ARCHBISHOP’S LETTER TO PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS

RESPONSE TO THE SUNDAY TIMES

PAT SAYS
To date. Archbishop McMahon has handled the Byrne Scandal well.
He has involved the police, the Charity Commissioners, the National Safeguarding Agency, and the Vatican.
He has written to the priests and people of the diocese.
He sent me a very reassuring letter after my complaint to the Papal Nuncio.
And it’s good that the national media have picked it up.
This week. I had calls from journalists from the national newspapers, the BBC, and the North of England media.
I think the story will run, and I expect more embarrassing details to emerge.
The media has also discovered the name of the priest who is allegedly the victim of the sexual assault by Robert Byrne.
I have known that priest’s name from the beginning, but as he is a victim, I decided not to name him.
I did tell the Nuncio the name.

Well Done Bishop Pat – keep shining the light on these matters. You got the ball rolling and now the media are obviously extremely interested and will also keep digging. Safeguarding is paramount but if the RCC won’t do it themselves the onus is on every decent citizen to do it for them for the greater good and safety of society.

Nothing happens unless Pat intervenes, eg the Summer of Love, Roscrea, this case and many others. Issues are ignored and swept under the carpet because bishops and seminary staff won’t do anything unless they are shamed into action by Pat’s blog. Pat should be made the Chief Operating Officer/Sageguarding Officer/General Secretary of each of the episcopal conferences of Britain and Ireland!

There is so much on this blog about LGBTQ and the Church. Can someone explain how Bishop Byrne allowed the Diocese to openly and regularly have a LGBTQ group meeting in St Andrews Church Newcastle where mass is celebrated once a month for the group on a Tues evening? This church is only a mile from the Cathedral and Gay bar area of the city.

Well, here’s an example of the RC’s trying to get it right for once. However, no doubt we’ll have the moronic hate-filled Calvinists who infest this blog, replying with their repeating sex-starved donkey eructations that the Catholic church is fundamentally evil and can do no right. These people worship a God which creates one group of humans to go to heaven, and one to be tortured in hell. If God is truly like that, I would rather be in hell. Atheism is preferable. Hitler proclaimed one race to deserve paradise, and one to go to the gas chambers. What’s the difference? Calvinism is fundamentally hate-filled, hence fundamentally evil. Now wave your hands about in a blur and shout some more, you bibliolatrous idiots.

Will you cover the story of Bishop Stika’s alleged pattern of trying to intimidate victim who alleges he was raped by a seminarian on another day please?
In a lawsuit, the victim, a former church employee, alleges that the Diocese of Knoxville tried to discredit him and did not properly investigate his sexual abuse allegations.
Bishop Richard Stika told a roomful of priests at a May 2021 meeting at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus that the victim had the whole story backward and falsely alleged that the victim bringing the lawsuit is the predator. The lawsuit relies on the evidence of a priest who was present.
The lawsuit victim alleges that the Roman Catholic Church is trying to intimidate victims.
Anyone reading your blog and other sources can see that this is a daily tactical occurrence by the Roman Catholic mafia and their lay teams worldwide.

There was an apostolic visitation the end of November 2022 I don’t know the result or, even if has been published, Strika sounds like another little Hitler, he sound utterly dangerous.
Why would Strika continue to protect the alleged sex abuser/rapist seminarian who apparently had being in at least two other Roman Catholic seminaries and was kicked out allegedly for sex abuse, he even took the said abuser into his home.
The seminarian is Polish as was Strika’s Mother, would that have a bearing on Strika’s behaviour?
What is the relationship between Strika and the seminarian?
I think Pat would do well to steer well clear of Strika.

Jesus wept!! I think only Cardinals such as the Burke crone are allowed to wear red Cappa Magna, others apparently wear a purple one.
Has McMahon got idea above his station.
Each time I see one of those old farts wearing it I see red, its use was abolished in 1969, I wonder when McMahon wore this one?
I have to say I find it ridiculous, it serves no liturgical purpose, only to show off. I fancy the late Liberace would look flamboyant in that. Is it drag queen by the backdoor, one has to ask?
Instead of impressing, I would cringe seeing one of those silly blokes cavorting down the aisle in one of those, my mind would suddenly drift onto thoughts of very non religious drift.

POPE ACCEPTS RESIGNATION OF POWERFUL CANADIAN CARDINAL ACCUSED BY TWO WOMEN – Response from BishopAccountability.org
VATICAN CITY (VATICAN CITY)

January 30, 2023.
By Anne Barrett Doyle
“Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Cardinal Marc Ouellet from his powerful position as prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops.
This sudden event occurs less than two weeks after a French Catholic publication revealed that a second woman has accused the cardinal of sexual abuse. The timing is suggestive, and it raises troubling questions about the Pope’s possible complicity. Now would be a good time for Francis to practice the transparency he recently espoused. He should account for his seemingly reckless disregard of two women’s allegations. He should also tell us why the cardinal is stepping down now. Was Ouellet subject to a Vos Estis investigation? Is his departure from office a sanction?…”https://www.bishop-accountability.org/2023/01/pope-accepts-resignation-of-powerful-canadian-cardinal-accused-by-two-women-response-from-bishopaccountability-org/

Who will be the next Bishop of H&N will be the question. It will have to be someone already a Bishop due to the current issues as a first appointment would struggle. When you look at the E&W Bishop’s Conference in terms of age, diocese size, service length, current responsibilities etc… only 3 names come up as being potential candidates. Swarbrick, Hudson and McKinney. In an ideal world Swarbrick would be the best option. He is a Northman so understands the local culture, he can reform the legacy of a predecessor as already shown, he has predominantly pastoral experience and finally he is an affable approachable prelate who has no interest in dressing up or the latin mass. H&N needs that style of a Bishop not Byrne’s type…
