JOHN PAUL II WAS NO SAINT!

Evidence suggests Pope John Paul II knew about abuse of minors decades before becoming pope

JOHN PAUL II IN 1958

https://nltimes.nl/2022/12/03/evidence-suggests-pope-john-paul-ii-knew-abuse-minors-decades-becoming-pope

A Dutch journalist based in Poland revealed evidence on Friday that Pope John Paul II was involved in covering up the abuse of minors while he was the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Krakow. The journalist, Ekke Overbeek, spent the last two years combing through archives in Poland, where he resides, and found several cases where the prominent Catholic Church figure knew about priests who abused children and helped them evade punishment, including transferring them to other parishes.

He found concrete cases of priests who abused children in the Archdiocese of Krakow, where the future pope was archbishop. The future pope knew about it and nevertheless transferred those men. That led to new victims,” Overbeek said to Nieuwsuur. The journalist studied publicly available documents from the secret services about the future pope from during his time living and working in Poland. He wrote a book about his findings, Maxima Culpa, which will be published next year in Polish.

University of Warsaw professor Stanislaw Obirek, believe the documents to be authentic. So does Tom Doyle, the American priest who wrote the 1985 report. It is said that Pope Francis was warned about the possibility that Pope John Paul II knew about abuse and helped covered it up, but Francis canonized the man as a saint anyway.

“We now know that Wojtyła actively covered up pedophile crimes committed by priests under his jurisdiction,” Professor Obirek told Nieuwsuur. “That is a new chapter, a first step. We will see how the church will react.”

“The reasoning of the church – of the defenders of the pope – boils down to the fact that he could not have known. That he learned of the seriousness of the situation very late and that he first thought it was America’s problem. All those arguments can now be dismissed,” Overbeek said. “They were in a great hurry to canonize John Paul II. And now you see facts emerging from those Polish archives that are very incriminating and can therefore actually cast doubt on his sainthood.”

PAT SAYS

In the Roman Catholic Church EVERYTHING INCLUDING CANONIZATION is political!

To my mind, John Paul II was a fascist clerical bully.

He gave total cover to Macial Maciel the Mexican founder of the Legionaries of Christ who has been exposed as a swindler, drug addict and serial child abuser.

Maciel

Maciel gave multi millions to JOHN POLE that made its way to Poland.

It is no surprise to learn that THE POLE covered up sex abuse in his own country.

It was for this reason that he became a bishop and climbed to the top.

God Himself only knows what other secrets are in his cupboard?

The RCC used to claim that the popewas the Vicar of Christ on earth.

They will soon claim that God is the Vicar of the Pope in Heaven!

Do you believe that Pope Francis did not protect pedophile roman catholic priests where he is coming from? That’s why they keep and protect their cardinals no matter how they deal with children’s sexual abuse and molestation in their Dioceses… This is the way how we keep chains, and walls, strong from outsiders… Keep the sh*t and the smell safe… We do have immunity!!!

What is even more significant from Catholicism’s view is, JP2 covered up the mortal sins of others. He is no more a saint than I am, underhanded, deceitful, and a protector of serial sexual abusers.
If someone seems to be too good to be true they probably are.
Many of those he protected, were prolific fundraisers for the Roman Church, they say ever man has his price………….

The theory some proffer is that the Communists sometimes framed priests, which is true, but not to the extent that the future JP2 pushed to his outbox. Some also say saints could be incompetent in some things of the world, which is true too, but JP2 wasn’t one bit incompetent with ensuring cashflow and gangsters like Paul Card. Macinkus (whom actual mafioso admired and inwardly admitted they were his inferiors) was there to give matters a needed edge, when required.

More and more revelations of the totally corrupt and self serving nature of the RCC emerge daily. The majority of Catholic parishioners simply have no idea of the reality that they unthinkingly follow the requirements of their church of origin: do what we say, and pay up and shut up.

+Pat’s blog is a valuable source of information. But how could knowledge of the RCC ‘s disgusting actions be made more widely available?
On the micro/personal level, just stop contributing to RCC coffers.
But what can be done on a wider level?

The problem there is, many Roman Catholic don’t want to know, they don’t want the burden of making a decision on discovering the organisation they are following since the cradle, is completely corrupt. I doubt if many Catholics don’t know, at least some of the corruption that’s engulfed the Roman Catholic church over the last 40-50 years.
Both my sisters will have none of it criticised, one will continue to insist on sending money to religious orders in exchange for prayers, even though I point out the cesspit many of those communities are.

What a disgusting picture of Maciel being blessed by the Pope. And all the time, Maciel, an evil man, was using and abusing people. And JP II will have known about it. About the same time the new President of the United States Bishops’ Conference, Broglio, was personal secretary to Cardinal Sodano, JP’s Secretary of State. And this at at time when stuff about Maciel was known, but being covered up. Broglio would have known something. He just brushed off any knowledge he had and any connivance in what Maciel was up to by saying that it was easy to have 20/20 hindsight ! He knew ! He did nothing ! Many others will have known too, but chose to look the other way. Many of them will be senior people still making important decisions and still in authority.

These comments about St JP II are deeply unfair. The man was a cleric in a communist country, Poland, and he believed that the communists were made up all these allegations against priests to discredit Christianity.

Cut the man some slack, fhs!

Like

The ‘cleric in a communist country’ excuse does not wash. He had to have known considering all bishops worldwide were instructed by Rome on procedures in cases of solicitation in both 1922 and in 1962. According to Fr. Tom Doyle, Pope John Paul II was handed a copy of a report
known as ‘The Manual’ by American Papal Nuncio in 1985. That report was written by Fr. Tom Doyle, Fr. Michael Peterson and lawyer, Ray Mouton. It was also sent to every bishop in America. The document examined medical and legal issues of the paedophilia cases and warned of a national scandal if the hierarchy did not adopt a sound policy. The report was ignored. The fallout continues…

He was just doing the right thing at the time. Back then we didn’t know that paedophilia amongst clergy was wrong and rife; leave him be and let us all learn from previous mistakes and move on. My Lord has forgave me for my trespasses.

Seriously? Doing the right thing at the right time, because JP II didn’t know that kiddy fiddling was wrong? WTF?!

So, why on earth did he do anything at ALL if he thought there was nothing wrong with kiddy fiddling by priests? Why wasn’t his attitude ‘boys will be boys’, and smile indulgently?

You complete asshole! Of course JP II knew it was wrong, which is precisely why he took the inadequate course he did and WHY he didn’t report it to the police… to prevent public scandal and to avoid giving the communists a weapon against the Church.

That bastard’s priority wasn’t the safety of children from predatory priests, but protecting the reputation of his evil cult!

This is why Vatican 2 is a complete red herring in the history here. When you look at the history and ignore everything about Vatican 2 the situation was set up for the crisis well before Vatican 2, and it was the internet/media that caused people to put two and two together.

Quelle surprise re JPII, something that I didn’t expect out of blue.

Some people called him JPII the great which I didnt agree cos I thought it went too far this time around as it got me booted out of die hard Catholic forums.

The reason that I disagreed was he accepted something like 25M which the Vatican needed badly at that time in return that Marciel not to be DEFROCKED. Sodano knew it as he brought Marciel to jpii at that time.

The impression that I got was jpii won’t defrock or demote him if he received millions coming from a founder of legionnaires of Christ.

Give and take.

That’s how Sodano along with Marciel operated at that time.

Today blog suggests that every Pope must have known the abuses one way or another when he was a priest or Bishop or cardinal before becoming a Pope.

Implications of today blog implies that almost every Pope knew it.

What did they did next is the biggest question when they found out the extent of priestly abuses.

What did they arrive at, what did they did with abusers, did they let them carry on as usual or send them away or DEFROCKED.

Which suggests that JPII’s every decision as a Bishop, cardinal, Pope etc must be scrutinised as to ascertain whether he is a Saint or not.

Otherwise, canonisation process is a fraud .

Therefore the only two infallible ex cathedra statements have been about things for which there will never be any evidence and so can’t be proved or disproved.
Not very well instructed in the faith are you?

5:24 You will find your answer if you search for saints who have been removed from the martyrology. They exist but of course aren’t talked about.
Were canonisation infallible this of course couldn’t happen because it couldn’t possibly be wrong.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m absolutely delighted that the church is now stuck with a saint who covered up crime. And this is even without mentioning the Patron Saint of Old Queens!

Am I right to understand that there is no longer an Advocatus diaboli for the canonization process? If so, how do they determine worthiness?

Advocatus diaboli
The position of devil’s advocate was abolished…………………………… by Pope John Paul II in 1983. This was part of streamlining the whole canonization process. (LOLS)

I recall some post (now long lost) which wondered how the then bishop Wojtyła could largely travel so freely and easily, campaign as he pleased. While the military junta which de-facto ruled Poland from the late 50s was less aggressively Marxist, more pragmatically tolerant in a limited way, they did not normally tolerate this in Churchmen (like the murder of Solidarity trade union connected Fr Jerzy Popiełuszko). The implication was that he glowed, as they say, that he was compromised.

There’s a difference between a dogmatic pronouncement and an infallible one, (which, I take it is what the commenter was asking). The latter has occurred twice.
