ROBERT BYRNE – MY LETTER TO ARCHBISHOP MC MAHON.

BYRNE
MC MAHON

Dear Archbishop McMahon,

You will be aware by now that the apostolic nuncio, Archbishop Gugerotti, has forwarded my correspondence with him to your goodself as he says you are the appropriate person to investigate the priest’s complaint against Bishop Robert Byrne.

I have strongly advised the priest to make a formal complaint to the police and I hope you will encourage him to do the same, even if it delays your own investigation, as would be normal.

The priest has been very upset by this matter and eventually found himself able to share his suffering with fellow clergy at a deanery meeting.

A considerable number of the priests if his diocese are aware of this serious matter.

The diocesan bishop is aware of the complaint and has been, according to reports, extremely kind and gentle with the priest.

It is extremely difficult for a Catholic priest to make such a serious complaint against a Catholic bishop. It takes great courage on the part of the priest to do so.

I know that you will investigate this matter without fear or favour and get to the whole truth and see that justice is done.

Sincerely,

+ Pat Buckley

We can only thank Almighty God that this magnificent Catholic Sanctuary will be closed, thus ensuring that it can’t be used by Polydom for their dreadful so-called ‘liturgies’. In a setting built for the AMDG.

Bella are you still not attending Holy Mass yet come on here to tell us either us with True Tradition of Our Faith but not traditionalist what we should do.
Oh we get it using RCC Canon Law on canonical age when it suits however it does not stop you entertaining 🙂 🙂 🙂
It has been said you blow a good trumpet 😉 🙂 🙂

One of the reasons it’s locked up most of the year (apart from the obvious lack of a congregation and 20 sems would look silly in that empty space) is because of thefts and vandalism by Maynooth University students, who shouldn’t even be on the campus in the first place.

We know that you don’t entertain since nobody would come near you. It has been said that your always blowing your own trumpet about all your fantasy good works🙄 Its all in vain as nobody believes you.😏

Got back last night thats the beauty of staying in Glasgow within the reach of the Airport.
As for my partner of two years that would be telling and we will see what 2023 brings in Glasgow changes.
I do not need anyone to believe me or in me as I have only one Boss (Christ the King) and I strive to serve him in his vineyard and he knows me as we move forward to celebrate his birth so may you get many blessings from him.

Good God Walter it’s worse than I thought, you must return to reality, you are still known to be in Ardeer and your partner of two years does not exist. Any changes in Glasgow wont affect you since you have nothing to do with Glasgow except your fixation. You really need to get out of that vineyard it has you stocious altogether. May The Divine Child of Bethlehem grant you the gift of reality. P.S. just checked there were no arrivals from Gran Canaria in Glasgow last night. God Bless.

Pat, while you rightly ask that the abuse of a priest be thoroughly investigated and action taken, isn’t it strange that you then abuse a priest in effeminising his name – “fanny” ? And by circling those present, are you not descending to abuse of another kind? I’m confused about your mind at times!

Disobeying your bishop is wrong in the church but abuse is just fine.
It’s like the church teaches that sex should only be within marriage but really teaches that it’s just fine to be covered up and facilitated if it’s with a child.

Rights and obligations in any matter often can seem in conflict. However, the person who really wants to get to the truth and do the very best in any situation is the person who is able to embrace, respect and contain rights and obligations on every side. So, in the case of + Byrne, it is right that the alleged victim is supported and has all the care and concern that he needs. It is equally true that + Bryne himself, the alleged perpetrator, also has all the support that he needs in a time of great personal, professional, spiritual and emotional turmoil. Saying this does not in the slightest diminish the rights and obligations of either party. They both need to be addressed and honoured. Anybody of good will, any conciliator or intermediary, who wants to see justice and truth prevail will know that this obligation of care and concern has to be embraced for both parties.

+ McMahon is a bumptious, over confident big lout, and I don’t think he will take the slightest bit of notice of the letter you have sent him. He will do what he thinks is the best, for himself firstly, then for the institutional Church, and then for + Byrne. He won’t have the slightest interest in the alleged complainant / victim, or the truth and reality of what has allegedly taken place. So, do not expect a reply, + Pat. Rather keep publishing stuff on here. We all know that they, bishops and priests, take a look at this blog to find out what is being said, and to get a drift of the talk and who is doing what, where, how and with whom. Many bishops and clergy check in regularly in trepidation, crapping themselves that their names will appear on these pages. So, if nothing else, this blog keeps them on their toes, which is no bad thing. We wouldn’t want them feeling too comfortable, now, would we…?!

Like

Yes, one of the many valuable aspects of the blog is that it keeps bishops, priests and seminarians on their toes. Without the blog, things would be a lot worse and the Maynooth summer of love would have gone unnoticed and unchallenged. The bishops aren’t interested in clerical misbehaviour and abuse, the seminary formators turn a blind eye or are complicit themselves and the Catholic media have a “don’t ask, don’t tell” approach. Grossly unsuitable candidates still get ordained (eg Mullaney’s guests), but Pat has at least reduced the flow of them.

Why do people in the 21st century accept terms and conditions that belong in the middle ages? In my 40 odd years in the workplace I never had to put up with this. I can remember an incident in the 1970s when a 17 girl was being groomed by a middle aged married man. It was very quickly noticed and stopped. There have always been bullies and predators who prey on the vulnerable. It’s common in families and playgrounds… but there are usually people overseeing the group to nip it in the bud. Why does this not happen in the church? Have we not moved on from Peter Damian and the lack of interest by the Pope at the time? No matter how prettily the churches are dressed this Christmas, if this is allowed to go on, it merely skims and films the ulcerous place, whilst rank corruption mines all within. This really infects the whole body. It is gross.

Liked by 1 person

If you’re not familiar with it you may want to look up the case of Dominic Raab, a UK government minister with multiple complaints of bullying but who hasn’t even been suspended.
Corrupt institutions do this and you’re lucky not to have faced a workplace like that (I have, twice!).
Of course one would reasonably expect the one holy Catholic and apostolic church not to be like that. 😂

CLERICAL ABUSE ‘AN OPEN WOUND THAT HAS NEVER BEEN ABLE TO HEAL’ ADMITS ARCHBISHOP EAMON MARTIN
Church leader supports criminal prosecutions — and church should be open to official inquiries
Independent [Dublin, Ireland]
Rodney Edwards
December 18 2022
“The leader of the Catholic Church in Ireland has said he is “deeply ashamed” of the horrific sexual abuse inflicted on children by members of the Spiritan Order . More than 300 people have claimed to have been abused by 78 Spiritan priests at Blackrock College and other schools and colleges in Ireland dating back to the 1980s.
In an interview with the Sunday Independent, Archbishop Eamon Martin said clerical abuse in Ireland “is like an open wound that has never been able to heal”.

It’s good that he realises that it is still an open wound and is going to continue inflicting grievous harm on all concerned, not least the victims. The laity were considered in their response, at least initially, thinking that this was just, as they were told, “bad apples”. But the last 25 years have shown institutional and systemic rot at the heart of the Church, and people are beginning to realise this and decide that they do not want to be associated with it. Hence the empty pews and cleared out coffers. There is need for a radical approach to healing this wound. One suggestion – deal with and change the clerical culture. Start there and you will begin at digging out the wickedness and evil that has hurt so many and the Church. But, will they ….???

Like

Of course they won’t ! Remember, these are their mates, their confreres, part of the same clerical club and culture. This is the clerical culture that provides them with everything that they have and need. They are not going to bite the hand that feeds them. The only way that will happen is for the laity to impose their own ‘sanctions’, mainly just stopping giving money. Very quickly the clergy will notice and then they might realise that the time for radical and structural change is nigh. Money talks !

You miss the point: clerical culture itself is the problem; nothing else.
There shouldn’t be a clerical culture, because there shouldn’t be clergy.
Priesthood is redundant; has been for 2000 years. Jesus’ death and resurrection obviated it.

Dear Bishop Pat I with respect take
a different view on the U.K Nuncio ,
and his role in all this .He has had
in his person significant information
about an alleged sexual assault on a person .
So serious he has felt compelled to take
part in the removal of Bishop Billy Bunter from his post .
He has failed every day he has been in posesion of this
information to pass it on to the Police which should be
standard procedure. He has now kicked the can down
the road by passing the complaint on to another member
of the institution knowing he will soon be out the country ,
and unavailable to answer any Police questions if there
should at a later date be a Police Complaint .He has
acted totally incorrectly in this matter .He is not a good , decent man ,
but part of the cover up operation of the institution that does not
give a dam about the victim.

Very doubtful that 12:04 is a priest if they are claiming to be one, while in total agreement with the substance of what they’re saying.

A Priest (somehow I think not)
His Eminence Archbishop Gugerotti has played the role he has to he is a Papal Ambassador and reports to Rome which he most certainly would have done as he is a very capable Nuncio and that is why he has been promoted to a Prefect of a Dicastery of the Eastern Church and a Cardinal to follow.
Procedure is if there is a safeguarding issue then the Bishop reports it straight to the Police to investigate but there is NO safeguarding issue here as it is Adults.
It is the PRIEST who should have reported it to the Police and really again it is not the Nuncio’s role in any of this and even those not up in canon law knows this matter should be dealt with by Cardinal Marc Ouellet as he is in charge of Bishops and also Cardinal Pietro Parolin for Pope Francis as it is a Bishop that the complaint is against.
Archbishop Malcom can only take details and pass it on to Rome so it was incorrect of the Papal Nuncio as metropolitan Archbishops is really a name as they have no say in an other Diocese and Archbishop gugerotti should have passed it to Cardinal Ouelett.
Cardinal Ouellet would have appointed a Scottish or Irish Bishop to investigate as they did with KOB Cardinal Nichols was appointed and even sent to celebrate the funeral.
This looks like a stich up by the Bishops of England and Wales and I pray that Archbishop Gugerotti has informed Rome as I do not see the Police being interested it will be a canonical trail by Rome and God willing Byrne will be kicked out.
Archbishop Malcolm is even in the same Metropolitan area they should have asked another to look at it but it will be Cardinal Ouellet and Pope Francis that will decide if they are told as it looks like Archbishop Gugerotti wants it kept in England till he goes.

Well!!If that isn’t the funniest scenario I have heard in a while, whoops, of course, it’s the Roman Catholic church and, it’s hierarchy we are talking about here.
Cardinal Ouellet alleged sex abuser (woman) and the sexual abuser complicit enabler Francis, who will decision will make final decision on, another alleged sex abuser (man) Oratorian Bishop’s outcome.
Something is putrid here.

I am afraid we do not know all the facts or time scale. The priest
victim (?) is an adult and if he is able to make complaints to church authorities and PB he is able to go to the police.
The Nuncio has done all he can in the few remaining days he has left in the UK.
Why has the priest not gone to the police? It would seem that he wants the church to sort it out. That has started by the removal of the bishop and the investigation by the metropolitan. It has been mentioned by another poster that it would have been better from Scotland or Ireland. A bit like what the police constabularies do to give some sort of independence. I agree with that.
Let’s not get too carried away. Let’s stop the lynch mob mentality. The mob usually get it wrong.

If you keep up to speed ALL Prefects of the Dicasteries will be Cardinals as in your days it would be called Congregations however the Holy Father Francis changed it.
Archbishop Gugerotti from mid Januray will be Prefect for the Easern Churches (used to be called Oriental Churches) and therefore will be made a Cardinal next year and if you can cast your mind bach it was the same for Cardinal Arthur Roche.
We await two more appointments to the Dicastery for Bishops and the Diacastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Your daily reminder at 12:39 that cathbots have NO understanding of how abuse and sexual violence works or how it affects the target. Otherwise they would both know that only a minority of sexual offences ever get reported, and have an understanding of the well-established reasons why this is.

I am not a ‘cathbot’; exceedingly far from it. But I genuinely don’t understand why alleged victims of abuse in the Church, especially these days, continue to trust an institution ‘corrupt, and riddled with corruption’ ( and one which historically protects clerical abusers) to take seriously and impartially their accusations against priests, in particular, bishops.

I ask again: are they stupid? Is this what implicit, unquestioning faith does to a person’s cognitive ability?
