MY RECENT CORRESPONDENCE WITH A CORK PP.

FATHER JERRY CREMIN

EMAIL FROM FATHER JERIMIAH CREMIN PP KILBRITTAIN, CORK.

MY REPLY

HIS SECOND MESSAGE

MY SECOND REPLY

PAT SAYS

Very often, people and priests I’ve never met feel the need to come at me with all their teeth bared and all their fangs outstretched.

I wrongly published Fr Jerry’s pic in error and removed it immediately heard from him.

It would have been wrong and unjust not to do so.

Mind you, my mistake was a bit forgivable as both Fr Cremins share the same surname and look quite alike.

I mostly reply gently to take the sting out of the correspondence, and it generally has the effect of making the other party more relaxed – as it did in this case.

I’m sure that Fr Jerry is a nice man and a good priest to his parishioners.

I’m sure if we met, we could be friendly and chatty and probably agree to differ.

He seems to be a supporter of the Latin Mass.

My main objection to the Latin Mass is the fact that it is being used as a weapon against Vatican II, Francis, and the Vatican II Mass that I celebrate.

I get it that many bishops and priests do not like this blog or its author.

But as Diarmuid Martin told me:

“The truth is still the truth, even if its revolting”

So, Fr Jeremiah Cremin considers that a blog that assists victims and survivors of Roman Catholic Church related abuse and wrong doing a “scumbag blog”. As a close family member of one of the many victims thrown to the wolves by Cremins scumbag church, it’s clear to the majority of the population who have walked away who the real scumbag is and it’s certainly not this blog or Bishop Patrick Buckley.

Like

Obviously bringing back the Latin mass has made Father approach people with gentleness and kindness. 😂

I feel like blog should be libellus but my acquaintance with Marcus Valerius Martialis is too far distant for a good equivalent of scumbag to leap to mind. Can anyone help?

Like

Actually I swear Martial was thinking (in 12:61) of this blog:

You are afraid, Ligurra, I should write verses on you, and some short and lively poem, and you long to be thought a man that justifies such fear.

But vain is your fear, and your longing is vain. Against bulls Libyan lions rage, they are not hostile to butterflies.

Look out, I advise you, if you are anxious to, be read of, for some dark cellar’s sottish poet, one who with coarse charcoal or crumbling chalk scrawls poems which people read in the jakes.

Your brow is not one to be marked by my brand.

Like

Sacculum bloggus? No?
Yeah, I know “bloggus” wasn’t around back in the day, but can’t we be a liitle innovative? Just to show that Latin isn’t as dead as a dodo?

The bishops’ meeting is taking place in Maynooth this week, Monday to Wednesday. So Tom will be feeling the heat.
Phonsie has some event to do with vocations taking place there on Wednesday. I believe it’s open to the public. So Pat, there’s your opportunity.

Like

Ah! But would Phonsie be able to control himself on seeing Pat there? Would Phonsie not make a fool of himself again?

Like

The GAA is gone very rough, featured in the National Irish news headlines again today for violence on the pitch. Parents hitting volunteers coaches just because their little Johnny didn’t get all his own way.

+Pat, you are a necessary evil in the Irish Church. Of course, you are also a product of the institution. I find it fascinating that Fr Jeremy Cremin refers to your “scumbag blog”. This is a view that many people have about your blog, however, they secretly check-in with it every day.
I can empathise with his annoyance because any clerical appears on your blog does so usually for something nefarious. And the priest in question would be going nowhere fast if he was anticipating support from Bishop Gavin.
It is good that you acknowledged your mistake and apologised because in the long run it gives the blog greater credibility.

. Fr Jeremiah Cremin clearly does not appreciate all the good work and service that your blog does in bringing abusive clerics to account. It really does not inspire confidence in the future of the RCC when one experiences the wrath of how far clerics & their cohorts will go to carry on regardless in attempting to ignore the deluge of legitimate abuse allegations pending worldwide. All they seem interested in is shutting everyone up about it. Very concerning attitude from priests & their company.

Like

Glad that was cleared up. Poor man must have been chewing his nails for a while with consternation.
But ‘scumbag blog’ (nice, Jesus-y language)? Bit rich for a chap who cashed in whatever conscience he had (and it can’t have been much) on the day he was ordained to serve an institution ‘corrupt, and riddled with corruption’.

Like

Idiot comment, at 8.17. The Church is the visible manifestation of Christ, both physically and spiritually.
He who gives himself to the Church gives himself to Christ.
Priests are holy.

Like

Does that mean when priests rape children Jesus is being manifested? Or is he mysteriously absent at those times?

Like

9:53 Exactly. And I love the gospel passage where Jesus tells the apostles to move a priest on to rape again when the complaints start coming. ♥️

Like

Are you blaming Christ for abuse corruption and crime in RCC…?
Maybe you’re a member of Opus Dei. Anyway, you need debriefing.

Like

Jesus gave power to his priests to decide what is and what is not sin (what you bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven), which means that Jesus takes his lead from the Church. It alone decides what is sinful.

So when the Church ordered that sexual abuse be dealt with “in the utmost secrecy”, it was Christ who was speaking.

I beg to differ. Many Roman Catholic priests are religious, few are holy, very similar to the secular (I was going to write faithful, but,) followers of Catholicism. I wonder if we we are all heathens at heart, just hedging our bets.

Like

I really despair at the comment saying priests are holy. Is this person being deliberately deceitful or downright stupid and uneducated?

Like

Priests are holy by virtue of their office. This is what is meant by their being called “alter Christi” (“other Christs”).
Christ was/is holy; therefore, priests are holy by attribution. Not so the laity, since they do not have the office of priesthood: they must throw themselves on the mercy of God.
Respect and honour priests as you would Christ himself, because Christ is standing before you, by proxy. Remember what Christ said: what you do to the least of these, you do to me.

Like

Of course, priests are holy 🤣🤣🤣
The latest can of worms to burst open in international media is confirmation that Pope John Paul II who was canonised a saint with undue haste after his death is now known to have covered up for abuse.
Holy Saints are not what the public are asked to believe they are.

Like

I suggest Fr. Jerry prays for the conversion of degenerate colleagues in RCC priesthood including members of the hierarchy. Criminal acts are not just sinful to be confessed but criminal offences. Victims-survivors are entitled to access the mechanisms of justice and to prompt redress. Covering up a serious criminal offence is also a crime. This blog highlights ongoing abuse corruption and crime in the RCC which is systemic and revolting. The moral authority and credibility of hierarchy is in tatters.

Fr. Tom Deenihan must apologise to Dom Benedict Andersen, the true Prior of Silverstream. +Ray must apologise to Fr. Seán. +Phonsie must apologise to the people of Waterford.
Premeditated, adjective
(of an action, especially a crime) thought out or planned beforehand.
The wayward abbot’s appearance in the boiler house is absolutely scandalous and was a premeditated decision Phonsie.

Like

+Pat wants Silverstream suppressed which will leave Dom Andersen with nothing of what he co-founded. And honestly while +Phonsie (Ireland’s dime store Cordileone) was probably the prime mover in dismissing, say, Fr Richard Geoghegan, the ACP provided Fr Geoghegan with risible representation. It’s not clear where to start in making Irish Catholic work justly, but at least Dickie Purcell won’t be doing his boilerhouse thing as an abbot and perhaps Phonsie might other things to do. Dunno.

This Father looks as though he could do with a good haircut, trim his moustache, fix his wonky glasses etc. He has that typical clerical unkempt dishevelled look. I wonder what the front of his soup stained shirt looks like, or whether he has changed his trousers in the last six months. He’s definitely not one of the sharp, well turned out clergy with manicures and starched collars (who will all be gay), but one of the old school hetero bag of sh++te clergy. I know which I would prefer…….

It is a self-evident fact that a parish priest cannot help himself but be rude and pompous in all his dealings with people.
He was wronged by the carrying of the photograph but the wrong was immediately righted and with a gracious apology. No harm, no foul.
However, the abusive ad hominum and use of the pejorative reveals a cantankerous old man which is par for the course given he’s 40 years in the cloth.

Like

Yep, agree with you @9:23. This man is the archetype of the priest who thinks he is it, is the main man, bulls his way around his parish and expects that people will just fall in to line. Well, he’s a dying breed. Thank God. He might still just get away with it in the rural sticks of Cork and Ross, but not for much longer even there. He’s a dinosaur. Maybe it’s good that he’s brought to book and ribbed a bit in this blog. Might teach him some humility.

It’s good to apologise, not begrudgingly as Pat has done, but unreservedly. Apologies, if sincere do not need predications or explantations. You got it wrong re: Fr. Cremin and you apologised. That’s the Christian response. Any of us would feel as he did. TRUTH is important – always. I hope commenters won’t plough harshly into the priest who felt aggrieved.

Like

You mean like you’ve ploughed harshly into Pat when he’s apologized? I will never understand why you people feel the need to demolish people for mistakes – always. We must show mercy.

Like

Sorry, but what has ‘Bring back the Latin Mass’ to do with the subject of Cremin’s email? It’s almost as though he had a ‘senior moment’ at that point (forgot himself, so to speak), or a Tourette’s episode, and then self-collected enough to sign off in the customary way. A bit like my telling folk all about a recent visit to Australia when, just before finishing, announcing that I had eggs for breakfast. Bizarrely irrelevant, but fascinating, too.
Part of life’s rich tapestry, I suppose.

I have a lovely old-school book which would serve Fr Cremlin well “courtesy for clerics”. Of course, many read it and still went on to rape children so unsure of how effective it was at imparting good manners.

Father Cremin of Cork and Ross should just have kept his head low and shut his mouth. Now he’s put himself out on the blogosphere, there is no knowing what might be discovered about him !

Pat, you did what was necessary to right your wrong, of course he is going to come back with some gibe to you and, the blog, he is understandably angry, any priest, or person today would feel aggrieved to be illustrated as the sexual offender, in fact I thought he dealt with it in a very civil manner, as was your response. I did something similar and was threatened with the law.

3:37 yet another miserable cleric, rude man. He clearly couldn’t give a fig about all of the terrible things his colleagues do to children and others. My mother was Irish, she would have decribed this Fr Cremin as a me feiner.

What way is that to start off an email -using someone’s last name? This person obviously didn’t learn manners in his seminary. A genuine mistake was made. If he was a man of God at all he would have written to Pat with humility. A lot of charlatans the whole cabal of RCC “priests” are

Seminaries aren’t places for learning manners, but for hearing how ontologically special priests are and about how indespensible they are in bri going people to the laity. A really good grounding in humility, that.

Pat Buckkey. Today some commenters have heaped abusive words on Fr. Cremin. Why are you printing these vulgar comments? You are one big f****d up piece of humanity. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE.

6:09 Fr Jeremiah Cremin should wash his filthy mouth out with soap and water or better still take an ice cold power washer to some of his abusive colleagues.

Thank you for that information. Perhaps some of the commentators here should show a bit more understanding and should apologise to Fr Cremin.
Pat showed great sincerity in his apology to Fr. Cremin.

McCARRICK ADMITS KNOWING VICTIM AS A CHILD, DENIES SEXUAL ASSAULTS
BOSTON (MA)
Our Sunday Visitor [Huntington IN]
March 6, 2023
By Damien Fisher
“Disgraced former cardinal Theodore McCarrick, whose attorneys have argued he should not stand trial due to “progressive and irreparable cognitive deficits,” recalled the name of the man he allegedly sexually abused as a child, although he denied the sexual assaults.” “Mitchell Garabedian, the attorney for the alleged victim, isn’t surprised that McCarrick could remember the man when confronted by a reporter despite the legal claims he is in mental decline. Garabedian said McCarrick was employing a “commonly used strategy” of “denial, deception and cover up” he has seen in dealing with the Catholic Church in civil and criminal sexual abuse cases.”“And former Cardinal McCarrick is using that strategy in the criminal case,” he told OSV News.”Garabedian noted he deposed McCarrick in 2020 for the civil lawsuits the alleged victim brought, and the former cardinal sat for six hours answering questions about the case without reported issues.”

Such a scruffy looking, angry old man Pat.
Shouting his dirty mouth off so quickly about being mis represented as another dirty paedophile scumbag.
If he had been so quick off the mark to out other filth in the cloth that he and his fellow scum clerics knew about during his 40 year career maybe his precious institution wouldn’t be crumbling around him.

Like

You need to clean your mouth out with carbolic soap. Fr. Cremin was quite right to complain about being mistaken for a paedophile with the photograph and Pat Buckley was quite right to apologise.
After you have washed your mouth, please read the posts at 3.52pm and 3.55pm and then apologise.

8:23 Roman Catholic Church should first apologise to all victims in writing and settle all outstanding financial claims, until then this cesspit excuse for a church is entitled to zero respect. Scumbags & their diligent self interested protectors is what they are one and all,

You have no business comparing individuals or counties either.
There’s no ‘I’ in team. Which is what this country needs. I suppose you you think ireland has only has 26 counties not 32 aswell.
All about perception not comparison …only creates divides…

I suppose if your blog is about Scumbags – as it generally is, then he was accidentally supporting you by referring to it as such.

Seeing your picture associated with such an appalling case must have been a terrible shock. I would have freaked out. But the mistake has been quickly rectified and apologies made.

Like

9:07 Agreed, Bishop Pat Buckley did the right think, he immediately took action to rectify his error in posting the wrong photograph in the matter of a case of 2 priests who look very alike and with the same surname. It was a reasonable mistake acknowledged and dealt with appropriately by Bishop Buckley.
The disrespectful tone of Fr Jeremiah Cremins email is noted as is the ongoing retraumatising of victims and survivors of abuse executed by clerical and lay members of his Roman Catholic Church worldwide.
