ARMAGH PRIEST – ALL ARMAGH’S GOOD PRIESTS DEAD.

WASTER – ENABLER
THE VG – SILENCE?

FROM ARMAGH PRIEST:

“Pat, thank you for highlighting the wrongs of our church.

As a priest for over 25 years, I can confidently tell you that the majority of clerics are in it for the lifestyle, with no accountability,  from the top down.

I have heard of sad cases, up to the present day, and like yourself, have informers here and there.

What is going on in my diocese and in many others I am sure is appalling.

I spent time on the Council of Priests and was sickened to my gut.

The good ones are dead Pat.

It is now a collection of gay man who can’t spent the money of young families quick enough on their elaborately furnished parochial houses, Mercedes, Jaguar and BMW cars etc. I intend to retire soon.

As for the younger clerics in Armagh; well, from bad to worse. As a Priest, I call on the public to do the wise thing, cut the money supply and choke the monster.

Then we might see humility”.

PAT SAYS

Is it not very sad that a serving Armagh priest has had to pen the above words to me via my blog.

Those who write off ALL priests forget about today’s priest and proests like him who are totally disillusioned and almost at breaking point.

He is preparing to exit.

I hope his exit will be possible and good for him.

I would want to support him.

I’m sure others would too.

Armagh is famous since medieval times for its importance to Irish Christianity. It should be the Real Madrid of dioceses; instead it’s like a YMCA music video.

The vast majority of priests in Ireland are decent men doing sterling work for the the people of Ireland an everyone knows that . It’s very easy being a key board warrior spreading gossip an scandal. Long live the Roman Catholic Church.

You can’t both say ‘everyone’ knows the vast majority are decent and then comment on all the people saying they’re not. Especially saying these contradictory things using a keyboard that you deride.
Parents: this is what ‘catholic’ education will do to your kids.

Like

“Catholic education” is a rigid process of imprinting onto the impressionable minds of innocent and malleable children. Imprinting is a psychological term referring to an imposition onto one’s perceptions and consequent acquiesent acceptance as valid and true that which has been imposed/imprinted. The ” truths” being imposed by Catholic education are the beliefs and dogma of the Catholic Church.
The “educators” in this constantly repeating process, are typical of societies following beliefs which are under exposed to the objective analytical analysis such as is now available through social media and the societal changes which now publicly challenge formerly unquestioned “truths”. Such “truths” of religious beliefs are themselves products of this perpetual cyclical unquestioning acceptance of the imposed Christian understanding of humanity’s existence in the cosmos…………from a 2000 years ago time and very limited understanding of human existence.
Superimposed over this is a clerical caste focused on perpetuating their elevated status of power and privilege using the levers of hell fire and damnation to maintain their prime position as the only avenue to some imaginary salvation.
The greatly worrying thing is the level of criminally abusive behaviour to be found amongst those masquerading succour and salvation as part of their “Christian education.”

Can you tell us is there any level of criminally abusive behaviour to be found amongst those masquerading intervention and succour as part of their ‘social work practice’? Maybe social work educational imprinting prevents you from divulging if social workers fail to adhere to their professional code of ethics.

True words from someone who is very disillusioned. There are many others like him, but most of us just couldn’t be bothered saying anything as bishops and others in leadership don’t listen. The majority of those ordained since about 2002 should never have got as far as ordination. It’s as simple as that. They will ruin the Church. I am not just referring to sexual issues but also the air of entitlement they have and their sense of not having to learn because, as they see it, they already know everything. I belong to a rural diocese and we have half a dozen plonkers who think the rest of us know nothing. Middle aged and older priests have simply given up.

Don’t be dishonest. Priests are moral cowards, and almost entirely self-interested and self-serving. THIS is why they don’t challenge their bishops, not the reason you gave.

Like

10.02 Bishops are very spiteful when challenged in any small way however well justified. Many of tie Bishops of today would never have been promoted only for lack of numbers due to vocations crisis. It’s very difficult fir a priest to be up against a Bishop and his inner circle of lay & clergy watching you for him in your parish 24/7.

I agree. It is the fault of those responsible for formation in Maynooth and Rome for the past couple of decades, and of bishops for selecting manifestly unsuitable seminarians.

Forgive my cynicism but won’t this retiring priest be living off the money/monies of the young families he’s so worried about.
Or is he, as you would suggest, about to ‘exit’? If he is about to exit then why doesn’t he come clean and challenge those in his diocese that live lives contrary to the church and the gospel?

I don’t see how posting anonymously undermines my post. It’s not as if I’m making any assertions – I’m simply asking questions and valid questions to boot.
And, as this blog has established on many occasions, anonymous posts have helped get some stories out there. My point is that posts made anonymously dosen’t mean that they can’t contain the truth.
Respectfully, I find it highly odd and somewhat hypocritical that you point out my anonymous post while being anonymous yourself.
I get it though, since it’s abundantly clear that you are William M and couldn’t possibly be accused of hypocrisy and are above reproach you must have some ulterior motive for posting ‘anonymously.’

I wouldn’t support ANY priest.
The priest-subject of today’s blog willingly chose to serve an institution he KNEW was morally corrupt, through and through, and he remains in service to it, intending to retire only through personal disillusionment, not an attack of consciene.
This priest reminds me of the epithets accorded Albert Spier, Hitler’s armaments minister. During the Nuremberg trials, of 1946, Spier tried to present himself (to avoid the hangman’s noose) as a morally higher class of Nazi: a Nazi with a conscience. He was nothing of the kind. Yet, the Press gullibly dubbed him ‘the good Nazi’.

I saw it written on this blog earlier in week that the Church must be a lonely station for the small number of priests who are genuinely committed to their ministry. It must be very dangerous and difficult to function in such a corrupt organisation rotten to the core from the top down as we have seen in how senior clerics treat victims & shocked to learn that deviant clergy can remain on payroll for up to a decade whilst the allegations of abuse against them are investigated. No other job has that facility & thinking of the thousands of abuse victims who died waiting for justice. It’s downright disgusting.

Eamon’s new appointments are being held up by a PP who refuses to move (yet again). A sick PP wants a sabbatical which Eamon is reluctant to grant. An MIA priest is being gently enticed to make a return. A long serving PP wants to retire but Eamon wants him to continue as a CC if he wants provided with diocesan accommodation. Armagh is not the only Diocese where all the good clergy are dead. Their colleagues and lay replacements are totally devoid of integrity when it comes to covering up all manner of Roman Catholic Church related wrong doing.

Are all the good priests of Ireland dead? The deafening complicit silence-sinful omissions-of good priests to what is going on and what has gone on in the Irish church for years, is, quite frankly, shocking! A commentator mentioned priests make a promise of obedience to their bishop and his successors at ordination. Maybe this promise explains much, especially when bishops can ‘cancel priests’. Are priests compromised due to obedience to their bishops? It seems to me to be indicative of a form of co-dependency relationship of priest to institutional church, most likely created in seminary. This might explain why so many priests seem so immature on so many levels, including priestly narcissism, grindr obsession of some, and abuser relationships. I suggest, a seminary system which originated in the 16th century is not fit for purpose in the 21st century. A radical rethink on several levels is desperately needed. In my opinion, clergy, including bishops, are no longer credible moral authorities or authentic witnesses to the Gospel.

Like

The clergy issues that the seminary system were set up to address are now back and as bad as anything in the pre-Trent period. The Tridentine seminary model was dismantled in the 1960s and 70s, with catastrophic results. That’s how we can have a summer of love in Maynooth and grossly unsuitable candidates are ordained.

Yes, on one level they ARE suckers, and seemingly deserve to be fleeced, since there is available too much evidence against romanist priests these days for them not to know better.

But, on another level, I actually sympatise with them. Not much, granted, but I do sympathise … a little, at least.

They have been trained like … well, like sheep, really … to do as they are told, when they are told, and however often. This level of compliance is psychologically impossible to achieve without the dual mechanism of personal reward and punishment, running on the fuel that priests (in particular, the episcopate) are, effectively, the reincarnation of Christ. The mindset this creates in ordinary Catholics (a delusional one) is extremely difficult to dismantle, since its construction begins in very early, uncritical, and much more malleable, childhood; such structures tend to endure.

I cannot overstate the absolute importance for parents today never to allow their children to be educated in romanist schools. There is no other way of avoiding the risk of succumbing to such a pernicious, priestly influence.

Presumably the arresting officer and the crown prosecution service believe McCann has a case to answer for voyeurism. You need at least 50k to start off libel proceedings – Is Amy going to use diocesan funds. Exactly was a priest doing in a Lady’s loo – or was it a non binary loo?

Due to covid and the backlog of cases at the court the Crown prosecution Service is only taking cases to the court where they think they will get a result so they must be prety positive.
I would imagine McCann will be paying his legal fee’s himself or a loan from the dioceses as dioceses are not allowed to pay legal fee’s.
If he is found guilty then Archbishop martin will need to start a Canonical trial if McCann does not resign.
As being in a ladies changing area I would imagine he will be saying he thought they were unisex so the CPS will be getting store signs ect.
I would be shocked if he is back in a parish.

Parish Finance Councils control the expenditure in parishes and accounts sent off to diocesan offices for audit.
What father decided to do with his salary that is up to him although he will get traveling extences of around 45 euro’s / pence for pastoral work.
Dioceses or parishes do not suppy cars they are on contracts or HP maybe with diocesan loans.
Bishop Pat cannot play the angel as he will claim his motoring / traveling costs like everyone else and is entitled to.

Accountants, lawyers and property professionals rub their hands when instructed by the RCC as they don’t quibble over fees. I’d fall off my perch to discover anyone of them offering their professional services pro bono.

Like

@4.36 you are deliberately posting “out of context” in an act of deliberate diversion. Of course there are transactions where professional fees are paid – that is a separate context – and then there is the other issue of repeat scenarios of church property being undersold or alternatively too much paid on purchases.

@2.40pm Yes, that’s stick to the facts of McCann’s case as you say. Can you enlighten all of us of what his defence and prosecution said at his last court appearance?

I can assure anonymous I am not a reverend anything. Let’s wait for the facts of the case to come out shall we. Oh and just because the CPS think there’s a case to answer doesn’t make him guilty. Surely there’s been enough miscarriages of justice in Ireland over the years to make you realise that much.

What’s very noticeable on this blog is the amount of commenters who are very well versed in the sub culture of the gay lifestyle. They seem to know every by-way, bush, tree and sand dune where “gays” meet. They are kniwledgeable of the location of all gay clubs, houses ane venues – from Belfast, Derry, London, Manchester, Dublin, Leuven, Rome, Paris!! They know all the (bang) gangs and seem all too knowledgeable about homoerotic, sadistic and masochistic activities and are often pornographic in their comments. These gay ex-clerics and seminarians are a threat – they could spill the beans. A priest would be stupid to accept episcopal ordination unless he is clean. I know a guy in a prominent seminary role with several former lovers and his visits to gay bars whilst a seminarian. If he is nominated as a bishop wouldn’t hesitate to pass the information to Bishop Pat.

Dear readers of this blog:
The behaviour of Mr R McAleer is totally shameful. The Parish of Dungannon, and its good loyal faithful know all too well about his ‘active’ lifestyle. He often flaunted his gay lifestyle in front of them. At wedding receptions he would ‘partner’ up; at fundraising after-parties often he would tell of how he was leaving the priesthood because “he was being bullied within”, later to be spotted with a male ‘companion’. Ryan’s bullying claim is and was a nonsense. Several ex-partners have come forward. A political party, a country music ‘celebrity’ all in the mix. I’m afraid the truth will come out.
It is true his family are the real victims in this – among others of course. He has damaged the good name of a significant number of his fellow priests who are genuine, although this number is rapidly falling. If one wants to lead a lifestyle such as this, then first, leave the priesthood. Be a man. One might regain a little respect.
We are not amused with the poor leadership shown by Archbishop Eamon Martin in this matter. But we must pray for Ryan, the Archbishop and all those suffering because of this snowballing disaster.

Dungannon Parishioner
I have no doubt you are sincere so I am not going to say you are however I can assure you that either you or Ara Coeli is not economical with the Truth.
So as I understand there is nothing about Ryan McCann at Ara Coeli that would stand up in a canonical trial so the Archbishop would lose and it would cost the archdiocese opf Armagh a few quid as for any clergy or parishioner contacting Ara Coeli that are all saying “just saying” do not quote me that is NO use for the Archbishop.
You mention poor leadership and that is your veiw so if you parchased something and it was wrong you would speak to the manager (Archbishop) and still no satisfaction then it is the HQ you would go to and in this situation it is the papal Nuncio’s office who will send it to Rome.
Be rest assured Papal Nuncio’s are not interested in Diocesan Bishop they are appointed by Pope Francis and it is him they serve.

@4.37pm Stephen Wilson will obviously be covering for Canon Benny Fee in Clonoe. Will he stay overnight in the Canon Fee hotel, sorry, Parochial house. I very much doubt it as Armagh clergy plus other diocesean priests don’t like supply priests staying over. They are afraid what they might find. Now that’s another story. I hear Benny like others in Armagh isn’t that generous with stipends. He doesn’t believe, like the Lord, the labourer deserves a good wage.

@8.35pm Joe Quinn is not laicaised which begs the question? Brady, to be fair, wanted him gone but Eamon told him recently to wear his clerical garb at a family funeral. What is Eamon up to? Fellow Armagh clergy were aghast about Eamon’s decision on this matter!!
