ON GOING ATTEMPTS TO ATTACK AND UNDERMINE DOM BENEDICT ANDERSEN πŸ˜ž

BREAKING NEWS

FATHER NIALL COLL – RAPHOE – IS THE NEW BISHOP OF OSSORY.

WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT 11 AM TODAY IN OSSORY CATHEDRAL, KILKENNY.

DOM BENEDICT

Latest attempt by anonymous “enemies” of Dom Andersen.

Sent to this Blog – ANONYMOUSLY – of course:

“I know that everyone here will attack me (if that is the blog admin allows the publication of the comment) and cast aspersions on my intentions, however I have a genuine question: why Fr Benedict left the Orthodox church prior to his ordination? Of course you might well think it was nostalgia for the one true church or even better divine inspiration. However, have you considered that the Orthodox might have kicked him out and if so why? We do not know under which Orthodox jurisdiction he was, but both the Greek and the Russian monasteries on the US are very strict. So what if the bishop found something from them and he is acting on information he cannot disclose“.

PAT

Unfortunately, I have never met Dom Andersen and abide by his wishes, expressed to me by email, that I correspond with him through his canonical / other advisors.

I am also fortunate to have a source in Rome who is willing to discuss this matter with me from the official RCC perspective.

Furthermore, I am privy to his Orthodox background and CV.

The above comment to my Blog is absolute mischief making, totally inaccurate and completely untrue.

FACTS

1. Dom Andersen was never in an Orthodox monastery.

2. He was an Orthodox seminarian.

3. He left Orthodoxy after much discernment and academic study deliberately to be in Communion with Rome. ( a big mistake in my view)

4. On leaving Orthodoxy he was supplied with references attesting to his unquestioned moral probity, his wholly authentic spirituality, his admired intellectual abilities and his sincerity of purpose.

4. Silverstream was the very first monastery that Dom Andersen was a monk of.

5. Since his departure from Orthodoxy, I am told, Dom Andersen has maintained most congenial relations with his former brethren.

6. Dom Anderson was, and remains, the confounder of Silverstream.

7. He was hounded out of Silverstream after he raised concerns with regard to Mark Kirby with the Bishop of Meath.

8. Dom Andersen, I understand, wants to get on with his priestly and personal life and has options open to him.

9. The only thing blocking this is the stubborn determination of a certain Tom Deenihan, not to give Dom Andersen his absolutely deserved letter of good standing.

DOM BENEDICT IS A VICTIM RECEIVING ONGOING ABUSE.

TOM DEENIHAN IS THE ABUSER / PERPETRATOR.

The comment in the blog post has also let out that they do know their ‘church’ is dodgy by the automatic assumption that somebody joining them would be leaving their previous church under a cloud.

I agter with you Pat. Dom Anderson is being deliberately denied justice and charity. There must be some higher person he can approach to help reinstate him back into ministry. This saga is poorly reflective of Bishop Deenihan. Might there be something else of which you’re not aware? Would you consider inviting him to Larne? I read an article today (Global Sisters Report) about 6 Indian Carmelite sisters who stood their ground against their Bishop who wanted to take their convent building for his Diocese. The sisters had provided a school and the local P. P. brought them to court seeking to remove ownership from them. initially they had the support of their Mother General but she was too deferential to her Bishop, so she took the Hierarchy’s side, leaving her 6 sisters at the mercy of the local priest and the Diocesan Apparatchiks. The 6 sisters fought all the way and won their battle to retain their property. With the help of a lady theologian they have written what appears to be a fantastic book. It completely challenges the Patriarchal system in Kerala where nuns are expendable and disowned by their orders if they disobey a directive from their Bishop. Some Bishops are horrible leaders, nasty, misogynistic bastardos. The nuns won the moral and ethical battle. They are hoping with a new Superior General that they will be reinstated into their order. I blame their situation on a male dominated clerical system, in India particularly. So much is being written now about the abuse of nuns by priests and Bishops. Keep going sisters. Tell the truth. Put these cruel β€œchristmen” in the docks. Dom Anderson is up against a horrible beliggerent, twisted system of treating truth tellers.

9.16: Lord Shiva: somehow I don’t think you know the meaning of “hinduish”… My comment is about Catholicism and my reference is to Kerala in India…do you know where to find India on a map, let alone Kerala?? Somehow I doubt on the evidence of this shallow, inane comment.

The reason what has been done to Fr Andersen seems so shocking is it’s the way the church’s abuse victims are normally treated, applied to a priest for a change.

8.17 yes, this provides a very clear warning to the public – if they do this to their β€œown” clergy, just imagine what they would do to a member of the public. Dangerous and best avoided like the plague on society that the RCC are.

Abuse of seminarians and priests, nuns and other adult religious has only latterly being given attention. It can be sexual abuse or it be a whistleblower enduring persecution, like here, altho not in the most savage forms where actual or threatened violence is involved, or emotional abuse, and at times sometimes a mix of them all in institutions which became or were always morally or spiritually toxic.

β€œAn ex-seminarian punished for blowing the whistle on sexual misconduct is continuing his fight in court. Anthony Gorgia filed his brief on appeal Wednesday in the NY Supreme Court’s appellate division, accusing Rome’s Pontifical North American College (NAC) of unlawfully retaliating against him after he witnessed homosexual grooming. The lawsuit, authored by attorney Raymond Belair, asks for $25 million in damages, and accuses New York’s Cdl. Timothy Dolan of colluding with NAC rector Fr. Peter Harman to oust Gorgia.”

Bishops who look all pious in public but in reality are like a pack of snarky jackals who will employ all methods of chicanery in order to further their own agenda. Time these jackals understood that some of us sheep will no longer tolerate the cover ups, hypocrisy, and lies. Justice for Dom Anderson and for all victims & survivors of RCC abuse.

Why didn’t you mention that he was part of the Western Rite under Antioch? Perhaps his situation would be more understandable to your readers.

I imagine that the western rite may be more difficult even though the hierarchs claim it’s equal to the Eastern.

It makes sense that BJA would seek out what he thought to be the mother Church of Rome, but you and I know how wrong he was. Way back in 1970 I decided if I were going to be a Prot I’d go to the experts. Alas, I ended up at an Anglo-Catholic church although I was more of a Prot than they were. LOL!

Accountability by clergy, lay staff & volunteers engaging in slander & abuse of Roman Catholic Church victims, survivors & whistleblowerssays:

Legislation must be urgently implemented to create accountability for lay staff & volunteers who are extremely proactively utilised by clergy to slander whistleblowers on their behalf in efforts to conceal all manner of wrong doing connected to the Roman Catholic Church. Conflicts of interest are illegal all across the board but clergy hide behind canon lawyers who are ultimately also about protecting the financial interests of the RCC and at huge cost to victims & survivors. Stop the rot.

Every diocese on the island of Ireland needs to be investigated.

Rome refused the plan for the diocese of Ossory as it is too large a Diocese and therefore they are leaving the Metropolitian of Dublin with thre suffragfen sees.
Smaller dioceses will be served by one Bishop per two.

Considering the Roman Catholic Cover-up clerical cabal willingly covered up child rape throughout the world, justice for whistleblowers, integrity and truth, are very low priorities. Institutional secrecy while protecting clerics in order they hold on to their faculties including all this entails is paramount. It’s all for one and one for all…in the brotherhood. That’s

Oh dear, I see the Northern Irelanders are causing trouble again. Both sides. Especially the arrogant Duppers. Although the Sinn Feinners are not making it easy either. FFS, why can you people over there not get along and sort things out and make some compromises ? What is happening at the moment, without the Assembly sitting and without a NI Government, is that pretty much everything and everybody suffers. We, on this side of the water, end up paying for it. You threaten, you throw your dollies out of the pram, and are just impossibly self-centred. Oh, and stop blaming the Brits for everything. You have had long enough to sort it out for yourself. I’m not sure that Little Rishi, Cruella, and Dimboy Cleverly have much interest in your, not from their background, and Jeremy *unt has probably had enough of you over the decades. So, please, do us a favour, and sort it out for all our sakes, and stop being like overgrown spoiled children. Do us a favour…..

Save the date: Tuesday, November 1st, Bishop Fintan Monahan will be the speaker at the Shannon Mission at SS John & Paul. Anyone courageous souls out there who would like to attend? Hint hint, wink wink.

Like

10.50 Bishop Monahan & his teams in Killaloe wouldn’t know the truth if it jumped up & bit them on the nose. What’s he going to do with Fr Randy Rosney or Rodney or whatever he called during the Holy Mission, Monahan had Fr Rosney on an online video with his clerical collar half torn off & his hair & complexion suggesting he’d been pulled backwards through a hedge the other day after Bishop Pat Buckley exposed yet another Irish clerical scandal in Killaloe. Surely publicly humiliating one priest like this instead of managing his patch more honestly is deeply inhuman of Bishop Monahan. It’s a poor reflection on him – he’s only angry because Fr Rosney was outed by yet another woman victimised by Randy priests in Killaloe which seems to differ from other Diocese in having more heterosexual & bisexual clergy than other Irish diocese. Christ on a bike rapidly exited Killaloe quite some time ago it seems.

Like

1.49 I find it deeply disturbing that Bishop Fintan promoted the Randy priest in Shannon after Fr Ryan’s departure. Fintan turns a blind eye to Rosney’s shenanigans because none of the women Rosney is/was involved with have come forward publicly to complain about him. I used to have a certain amount of respect for Fintan but knowing that he has allowed Rosney to continue to sow his wild oats with no accountability speaks volumes about Fintan’s character and leadership abilities.

He is a Great Man and in his first speach he has a dig at the Traidentines
“The four-century and more long dominance of the Tridentine pattern has left Catholics almost everywhere unfamiliar with and thus unskilled in discerning and negotiating possibilities for change in church life. God Bless Our Holy Father Francis and this appointment as he has chosen a Good Man

Bp elect Coll is a good little politician as it sounds like chasu-alb wearing company or courtier talk. If it was Benedict appointing him, most of them would be all hermeneutic of continuity like +Arthur Roche once was, and if a new Pope is say some conservative Central Europe, this chap will turn on a six pence and adopt the current thing as his heartfelt rhetoric and he might rock a cassock if that’s the angle to be taken. The Rhineland and Low Country radicals at V2 were from regions where Catholicism is basically stone dead. Those places likely have more active Hindus than practicising Catholics, let alone Moslems. If he sees V2 as the anti ‘Tridentine’ and not the healthy drawing together as increasingly understood under Benedict (which did and does still happen as priests still manage to offer both, plus +Annibale Bugnini favoured making the Heenan indult universal in 1971, a sort of liturgical free market with formalised liturgy organically replaced by free forms) it suggests a shrinking body of long suffering diocesan Catholics will have more blather to endure. All these parish councils and synodality are a form of pretend accountability for these area managers aka bishops. Meh.

Re. Niall Coll, I can in some of your frustration with Rome, Pat. Nothing changes. Another fella, diocesan of course, who in 35 years of priesthood has about 4 years of parish/pastoral experience behind him, gets the mitre. Are they purposefully doing this? Do they want these dioceses to just die and wither away?

If the Holy See can do a deal with the Chinese Communist Party about choosing bishops, why can’t the Holy See take in to account the opinions and views and desires of those who make up the Diocese of Ossory when choosing who is to be their new bishop ? I doubt if there was much more attempt than asking one or two groupies whom they would like. This business of just parachuting in someone nobody knows about or has heard about to be the new bishop is insulting and demeaning to the faithful. It’s incestuous jobs for the boys born and raising in the clerical image of those who are making the appointment. It is no sustainable, and it is not right. The notion that only the Holy See has a say in these things is long since past its sell by date.

Rev pat, you seem facilated and excited about bishops appointments, maybe a little envious..
It doesn’t really matter who is appointed bishop anymore the people are not coming to church. Mostly grey haired over 60’s in the pews now. Coll is merely a caretaker looking after what’s left of the church. I hope he silences that monk in the friary with his remarks about gay people. This would be a start…

My personal view, for what it’s worth, is that Fr Benedict should leave the RCC and never look back. It looks like he’s on good terms with the Orthodox. I also note (see his Academia page) that he has an expertise in Anglican liturgy and history. The RCC will only continue to abuse him and grind him down. He can depart and hold his head high. He has lots of people all over who esteem and support him.

Like

This is awful, just awful. This latter abuse would have been avoided if they had listened to Peter and acted on the evidence he provided to the Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Liverpool Civil Court from 2018 onwards. Peter was sent to prison because the priests denied the abuse and said he was a liar and, as a result, he served six-months in prison because they all lied. But the judge, HHJ Graham Wood – who is also the Chancellor of the Liverpool Anglican diocese – falsely stated Peter had denied to provideany evidence – this is is not the case…
Was this judge attempting to protect a paedophile vicar by totally silencing Peter?
Peter was harassed and threatened to keep quiet on multiple occasions.
