CONCERNS FROM ENGLISH SEMINARIAN.

+Pat

MARK ASHWOOD

There is a deacon from East Anglia Rev Mark Ashwood (38 from Belfast) who is due to be ordained this summer by Peter Collins.

COLLINS

This individual has a very chequered past, who was very close to the chancellor of the diocese Mgsr Eugene harkness who you wrote about on the blog.

HARKNESS

Ashwood was reported to former Rector Roger Taylor after incidents in the student common room.

ROGER TAYLOR

One Westminster deacon has been laicised after one episode (Adam Dora)

ADAM DORA

Quite recently, he was a good friend of one Rory Coyle who was based at the Servites in Fullam.

RORY COYLE

He is also connected to one Lorcan Keller who left maynooth after that summer of love in 2016 and now training with Westminster diocese.

PAT SAYS

I have edited the English seminarians’ contribution.

It’s interesting to see our ROAREE turning up again!

He certainly gets around.

It’s good that there are seminarians who are concerned about things happening in their seminaries and are prepared to whistle blow.

Of course, if they attempted to do within the Church they would be CANCELLED big time

Things in the RCC couldn’t be worse.

It’s the religious equivalent of the Mafia or Triads.

Any good bishop or priest is wasting his time and serving Darkness.

Thank You, Lord, for taking me out of it 37 years ago this year.

Darkness was convicted of cottaging in a public toilet in the Fens in the early 1990s with a barrister. It made the Cambridge Evening News and was widely reported. He was already a Monsignor, having been elevated (far too young) by Alan Clark. He likes to holiday on the beaches of Sardinia. He retains an eye for handsome men.

We can thank Mark Tabernacle Kirby of Silverstream for the current exposure if Ireland’s gay abbots and abbeys.
Kirby”s sexual overtures towards one of his monks, over a ten year period, was absolutely inappropriate and makes no sense of his ridiculous claims that Jesus speaks to him from the Tabernacle.
If Jesus was speaking to Kirby from the Tabernacle he would say to him:
“Stoping coming on to your monks and stop showing them your John Thomas”.

A Benedictine monk who is Rome-based has shared a sworn affidavit and other documentation that attests to the involvement of Gregory Collins on the gay scene the Eternal City.
It is not unreasonable to infer that Collins’ behaviour was known about and ignored with alacrity by certain persons in Sant’ Anselmo. Collins behaviour while as an abbot in Jerusalem was brought to the attention Fr. Mark Hederman, OSB. & current Abbot Brendan Coffey.
Abbot Coffey was involved in the Mark Kirby Silverstream visitation.

Collins resigned as abbot over sexual misbehaviour and Purcell followed.
What is this about the “GAY COMMUNITY AT GLENSTAL that Collins mentioned.
Is it all a gay community?
Or is there a gay community within the general community?
Why the need for homoerotic paintings in Glenstal?
Is Glenstal happier to receive homosexual novices than heterosexual novices?

The allegations concerning the behaviour of Dom Gregory Collins were brought to the personal attention of the then Abbot of Glenstal Abbey, Dom Mark Patrick Hederman, who tried to explain them away as experiential conduct; if this is denied by Hederman, a copy of his e-mailed reply can be provided.
In light of the “known” duplicitous behaviour of Dom Gregory Collins, who recommended him to the Anglican Diocese of Chichester? Did Collins have a letter from the then Abbot of Glenstal, attesting that he was a monk and priest in good standing; if so, from which abbot, Hederman or Coffey and/or both? Did Collins have a letter attesting he was a priest in good standing with priestly faculties to minister within the Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly?
Did the Anglican Bishop of Chichester seek clarification from the Abbot President of the Annunciation Congregation about the reasons Gregory Collins resigned as Abbot in Jerusalem?
Did the Abbot of the Glenstal and his council, petition the Holy See for Dom Gregory Collins to be released his monastic vows and the obligations of the clerical state? Is Dom Gregory canonically, still a monk and priest of Glenstal Abbey?
Could Dom Gregory be one of the people that had a relationship with Dom Richard Purcell, the current Abbot and Ordinary of Mount Melleray Abbey?

11:40 Thank you, on addition to highlighting your own racism, for accidentally demonstrating an important reason for the drop off of interest in church in the west. In the past people went into the church for the same reason people in ‘those bits of the world’ do – as a ‘vehicle to education, career and financial success’.
That’s why the church wants people in poverty and ignorance – as soon as they have choices, education and prosperity, they’re not interested.

What does “incidents in the student common room” really mean ? Were they drunk, were they kissing, were they shagging, were they watching pornography, or were they having heretical debates about some fine theological point ? Could be any or all of those, if I know the Venereal English College ! I do think we need to accept that the generality of young men, and some not so young retreads, that you find in seminaries these days are a self-selecting group of men who are seeking some refuge from real life and themselves, usual gay, often odd and autistic, frequently weird looking, a good number of them will elevated BMI……..etc. What does a young man in this day and age find attractive about wanting to become a priest – the clerical culture, celibacy, a life tied feudally to the apron strings of a bishop, increasingly suspect in society, associated with clerical sexual abuse of the vulnerable and children, living in a make believe world of ontological elevation…… etc ? Those who do come forward have something seriously wrong with them, and so we should not be surprised when they act in these ways. Priesthood is not a healthy and integrated way of life as currently lived. It is a recipe for dysfunction and unhappiness. It needs radical reform.

And the fact they are referred to merely as incidents may indicate the clerical inability to be honest about anything.

The English bishops simply want to avoid at any cost grasping the nettle of their seminaries. They know that they are dysfunctional and harmful, and do not produce the sort of priests that the Church requires. They know the detail. Every now and again there is a visitation, but these are usually cover up operations waxing warmly about the seminarians and staff. You don’t need to dig deep to see indications that things are not good in these places. For example, how did Jolly get through and get ordained ? How did Christopher Morris slip through ? How come certain members of staff have been moved on because of their overfamiliarity with seminarians ? How come some members of staff are openly gay and active (not that I have a problem with that per se, but surely the Church must have if they believe what they say?). What about the quality of staff in terms of their academic qualifications and ability to teach ? Why about the sense of educating these men in a semi-monastic Puginesque woman free environment ?These places in most areas would not get even a ‘need to improve’ judgement from something like a seminary OFSTED ! More like ‘inadequate’. Or ‘failing’. And yet we continue to fund these places, and bishops seem incapable or unwilling to sort the places and people out. The whiff of homoeroticism is thick in the air in these places. Again, I have no problem with that per se, but I do have a problem with the hypocrisy and duplicity that goes along with it in a Church that makes such a thing about homosexuality and particularly about chastity and celibacy of its clergy and bishops. Such a divergence between reality and what is proclaimed is not healthy in itself. It’s dangerous all round. So, one way or other, they need to sort these things out, either by cleaning the places up according to their public profession, or being honest and recognising the complexity of sexuality and speak and act positively and inclusively about difference and diversity. Choice is yours, Elsie and Nursie and the others, or it will be clearly outed and there will be real trouble. You are sitting on a bomb just waiting to go off….

11:05 How can remaining a bishop of a ‘church’ with a record of crime and torture that Putin would envy, qualify as being one of the ‘decent’ ones?
If by that you mean he didn’t actually rape any children himself your bar for decency is set, ahem, indecently low.
Don’t tell me… you see yourself as one of the decent ones as well don’t you, and on the same grounds?
This is one of the classic ways people justify it to themselves as they stand by and support evil.

9:13 The seminary system was originally set up in competition to the university educated Protestant ministers at the reformation who could beat the ignorant Romanists at the drop of a biretta. However the university model was mixed with an ideal of getting them very young before the world got them and the need to try to stop them having sex.
Strangely the one true church guided by Christ was unable to see that this was a recipe for the exact opposite. A seminary essentially creates the situation of a single sex boarding school or prison, and any prison officer will tell you of the continual masturbation and homosexuality that go on, even in men who would normally be straight.
They would have been better sending them to secular universities: that would also have avoided much of the preciousness we see.

Can an eastern orthdox person receive holy communion in a roman catholic church and put the host into their pursre to be taken later at home. The RCC believe that holy communion consists of the bread and wine completly changing to the body and blood of Jesus. The orthodox believe that holy communion consists of the body and blood of Jesus and also that the bread and wine remains present. If that is the case why are protestants refused communion in catholic church as they believe the bread and wine are symbolic of Jesus.

Like

The RCC once refused communion to innocent, learning-disabled children, like my neice Ceara, on the ground (and here’s the best bit) that they could not know or understand what they were receiving. (Well, would anyone, really? It is, after all, classed as ‘mystery’.)

It didn’t occur to these clerical vultures and parasites that those present at the Last Supper did not know or understand the Eucharist either, since none of them, at this point, accepted Jesus as God, much less as the Second Person of the Trinity, nor did they expect him even to die, never mind rise from death. But Jesus didn’t quibble over such ignorance.

No; what mattered to the vultures and parasites wasn’t what ought to have mattered, personal innocence, but Canon Law. And who, after Mary, can claim such innocence except these soul-beautiful children?

Well, the vultures and parasites eventually backed down, but these innocents never got so much as an apology from the head vulture and parasite, JPII, for the centuries of gross discrimination and injustice against them, which could only have been an almighty affront to the Almighty himself.

So, 1.52, don’t waste your time on pondering whether the vultures and parasites would allow this or that. Each time just think ‘F**k them!’, and then do what your conscience requires. The vultures and parsites won’t understand conscience, at least not as you do, so don’t mention it to them. Because each of them cashed in his conccience on the day of his ordination. Can you guess principally for what? That’s right. For Canon Law, and a bit of priest power.
