JOE MC GUIGAN WHO LEFT THE PRIESTHOOD IN BELFAST IN 2003 AND AFTER A GAY SCANDAL AND RUMOURS OF THE HURT OR DEATH OF A YOUNG HOMELESS MAN AFTER THE PRIEST DEMANDED SEX FROM HIM – WAS SPOTTED YESTERDAY MORNING IN CLERICAL DRESS IN BELFAST!

FROM SATURDAY 6 th September 2014
DID A YOUNG MAN IN BELFAST LOSE HIS LIFE TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

DID A YOUNG MAN IN BELFAST LOSE HIS LIFE TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?
——————-
IF THE STORY BELOW IS INACCURATE I INVITE ANYONE WHO KNOWS THAT – OR ANYONE INVOLVED OR MENTIONED IN THE STORY TO LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY.
I WILL CORRECT ANY INACCURCIES AND APOLOGISE.
IF ANYONE HAS ANY OTHER EVIDENCE I WOULD BE HAPPY TO RECEIVE IT.
——————–
Father Joe McGuigan
The story is this and many people in the Lower Falls and beyond KNOW this story! McGuigan had left the priesthood at the time having, as Bishop Pat says, successfully portrayed himself as a ‘victim’ – quite an incredible feat in itself (Don’t Go Fr Joe, candlelight vigils and all, with good people like Loney Granny having been sucked in by the whole charade of Joe McGuigan as the ‘Mother Teresa’ of the Lower Falls).
Monsignor Tom Toner
A young homeless man went to the now ex-priest McGuigan desperate for accommodation. McGuigan, now being employed in charge of the St Peters homeless centre, told the lad ‘if you don’t have sex with me, I will see to it that you never get a flat anywhere in Belfast.

The young man agreed to sleep with him. Later, feeling bad, he went to the police who advised if he pursued it would go public. The young man didn’t want his parents and girlfriend to find out. He took his own life. He left a suicide note.
FATHER HUGH KENNEDY

That note was shown to Hugh Kennedy who turned on his heel and walked away after reading it.
McGuigan, an unscrupulous sex pest + a vulnerable, desperate young man = tragedy!
There is also the question of finances and McGuigan blaming it all on a local woman.
McGuigan was ‘quietly let go. He is now a ‘Pizza boy’ somewhere up the Road. The whole episode of his ‘coming out’ was paid for by the bishop to a very expensive PR company here in the North – a fortune was paid to ‘manage’ Joe’s shock-horror ‘I’m gay!’ announcement as if we didn’t already know all about his fun and games”.
PAT SAYS:
I kinda laughed recently when someone mentioned that the diocese of D&C was going rehabilitate JOE MC GUIGAN.
He is 19 years out of ministry and is now 54.
He disappeared after he published a photo of himself and others at A LEATHER AND LUBE NIGHT in Dublin by a NI gay group called MEN OF THE NORTH.
As a curate in St Peter’s Cathedral he had specialised in being the cathedral’s flower arranger and in cooking Duck a la Orange for famished clergymen.
He had adopted two senior altar boys and was treating them to tailored kilts in Glasgow and designer clothing in the very expensive Browne Thomas store on Dublin’s Grafton Street.
The above story of the young man began to circulate.
Another story was that he got a job in the homeless centre after he left the cathedral and was found In flagrante delicto with a young man by the homeless centre supervisor.
SUITABLE FOR MINISTRY?
Joe left in 2003 – 19 years ago. He was a regular on the GRINDR up until at least 4 years ago and a regular on the gay scene.
He left over being involved at the extreme end of gay activity.
He misbehaved with at least one young homeless man.
There were financial questions.
WHY, AFTER ALL THIS TIME CAN HE BE REGARDED AS SUITABLE FOR MINISTRY?
What is going on in Down and Connor?
What is Noel Treanor thinking?
Will we soon see FATHER BRENDAN SMYTH dug up from the grave and being placed in an alcove in a cathedral dressed in a golden cope and being pronounced patron saint of irish Catholic Primary Schools?

Can the RCC get any more outrageous or perversely absurd than it is already?

Please can you explain the circumstances of the photograph of Joe on clerical attire – is this some kind of funeral , wedding etc?
Is that Paddy Mc Caff as the priest beside him ?
Are you seriously suggesting or incredibly evidencing that Joe really has a role in D & C as a priest ?
Pat, please explain in plain English as my heart is pumping at thought of such low depths

A relative, maybe? Even so, if he has not been dismissed from the clerical state, then he must be on administrative leave – and the rules are clear, I.e. No clerical dress and not to present yourself as a priest. He needs to get back on his moped and deliver his pizzas.

Pat ,
Perhaps Sunday world can investigate if we can’t get a straight answer as to why 19 years later he is in clerical dress . At the funeral , did he concelebrate ? If not , why the collar ??
I note the name of deceased was Mc Guigan and perhaps a family member – but that aside , what is going on ?
Can you please go to find out now that you have broken the story ; or share with a journalist .
As always , and same with Ciaran Dallat and his return at chrism mass , the D&C mafia just brazen it out and don’t care about us .

Dear Bishop Pat, Fr Paddy McCafferty was raped by Fr James Donaghy when he was a young seminary student. He looked about 12 when he was subjected to severe sexual assaults as a young man. Stop allowing degenerate homosexual priests, like Mulhall, to post mischief about him online. I am familiar with his story because when he came to Poleglass we thought he was an altar boy. The reason churches discourage people from leaving spouses, even abusive ones, is then they’ll get the strength to leave the church.

If the RCC has to resort to resurrecting total creeps like Joe McGuigan to active ministry to keep the show on the road, then it demonstrates that it’s in the last through of death, desperately gasping as the inevitable approaches.
What I fail to understand is how McGuigan managed to go 19 years without being removed from the clerical state. English dioceses used Pope Benedict’s fast-track administrative procedure to get priests like McGuigan off their books. So, therefore, if any misconduct comes to light in those unsupervised 19 years in which he was still a priest, I am sure the church will have no problem digging deep to compensate potential victims.
The diocese needs to reconsider its approach immediately. I hope the press picks this up.

Personally, when I saw it, my body went into shock as it evoked memories of my abuse at 13 years of age for a two year period …Whatever it is about this man’s face…Can his photo be removed? ..But the “former” priest should not be reinstated on the evidence do far. So A priest moved to the side out of public view Nineteen years ago due to connections to death of a homeless man who was sexually abused by priest when he sought shelter and later committed suicide & left a note, same priest also connected to Financial irregularities clearly retained his close connections and had an ongoing friendship with RC hierarchy whilst he continued his gay dating app activities on Grindr etc & has now been reinstated. All the more reason why the provision of updated published information is essential & if RC keep refusing to provide it, police authorities must do it in interests of public safety. The current situation represents an ongoing danger to the public safety of all particularly children and vulnerable adults.

I do see what you’re getting at but this isn’t a police matter as it stands. Unless they are reported missing as such, a private citizen has a perfect right to vanish off the radar, so what is needed is legally to stop priests being private citizens.
Jurisdictions could consider changing the law so that ministers of religion and all paid and voluntary workers have to be registered which would then provide a handle on where they are. This wouldn’t be that different from the way health professionals are registered for the protection of the public.
If there is the slightest suspicion (such as there is about the priests who appear here) they could be tagged so their whereabouts be known.
I also think states should forensically audit the church’s books – current accounting for charities is too vague and would leave out assets like the disastrous London property investment.
LikeLike
First, I am opposed to a state register of priests akin to doctors, solicitors and accountants, as it only makes sense if they are independently regulated with the power to strike off. Secondly, priests are not professionals and never will be. The state must never recognise them as anything other than private citizens.

Or the murder of the Sister of Marcy Margaret Pahl by Fr Gerald Robinson?
Keepers is ostensibly about child abuse and two intrepid but persistent parishioners to uncover the truth of the murder of their teacher a religous sister.
The murder of Sr Pahl involved a Satanic Ritual by Fr Greald Robinson who stabbed her 32 times in the shape of an inverted cross and penetrated her with a crucifix.
The murder was covered up for 20 years by the Toledo diocese – Robinson was jailed for 15 years and died in prison.
Both stories reveal that the Catholic Church is capable of murder, satanic ritual and high level crime.

Canon Unctuous,
I’m sure anyone who has already experienced what you have appreciates your apology but also knows that you have been the victim of a confidence trick.
This takes the form of the church saying that it is the holy, divinely appointed means of grace, which is the front the punter believes and buys. It conditions you to discount the relentless international criminality which goes on behind the front. And the poor victim discounts the reality because the con has conditioned them.
Coming at it cold, you would think the holocaust of innocent children would be enough to make the reasonable man see the church for what it is, and unfortunately most people only realize at a particular point, like you have, where the front is shattered.
You will probably be feeling guilty and betrayed, but the trick is not to forget your realization and let it inform what you now think.
Because from here you will be seeing things quite differently and seeing more problems which you previously discounted.
This is what it’s like when you realize what the cult has done to you, and the reason its damage of lives is never ending and it is so dangerous.

Ask the Holy Spirit who dwells in your heart to give you the words that your Church needs to hear.” – Tom Deenihan.
Dom Benedict Andersen was not afraid to share his pain or to articulate that which he sought from the Ordinary of the Diocese. The hypocrisy of Tom Deenihan to retaliate against the victim is absolutely scandalous and morally reprehensible.
“National Novena to Our Lady of Knock: Sunday, August 14th at 3pm
Guest Homilist: Most Rev Tom Deenihan, Bishop of Meath
Theme: What is Christian Hope?”
If Tom Deenihan proceeds with his speech tomorrow, is it further proof that he does indeed have a brass neck?

Tom served as secretary to the Bishop of Cork and Ross prior to his appointment as the Bishop of Meath.
An audit of child safeguarding practices at the diocese of Cork and Ross found that 26 priests had allegations of abuse made against them between 1975 and 2011.

Who initiated/carried out the audit, Seamus?

7:37, of the 42 allegations included in the diocesan audit returns and submitted subsequently, 12
could not be categorised in terms of time taken to report. In some cases this was because of incomplete dates provided by the diocese.

That Fr Brendan Smyth looks pure evil on that photograph, he’d frighten the wits of an adult never mind a little child. Look at his expensive looking teeth, the dentists must love the clergy with their pots of money for fancy teeth.

Would the man who celebrated the funeral mass be Fr Brendan Beagon from the neighbouring Holy Spirit?

I wasn’t trying to cause trouble. I was merely asking a question. How can a question cause trouble?
I know those parishes well but it’s been a while since I’ve been there and I remember Fr Brendan vaguely – that’s why I asked if it was him and NOT stated that it was. Apology accepted.

Are you kidding me? Clergy have God awful teeth and halitosis a condition inimical to the celibate state.
If only they spent their money on good dental hygiene but alas they don’t.

I remember Joe gadding about Maynooth with a hot off the presses copy of ‘A Brief History of Time’ when it first came out, and one of his classmates saying that there was no way that Joe would be able to understand it.

In 2003 according to the Irish Times, cynics predicted there would no return to active ministry, even if Father McGuigan wanted it. He had broken the 11th Commandment, “Thou Shall Not Be Caught”.

7:37. You won’t apologise. That’s ok I’ll let you persist with your wilful ignorance. Did you try to belittle or challenge the person that said it was Gabriel Lyons? Would you make the same remark that his name was only mentioned to stir up trouble for him?
And it makes me wonder – why you are so insistent on my tying to stir up trouble. Is it that you know something about this priest that might not be wholesome? Could you be that priest.
Either way, you are clearly intent on finding offence when non was given or intended.

And for the record – I do not know Fr Brendan at all and bear him no I’ll will.
I’ll say it again – readers were speculating who the celebrant might have been – I offered a suggestion – which one reader was able to tell me, respectfully that he’d since retired. Debate and speculation over.

You do not know him at all- and yet you had no problem putting his name out in public on this blog- idle speculation. I repeat- you are a troublemaker.

Just to be clear – I do not know Father Brendan at all. I do not bear him any ill will. I was merely responding to speculation as to who the celebrant might have been. There was no offence intended.
The blog is about wether Joe McGuigan is returning to ministry as a Catholic priest? So on reflection, idle speculation about who the main celebrant might’ve been doesn’t add anything to the debate.

When you asked your provocative “digging for dirt” question about Canon Beagon you knew fine rightly that he was long retired. Disgraceful.

Totally agree. The celebrant is not the big issue. It is all speculation as to who has been photographed with a priest’s collar. Anonnymous is really the buffoon. Not you!
