WAS DECEASED CANON MC COY OF H&N OFFERED A BISHOPRIC AND A JOB IN THE CONGREGATION FOR BISHOPS IN ROME?

Canon Mc Coy killed himself

Today, I have been told two new things with regards to Canon McCoy, the close friend of disgraced Bishop Robert Byrne, who appointed him Dean of H&N cathedral.

BYRNE

A ROMAN APPOINTMENT?

I have been told that the late  Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor offed McCoy a job in theRoman Curia as an official in the Congregation of Bishops.

MURPHY O’CONNOR

McCoy declined the appointment. My informant said that Mc Coy was concerned that his “secrets” might get out?

AN ENGLISH BISHOPRIC?

I have also been told that Archbishop Malcolm Mc Mahon of Liverpool offered Mc Coy the position of auxiliary bishop of Liverpool and that Mc Coy again refused the offer.

ARCHBISHOP MC MAHON

Was Mc Coy again afraid that preferment might expose his active homosexuality and his penchant for inviting young men to gay sex parties?

MC COY ORGANISING PARTIES FOR YOUNG MALES AS A SCHOOL CHAPLAIN.

A young lady speaks about Mc Coy and his parties for teenage school boys.

I am a former Catholic school girl, and Father Michael was our school’s priest. When I was 18/19 in about 2006/2007, I attended parties at his home in the parish (when he was at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Penshaw, Sunderland). The only reason I was there was because my boyfriend at the time and his friends were invited. There tended to be a group of young men who were included too – they will have been in my year, so in sixth form at the school at the time. The invitations were primarily extended to young men, and by default or association, young women might be there too. We were drinking, of course. “

Father Mc Coy had been involved in youth work for many years

CANON MC COY

The continuing stories and revelations about Canon Mc Coy……causing immense disquiet among the UK’s Catholic bishops and priests.…….as they contemplate where all this might eventually lead….. 😞

Well, at least he had the sense to refuse ordination to the episcopate. I wonder if he had refused to join the cathedral chapter and dean’s role, he might still be alive. Both his and Bunter’s downfall should remind those nominated with skeletons in their closets to run for the hills. People whom you may have long forgotten and have slighted or abused in any way have the annoying habit of resurfacing when you least suspect it.

Ha ha ha it’s so obvious that homosexuality and degrees (thirty three) of corruption are part and parcel of the appointment of bishops and the glue wich holds it together.
It’s unraveling with Byrne and McMahon wants the world to know that underneath his gauche bumbling oafish nature he’s a flamboyantly gay man hence the Cappa Magna tenderly held by his acolytes following him behind from the rear. My God the phallic symbolism is glaring and the colour purple or red throbs with homoerotic sub text. Oh and McMahon invited McCoy to be an auxiliary in Liveroool because that’s how it works – forget the Holy Spirit and think gay men manouvering their favs!!

CMOC wasn’t very good at spotting candidates for episcopal spaces – Conry was one of his proteges, and look how that ended ?! And now this story about McCoy. At least McCoy had the presence of mind to realise that his nefarious activities and predilections probably would be uncovered if he raised his profile any higher. If McCoy knew that he could be uncovered at any time, I am sure that many others knew about his activities within the diocese, especially amongst fellow priests. It begs the question why they didn’t do something about it ?

Because they never do. For the same reason no cleric ever suspects any kiddy fiddling going on and any concerns are always raised by the laity.

Not all therapies works as they don’t have a magic wand. That’s why previous one didn’t work cos of audio/aural approach.
The other one that did work for me was Peter Levine’s method but the therapist had quit all of his clients from towards healing and left. No reason was given.
Why i mentioned new age groups was that i was SEEKING healing from abuses, Hence new age therapies offered me something else but it didnt work out at the end cos of demonic element in it. Haven’t been to new age therapies since 2008.

Or is that only applicable to you and me when a similar litany of accusations and concerns is laid at our door ? I guess it’s hard to resist ecclesiastical preferment, but bishops Bunter, Conroy, O’Brien, Roddy Wright and Canon McCoy should be examples of the folly of accepting honours and a higher profile with secrets. Politicians are the same – so many think they can keep stuff burried – it always surfaces. The nuncio should make them swear an affidavit that there is nothing which could embarrass the church in their past before accepting the nomination.

Like

Nonsense. Paul of Tarsus had plenty in his past (not just murder, but, yes, even the mass murder of christians) which could have embarrased the original church; instead of hiding it, he made a clean breast of it in Acts. (Read in particular Chapter 10.)

We all have pasts; we all are in need of repentance and conversion. These are the things that ultimately matter, not our sins.

Any Romanist bishop (like JPII and PE Benedict) who attempted to present a squeaky-clean moral image of themselves I’d laugh at, and then proceed to a little research about them. Leave no stone unturned, and all that. You’d eventually find something crawling in the dirt, like the cover-up of child-sexual abuse, and the protection of predatory and criminal paedophile/ephebophile Romanist priests.

I know a couple of priests who have been called to the Nuncio’s and told they have been appointed a bishop by the Holy Father, only for the priests to have to tell the Nuncio that there are huge rattling skeletons in their cupboards and that they will not accept. Cue ranting and raving from the Nuncio. Cue embarrassment at the discreet enquiries and intelligence that the Nuncio / Vatican / Congregation of Bishops are supposed to have done. Very embarrassing ! Of course, some new bishops think they can get away with it and tough it out, but the truth will out eventually, and then it all ends in tears. Many priests simply refuse to accept a mitre these days, seeing it as an impossible job and a poison chalice, so it is often fourth or fifth in the list that eventually gets the job. You can see the results in the episcopal quality, more accurately in the lack of it.

I remember attending the Association of Chaplains in Catholic Education in the late 1990s when McCoy was a prominent leader. One event was held at Ushaw, and it was painful. Scented candles and pebbles in bowl stuff, and all sat around a coffee table mass. O’Keefe was the President, and one of the liberal nuns herself in standard M&S navy mistook him for the coach driver who was to take us to Lindisfarne for the day. It’s about time Douai is highlighted, it is not the sleepy goody-goody backwater it would like us to believe.
I cannot forget or forgive, that during Gregory’s time as Abbot of Douai during the early nineties. Guess who was appointed? A serial sexual abuser of boys, now incarcerated for his sexual crimes carried out at Westminster choir school London and, Ampleforth College Yorkshire, after sexually abusing at those two Roman Catholic boarding schools, Douai Abbey school (now defunct) took Lowe the sexual abuser ephebophile on, as vice principal for years.
There is no way Douai would not have been aware of Lowes filthy history, I wish I could say the same for the fee-paying parents.
Was Lowe related to anyone in either Westminster, Ampleforth or, Douai, to be awarded such preferential treatment, despite his criminal activity? It it most peculiar that each Roman Catholic school one after another gave him employment. However, on reflection, isn’t that what is done with sex abuser Roman Catholic priests, parish to parish, country to county, Continent to continent to continue their violation of children and minors with impunity.

Lourdes Pilgrimages now there an area of scrutiny and investigation all by itself.
This much I know every diocesan pilgrimage has a dark and unpleasant underbelly and underworld.
Starting with Birmingham – a viscous clique run by gossipy old Queens and sycophantic clerically obsessed lay hanger one’s.
Gerry Breen was in charge for years and had a gaggle of female acolytes who gossiped about everything and everyone – moaning and complaining every evening deep into the night.
I imagine the motto of Lourdes is what goes on in Lourdes stays in Lourdes – poor deluded parents who send their kids to play nursemaids and dogsbodies only to be exploited and manipulated.
Very hierarchical- one mad old bint Dr Pat Cosby ruled the rust and she was like Gerry Breen’s personal dominatrix – the more bossy she was the more he relished it – he had a thing for her shoes and feet.
My advice give the Lourdes pilgrimage a wide birth if you value your faith.
Same as that junket to LA that RE coordinators go on – gloried piss up and gossip fest and God knows what else.
Birmingham is an especially nasty one.

Tell your friend that sadly I’m Sopers case it was Abbot (Bishop) and fugitive all rolled into one. Currently serving a lengthy gaol sentence at his majesty’s great pleasure.
The Benedictines are toast my friend – a nefarious and criminal fraternity whose homosexuality and pedestery is legend.

5.54pm. The worst monastery for abuse in the world, bar none, is the notoriously liberal Collegeville.

6:45 How do you square that with the usual cathbot claim that ‘catholic’ clergy are no more abusive than anyone else? 😂

Homosexuality is destroying not just the Catholic Church but the West in general. With the result that the war in Ukraine is existential to the survival of the gay disco. This poor Argentinian pope is stuck in the 1970’s when gay discos were for the most part ignored by the majority and the idea of going to war over their existence was preposterous.

Pick of the week – Nolly
“We all have equal status,” says Crossroads matriarch Noele Gordon (a beguiling Helena Bonham Carter) to a new cast member. “The star of the show is the motel.” But that wasn’t entirely true, as ATV found out in 1981 when they tried to sack “Nolly” to precipitate the end of the show. Gordon was evidently the star – in fact, she was the only thing holding the cheerfully low-rent and extremely popular daytime potboiler together. This drama, written by Russell T Davies, makes something sweetly melancholy out of seemingly trivial source material. Ostensibly, the story is about the machinations of the TV industry, but really it’s about mortality and wounded pride.
ITVX, from Thursday 2 February

Bishop Pat I will be travelling with the Armagh pilgrimage to Lourdes on 23-28 May. I will be having my camera at the ready along with my friend especially at night if these priests are misbehaving. I will be keeping you fully informed of all the goings on. Our Lady does not want this carrying on at such a lovely shrine.

7:14 I love on here when the blog is about monks or religious and the secular priests whine because they were hoping another of their colleagues would get caught.
But tell us how it’s not about you. 😱

Bishop Pat, Paddy McCafferty had preached absolutely denunciatory sermons about you since your blog the other day about him, Donaghy, Loughran and Walsh.
One of them was in front of school children. He needs to be taken into care. He’s not well.

The whole Canon McCoy affair is a sorry tale from day 1 a repressed gay man with a kind heart hiding behind the cloth but then terrified when a malicious allegation threatened to put him into the spotlight. At the end a bird in a gilded cage of his own making…..then the fallout, safeguarding and Bishop Byrne in tatters with the newspapers having a field day at everyone’s expense and Michael McCoy not innocent either as many others which will come to light in due course but remember let those without sin cast the first stone as the Catholic Church is rotten to the core !! It’s a funny old world when a brother commits suicide and you’re left with his personal effects unplanned what they reveal …..everything comes to those that wait

The first true positive comment on Fr Michael MC Coy I’ve read. He was a very kind caring man who had a rare quality for a priest – he always said thank you for any help given to him. Sadly the weak side of him was his demise but to the people he served he was a hardworking devoted priest and the families he supported will always remember what he did for them. I acknowledge your blog reveals so much people have a right to know about the ‘hidden church ” be it fraud, abuse or more but there are some extremely childish spiteful remarks which show many sad priests who perhaps should have the courage to leave the Church they have lost respect for and make a more positive contribution in the real world.

Michael McCoy summed up entirely correctly ,not perfect, but helped hundreds in his career and missed by most he encountered if he had been born in a different era he wouldn’t have had to be afraid and compromise himself let the other priests on this blog learn something please

McCoy was a VEC contemporary of Bishop Stock, Bishop Arnold, Bishop Hudson and not to mention Canon Shield his opposite number in Lancaster and Michael Raiswell- a suicide.

I am not persuaded by the assertion that McCoy was being prepared for a Rome appointment- his skills in Italian were poor and I believe that he did not possess a Pontifical licentiate- whatever worth that may have.
They would be absolute prerequisites before any such move to a Roman dicastery.

I agree with the previous contributors statement about Michael- it is as much a statement about Augustine”s legacy to the Church as anything- this is the tragic result.
