OUTCOME OF H&N MEETING BETWEEN PRIESTS AND MC MAHON.

Mc Mahon

FROM H&N PARISHIONER ON BEHALF OF MANY OTHERS:

Good evening,

I’m part of the Hexham and Newcastle diocese and have been following the McCoy and Byrne stories since they broke. Can I say it doesn’t shock me at all. McCoy was my parish priest and I never got a good vibe from him. He faffed too much and would tell the congregation every week how they weren’t raising enough money for him…I mean the diocese.

I was just wondering if you had heard anything from the archbishops meeting with the priests from Thursday? I hope it won’t be covered up and swept under the carpet. I think the people of Hexham and Newcastle deserve to know. It annoys me the people who are burying their heads in the sand and don’t want to believe what actually went on.

Many thanks for raising issues and concerns. It means a lot.

Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle: Meeting with Archbishop Malcolm McMahon.

There is frustration among some priests regarding the meeting with Archbishop McMahon on Thursday 9th January. The Archbishop gave a summary of the various investigations stating that what he shared with priests at the meeting was confidential.

What is clear is that anyone can express concerns, questions or comments about the diocese to the investigation for the Vatican that is being lead on behalf of Bishop Malcolm by Mrs Carol Lawrence, the Chief Operation Officer of the Diocese of Shrewsbury. The investigation will be looking at all aspects of diocesan life , so anyone is welcome to contact the investigation.

CAROL LAWRENCE

Carol Lawrence said:

I would be keen to hear from anyone who would like to share with me their experiences and views. In line with the Terms of Reference individual meetings with stakeholders will be arranged over the coming weeks, and I should like to begin by extending the offer of a meeting to any priest who would like to talk to me. I am happy to meet preferably in person, or to speak on the phone, or indeed to receive correspondence from you by email or by post.

You can contact me by email at carolHNinvestigation@gmail.com or by telephone on 07930 891327 to share information with me or to request to meet, or write to me at Diocese of Shrewsbury, 2 Park Road South, Prenton CH43 4UX. Please mark any postal correspondence ‘Private and Confidential’.

Not another ‘chief operating officer’!!!! Of course EGAN is a priest of SHREWSBURY. Is there any update on PORTSMOUTH Bishop Pat?

UUUHHH ? So, nothing really ? Just there is an investigation ? The co-ordinator of comments, views, experiences etc is some chubby redhead from Shrewsbury ? That’s it ? Oh, come on, there must be much more that was said, shared ? And, as the parishioner from H&N rightly asks, we would like to know what was said, what happened, and what is known. After all, it’s all being done on our ticket.

I’m kind of strangely relieved that no priests have spoken about the meeting. It shows that fraternity still exists amongst the H and N clergy, or at least is returning now the Prince Bishop has gone. We have some excellent priests.
Honestly we really do, and they are many hardworking guys who are much loved.
I’m sure his closest collaborators will not come out well after this good lady completes her investigation, which the clergy are clearly waiting for.
Trust is being restored under the Archbishop, and many lay people like myself in the diocese, await honesty and openness in the report(s).
Yes, senior clergy will be changed, moves will have to made. But hopefully now lay people will again have a say once more, and will be listened too and valued again. We people and priests will start working together again, like before 2019 when we did, rather just a very small group of clergy deciding everything.

The meeting was for clergy. Not for laity. So it’s right that it’s not been shared. Especially not on here.

Stand against Roman Catholic Fatwa on Reporters Of Church related abuse, corruption and criminality.says:

12:23 The Roman Catholic Church has zero right to keep any more secrets. It is completely funded by both members of the public who are church attendees and also by the non-RC taxpayer through the various government subsidies and grants that it receives. The RC has a long and consistent history acknowledged by international human rights organisations of dehumanising and torturing victims of church related abuse by clergy and its inner circle lay membership. It’s also high time to highlight the Fatwa that senior Roman Catholic clergy have been instigating against legitimate complainants on issues of church related sexual and financial abuse.

At this stage it is clear that protecting the interests of the RC is the one and only priority. There is zero regard for victims, survivors and zero moral compass.

Newcastle City Council and Northumbria Police should be investigating plus all other regional authorities / police forces where allegations have been made. They are the statutory authorities, fully qualified and salaried to do this work – not an ‘in house’ team of ‘investigators.’ That is the Law – not the twisted law of any church which seeks to contaminate and act against God’s Law, through Christ – called the ‘10 Commandments’.

There is nothing to see of ‘love’ in shrouds of secrecy and shrouds of collusion. Even when a ‘parishioner’ responds with apparent positive cliches to Pat, already used by other parishioners. All trust has gone. Shrouds are for dead bodies and our once loved church is putrefying in one. This ‘investigation thing’ is just another joke using business jargon.

Mocking the Holy Spirit. The Spirit which YOU have taught us since childhood. How dare you? Is this investigative procedure on a par with the sexual, psychological, emotional, neglectful, physical abuse that celibacy and sexism rules create? I feel that might be offensive to abused people. I am sorry if that is so but we only have to look at the history. Ampleforth, Downside et al.

Our Father, who art in Heaven. Sullied be Thy Name. I am sorry beyond measure for ever having trusted and loved this Church. Loving and caring for my friends in a parish keeps me and doubtless others – going. Amen and prayers ongoing against the mockery of God’s House.

The Chief Operating Officer! Confirmation if you needed it, that the RCC is run as a PLC. You won’t see it listed in FTSE though as it doesn’t pay tax and it’s Masonic structure and lack of transparency wouldn’t pass muster
with statutory authorities.
Don’t waste your time going to see this lackey. If you do, don’t go alone, go in a group or with a witness. They will whitewash anything that brings their putrid criminal organisation into disrepute.

Fr McCoy succumbed to the heavy burden of his conscience in the end.
Or more likely his fear of prosecution, public shaming, and imprisonment.
The bottom line is that once again victims of abuse are denied acknowledgment or justice.

Another Fr Brendan Smyth – clergy don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves.

Priests Will kill themselves rather than provide their victims with an opportunity to heal from the dreadful things priests do to children and anyone they can isolate and control and target and all these volunteers and community groups they have knowingly cover up for them.

‘Fr’ Brendan Smyth? Don’t ever refer to that animal as ‘Fr’. He is not worthy of the title. He is an absolute dirty cunt.

Liked by 1 person

11:55 Nobody can disagree with your estimate of him and so sorry if you are one of his victims.
However continuing to call him Fr reinforces that by being ordained he was confirmed to have a vocation to be a priest and was called by God. The catlicks need to be continually reminded of this slight problem with their religion because they’d love to have you forget it.

Pat if a fellow priest turned out to be a notorious child abuser and had the same name as you would you not change your name?

Like

1:37 No, because there’s a high probability you’d have to change your name yet again as the RC isn’t dealing with the issues it is creating.

Surely the Bishop is Chief Operation Officer of his diocese? As with the NHS the Church is overrun with highly paid bureaucrats in pointless jobs.

10:07 Au contraire!

When it comes to running an internationally recognised abuser of human rights of the child, women and vulnerable persons and with a most shamefully inadequate or to put it straight an almost non existent record of redress, naturally, the modus operandi to continue receiving State funding, Grants etc., is to employed highly experienced executives, they are worth their weight in gold to the RCC Mafia.

After all, ultimately they keep the show on the road in light of ongoing falling church attendance.

Much more focus should be spotlighted on the identity and backgrounds of paid and volunteering church laity worldwide. Their backgrounds in the professions are highly relevant and instrumental to the ongoing gaslighting and manipulation of victims, survivors and whistleblowers.

I think you will find that bishop’s of a certain bent will always engineer having a bit of eye candy around the place, either as the housekeeper or cook or gardener or perhaps as his priest secretary. Think Benedict and Georg who were together for decades, but Benny originally set his eyes on Georg when he was a delectable 30 years old something and never let hmi out of his sight from then on. Still on Georg, has Franky evicted Georg from his Vatican quarters yet ? Oh dear, the surviving partners always get treat terribly when their protector has gone.

Pat I was really humbled by your readers honesty yesterday upon his HIV test. I wish him the best. I would like to stress the importance of testing and knowing. I was unfortunate that I found out I was positive after possibly acquiring the virus about 7-9 years ago and I have AIDS. I could have prevented this with early testing and want to encourage all clergy and lay alike to make this month a month where they all test. I am only 34 and my life expectancy is not looking good due to a late diagnosis. I wish you and all a pleasant day and future.

Thank you Ronnie and Bishop Pat. I think it would be nice if we could meet up around November and prepare some sort of event for world aids day in December. I have hiv + t shirts that I wear unapologetically and proud all year round. Generally the reaction is positive but in life we will always get those who have nothing good to say at all. Good luck Ronnie 🤞🏾

Thank you, Callum. I posted the blood sample last night and will receive a text when it arrives at the laboratory, a text if it is negative, and a telephone call if reactive 3 days later. They won’t confirm a positive result until you have had a full blood test at a centre. I walk past the Bloomsbury Clinic in London every day for work and had not realised what it was until researching all this and finally deciding to test. The Bloomsbury clinic will treat you wherever you live in the UK. I can’t say I am not nervous – however, I feel a sense of relief at finally taking the test and will just have to cope with whatever the result is. I hope all is going well with you. From what I’ve read, even if your CD4 count is below 300, ART can help to increase it and protect your immune system.

This is very true. I have lots of triggers to my alcoholism, the problem I have is that I like the taste of it and the social aspect of it. AA never worked for me, they are all about abstinence. I am about damage control and risk reduction. Drinking only in social circumstances and no house drinking is important for me. You have a commentator ‘Eamon’ who regularly posts here boasting of getting his stomach pumped etc and I think he is totally irresponsible. He should try and do what I do. Enjoy it responsibly.

Good question – what happened to the Priest Retirement Fund? Was Egan investigated or has it all blown over and he gets to do what he wants?

Like

It is disappointing that there is an apparent lack of transparency surrounding this investigation – how is trust ever to be restored? I hope that all complaints submitted under the previous management are to be re-examined. As acknowledged by previous commentators abuse takes many forms, including bullying by priests. Given the reference to the xbishop’s lackeys trying to close down open debate in the post by Adm at 10.45, how can there be any confidence that under previous management all complaints were investigated justly.

Like

Don’t expect transparency expect cover up and damage limitation – see it from there point of view – sex parties during Covid, bishop sexuality assaulting a priest, suicide of priest accused of child abuse – his computer industrialy cleaned before he died, Gardner convicted of downloading 5000 images living with the bishop, sacking of Dermot Donnelly replaced with McCoy, etc etc etc will discourage donations and impact on bottom line and balance sheet – so trust me they will appear like they are investigating but they will be mitigating the damage like their lives and livelihood depends on it.
They live to bury bad news.

I think that any of the problems that H&N or other diocese have in this part of the world, they pale in to insignificance compared to the looming accountability, legal and financial problems that are facing US dioceses. Have a look at this from the Diocese of San Diego (Cardinal McElroy – https://sdcatholic.org/news-release/diocese-considering-bankruptcy-in-light-of-pending-abuse-claims/) and what they are facing on account of the lifting of the statute of limitations on abuse crimes and the cases that they now will have to face. To the turn of $550 million, on top of the $175 million they have already forked out. Their liability is seemingly endless. Bankruptcy looms. Yes, the legal systems are different in the US compared to the UK / Ireland etc., but whatever difficulties dioceses over here face they are as nothing compared with what happens across the Pond. Maybe it would shake all of our bishops out of their complacency if they were all to face bankruptcy ! Perhaps losing all their worldly goods would end up with a Church that was humbled, cleansed and pure and able to start again. That would also involve a clear out of clergy and bishops, who have consistently shown themselves venal and criminal. It is going to take something as fundamental and radical as that in order to rid the Church of the pollution and sin that has taken it over. Then the Phoenix can rise from the ashes. Only then.

Dioceses only file bankruptcy to AVOID paying damages, it’s just another way of preserving their lucre.

Big Mick Lomasney died with HIV – I don’t know if it had progressed to AIDS or whether he was diagnosed and receiving treatment, but he was only 59. All of his sexual partners would have been at risk. Too many priests and seminarians are fearful to test as it reveals they have not lived up to their promises. A good bishop would encourage his priests to be tested and receive appropriate medical care so they can go on to live happy and healthy lives.

So the narrative is that Byrne was a respected Founder and leader of the Oxford Oratory, his skills fitted the role of auxiliary bishop which he served without blemish and then when transposed to Newcastle things regrettably went wrong and he would be the first perosn to admitt it that he felt overwhelmed and out of his depth? I don’t have any confidence in an investigation in to any Church affair, including the Bobby Byrne imbroglio, which is an internal investigation done by people connected to the Church. They are simply marking their own homework. If they really do want to get to the truth of what went on and what lessons can be learned they should have an investigation that is done by a wholly independent and non-Church connected organisation, giving them full access to everything and everybody. Actually, I think people would speak more freely if they were talking to someone genuinely independent rather than someone who will be making decisions about them and their lives and their futures going forward. Nothing will come out of the Byrne / H&N investigation except a litany of trite, twee, saccharine nothings. Watch that space.
