SURPRISE! SURPRISE! PHONSIE NOT HAPPY WITH SYNODAL PATH.

THE FONZ

SEE IRISH TIMES

https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2022/08/30/bishop-criticises-synthesis-report-sent-to-rome-on-behalf-of-irish-catholic-church/

“A Catholic bishop has said the national synthesis sent to Rome earlier this month revealed “an attitude to what could be termed ‘traditional’ faith which is mildly dismissive.” Bishop of Waterford and Lismore Phonsie Cullinan also felt that the synodal process which led to the synthesis “was somewhat rushed. The time limitation given by those tasked to oversee the Synod in Rome was insufficient.

It was also the case that “a number of things emerge from the synthesis which challenge church teaching which she has held since the beginning”, added Bishop Cullinan”.

PAT SAYS

Phonsie, Robert Nugent, the Latin Mass brigade and other antedeluvians are not happy about Pope Francis’ Synodal Path and the various national contributions to the process.

They say various deflecting things but the bottom line is that these people are anti Vatican II and want us all to return to the church and the world of the 1950s.

THE FONZ WITH “PLEASUREDOME FREEMAN”

“God wants spiritual fruits – not religious nuts”.

The Fonz is a religious nut that has fallen from the Opus Dei tree.

He should never have been a priest, never mind a bishop. His expressed views and actions cause great offence and hurt to many people and make people laugh out loud at him and his church.

JOSE

Recently he was running around the youth community house he established at Glencomeragh squealing and excited at the thought of meeting the newest community member – Jose, a 20 year old Spanish lad.

And then there has been his other rants about the cervical cancer vaccination and yoga.

……and his unexplained relationship with:

THE FONZ WITH “RAWHIDE PURCELL”.

There is something deeply worrying about Phonzie and his fellow travellers in the anti Vatican II, trad Mass and Opus Dei confederation.

OPUS DEI

I was glad to see Pope Francis taking recent action to clip the wings of the Opus Dei cult.

Francis has ordered that the head of Opus Dei will no longer be a bishop.

Furthermore, he has removed the Vatican governance of Opus Dei from the Congregation of Bishops to the Congregation of the Clergy – symbolising that Opus Dei is no longer regarded in Rome as part of the hierarchy but instead part of the clergy serving the people.

If Francis achieves nothing else except to clip the wings of the hierarchical, clerical and lay religious nuts, he will be doing us all a great service.

I never thought I’d agree with Bishop Cullinan but he’s right on this Synod crap, which is yet again an other attempt by left wing nutters, the Novus Ordo Brigade and the ultra liberal elite to destroy any of the vestiges left of The Holy Church. The fact that Patsy, the Great Apostate supports it only confirms that. Just look at its supporters ‘We are church’, whatever that means? the notorious ACP another bunch of heretics, look at its members which tells you all. They should have been shut down and dealt with long ago. But worry not we have the words of Our Divine Lord “The gates of hell shall not prevail”

The reports from the 26 diocese on what were discussed are available online. A further 14 submissions were received from other groups such as religious congregations, associations of lay people, church agencies and some individuals. A National steering group then summarised these for the final report. Those who submitted online appear to have had a fast track for the inclusion of their views. It is not known who they were or exactly what they said so what should have been a transparent and open process became anything but.

Also compare the facilitation provided to Mark Kirby, Ger Fitzgerald, Jerry Carey and others. They mind their bad boys and hang everyone else out to dry.

I am afraid that Dom Benedict Anderson, like anyone who realizes the true nature of the church of Rome, has had to learn it the hard way.

How many people read the Irish Catholic these days? And of those who do, how many of them could be bothered even to feign interest in Phonsie’s feelings on the Synodal Pathway?
This has gone beyond a very bad joke. Few under 60 give a damn about the institutional Church, much less about its opinion on anything, even on God himself.
Phonsie is a lightweight intellectually. His claim to be a successor of the Apostles, ludicrous in itself, doesn’t change that.
It’s hubris of Phonsie, and episcopally servile of the Irish Catholic, to think Phonsie’s pensées on anything could be weighter, in the now jaded consciousness of the Catholic public, than the opinion of any slurring regular down the pub.

Like

Phonsie and the revanchists need to reflect on the fact that the traditional ways and the hierarchical clerical structure of the Church have let us down considerably and led the Church in to dysfunctional, toxic and criminal ways. It is time for them and their thinking to move aside and for new minds to think through solutions. What frigging arrogance on the part of Phonsie to question and to put in doubt the synodal path in such a way. He would do better to reflect on his failures rather than trying to subvert those who are looking for solutions and ways forward. Shame on him !

Like

The data has been manipulated to create a false narrative for the RCC. For example, the views of 10,000 Catholics in Dublin dioceses were condensed into one submission and given the same standing as those of single individuals, yet is being proclaimed as the views of the majority of Irish Catholics.

Like

The significance of the Irish contribution to the Universal Synod arguably lies in the radical demographic, economic and social transformation of Ireland which has been framed and being paralleled by dramatic changes in the church.

It will be discussed at a synod in Rome in October and from there the plan is to have an Irish National Synodal Assembly within the next three years. If high expectations of change are not met, media commentators are speculating about a breakaway church.

I stand to be corrected on this by the brother of the former Fr. Richard Geoghegan who is a Fine Gael Councillor and who stood in the last General Election for the Party in Waterford, has not gone on the Current Affairs programme since he was in the backroom team of a Gaelic Football team that appeared in a County Final that played a player in a match (which they won on the field, but has since had it taken off them), that had covid. He was Mayor the city and county council at the time. Many who holds a religious title or views have not got a fair hearing on the station in recent years.

Sime of the commentary today is simply very negative and destructive. Some commenters are at least attempting to make some positive responses to the Synodal Pathway. There are implicit judgments made about the faithful in our parishes, that somehow they are specially chosen to be part of church groups and activities. Therefore, they are complicit in any abuse, cover up or corruption. That’s a dishonest and lazy argument. Of the almost 200 volunteers in our parish at different levels, there isn’t one of them that I choose – all came through a system of volunteering, interviews where relevant, nomination by another – all giving freely and with great dedication. Training where necessary has been given to particular groups: Funeral Ministry: Baptism Team: Bereavement Support: Financial Management, Spiritual Support …All who are involved make a huge difference to our parish community. These parishioners and others attended the Synodal Meetings and made worthwhile contributions. It’s a beginning of something new. Where it will eventually lead us, I’m not sure but my task is to pastorally care for the parish along with relevant groups and personnel. In this regard we can never have enough. I see some flaws in the process and its interpretation but I believe that each parish and its pastoral teams must reflect on, pray about and discern the best way to respond to present needs and challenges. CHRIST MUST STAND AT THE CENTRE OF ALL OUR ENDEAVOURS.

Like

Like

Interesting that the report for Synod submitted by Phonsie’s own diocese, Waterford and Lismore, noted ‘that when Our Lady appeared in Knock, Fatima and Lourdes, she appeared to lay people and not to priests’.
Now, I can suggest several reasons for this: priesthood is not approved in Heaven (and never was); priests are not trusted in Heaven with the Divine will; and, in the case of Knock (Ireland) in particular, priests have prospered through financial exploitation of the laity, even to the point of allowing their flocks to starve to death in famine while they themselves ate well and drank well. (Not one priest in Ireland (not one) died of starvation during the Great Famine of 1845 – 1849.)

Like

@ 10:52am

Don’t blame the clergy for starving their flock. Put the blame where it belongs the Landlords and the protestant Ascendancy. Also the soupers who tried to entice the people with a plate of soup. To many of the faithful death was in conscience preferable than Apostacy.

Like

I’m glad you don’t deny what I said about RC priests, because even you, revolting priest-apologist that you characteristically are, cannot deny the historical truth about the starved dead in Ireland and RC priests during the Great Famine.

I put the blame where it rightly belongs for this humanitarian disgrace: on landlords, on farmers, including wealthy Catholic farmers (who wanted their produce sold in England, since there it fetched the highest prices), AND on RC priests, parasites, who literally fed their bellies and drank their fine wines, courtesy of the poor, while the poorest of the poor, whole families of them, died in protracted and absolute agony.

If you would stop brown-nosing romanist priests for even a moment, you might find time to feel the shame that is rightly yours.

But I guess you’re just too stupid.

Hardly overwhelming enthusiasm for the Synod in the countries mentioned, in the following article. How many of them were from religious background, leaves one to wonder. This attempt to convince the laity their views are important, or relevant ,obviously has not worked, hence the low turnout to partake in it. I have noticed when their backs are against the wall they invoke the “Holy Spirit”, which somehow gives the impression, its all a bit airy fairy, (for instance where was the Holy Spirit when Roman Catholic children were being sexually abused? so, it’s hardly convincing to mention that same entity will solve any problems, associated with the Synod}
In a few years time there won’t be a word about it, and, the status quo will remain firmly in situ.
