St Flannans College were left land by Mary Charolette McNamara on condition that it not be sold or let. It was to remain part of st Flannans College in Ennis

The current bishop has taken a commercial decision to sell 5 acres of it against the wishes of the board of management of the school and many residents

He is refusing to acknowledge the bequest condition and the charity regulator is sitting on the fence.

Many locals are concerned about the sale as it will lead to further erosion in n the lands for commercial gain.

The sale must be stopped.

Proposed developments must also be appropriate in scale and nature to the areas in which they are located.

** Community
The development of lands for community uses shall be taken to include the use of lands for community, civic, health services, public or educational uses including the provision of schools, community halls, healthcare facilities and any other facility that is intended to provide some form of community service.
