER

There is talk among the clergy that Eamon Martin has been thinking of sending RYAN MC ALEER to be a lecturer at St Mary’s Teacher Training College in Bekfast !!!

Ryan spent some time as the religious advisor to Armagh Catholic primary schools.

The clergy say that in that role Ryan clashed with a nun.

They also say that nun has Eamon Martin’s ear?

The Armagh clergy say that Ryan Mc Aleer prefers not to meet Eamon Martin on his own and brings people like the Vicar General Canon Eugene Sweeney to these meetings.

EUGENE SWEENEY

St Mary’s which is associated with Queen’s University Belfast has circa 1,000 students

Roughly 10 % of them are young males.

It is not appropriate to put Ryan Mc Aleer in a supervisor position over these students until the sexual controversies surrounding him are cleared up:

1. The series allegation that he sexually assaulted a young man and left injuries on his body.

2. The allegation that Ryan himself was sexually assaulted by Fr Emlyn Mc Ginn when he Ryan, was a seminarian in Rome.

MC GINN

If such an appointment happens I will place a picket on St Mary’s and make a formal complaint to Queen’s University.

as a past pupil of St Mary’s , this priest must not begin work with students until vetted and cleared by the proper authorities of any wrong doing .
As a teacher , he won’t be visiting my classroom unsupervised during teaching practice of students and RE observations .
Surely Peter Finn has the balls to stand up to Amy ?!!

What is the big lure that the RCC holds for all these destructive individuals & those that facilitate the destruction & peace of mind of countless victims & their families. Yes,that day SHOULD be over.
Posts which are publicly funded should be publicly advertised. It is disgraceful that such appointments are still governed by nepotism.

Like

If that happens and if anyone knows any members of staff there, the way to deal with it is for all staff eligible for the post to bring a collective grievance if it isn’t advertised and/or if their policies aren’t followed.
If it is advertised and there are interviews, it would be difficult to prove that an appointment has been made as a favour rather than on merit, because the documentation will certainly look right, even if it isn’t a representation of what’s happened.

Niall Coll is intelligent . He also has honour and integrity. I also knew two students of St. Mary’s from a parish I was once on appointment to, they had nothing but good things to say about him. Maybe he wanted out of St. Mary’s Belfast, if not I cannot understand why he is now a PP in Donegal. He would have been the best clergyman on the staff. They would never like the noise he made if he saw what was not right or proper, as his time in Rome when Brady reigned. I was present at Dublin Airport when Ledwith invited the three of us for coffee, Niall used the occasion to advise him how to run Maynooth. Sweeney, Coll and myself were awaiting the arrival of two American Jesuits ( one of them: sad story unfolded on what he had done: Acres was his name), Ledwith spotted us and came over and very politely asked “Off to Germany for the afternoon boys?” and then took us for coffee. Very personable always.

Coll is a tricky character. Gives the impression he is worldly but is rattled. Coll would sell his mother in order to have more of an influence in the RCC. He regrets leaving the priesthood and every day he knows this. I am a past student of Coll, he is devious and not to be trusted. He is a back room boy in the RCC and is close to Amy Martin. He has a network of boys who were his past students. The Vatican would be envious of the intelligence network he has. I use the word ‘intelligence’ to refer to a network of informers. Last time I was at a Tridentine Mass – in English – dressing for church meant a shirt with buttons and and not a T shirt. And socks in the sandals. Same shorts as usual (the only other pair would be in the wash) (long trousers in winter for over 11s). Coppers in the collection plate.
We were real, and religion was real, if we wanted it, how little we wanted it. The only theatrics was clergy revue (which I didn’t think funny, but I thought it funny that people thought it funny).

I blogged the other day about a tectonic shift in the 90’s as to the demographic of a seminary at that stage . Further formulating my thoughts on the matter; since then most seeking to be ordained are making a “lifestyle” choice rather than “responding to a call ” ( dubious too), the news is out among young men of a particular mindset and they seek entry to a seminary to suit their needs ( subconsciously perhaps ). They are not choosing priesthood, they want to be ‘priests’ because of its now innate dysfunction which they choose because they now “cause.” It happened in the 90’s. Stephen Wilson is the Zenith of this tectonic shift. WM

Those of us actually old enough to remember before Vatican 2 will remember that in some very go ahead parishes the liturgical movement engendered a style of celebration strong on prioritizing the actual liturgy, on singing the mass, on simple decorations and vestments and, yes, even in participation.
The revival of the old rite after Vatican 2 could have gone with this simple, liturgical approach, but the fact they went with the baroque approach…. Well, I’m thinking more Danny LaRue than Julian Clary personally.

Like

Ellard’s Mass of the Future (it’s on the internet archive) has examples of mass facing the people back in the forties. Vita et Pax church in London used to get the congregation singing compline every night quite happily, and consistently had dialogue mass, etc.
The problem is that these examples were the exception rather than the norm, so most laity also don’t know that the celebration of the old rite wasn’t always either a Verdi opera or a muttered race.
I don’t believe that the modern proponents of the old rite are unaware of this true history and their choice of the operatic style is very telling.

If this man was a layman working at that establishment already, and such things were being alleged about him and his behaviour, the authorities there would look at it very closely and would have taken an initial step of suspending him pending the outcome of the investigation, which if it showed any impropriety inconsistent with his role in the establishment would lead to him losing his job. But, I guess these clergy have a different mindset, believing themselves not accountable to lesser human beings since they are of an ontologically superior status ! Different rules apply for clergy. Pat I 100% agree a complaint should be made, but surely it would be under Italian police jurisdiction? What about the statute of limitations, if there is one in Italy?
Whatever about the cops Amy should be at least laicising Ryan’s attacker. If he can do that to a colleague in a public boozer how dangerous would he be out of sight? RCC what a bunch of mankballs

I wish to say categorically in all of this which I now no longer understand; Archbishop Eamonn Martin , himself, is of ” blameless life.” I suspect he does not know where to turn as these unconscionable individuals try to smear all around them. William Mulvihill

Those with “blameless lives” do not hide sexual abusers of any kind.

I don’t know whether Amy has ever had sex with any creature.

Blameless lives are more about purity of heart and mind that sex.

Pat at 5.12: I think you should moderate more discerningly the vulgarity of Mr. Mulvihill. Are you not concerned about the nature of what unfolding in his life?

Like

It is quite obvious these last few days that Bill Mulvihill was privy to much “abuses” of all kinds in the not too distant past. We’re always wiser and more knowledgeable in hindsight. For the past 25 – 30 years the mantra of advice preached to all priests was to “report” and “act upon” suspicions of abuses of any kind, particularly sexual abuse of minors and vulnerable people. Bill would have heard the same clarion calls. He surely wasn’t deaf to their serious implications. I want to ask him: Why, if you kept such records of abuses which you witnessed in Ireland, Rome or Australia, did you not then report to any authority? Why do you keep saying “he” or “they” should be reported to authorities, as you say of Rory at 1.15 and yet don’t do so yourself? Why did you wait till you left priesthood to be vocal about KNOWN ABUSES you were aware of? Your silence all through the years, like the silence of your past colleagues, is a damning statement about your lack of moral fibre and integrity. You, Bill, played “protect the system game”, no doubt very proficiently. Your silence while a cleric contributed to on going abuse of minors and vulnerable people. Why? Because, while you probably condemned abuses in your homilies, you did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE. Coward is the name of such people. Now, you are asking Pat and commenters to do your work: GO AND MAKE REPORTS TO THE GARDAI YOURSELF IF YOUR FILES OF 30/40 YEARS ARE RELIABLE while you ministered in Ireland, Australia and Rome and wherever else. GO….

5.31: Bill, when you are challenged to do the right thing – and you seem to have plenty of evidence and information to do the fighting – you respond with your threats. Why? Just read your own narratives for the past few days. Martin is only expressing the reality of what you’ve written. No more. Can you actually validate all the notes you have forwarded to Pat? When serious allegations are made about individuals we must be able to substantiate those allegations. Are you able, as Martin rightly asks of you, able to provide hard evidence to any authority? At 5.26 I notice you’re eating out!! If only meals could bring about “true metanoia!! If only!! Wouldn’t we be blessed?

Martin, I wonder if you could kindly tell us if you are aware of any serving Bishops or priests in ministry who are privy to “abuses” of all kinds which should be reported to authorities but may not yet have been reported. I wonder if this might be the case. I’m curious, Martin.

Brady was cunning and calculating. He could never be described as a ” Fucking Cunt.” I have nothing good to say about him as a Cleric, but I liked him as a human being. High praise from a person as myself. Donnelly was more culpable than Brady in it all.

5.56: The usage of horrible, vulgar words by you, Mr. Mulvihill is outlandish and unacceptable. Everyone is either “s**t”, a “f*****g c**t” or “putrid”. Your ugliness of expression is not a virtue to be proud of, but rather something which reveals the abyss of filth you’ve strayed into in your troubled mind. If a child behaved in this manner, he/she would be grounded. Thank God you’re out of harms way now that you’ve left ministry. If you want to impress and add something worthwhile to debates, your vulgarity negates all your horribly worded weird comments.

St Mary’s should be closed or reduce the admission numbers. Only a place for thick GAA players who do crap in their A Levels but still somehow manage to end up in St Marys doing RE or PE and if they fail to get in to those then there is the Donald Duck BA of Liberal Arts. St Mary’s churns out too many RE and PE teachers – many of whom are thick as sh1t but get through cause they kick a ball. Not enough teaching jobs for them but St Mary’s churns them out anyway

7.39pm Hear hear. What a well made point. Too many teachers who could not write their own name. Nepotism is alive and well. Catholic schools exemplify this well. If mummy or daddy is Principal, son/daughter becomes Head of Department. Certainly teaching contracts and promotions are based upon being a member of a closed gay network in many RC schools. Mid Ulster exemplifies this well. Rotten connections among several schools and this above closed gay network of professionals and clergy do exist; it is likely that the party will end abruptly. There is nothing quite like the truth, transparency and uncovering the mask from the ugly realities that are regarded as ‘pillars’ in our society.

It’s the same down south. Limerick only accept teacher training applicants whose parents are teachers, from the Gaeltacht or else like you said, GAA. Handful from minority groups for the Arts programme though. They look well on the prospectus

Like

There are far too many teacher training places in NI generally, what with St Mary’s, Stranmillis, UU, QUB and the Open University all churning out new teachers for whom there is little demand. Meanwhile other parts of the economy have skills shortages.

The teacher training colleges need to be massively curtailed. It is not right to keep on recruiting students and allowing them to run up debts for jobs that are not in demand in NI. The new teachers either have to do something else or end up as teachers in England.

Pat, it’s quite some time since MC was present on your blog. His almost permanent residence on your blog caused great distress to many for him personally and for the realisation that he was imploding with great anger, unwellness and drink related issues. However, you eventually barred him from your blog. That was wise as you had lost some good commenters. The same may happen soon because of W. Mulvihill. There is a cause for concern re: his erratic behaviour and insulting commentary. Think about it. He may offer reams of comments but it’s overbearing right now. Too much.

Bishop Pat,
You are to be commended on the stance you are taking against these individuals. You can bet they are hoping you will fade away and forget this all for another few months. What a wonderful feeling it is to know that we are on the cusp of truth, the calling out of wrongdoing, and full transparency. You have achieved this alone; an outstanding feat. Pat Buckley is not a joke. He is someone who listens, gives advice, is a true pastoral bishop, acts on what people tell him and calls out wrong. Thank you for standing up for so many of God’s children Pat, in the face of the beast which hurts them and continues to trample them: the Irish Catholic Church.
