NOBEL PRIZE WINNING BISHOP ABUSED BOYS.

https://www.pillarcatholic.com/cardinal-mccarrick-and-bishop-belo/

The Vatican acknowledged Thursday that it imposed restrictions in 2020 on the ministry and residency of Bishop Carlos Ximenes Belo, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who is accused of sexually abusing teenage boys decades ago.

But Vatican officials will almost certainly face more questions about those restrictions, and about the bishop’s past, as details of the allegations against Belo come into focus in the weeks to come.

The Vatican’s admission came after a Dutch magazine reported this week the serial abuse allegations against the bishop, who has been regarded as a hero of the fight for independence in his native country of East Timor.

The allegations are grave. The bishop is accused of raping young men in the 1980s and ‘90s, and of taking advantage of their poverty, and his power, to keep them silent.

PAT SAYS

The Vatican disciplined Bishop Belo over two years ago but kept the matter silent.

They would never have made the matter public if the victims and journalists had not spoken out.

This sends a number of very clear messages:

1. The RCC is still covering up abuse everywhere and everytime they can.

2. Pope Francis, like many popes before him, even and especially those SAINTED were and are abuse cover up merchants.

3. NEVER REPORT ABUSE to a bishop, a priest or a church paid safeguarding officer.

4. ALWAYS report abuse directly to the police and social services.

5. Always get a good lawyer – one with no church connections.

6. Always consider talking to a good journalist with an investigative journalism track record.

MESSAGE FOR LIZ TRUSS

Lies Truss is nothing but a cheating pig. Cheated on her husband in the early noughties with a fellow MP for two years, she will collapse the economy.

The strategy of Nanny Truss is to deliver Yoo Kay toot sweet to Starmer’s shoot to kill Stalinists after starving pensioners out by her “leaks”. This was the decision carefully curated by 180,000 blue rinsers and their dishonest parliamentary lackeys till the very moment of the Queen’s death bed. The cat has been let out of the thatcherite handbag. That nice tall brown man, with all his faults, did tell them.

The message to Liz Truss is brilliant. Please do not think everyone in the UK, and in particular England, supports the vile woman, the Tories or the gross evil of Brexit.

Like

Lol, PaulC, the Tories got an 80 seat majority in support of their manifesto commitment was to deliver Brexit. We had a UK-wide referendum and voted to leave.

Like

Anonymous 10:19,
OK have another referendum and see what the result is now. Brexiters would be too frit too do that though. A UK general election is urgently needed too and there would not be an 80 seat majority for the Tories.

We should do what’s right to grow the economy and have the simplest, most competitive tax code we can. Rather obsess over the news “optics”, let’s focus on policies which strengthen the country.

Their majority wasn’t in support of anything, it was by default. As for a “referendum” the vote was 37-34-28, at the time Her Majj was scornful of us who demanded details. Well we’re right out of the EU now and this hasn’t held the politicans back from deliberately sabotaging negotiations several times over just to make sure nothing will work.

Who’s that bearded Cork guy on the video clip? A total embarrassment! While Liz Truss is making a mess of things over the water, I have no doubt that the English will rally around her and vote the Tories back into power at the next election. They certainly don’t need silly Irish people trying to be funny. He’s your typical Irish gombeen and doesn’t do us any favours.

Whoosh! Wind your neck down. It’s called humour. Labour has a 33 point lead in the polls, the biggest in over 20 years. If you think the lemmings will return the Conservatives in the next election, not only do you need a humour transplant, you need a reality transplant.

“Silky Irish people” you say, you condescending prat. Sinn Fein will be a welcome change from the status quo. Get back to your chai lattes and enjoy the ride.

That knowing style of Irish “humour”, exemplified by that Cork man and the likes of Graham Norton and Terry Wogan, really grates after a few minutes of it.

I do like Dylan Moran and that guy who talks funny.

10:31 Graham Norton and the late Terry Wogan are representative of hard working talented Irish exports. Just a shame the memorial statue for the late Terry Wogan next to River Shannon looks nothing like him. Rest in peace. I understand from old interviews that Graham Norton allegedly suffered discrimination in rural Cork as a young gay man but no doubt his hard earned profile and wealth has exonerated these issues today.

Our young neighbour sadly found that the report made to church was used to inform and help the church defence of its influential member and to spread malicious and false misinformation in an effort to intimidate the complainant into silence or worse. The desired outcome by the Roman church and its members is the death of those who report wrong doing. Evil through and through from top to bottom of this evil population of wolves in sheep’s clothing and their self interested networks.

Truth is indeed stranger than fiction! McQuaid was another gobby bishop but well able to silence in church interests.

Pat, Your advice is bang-on. Never ever should a person sexually abuse got to the Roman Catholic church first to report their abuse ALWAYS, the police first, make sure there is no familial, or other close relationship between the church and police/Garda. The same applies when finding a solicitor.
The likely outcome if the Roman Catholic Hierarchy is involved, is they will endeavour to pay you off, with the proviso of an NDA.
Never ever sign a non disclosure agreement/form (NDA) under those circumstances, make absolutely sure you know what you are signing and why.
The Timor – Leste situation is not only similar to U.S former Roman Catholic Cardinal McCarrick’s sexual abusing.
It is not dissimilar to American ex-Roman Catholic priest Richard Daschbach in Timor-Leste, who opened the Topu Honis orphanage/refuge for poverty stricken young girls he then went on to sexually abuse them, he had a calendrer on his bedroom, of the young girls he wanted and raped, the sexual pervert prayed with the children of the orphanage every night before, he preyed on his chosen one to sexually violatefor that night
They were told “Don’t be disrespectful, if you don’t sleep with him he will be upset.”
Here we have a a Roman Catholic priest and, Belo a Roman Catholic Bishop, sexually abusing some of the most desperately poor children In Timor, both so sure of their position and power openly sexually abused those they should have been caring for.
Sadly for the Timorese, there homeland has been described as, in one of the most Roman Catholic countries outside the Vatican.

11:21 my parents are Irish and we spent every summer over there as kids & we all travel back for family events. From what we know over the past 40 years or so, it would prove almost impossible to find a representative completely unconnected if one needed impartiality on a sensitive issue. Locals ask lots of questions but become very coy if questioned to the same level in return on themselves.

Unsurprisingly, under Bergoglio, the Bishop Belo case is another McCarrick/Zanchetta/Barros/Inzoli situation, where abuse is covered up and the abusers are looked after. Zero tolerance only applies to critics of Bergoglio, only to ‘rigorists,’ never to the ‘trusted friends’ and ‘allies’.

The head of the German bishops’ conference covered up crimes – did not resign. Bishop Bode (in office since 1995) had several cases of severe negligence but rejected claims for resignation: “It would damage the reforms I started.” I think they must be narcissists.

One thing for sure, they are covering up for sexual deviant criminals, which makes them complicit in the sexual abuse of children mostly Roman Catholic children. Not only are Roman Catholic sexual abuser clerics sexually, physically, psychologically damaging them, the spiritual damage in many cases, is irredeemable.

The Roman church in E&W wasn’t praying for the nation’s boys and girls in 1969. It would have damaged the reforms they started.

1:15 what about the Last Will and Testament of Mary Charlotte McNamara? or do old vulnerable people not matter to Bishop Monahan? What kind of a Diocese is Killaloe, I thought ours was bad but when you read about Killaloe students being attacked in seminary, Killaloe school and hospital chaplains exposing themselves in public, dating parishioners, it’s quite mild up here. I suppose all the objectors to this Bishop can do is appeal to An Bord Pleanala if he continues to ride roughshod over the old lady’s last wishes.

Have one question re yesterday blog:
Did that woman specify or stipulated in WRITING that her lands not to be sold. If its verbal but not in writing l, then any Bishop can twist her words and sell the lands to suit him or his diocese.
Anon at 9.37am
Whereas the Vatican or the bishops all over the world wants to keep it(aka abuses) hidden and get the money flowing in from the parishioners all over the world.
If on the other hand, expose Vatican or the bishops out in the open and stop some monies flowing in from parishioners from all over the world.
