AN EARLIER ASSAULT ON HIS DAUGHTER ???

FROM GLASGOW TIMES
SCOTS funeral director attacked his wife in a row over curtains.
Desmond Maguire, 48, assaulted Margaret Maguire at their home in Glasgow’s King’s Park on December 3, 2022.
The angry undertaker shoved Margaret to the ground causing her to fall and then stood over her.
Child witnesses reported hearing a “thud” at the time of the row.
A shocked Margaret stated to them: “He just pushed me.”
Maguire was found guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court of assaulting Margaret.
Sheriff Bernard Ablett said: “This was an incident which had as a background a heated argument between you and Margaret regarding curtain materials.

AQUITTED ON SECOND ASSAULT OF DAUGHTER

Maguire was also acquitted of assaulting a girl in a car on the M876 near Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire on December 19, 2021.
The charge said Maguire seized hold of her hair, slapped her on the face and struck her head against the window.
The girl claimed that the attack took place after she and Margaret picked him and a friend up from a game at Celtic Park.
Prosecutor Jeremy O’Neill told the court in his closing submissions: “As they were seated in the car, the girl was assaulted in the manner on the charge.
“The picture painted by both Margaret and the girl during the course of the car journey was not only consistent with regards to the facts and circumstances but to the atmosphere which was surprising, sudden and distressing.”
Paul Nelson KC, defending, said that Maguire and Margaret have since ended their relationship.
The advocate added: “It is unfortunate for his good character that he should fall by the wayside at this stage in his life.
“Mr Maguire operates a business in funeral directing.
“After the last number of years, there was a rise in people requiring funeral directors and he is able to pay a fine.”
FROM OUR GLASGOW PRIEST
Pat,
In response to those suggesting that all clergy named and shamed other than Dominic Quinn have fallen out with Des Maguire this is absolutely not true.
On numerous occasions his Funeral Car with Registration plate Dxx XX has been seen by multiple people parked outside Anthony Gallaghers chapel house including at 7am. He had also been out for dinner and drinks with Anthony and his friend Mr Mark McGuire, the school teacher who teaches in the parish school of Anthony’s parish.
Hugh Bradley has only distanced himself from Des in the last couple of weeks when he realised how the court case was going and when parishioners challenged him and the archbishop gave him an ultimatum. Indeed it was Bradley who recommended to Des that he hire his KC, Mr Paul Nelson, who is friendly with numerous clergy.
FACTS
CLERICAL REFERENCES CONFIRMED
Pat,
We have had it confirmed today by our contacts in the legal profession and courts that Character References were indeed submitted by said clergy to Des Maguire’s Catholic Advocate and they were submitted for the Sheriff to consider in his deliberations. In Scottish Law these are not necessarily read in Court or recorded on the court script or sheriffs summary.

You’re right, many victims-survivors are retraumatised and re-abused when they come forward. Clergy seem to cherry pick gospel teachings to suit their agendas. Exposure of clerical abuse is ongoing in Ireland over 35 yrs but a reckoning on abuse has yet to occur according to the Irish bishops conference. What else is covered up by bishops? I doubt very much if any evidential references were validated to anyone by legal friends. Surely to do so is a breach of data! Aside from the horrible abuse perpetrated by the undertaker, you, Pat, and your nasty mobsters now want to totally destroy this man’s business and to impugn the clerics who allegedly gave references. I gave a reference once to a man known to me through his family. I thought highly of all of them as they were fantastic members of the parish in many ways. A few weeks after he got the job he organised a huge inside theft of valuables by sharing info re: deliveries of said precious goods. His “comrades” held him and other driver up and robbed contents from delivery van. He got a harsh sentence and even that didn’t teach him: he went askew for many years, sadly. I was very annoyed as were his parents. Sometimes we don’t know people as well as we think we do. I no longer give any references. None.

Maguire, like so many criminals, probably believed that his behaviour would never be called out and that he would not be brought to justice. What does that remind you of ? For how many decades did priest and bishops believe that their criminal behaviour in respect of sexual abuse of children was just part of the background of the clerical and church culture that they would never be challenged about, and they would not have to face police, courts, justice and prison ? Well, ask Penny, Jolly, Bede Walsh and the hundreds of others that have spent time in prison for what they did and thought that they would get away with. I think that Trump will be reflecting on such matters this morning. Putin might give it some thought. If you do something evil, wicked, wrong, criminal, then you will eventually be found out, caught and prosecuted. Perhaps they should be teaching that in seminaries to the inadequate dolts who are preparing to be the next generation of leaders in the Church. God help us…. !

Ending Clergy Abuse
(ECAGlobal.org) [Seattle WA]
MARCH 29, 2023.
“This morning, Fr. Hans Zollner, the chief architect of Pope Francis’s clergy sex abuse policy, announced his resignation from the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors. The Commission, established in 2014, is the centerpiece of Pope Francis’s response to the global clergy sexual abuse catastrophe.” “The formation of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors resulted from decades of clergy abuse survivor activism around the world. Pope Francis promised survivors that this Commission would end clergy abuse. The Pope has broken his promise, and Zollner’s resignation and reasons for leaving confirm this. Pope Francis is convening a worldwide synod this October which will determine the future of the Catholic Church. Alarmingly, the Church’s greatest catastrophe, widespread rape and sexual abuse of children and vulnerable adults, is not on the agenda. This means Pope Francis does not see a ‘zero tolerance law’ for abuse and its institutional concealment as part of the future of the Catholic Church.”

Murphy was a tyrant and hated his own stock. Totally insecure and massive chip on his shoulder. A prophet is not welcome ….

Murphy was a most horrible man. He put me off the priesthood. I am glad to live a dead end job in Swansea on my own. I don’t have the church men controlling me.
