MESSAGE FROM MAYNOOTH / KERRY – “WE WANT MORE TWINKS TO BREED”.

THEY ARE GOING LIKE LAMBS TO THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE!

Above is the new vocations poster for Kerry.

Can you not see what they are saying in this poster?

They are saying:

We want guys between the ages of 19 and 25

We want those guys to be slim and twinky.

We would like them to be gay or even bi and have a cute smile.

Ideally they should be well hung.

Ideally they should be versatile – able to top or bottom.

They should be able to keep their sexual activity with professors priests and occasional bishops, totally secret.

No educational qualifications needed – in fact, the thicker the better if good-looking.

Immaturity is not a problem and can be a plus.

BUT THIS IS WHAT KERRY AND MAYNOOTH HAVE BEEN GETTING RECENTLY

PRIESTHOOD

IS IT YOUR CALL

PRIESTHOOD

IS IT YOUR CALL?

http://www.dioceseofkerry.ie

Any young man, of even half reasonable goodooks, will be bedded and “bred” by his fellow seminarians and priests, if not in his first few day’s, certainly in his first few weeks.

A CALL FROM A YOUNG MAN

Within the past couple of weeks I had an out of the blue telephone call from a young man on a bus on his way to the Roccrea Cistercian Abbey come and see weekend.

He rang me as he travelled through Portlaoise.

He was worried about whether or it he would be safe in Roscrea.

I strongly advised him not to near Roscrea or any other religious house or seminary.

I told him that his safety could not be assured.

He then asked me should he go to the Youth 2000 retreat in Kildare being presided over by Phonsie & Co.

Again, I told him not to near it.

He has not been in touch since and I do not know what he finally did.

Either way, I hope he is OK.

No young man is safe going to any seminary or religious order at this time.

Apart from the fact that he is likely to be sexually seduced, he runs the risk of losing his faith in God and becoming one of the increasing number of victims of the RCC and its seminaries and Religious Orders.

On the other hand, a sexually active gay man with a doubtful vocation, could go to a seminary and an order and get more sex than he could elsewhere, be guaranteed a good care free life, free bed and board, an acceptable salary and more perks than he could ever dream of, and be expecting to have social status.

I believe that currently, it is sinful and morally irresponsible, for a priest or anyone, to encourage a young man to enter the Catholic priesthood.

And, I don’t know if it ever will be safe again for a young man to take that path.

Chris Ferguson (ordained 2002) was the vocations director (!) and James Devine (ordained 2003) has been in and out of the diocese like a yo-yo.

Can you double check the years of ordination? 2003 is way too far back for that young buck.

James was assistant director of formation for the Marian Missionaries…
Both directing the discernment of younger men… both now appearing confused on their own direction. Just like Donal O’Neill and 10 years later there was a lot of suffering. History repeats as the church doesn’t learn

What do Roman Catholic priests do all day? Apart from spending a lot of time on this blog, masturbating, looking on Grindr for a hookup, pornography surely must be perused part of the day. Presumably eating a meal, or visiting someone else who cooks a meal for them. I doubt if prayer is takes up too much time. How exactly does a Roman Catholic priest fill his day? Is it not time for them to become part time religious leaders, and, find a employment in secular society at other times, thereby connecting with more people than they ever will sitting in their little empires.

James Devine also said that he was taking leave to deal with and heal from the hurt that had been caused to him and others during his time in America. He’d suffered at the hands of others.

Spot on.
The vast majority of priests are not required for full-time ministry. The minority who are should be financially supported by their (dwindling) congreagations; the rest should find at least part-time paid employment.
The time for priests to cease sponging off hard-working families has arrived.
I no longer pay the monthly stipend to my parish, since I know that the priests in it have very little to do all and every day, and should, therefore, be out working like everyone else.

Like

Reality of course is young men joining the priesthood these days are way more religious and catholic than the days when there were loads of men joining the priesthood. One of the conclusions of the recent , admittedy suspect, Synod was that young priests were too conservative. They take their faith too seriously. This is true because they are joining for the right reasons. The future of the church is in the laity . You dont need priests in every parish . The future of the church is in committed lay people, men and women with a few priests in each county .

Like

Appointed Laity are currently not required to practice what they preach by their Bishops & Clergysays:

12.08 the conduct of the laity replacing clergy must be reflective of what is preached in the Church. This is most definitely not the case in many communities. These 2 things are not separate and there won’t be successful replacement of lost vocations if this isn’t addressed. The public are not going to accept the local Sunday Holy Joe & Mary out screwing the neighbours in various ways Monday to Saturday. Not on, won’t be accepted. No surrender.

Like

Are you suggesting for one instant that the clergy’s behaviour matches the teaching of the church they represent?
I have a shock for you. 😂

10.19 know what you mean, there’s an guy in the local church that spits “we are good people” in the most menacing way, at the slightest hint of question. It’s like “I’m telling you black is white and because I’m saying it you must accept it! What a Nazi.

Like

Bishop Pat, I am vehemently concerned about the danger presented by the church of Rome and consider it a duplicitous, criminal organization. But despite that, I can’t agree with your reading of that poster.
I would read it as being put out by probably older men who want to appeal to younger candidates by trying to make the priesthood look young, hip and happening.
I wouldn’t personally get a sexual message from that beyond a possible incidental one, if someone found the man attractive.
I think this is in a long tradition of similar attempts to make priesthood look cool, such as the campaign in England saying ‘Some things in black and white make sense,’ a spin on Guinness advertising.

Like

It’s unfortunate when they choose pictures like that for vocation posters. It’s so cliché. I wonder how many who enter seminary do so because of posters of that kind. As for a preference for “a certain type” I think all God’s creatures have a place in the choir. The danger with religion is the claim that only certain types belong or certain types will be saved. There is great comfort for the side which gets to moralise or condemn or call others out. Usually the clerical caste. I wonder how much of that might be going on at ambos this very weekend. Shame that’s all some preachers can muster when people deserve so much better. “Then people will come from east and west, from north and south, and will eat in the kingdom of God.” God’s dream for the kingdom. All have a place here.

To answer a question on the blog yesterday. A side was not a typo. It’s a term for a gay man that neither puts his penis in anus or receives a penis in his own rectum.

Like

Thank you for the explanation. I’m a side too, then (though I’d not heard the term before), though I don’t think there are many gay men like me. I’ve experienced a lot of intolerance and abuse on Grindr about my preference. And I don’t condemn or look down on people who are different from me on this.

Like

Pat, leaving aside your interpretation of the young man’s photo, which to me, is a wrongly chosen photo and image. I think your attributing your sexual gay prototype is regrettable as it does not deal with the real substantive issues about Church, priesthood, celibacy, ministry, women and the lay faithful. Those of us of the late 70’s early 80’s vintage have ascertained a long time ago that there’s something amiss in today’s Church and priesthood. We have engaged in much analyses frequently. We are spiritually tired at diagnosing, at analysing, at creating expectations but we never seem to get anywhere new or meaningful. Those who still feel genuinely drawn to ministry as a priest keep going, trying to be hope filled and positive but we know time is against us. We endeavour to be faithful to traditions and the teachings and to Christ and live what we are called to live. So much corruption, abuse, leadership failures have all destroyed our moral and spiritual integrity and relevance, moreso since the pandemic. We are losing once very loyal parishioners. I cannot encourage a young man to enter for priesthood unless he has some years out in the world. The great moral battles have been lost. All of them. The next will be euthanasia and the removal of church involvement in schools. Many American religious teaching and medical Sisters have readjusted from their active apostolates to now working with the poor and marginalised and are active advocates for housing and also work in organisations trying to prevent human trafficking. They are an inspiration in how they discern new challenges long after they retire from their previous areas of works. Our Br. Kevin stood aside after 50 years looking after Dublin’s poor and homeless. His ministry is where most of us should be at: with the forgotten and down trodden. Maybe then we might just regain a truer sense of ministry and mission in the name of Christ. This objective won’t be achieved by navel gazing at the slim, young, cutey poster boy for the Kerry Diocese.

Remarkable indictment on the dark underbelly, the covert or even occult motive behind vocation campaigns, seminary training and the Catholic priesthood itself.
Basically the message isn’t lock up your daughters (although, of course, convents are the same) but your sons because they are sexual fodder for predatory homosexual behaviour or a playground for sexually active homosexuals.
Against a backdrop of popes insisting that the homosexual orientation is intrinsically evil and such candidates should not be considered for the priesthood.
Whereas the truth is they are just what they are looking for: they are, in fact, ideal, the perfect candidates.
What must be frustrating is 50 years ago this was among several best kept secrets whereas today the genie is out of the bottle – the Roman Catholic priesthood is a truly homosexual profession – run by homosexuals and dominated by rather nasty and (ironies of ironies) homophobic men.
It’s a delicious and tragic reality which I fear post Constantine has always been the case and into this mix, obviously, are a unhealthy plethora of child abusers and paedophiles.
Truly a recipe for disaster – dizzying hypocrisy and a cauldron of immortality and evil masquerading as angels of light but really agents of the dark.

This blog entry makes me think of the quality and motives of Vocations Directors.
In Birmingham for example they had – Eddie Clare (just got up and left) and Paul Moss (now in Rome) and more effete and flamboyant by the day!!
What on earth is that all about?
How many young men have tested their vocation only to be seduced or hit on?

8.06. The adjourned Court Case of Shopping Mall Snapper Fr Aidan McCann requires the closest of monitoring and scrutiny. If an ordinary member of the public did that or a hungry person stole a bottle of milk or a loaf of bread, they’d be up in court & sentenced and named & shamed in newspapers long ago. Clergy and their networks use their privilege and wealthy to ride roughshod over anyone they choose, the vulnerable being the usual easy target. Fr Aidan McCann court case is one to watch on Friday 2nd September 2022.

Is there a way back for McCann. Surely this will follow him around for life and clergy will be tittering whenever he appears.

Good morning Pat,
the issue of the antics of Ger Fitzgerald’s trolls needs to be addressed. I simply cannot get over how he (a) divulged serious and highly confidential medical information on Karen to third parties and (b) how one of these bandits from Killaloe could then send that information to you. It is horrible in the extreme. Should this information as a complaint be sent on to Fintan Monahan officially? Ger is still in the employ of Killaloe Diocese, suspended or not he’s getting paid and still under their auspices.

Like

Do not forget his latest liaisons with Malachy Thompson at Mount St Joseph Roscrea. My money is on the fact that he has access to one of the apartments in Cistercian College over the summer to hide out. The Cistercians have done this for priests before.

Like

The monastery website still lists Thompson as superior, did he not resign this position? And interestingly he is also the ‘vocations director’. Another proud day for the Cistercians.

It certainly seems that way. Blocks her on facebook etc, wont answer emails, gets her banned from visiting Glenstal – and his padre does this then to Karen. TBH I can totally see why Karen is livid. This guy is out of control.

11.34 defamation of character is a very serious matter. She was informed in writing that her integrity to attend a healing retreat that she was offered as a consequence of being targeted by a Killaloe clergyman was in doubt??? The irony of it??!

9.57 I sent the details on the most recent abortion message to Fintan’s email. I have no expectations, but Fintan did tell me, in his last correspondence to me a few months ago, to send on any further evidence. In my opinion, Fintan has no control over loose canon Ger. Ger has always done what he pleases and that includes sharing my messages with his friends in Ennis. I had to laugh when I read the comment on yesterday’s blog from an Ennis parishioner who said Ger’s lady friends should help him find a job instead of letting him sit in bed sending on my messages to his friends 🤣. I find it humorous because that is exactly what he has been doing. Go for it Ger! The more you try to knock me down, the more resilient I become!

Like

Ger did what he wanted in Maynooth and did so without rebuke by the authorities there, even though they knew that his behaviour – having lay student girlfriends – was against the letter and spirit of formation and signified a “having it all” attitude.

Even shabby seminaries such as Maynooth should at least attempt to inculcate among the students the personal self-discipline that a diocesan priest needs. In theory, a monk is bound by the bell and has superiors watching over him. Diocesan priests, however,
especially now that most of them live alone, have no supervision at all, so if they lack the self-discipline needed for an ordered life they go off the rails and harm themselves and others. That was part of the purpose of the Trent-mandated seminary system, which was thrown in the bin, with disastrous consequences, such as the Maynooth summer of love.

Modern bishops, with their “Bishop First Name/nice guy/want to be liked” approach, aren’t helping in these situations.

Like

A very wise observation on self-discipline.
Priests (but not just priests) underestimate the absolute importance of this for spiritual growth: there can be none without it.
If I were a bishop, I would not ordain any man who didn’t spend at least two hours in prayer EVERY day, wasn’t (without good medical reason) of moderate weight, and who had no attraction to solitude.

8.29. It appears that he is very much within the clerical & lay Ennis & wider folds behind the scenes. His trolls in whom he confides personal information from his ministry clearly have an agenda making one question why they are so absolutely desperate to discredit Karen and relish in her pain and anguish inflicted by him. It’s typical of the voyeuristic indulgence in pain & hurt that the paedophile protector type enjoy from the safety of their carefully cultivated networks. Beneath contempt. Harassment at a minimum. Why is Malachy entertaining him?

I read this blog daily and commenters disagree with what Karen says or does and they don’t back or necessarily side with Ger Fitzgerald. I think all comments challanging Karen are perceived to be from ‘minions’ as she likes to call all critics here on the blog. I think Karen is doing a pretty good job discrediting herself, would she post such sensitive information about herself on FB or Twitter? The information is forever in the domain of the Internet forever. Her quest to have Ger removed as a priest is not hers to make no matter how much noise or 17k bank slips you have. It’s out of control drama about nothing. Please move on everyone, enough is enough.

The Trappists are in crisis. It is irresponsible for them to have a young man on a bus on the way to visit the abbey with the prospect of them joining the order. These people have a duty of care to people. Young men join monasteries for a variety of reasons, the safety valve must be at the religious orders’ side. It is very worrying that the Cistercians would allow this happen. They should be ashamed of themselves. It is heart breaking to think of this young man on a bus on his own. Bishop Pat has done a lot to expose the hypocrisy and corruption within the RCC but the listening ear he offers to those who reach out for help is very important. I pray this young man is okay.

Some of them are wonderful in their commitment but try redefining it and involve new people, all hell breaks loose.

I can’t wait for more of the laity to be involved in the Roman Catholic church. We all know of those hanging around the priests and, the church, the more holy than thou brigade, amateur priests and, nuns, not quite committed, but, pushy and brazen, it’s gong to be entertaining. There will be hell to pay for enticing them into positions of authority. It will be those types of personality that will be attracted to those situations.
I have laugh my side sick at your description of the catty women already helping out. Is hatred a sin? Sin or not there will be torrents of it flowing around.
It will be more of the same, and and worse, the little bit of power they gain will go to their heads, there are hundreds, nay! thousands of little Hitler’s in the making.
If Francis thinks this is the way forward, God help us all, it is going to be hell, it’s bad enough as it is, having to put up with priest droning on, and, trying to domineer the “faithful” however, “we ain’t seen nothin yet” it will be fun to be sitting on the sideline observing their antics Lord above! I wouldn’t trust one of them, as far as I could throw them.

The Cistercian abbeys are toxic places. No young man should be encouraged to go next or near them. It’s bad enough naive parents send their young boys to the Cistercians in Roscrea. As +Pat remarks “ like a lamb going to the slaughterhouse”. Truly shocking. Has history taught us anything about allowing young and vulnerable people spend time with Catholic religious? I did work on the wards as care attendant and I cleaned wards and looked after patients. I was surprised to learn about all the money priests received on this blog. It has opened my eyes.

I have to take issue with the idea that they’re like lambs to the slaughter.
If you go into the ministry of a church which has such a documented history of abuse, criminality and avoiding responsibility for these, and choose to ignore this history….
Well, you’re either a criminal yourself or, in failing to take reasonable steps to protect yourself, you’re bringing any trouble on yourself.
These men would probably put greater effort into checking a holiday destination or online retailer.

Young men, especially from rural Ireland, even in 2022, can still be immature and unawareness many things.
But the seminary will either be their undoing or will turn them into cynical clerics that either abuse themselves or cover up abuse 😞
That young man who spoke to me from the bus struck me as an innocent too trusting. Although he had enough worries to ring me.
And he did not ring from a witheld number and he gave me his full name.

I really don’t think naivety is an excuse any more.
In the age of the internet, if you are of normal intelligence you can find out the criminal history of a church you belong to.
Nobody can reasonably expect to be treated well by a cult. You wouldn’t eat at a restaurant which was always in the news for food poisoning.
As an adult we have to take some reasonable care for our safety and if you eat at a visibly infested restaurant it’s your own fault.

3.47: Pat, were not living back in the bogs anymore. Education, the internet, iPhones have reached the entire country. Young people are well attuned to the “sexuslisation” of every aspect of their lives. They are more aware of the potential dangers of being abused, raped or coerced into illicit behaviours. Yes, some may still be a little naive when they travel from relatively small villages to larger towns and cities but to make the assertion that any man consideting entry to a seminary is akin to being led to the slaughter is risible, ignorant and disingenuous of you. Many young men who were ordained are very fine human beings. Sorry to say Pat, but your lurid headlines are what rag mags engage in…Didn’t you once work for such a rag? Your statement is way OTT. May I ask you a question: if the young man asked to join the oratory, would you acquiesce to the request?

Like

I might? But he would not be shagged here and he would not be asked to pretend he was celibate.

A lot of the young Catholic men who are into Youth 2000/Divine Mercy/JPII are niave and very trusting about the Church. They are ill-equipped for standing the lustful cynics who populate seminaries and religious houses.

2:58 I agree. Pat’s blog has had the useful function of exposing Maynooth, Oscott, the Irish College etc, not to mention the post-ordination behaviour and departures of so many priests.
Indeed, if you Google Maynooth, up pops Pat’s blog and associated media reports about strange goings on there. This means that no young man with access to the internet can claim that he was unaware of the sort of place Maynooth is, likewise Roscrea etc. The bishops, seminary staff and abbots would much prefer that their worlds hadn’t come under Pat’s scrutiny.

@ 5:16pm – You must remember that to the bishops and the staff of Maynooth, it is all a big joke. They don’t really believe, they are stuck in “careers” they hate and which depress them, they don’t find one another’s company congenial, but it will do for their day. The arrival each September of a few new sems livens things up for them a bit and distracts from the despair that falls on them just before they have their restless sleep each night.

I have just watched Robert Nugent’s latest video . Apparently he was on retreat all weekend so he probably didn’t see your blog. Anyway I just can’t find the words to describe the video. All I can say is I think he’s losing it. You’ll have to watch it to know what I mean. ( One weekend Two retreats)

I see what you mean 😞

Where were his wife and kids all weekend when he was indulging himself in this fantasy in a PPs house?

Like

Is he trying to set himself up as some mystic/guru type? He had a vision of Christ sitting in front of him???
Why is he so obsessed with sex, men objectifying women, using porn, and masturbating, as if these were the sole reason modern men might be depressed ( his words not mine)

6.42: Pat, I watched Robert’s videos when I discovered his You Tube forum and when he appeared on this blog. I do not like the nastiness of comments directed at him, especially the references to his wife and children. I suspect he will reflect seriously about the content of your blog yesterday. I wouldn’t be surprised if he responds in some way. That aside, it is beyond my understanding how Robert finds so much time making these videos, sometimes three and four times a day, requiring huge time away from his family. Between Caminos, Lough Derg, Knock, Fatima, Prayer Group meetings for men, interviews with ultra conservative American Catholics, I think he is trying too hard and the style of his preaching is screechy, loud and off putting, interspersed with nervous and OTT laughter and gestures. Robert is undoubtedly sincere but recently he is causing sime to ask questions about him. God bless you Robert but calm down, please.

6.38..I agree with you. Robert has just been on line again giving out yards about Fr. Brendan Hoban and the Killala diocese and the synodal .process . While I can agree with a lot of what he says its the anger and the aggression that turns me off. As you say he needs to calm down

6.42: Pat, this video by Robert will not encourage many back to the Church. He displays a distinct lack of understanding of the culture of our time and the horrendous effects of clerical sex abuse scandals. We are all aware for long years now that modern society is much more critical and questioning of the Church. Rightly so. Robert makes valid points when he speaks about the deliberate twisting of Church teachings by some in the media and that our Bishops, as spiritual and moral Leaders, have failed to grasp the enormity of the crisis we’re in. But after this, Robert’s video is concerningly bizarre. I do not understand why he feels the need to comment after events and articles that don’t resonate with his views. He certainly “slaughters” the Bishops. I think he should find a spiritual home with TLM Society. Permanently.

Pat, I am a former seminarian and I am so glad I left. I am a lot happier as a result. In seminary, my mental health suffered and there were nights I couldn’t sleep. I tried my best to continue but after a few months, I had enough. A lot of the guys in seminaries nowadays are very unpleasant traditionalists and playing a massive game. As you said, they are only becoming priests for a cushy lifestyle, no financial worries, dressing up in fancy clothes, and having some sort of status. None of them represent the teachings of Jesus Christ. By 2050, they will live very miserable lives because nobody will come to Mass from my generation and parishes will have no money. A lot of these men need a reality check.

I’m glad that you ‘re glad you left.
I left in 1968. And looking back, I see just how ridiculously stupid, misplaced, and inappropriate is the whole farrago of Catholicism, Christianity, and ……well, frankly, the make believe fairy tales of religious beliefs.
